Excellent service! Despite not having a booking, we were well looked after very well. The staff were attentive and kind, accommodating dietary requirements without any problems. Food portions are large, filling, and full of excellent flavours. I've been here many times and will return many more times!

The food is tasty, great atmosphere, amazing wine list with some local South Australian gems. This place serves mostly generous plates meant to be shared, if you are dining solo, they can do half size of a few options, or otherwise you have to be very hungry. I loved the place, but to get the best experience, I would just recommend you go as a group. I had the banana blossom salad with shredded chicken, and the tuna ceviche (pictured) both were delicious, just spicy enough.

Fantastic cuisine. Excellent service esp the good looking French waiter. Had the Kingfish sashimi, roast lamb shoulder and grilled peach ice cream.

The portions are great considering price point, each dish we ordered were of high standards. The curry dumplings though mild, had lots of flavour. The parfait was the perfect amount of nuttiness and sweetness. Both were highlights. Nice waiters. Overall would go back to try more dishes.

The place was super busy on a Tuesday night. Atmosphere was loud and probably not suited for intimate dinners but great for groups. Service was friendly and attentive. We didn't enjoy our whisky and gin sours, but the food was super flavoursome. The three dishes we ordered were all flavour bombs. To the point where it was probably a tad bit much by our third dish. Some rice on the side to provide some relief to the taste buds was probably needed. But we can't deny they were delicious.

We had such a fantastic night (sister’s reunion) thank you! The food was amazing; great selection of drinks; a tad loud but we didn’t care as we were in a party mood. The waitstaff were personable, authentic and very accommodating to our needs (let us sneak our hubby’s on the 2p reservation) which was soooooo appreciated. One very happy Sydney-sider + one stoked local.

Came on a thursday night, staff was very friendly and attentive, and the food was so amazing. We did the tasting menu and it had a really good amount and range of different dishes. Everything was really yummy and I especially enjoyed the cauliflower and the sashimi. Thank you for such a lovely night.

Google
Tastiest food I’ve had in years. I sat at the bar and had a half-half of the chicken salad and banana eggplant dish. They were phenomenal. Buzzing busy atmosphere. Friendly staff. It was so busy were turning people away on a Monday - so BOOK AHEAD!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! We stumbled into this gem and they luckily found us a table. The food was perfection!! We had the cod, sashimi and banana blossom salad. All three were wonderful. I would definitely go back!!

Yelp
Awesome fusion gem. We had the lamb, the brisket and the falafel. Everything was outstanding! Best meal in Adelaide.

Yelp
Stop on a short notice for coffee and Dessert it was omg was so delicious and so creative and so different unfortunately they didn't have reservations for dinner that night if the dinner is as creative and delicious as a dessert I would highly recommend you make a reservation unfortunately I don't have another day in town to try for dinner

Yelp
We first came here for lunch but it was too early and the kitchen was not open yet. We decided rather than waiting, that we would come back for dinner. The nice lady helped us make reservations for another night but they were only seeing at the bar which we were ok with. When we went back for dinner, to our surprise there was a table available for us. We got to order our drinks right away and it took us some time to decide on what to eat cause everything sounded good. I believe it took at least 30-45 min to get our food after we ordered it. I thought maybe they forgot about us.... I think we were there for about 2 hours total and our parking was quite pricy because of the slow service! I felt the prices of the dishes were quite high for the amount you get. I guess it's kinda like those fancy restaurants that you break your bank at and still leave hungry. We ordered a pork belly dish. When we got it, it was hard to find the meat under all the vegetables! The pork was really delicious and the veggie, pineapple, mango mix was good. But there was a TON of coriander on the top. The menu didn't say anything about coriander and I would have ordered it without because I hate it. The coriander made the dish look huge but in reality it was quite small for the price. We also ordered a fish that was in a broth. It was pretty good but a little hard to eat since we were sharing it. It wasn't really anything spectacular.

Yelp
Have to say, it's pretty average. The menu describes exciting flavors that the food doesn't have so when you get your food you end up disappointed...only the service was excellent!! over rated I think.

Yelp
The pork belly small plate was everything! The other plates we ordered were fattoush and the lamb shoulder. The fattoush was decidedly bland. It was over cooked, rendering it dry and crumbly. The lamb was fine and tender, however it was served with much the same accompaniments as the fattoush. The accompaniments we experienced with each dish were actually very much ground hog day. Each plate piled high with the same essential ingredients. More fluff than substance. Also had to ask for fresh plates for the main. Shouldn't be necessary, especially if the entree included prawns.

Yelp
We took a chance on this popular place and as it was a Monday we were in luck just walking in off the street. The food was fantastic, the waiter less so but not enough to ruin anything. Oh the wine was good too! The ribs were fantastic, absolutely fantastic. I waddled back to my hotel because I couldn't stop eating. It was so tasty. The squid main was really good too I was told. Highly recommended!

Chris L.

Yelp
Nice place located on a quieter side street. The staff was really friendly and helpful from greeting to food recommendations. This place has a decent selection of wine to pair with the food. For the food, there is the option to select "small plates" or large plates. The small plates are still relatively big portions. For two people visiting this restaurant, either share two small plates or get a large plate to start (and then get a small plate if still hungry). For a busy restaurant around lunch time, there was a decent wait for the Crispy Fried Kingfish Wings to come. However, it was WORTH it! The dish had great flavors (slightly spicy with some acidity), and the refreshing vegetables paired well with the fish. Would definitely come back again!

Yelp
This place was amazing!!! Came for dinner on a Monday with my husband on our first night in Adelaide. We made a reservation several weeks before and could only snag an 845pm reservation so we knew it was going to be good. The menu is written on a huge chalkboard wall and has small plates, large plates, sides, and desserts. We were told to split a small plate and a large plate for 2. We were initially hesitant that this would be enough since we eat a lot, but listened to the waitress when she said we definitely didn't need a side. So glad we went with her kind advice!! We started out with a small plate on kingfish sashimi. There was a sesame ginger dressing, chilis, rice puffs, cucumbers, and some other veggies mixed in. Out of this world fresh and delicious. It was a solid size with ~8-10 generous slices of kingfish. We also split a braised lamb with potato, crispy sumac pita, eggplant, and some other veggies on top of yogurt and hummus for our large plates. This plate was enormous and could have easily satisfied 3 ppl! The lamb was so tender and pulled apart very easily. Overall flavor of the dish was truly amazing. All of the parts went so well together. Would 1000% come back if in Adelaide and highly recommend!!

Yelp
My partner and I were out and about and lioking for somewhere to eat - we had tried to get a table at Peel St before but it was always booked out. But, the staff managed to find a spot for us and their service and the food made it clear why it's hard to get in. Service was excellent - attentive but not overbearing, and the food well presented, tasty and generous. This won't be our last visit!

Yelp
Very good dining experience! I was told this is one of the top 3 restaurants in Adelaide. I tried to go on Thursday but they were booked out. I'm glad they were because I went with a group on Friday and we were able to get a table outside. Definitely go with a group & definitely go hungry! The food is all shareable so you should order around 5 entrees for the table (we had 5 in our party). The dishes are served on cutting boards. The protein is typically buried underneath a lot of yummy veggies or salad. They give you plenty of food for the table. Items are served one at a time so you actually get to try everything in a timely manner instead of rushing because hot food is on the table. We all joked that they used just a little too much coriander/cilantro on each dish as it was excessive. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and quick. The following day, we were all still commenting on how great the meal had been. Will definitely try to go back. Really sorry I didn't grab any photos.

Yelp
Adelaide continues to be amazing with Peel St! I came here for a coffee in the morning which was excellent but seeing the menu on the blackboard I knew I had to come back for dinner but as it was a Friday night they were completely booked!! Thankfully my friend and I were fine with a super early sitting as we had a show to go to at the Festival Centre. What can I say about the food though...OMG! The restaurant is designed around sharing plates and each one has been perfectly designed to tantalise every tastebud in your mouth. We had the Pork Belly and Prawns, Crispy Snapper Wings and the Armenian Lamb Soldiers and neither of us could choose a favourite. The wait staff were excellent and so knowledge about everything on their menu including telling us their own personal favourites and describing how all the wines tasted! I need to come back to Adelaide some time soon just to come back here!

Yelp
You know it's been a good lunch when you're still telling every person you meet about the experience days later. This is what I'm like after a lunch time visit to Peel Street earlier this week. I can't stop talking about the seared tuna on a bed of tahini sauce with a pine nut, pomegranate salsa. It was so good that our table of three demanded two serves. It's not as if they were small dishes, we were just plain greedy. Then we polished off the "zucchini toastie" which wasn't at all what we were expecting but a big abundant pile of zucchini done three ways (puree, fried and shaved raw) and mingled with other fresh veggies. Not the dainty, pick up and nibble number we thought we were getting but tasty all the same. The chicken liver pate was one of the best I've had. The accompanying salad and pickled "bits" and toast was excellent and made this $21 dish great value. God knows how we had room for a portion of roast chicken with italian veggies and some wine, but we did and it was good. All good. I can imagine this place being packed and a little rowdier in the evenings, but our lunch time lady date was the perfect time to explore the menu and take it all in without feeling rushed. I love that the menu is mainly made up of specials - a showcase of local produce and the skill of the kitchen who can seemingly flit between cuisines yet make the whole meal of mixed dishes feel cohesive. I can't wait to go back and see what they do next time.

Yelp
Oranges and I get along like a cat with fleas. No really, I'm allergic to citrus. So you can imagine what I was like walking into a place that was called Peel St and it was on Peel St...well probably not... Apart from their delightful Lemon Meringue cupcakes and moist orange and almond cakes for sneaky afternoon tea, this place has nothing to do with citrus. What it does have to do with is a simple, wholesome, unpretentious lunch and dinner menu that Martin (Head Chef and owner) has designed to remain seasonal and interesting. Every time I go in here, even if it is for just a sneaky G&T or even sneakier Iced Coffee with orange vanilla ice cream (not on the menu but just do it) the menu on the blackboard painted main walls is different. Coffin Bay oysters one week, snapper wings the next. It's a shame I forgot to look at the seasonal menu on the board the day I dined in as there were some great options up there too! Even just a crappy specials of the day printed menu would be useful, especially when they are busy, and that is every dinner at the moment. We were seated at the window overlooking drunk passersby on a balmy Friday night and the atmosphere was buzzing. We ordered warm olives, dripping in oil (the way it should be), tuna crudo so fresh it fell apart on the fork (sashimi for the unofficiated) with a horseradish dressing, bean smashingly good smash with goats cheese and a half chicken with quinoa. Note on the chicken: a half is enough for 2, the quinoa has a caramalised onion and fresh cucumber in it that means it no longer tastes of cardboard but was so good my meat eating partner asked..."mmm what's this delicious rice dish stuff?" Overall with multiple drinks and 4 dishes between us we rolled out of there, saving more than we would in most other restaurants of that quality. All I can say is book (thank god they allow this). The people of Adelaide have already spoken about how popular this place is by the looks of the Friday night waiting lists.

Yelp
I am so used to people telling me that this x new place is amazing because blah blah blah. So when I heard all of this about Peel St Cafe, I was prepared for a good meal, but not an amazing one. Which left me completely unprepared for what I experienced. The environment is warm and comfortable- a good vibe with friendly staff. A good selection of wines was there for our selection, be prepared that conventional soft drinks are not available. We allowed the staff to choose our plates due to an inability to make decisions and what we experienced was a rich array of foods from a variety of cultures- Asian, Middle Eastern, European flavours and combinations. The food was indescribably fresh, portions generous, quality obvious with a rustic feel to the plates, and we were pleasantly surprised by how our bill for six ended up looking. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Amazing food! Great plates for sharing. Be careful to order foods that compliment as there are a couple of different cuisines on the menu, but if you pick right you will be satisfied! Our faves were the chicken salad, pork belly and Eton mess. Yum!

Yelp
Finally got to have a feed at the Peel Street Restaurant with some work mates. This one of the early entries to the Peel Street Food/Drink upgrade with several others opening or opening soon. It's a popular place for sure, we could only sit at the bar to eat. The menu is varied in tastes and prices (a great thing) We all ended up with the 'Concrete' special - Southern Fried Chicken (cold) with dirty lentil salad. It was nicely cooked and the salad was all very tasty for sure. With a glass of wine it was a great lunch for under $30 It's certainly somewhere I'd like to go to again.

Yelp
This place felt like the hottest ticket in town. In the time we were there, dozens of people attempted walk ins, without reservation, and either put their names down to wait or were turned away. That said, I made a reservation about 10 days or so before and managed to get a seat at the bar. I'm generally happy with bar seating however the downside in this case is that the seating is very compact, and secondly, near the door it is very gusty on a chilly evening. Due to aforementioned popularity, we were exposed continuously to the winter elements. That said, I did enjoy the food. Pippis, mussels and snapper with fregola was my favourite. The pork belly with prawns and salad was also enjoyable. Chargrilled squid was a served in a generous portion but unfortunately overcooked and rubbery. Service was friendly and polished. I'd return for the food and book well in advance next time to get a table.

Yelp
This was a total fluke find and our most favourite meal we had in Adelaide. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Highly recommend the King Fish Wings and the Lamb Dumplings. Definitely worth a visit

Yelp
Hands down one of the best restaurants in Adelaide. Easily. The food here is just divine. Every bite is a celebration in your mouth. Peel St is mostly South East Asian inspired, a take on modern Australian-Asian fusion cuisine, which usually means that everything they put out is magical. The banana blossom salad in particular is an absolute favourite of mine. They are a bit pricey but it's definitely worth it, and soak in the cool atmosphere of Peel Street (the street, ha) while you're at it. My only pet hate with this restaurant is the menu - if you are going to write your menu on the chalk board please make sure everyone can read it properly. It is highly annoying to have to get up to read it and get in everyone's way. Even worse when you're sitting outside - you have to take a photo or attempt to remember what's on there.

Alan W.

Yelp
Staff were really friendly on arrival and was advised of the large blackboard which had the full menu written out clearly. Great idea.. Went for lunch and opted for a small plate which was "Lamb Fingers" it was called a small plate but was more than enough to fill.. It was a great mix of ingredients with herbs as well as pomegranate! Also opted for a glass of red, I thought the selection was limited if you wanted a glass over a bottle. So the wine cost $14.50 for a local Shiraz which was a tad pricey. The soldiers were really good I couldn't fault it. The price of $26.50 again a bit pricey not somewhere I could go to on a regular basis for lunch as all together $41.00... So all in all a nice location, great service, great food and wine, but you have to pay for it...

Yelp
The only negative to this place is the limited amount of seating for such a killer place. I consider myself a picky eater and even I found something to eat at this restaurant!! and it turned out to be very delicious especially when paired with the wine that was chosen by my waitress. The menu on the wall idea needs to have a smaller paper copy for the tables as its really hard to look through people to see it......... just sayin'
google avatar

Yelp
Wow you should try the Crispy skinned Thai salmon salad it had a taste that you would go to the pearly gates for. We had a selection of three entree sizes and two main courses between 5 adults and feel very content. I would highly recommend this to any person that loves a cacophony of flavours.

Yelp
As soon as you enter 9 peel st you forget about the bad language and tacky fast food joints that followed you down Hindley st. It was love at first site when I entered with the warm exposed brick and wooden features in the place. I love that this is a playground of choice when choosing to sit including the bar, the high top bench, the window bench, the regular tables or the cute little booth at the far end of the restaurant. Our booking was for 8:30, so by the time we sat down to order we were informed about 3 items from the menu were no longer available. Let's get one thing straight you don't come to be served by the maître d of the year. Staff were friendly but were all frazzled and running around the joint like someone lost their diamond ring. Had to ask a random waiter if we could order, had to ask if we could have an ice bucket for the wine, poured our own wine ... You get the idea. The food on the other hand was fantastic and well worth the wait! I have been waiting for a funky middle eastern inspired place to open in Adelaide and now it has! The beautiful tastes of sumac, cumin and fresh parsley will just consume you. We had a vegan diner and she was well catered for and blown away by her meal. All main meals were beautifully presented and tasted great. I will Definitely be back here however will try for an earlier booking so I have first pick at the menu!

Yelp
I'll keep this short & sweet as everyone has already said everything that I want to say. Five stars all round - quick & friendly service, a great atmosphere & extra points from me for being able to book (the planner and control freak in me gets super anxious when I can't book somewhere!). Everything on the menu sounded delicious & everything we ordered was! Our party of three each picked out a meal & upon ordering were told that they were designed to share - so we did! We did go in thinking it might be one of those places with inflated prices & small, pretentious serves but we could not have been more wrong! Everything was plenty big enough & great value for money. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
3 weeks booking for dinner, well it was all worth it. We had the early seating but will have to leave by 8.30pm, proves the popularity of this sought after dinner venue. From the minute you enter the door with big smiles of greeting n were promptly shown the table from behind the bar but followed swiftly with both food n drinks menu, n requested of choices of water. We were told that best to share the food which is fine by us. We had 3 entrees and that's more than sufficient and will have to be back for dessert some other time. The serves were generous and both the tuna and lamb we chose were of middle eastern cuisine and with well balanced flavours. Our third entree which we requested not to be served until we had finished the other 2, and that's just that, we were glad of the little breather. Double baked blue cheese soufflé with blue cheese ice cream as dressing over the bitter salad leaves, pears & walnut is just beautifully executed! The soufflé was so light and not being a big fan of blue cheese, sharing was the way to go! The cheese was not overpowering and the slight sweetness of the ice cream was just right for me but my friend finds it to be too sweet for her taste, so I suggested that this dish could be our after dinner cheese n 'dessert'? Will be back again some other season to try different menu.

Yelp
Food in Adelaide is better than anywhere in the country. I deduce it comes down to the amazing fertile and rich soils of the Barossa and the like that floods Adelaide with abundant, fresh and exquisite produce ripe for a creative and dedicated Chef to make magic. Peel Street takes the very best and concocts it into the most magical dishes I have ever had. No fine dining stiffness here. Simple, inspiring and magical dishes that are a true melting pot of styles and culture. A huge blackboard fills the far wall with an assortment of small and large dishes including lamb mince - hummus - pomegranate - coriander, prawns - papaya - chilli - peanut - vinegar, fried fish - curry - yogurt - cucumber. The countries best produce with amazing service. A must see in Adelaide!
google avatar

Yelp
I've returned and still can't fault this place. The service has gotten better and better with each visit. One grievance - the name. Here's a use case: Friend or colleague asks where is nice in Adelaide to eat. You say "Peel Street". They ask "But where on Peel Street". You explain Peel Street on Peel Street. See the problem? Not that it is really a problem - it gets you talking. And sharing with them reviews like the one I wrote previously. Tip: Sit at the bar.
google avatar

Yelp
Peel Street is one of those places that made me an instant fan. I've only been for coffee so far, which was great, but I'm keen to try their lunch and dinner menus. The whole restaurant is open and you can sit at the bar and watch the chefs at work or grab a table if your in a group. There is limited seating and they are generally booked out for dinners so ring ahead. Two of the owners are chefs and work in the kitchen and the third is the barista, so they have a tight control over the direction of the restaurant which is great. I'll write more when I've been in for lunch or dinner! :)

Yelp
This was my second visit to peel st. And it did not disappoint! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is great as well. Our waitress guided us through the menu and her suggestions were perfect. The tuna was sensational and was even enjoyed by my tuna hating husband. We left there full, happy & full of praises. Do yourself a favour and go!! My tip - ask the waiters. The menu can be a bit confusing if you're not a foodie.!

Yelp
Best restaurant in the city. Interesting flavors, wonderful fusion (Asian, middle easter, Aussie, etc), fresh produce/meat/fish. Just wonderful. When in Adelaide, it's definitely a must try!

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Very creative food options. Good drinks. Sometimes kitchen can get clogged so may require a little patience.

Yelp
This place is horrible. I bought a banana from here once and when waiting for this singular non cooked banana I overheard some mysterious noises from the kitchen . This is because my hearing is ultra amazing. Any way because my 157 iq brain was so intrigued, I decided too check this out. I slowly crept up on the door then opened it and much too my surprise, I saw my family. But ... there was a horse and in this horses *** (rear end) I see a banana which they were going to feed me :(((( I although knowing this, decided too munch on it any way and it was quite delicious.

Yelp
Love this place the food was superb definitely did not disapoint! Ive told a few of my friends about this amazing place and ill be back in January to have another great meal

Caitlin H.

Yelp
All I know is GET IN MAH BELLEH! Starting with dips - pumpkin and cumin and smoky eggplant drizzled with olive oil on lovely toasted turkish bread, yum. Moved on to the Chilli Salt Duck with masterstock and salad. Seriously, go and try this. The chilli salt that you prinkle on made it, and, for me dunking the pickled cucumber in the masterstock then the chilli salt was delightful.

Yelp
An unexpected visit to a place I hadn't previously heard of turned out to be an amazing night. We arrived around 8:30 to find that unfortunately our booking had gone missing. To the credit of the staff, they did some shuffling around and we soon found ourselves sitting at a great spot at the bar watching over the kitchen. We had the Dips Plate which was a great start followed by the "Lamb Soliders" off the specials board. The real star of the night however, was by far the chicken dish. With very few if any exceptions it was the best Chicken dish I've ever eaten anywhere. Was really great watching things happen in the kitchen, really relaxed environment and beautiful décor makes for a perfect night. Only thing stopping this from being a 5 star review was the service, very good but not perfect.

Yelp
I love finding those restaurants that are off on a small side street and just have a relaxed and inviting atmosphere away from the business of the city. This was that and more. I had the tuna dish which was fresh ahi served with a surprising mix including pomegranate seeds, fresh chili, coriander, and lime. Delicious food that was high quality for a good price and its nice to find unique combinations in dishes. I snagged a seat at the bar, but they were booked out for lunch so make a booking!

Yelp
Just loved this place! Mediterranean meets Asian. Great wine list, brilliant service. I loved the open style kitchen, the fact you can watch the chefs and see the great produce. Next time I'm back in Adelaide, I'll be back!

Yelp
You would miss this place if you weren't looking for it. I met a friend here and was really impressed by the funky style and service. I can't comment on the food as we only had drinks here, but if the place had not have been fully booked for lunch, we certainly would have stayed. I'll definitely return to check out their menu.

Yelp
1.Here we go again. A prime example of a restaurant whose business practices are self serving. Expensive food , forced on you , these days ,by the common practice of food/sharing under the disguise of " sharing food promotes warmth and closeness". Cutting cost and services is practiced to the point that you have to look it up on a big black board , all the way across the restaurant , while the serving crew is shuttling back and forth between the tables. The menu is divided to small medium and larger sections. And every section is really the same item except slightly larger and much more expensive by comparison. 2. I know this is a business like any other but even cost cutting measure has its limited. The restaurant is geared toward high end business community that can bring potential customers to seal future deals of well to do business travelers to impress an expensive date. Otherwise if your goal is to have a relaxing night , be yourself and not to be forced to leave collar or your shirt or wallet behind, this isn't for general public. 3. The dishonesty relies in the fact that it is not advertised as such. I am a proponent of exercising choice in free economy , provided the true intention of the business is advertised to the public so they can make an informed decision and not to be ambushed by both the service, price and food choice when they step through the door.

Yelp
This place is pretty darn good. It only opened a week a go but on Saturday night they were already turning people away and the place was packed. The menu is apparently meant to change regularly - I love this idea but it may mean my review of the dishes we had is of limited use (other than that they were ALL AWESOME - so really you can't go wrong!). We had the spiced pear, goat curd and walnut toastie to start - sublime flavours but less a 'toastie' and more an amazing salad which suited me fine. We followed with pork larp - spicy, hands-on and so fresh. We followed this with snapper and tune ceviche with pickled fennel, blood orange and pink peppercorns. Food watchers take note this was the healthiest, freashest most gorgeous dish - no gluten or other worries. We backed it up with fried fish wings though, fins and all - like a chip only fishier and amazing when dolloped with jeow and cucumber relish. SO GOOD. By this stage our mouths were singing. I can't get over the freshness of the ingredients - good food that is also good for you. We did finish with both desserts though - a middle eastern yoghurt concoction which was frangrant and unexpected and totally delicious and a chocolate cake. This place was relaxed, unpretenious, all about the food (which, as you can see I totally loved) and full of very happy people - get there!

Yelp
A great vibe and great coffee. My new favourite in Adelaide. I recommend you check it out.

Yelp
With such high expectations was I setting myself up for disappointment? With great company the 15 minute wait for a drink order could be forgiven, the extra 20 minutes with empty drinks before we flagged some one down for another not so easy to swallow. Food was delicious- pork belly and salmon salad standouts albeit very similar flavours. After our food was cleared it just seemed like we were an inconvenience. After reluctantly being offered coffee (gorgeous coffee BTW) then half heartedly offered dessert, the bill was given without us asking for it (golden no no in hospo and missed opportunity to sell more booze to social alcoholics). The waiter then thought it was ok to sit at the table and process the bill ( without banter, invitation or thanks) and then proceeded to bring in and pack up the outside furniture next to us while the restaurant was still a third full. We walked out without acknowledgement or farewell from the 4 staff we passed on the way out. I can usually let it go but the service was so blatantly indifferent and unprofessional that it left a bad taste in our mouths. Charging restaurant prices and dictating 6pm or 8.45 sittings gives the consumer the right to expect more. I know I do.

Yelp
I just love this place. Went for lunch with my daughter last week and could not fault any of the dishes. Obviously some were 'more favourite' than others, but was all just so good. We had three 'smaller' dishes between two of us. We were quite hungry and there was loads of food - to the point where we really wanted to order dessert but just couldn't because we were so full. Next time will only order two because the dessert menu looked awesome. I can't remember exactly what they were called, but ordered a bean mash with loads of fresh herbs and salad greens and walnuts, Armenian Lamb soliders (really good, but perhaps my least favourite as lamb was 'minced' and I was expecting slices or strips) and a prawn and pork belly dish (sauce was just a tad too sweet, but still delicious). What I love about this restaurant is how fresh and wholesome the food is, but still with sophisticated flavours. The service was relaxed but prompt and available when you needed it. We had a lovely glass of an Otago Pinot Noir (something about a Goat, sorry can't remember the brand) which was perfect. I will definitely go back to Peel Street.

Yelp
Short selection of food, very pricy and bad service. Menu list not clear. Good portion though. You can improve it guys!
