Pegasus has two buildings, one is brand new and the other is ancient. I went last year, since I have to travel to Guyana often for work, and I mentioned it was my 1st. Time staying there (I usually stay with their competition). They told me I was getting a nice room in the new building in order to make me come back, and it was a great room indeed. I enjoyed it so much that I booked there again, but this time they gave me a room at the ancient building. And what a terrible experience!!! All furniture looks from the 70's, sheets are almost transparent, and even the smell was so bad that they had to put little scent trees hanging all over the room and bathroom. I complained with management, but they didn't show any interest in putting some effort into helping me. And this is exactly how you lose a customer. I'm never coming back to this hotel, and unless you make sure that your reservation is made at the new building, DO NOT GO THERE!!!... JP

Consistently Excellent for My Business Travel This was my second stay at the Pegasus Hotel in Georgetown, Guyana, and it was even more impressive than the first. The hotel is clean, modern, and well-located near the waterfront. I stayed in the original tower for my first stay and the new tower for this stay. My room was exceptional—quiet, spacious, and comfortable enough to host small business meetings. The staff was outstanding. They greeted me by name, remembered my preferences, and made every effort to ensure my stay was smooth and enjoyable. The breakfast buffet had great variety, and the Aura Sky Lounge was a perfect spot to unwind with a view. Wi-Fi was fast and reliable—ideal for working remotely. Highly recommended for business travelers looking for a welcoming, professional environment in Georgetown.

One of the best and very calm hotel in Georgetown Guyana. We can order nice different varieties of food and have it in good ambience.

I travelled to Guyana in June of 2024 as part of a family reunion. I booked at the Pegasus however I was pleasantly surprised to see I had been upgraded to the new hotel and a suite. As a regular business traveller, I’m used to a decent place and can assure the new Pegasus is on par with any business travel. The suite was amazing, clean and secure. I plan to return and stay next year.

Hotel don't have employees and they have bad service don't have water availability in the room and front desk says come down and get it no room service . Very bad experience there is no staff in pegasus who can bring a bottle of water up in the room. Really very bad experience and bad service front desk hotel service 👎👎👎

From the perspective of a Guyanese living abroad, there are definitely pros and cons to staying here, particularly if you are staying in the old building. Firstly the service of reception and the doormen were top notch, and we enjoyed our early afternoon at the pool with good cocktails. The room itself smells a bit historic but was very clean and had a lovely sea view, would have liked a bit more artwork and character on the sixth floor. Letdowns included that the taxis were unavailable for dinner for 2 hours and they weren’t able to get them externally either so we had to eat there; this might be a Georgetown problem. Also there was no tea available during dinner poolside and I swear the music hadn’t changed since the 90s. It generally felt a bit like a boardjng house with the oil workers coming and going, would probably recommend staying elsewhere as a tourist or upgrading. Looking forward to seeing what they do with the new build.

Got bit by bed bugs all over my feet, definitely would not recommend this hotel. Stayed in the older section and they overcharged for everything. Still recovering from the bites over a month ago, it was awful. Avoid this place at all costs, anywhere would be better.

Our first time in Guyana and we were all disappointed in the hotel. The Pegasus needs to inform their guest about the old hotel to the new one. Need to properly advertise the different hotels.
