Pedling hotel & Spa's warmth and hospitality is unbeatable, especially the girls in the kitchen. The guy who welcomed us with green tea needs to be groomed. When asked what water has been used, he seemed angry and rude. Such a welcome made us anxious initially but the stay was okay. The girls in the kitchen with their warmth more than made up for it! Needs to refill shower caps, such tiny soaps daily. It was noisy with constructions noise and loud voices. WIFI sucked. Time Bhutan thought of lifts and good wifi.If you want decent and local food, go there.

The place is located right at the city center and easily accessible. Rooms are very spacious and staff are really friendly. Heater in the room and the geyser in the room works fine. However, rooms are not fully insulated and sometimes noises can be heard. The food at the hotel's dining is really good. If you are looking for a place in the city center with access to all the nearby good restaurants, shops and clubs, would highly recommend this place.

We stayed here for 6 nights in February 2020. Our room was not luxurious, but was sufficient to our needs, It included a minifridge, which was handy. Two 1/2 liter bottles of water were provided each day. Our room rate included breakfast, which was buffet syle some mornings (perhaps when the hotel has sufficient numbers of guests?), but otherwise was table service, with several options available. We found the staff attentive and helpful. We were given our own Go and Kira ( Bhutanese national dress for men and women, respectively) and staff members assisted us with getting everything adjusted just right.

The hotel is located in between neighboring buildings under construction or building. Loud noise from heavy machinery goes on till midnight.|We had a front view room, facing construction right in front of us. So, curtains had to be shut at all times.|Hot water was sufficient for one person only. Once we complained, they offered us a larger room facing the back, but also facing a building being built, with terribly loud noise until midnight!!! Street noise was loud, too.|The hotel in general, and the rooms in particular, are run down. In fact, I dare write that the rooms were filthy. Bed linen was dirty and stained.|Breakfast was significantly poor and not satisfying at all.|The second room we received was freezing cold, so we asked for an extra heater. They brought one and plugged it in on an extension cord with another one, without realizing it was overloading the power cord, which heated to a dangerous state, resulting in that we had to disconnect one heater. |I would never go there, even if it was for free!|

I quite enjoyed my one evening in this lovely hotel and wish I was able to stay longer. Very kind, helpful reception staff who were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast and dinner had limited selections, but were very good. The room was charming and clean. The only negative was the very poor wifi which pretty much did not work in my room the entire time I was there.

I was back in town after a few years and it was kinda a hard to stay in a hotel after being in my own apartment but this place made it happen. The rooms on the third floor are 'old' style with large wooden planks, traditional (wonderful) beds and windows. Bathroom works, albeit rudimental, works perfect as well as wifi and electricity. Accessorised with refrigerator, tv and boiling water, excellent breakfast (sometimes slow) and lovely staff. The only risk to your sleep is if you end up here with a large group that is not yours... Located in the center, it's very easy to go everywhere and everyone in town would know where to find you...

This hotel is centrally located right next to shopping area with lot of eateries around. The view from room is amazing. Rooms are very clean - white sparkling bed sheets n towels. Basic toiletries are provided except dental kit. The food is not so great. But can’t call it bad either. Everyone has different taste . So it is really very difficult to comment on food. The staff is very polite n ever ready to help especially Ms Tenzin and Ms Monica

The Pedling hotel is owned by a monastery. It is well located in the centre of Thimpu and is decent enough for a mid-range hotel. In common with many other hotels, the noise from stray dogs at night is irritating: you need earplugs. The rooms are reasonable, although there is no lift and there are a number of floors. The bathrooms are clean and, again, good enough, but the basin tap was loose and the shower curtain didn't reach far enough, resulting in a very wet floor; both these shouldn't need fixing. The food is adequate, albeit a bit average and the bar doesn't operate as a bar but as an adjunct to the dining room. A high spot is the Aru Spa, which was excellent in terms of the enviroment, the staff, the massages and the value.
