We enjoyed our two night stay and would recommend this resort to others! The staff were all wonderful. We stayed through the week so it was pretty quiet. Our room was the two king oceanfront suite that opened up to a shared terrace on the second floor. What a beautiful view and we loved the sitting room. After checking in, we easily got to eat at Ocean 2000 without having to have a reservation. Our server, Matthew, was very attentive and the fillet meal was outstanding! The lazy river was the perfect size for us to relax in. We only had one small issue with not getting cell phone reception in the room (Verizon) but was able to make calls out on the terrace and other places through the hotel. We would certainly stay again!

We have a family tradition of spending the 4th of July on the beach, and this year we chose Pelican Grand Beach Resort—what an amazing decision! From check-in to check-out, everything was top-notch. The beachfront location is unbeatable, and watching the fireworks from our balcony was such a memorable experience. The pool and lazy river area is a bit on the smaller side, and it does close fairly early, but it still gave off cozy and relaxing vibes that we really enjoyed. What truly made our stay exceptional was the staff—they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. We dined at the on-site restaurant for both breakfast and dinner, and our evening server, Mark, was absolutely outstanding. He made our dinner feel extra special with his attentive and friendly service. The views from the resort are just breathtaking, and the overall atmosphere is relaxing and family-friendly. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a beach getaway with great service and beautiful surroundings!

Our family stayed in May over a long weekend. Very nice experience overall. The beach is excellent and we enjoyed having access to the chairs and umbrellas. Also enjoyed taking a break from the ocean by using the pool and lazy river. Excellent service.... Helpful and friendly staff. The rooms are relatively inexpensive, which the hotel definitely makes up for in services, food, and drinks, but those extra costs put it in line with the other hotels in the area. The rooms could use a refresh but nothing egregious. I would stay again, very nice!

Overall a good stay. For the price there are some changes that can be made.||||Loves:||1. The beach staff 10/10||2. The valet/bellhops 10/10||3. Ice cream parlor a nice touch though 1 scoop is $8||4. The views from the oceanfront rooms 10/10||||Cons||1. The cost of valet should be listed on the site. $55/day||2. Housekeeping was the worst part of the stay. We were there for 4 days and never received turn down service after asking 3x. We also had to ask for robes and slippers 5x over 2 days before receiving them.||3. The bathroom was not up to par based on the description online as well as other rooms on the site. We had a tub instead of a stand alone shower, the tub was rusted (room 608) and there were orange stains in the sink.

Google
Great location with seaside/ocean view balcony and steps down from the rocking chair lined porch to the beach. Great sunrise viewing. Staff are friendly from Valet only parking ($55/day), umbrella/chairs/towels at the beach, and chair side food/drink services (tips very appreciated). The room was spacious with a separate lounge room from the bedroom, balcony, and modern amenities bathroom. Mini fridge and snack bar stocked (pay for what you consume). We had dinner in the Lounge by the pool, breakfast in Ocean 2000, and room service dinner (pricey)/Ocean 2000. Overall, very friendly knowledgeable staff, however the food didn't have much flavor. Better food options supporting other local businesses, see Google or Yelp. There is a daily Resort Fee $52 and 20%+ fee automatically added to restaurant bill (401k, training, employee benefits etc. (something like that) ), ti additional. It's a nice place to spend a week or long weekend, good location with the beach & restaurants in the area, and friendly knowledgeable staff.

I just returned from a wonderful stay at the Pelican Grand with my 11 year old daughter. Upon arrival, we were immediately in love with the amazing smell of the lobby and the views looking out onto the ocean. The furniture and foliage in the lobby was beautifully styled. Check in was quick and easy and we were pleasantly surprised that our room was ready since we arrives well before check in time. We stayed in room 428. The room is very spacious and very clean. We loved the huge windows which allowed for an amazing view of the ocean. The patio was a wonderful addition and was very spacious. The room is well appointed and had everything we needed for a lovely stay. Breakfast and dinner at Ocean 2000 was wonderful! A standout was the fresh oysters. |The property is very well maintained and all of the staff we came across were friendly and attentive. The beachfront is also very clean. |We were slightly disappointed that the pool and lazy river were a lot smaller in person than they looked in the pictures, but both were clean and there was enough space for everyone. Speaking of space, on our first day we did have to wait a bit for lounge chairs around the pool but we just sat our stuff to the side and were called over by Donte once chairs became available. Be aware that iguanas roam freely around the pool area but they aren’t a bother. Drinks at the pool were great and the service was friendly. |The gelato available in the hotel shop was so good! They even had a fun scavenger hunt for the kids and live music|I don’t have once complaint about our stay and cannot wait to return to the Pelican.

Google
The service was amazing at the pool and bar area. The hotel assigns a 22% tip on all orders so food and drinks were pricey than I anticipated . The cleanliness of the room was where I was underwhelmed. Housekeeping services didn't do a great job in cleaning the bathroom and don't get me started on the sand. We stayed a week and it seemed like no one vacuumed the room ever. Bedding and sheets were OK.

Google
Amazing location, the resort is right on the beach and you are steps away from the ocean. The pool is also nice and includes a lazy River. The suite we booked had an amazing ocean view. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The valet staff had my car ready fast every time and they even loaded my luggage for me so we could enjoy the pool and beach after check out. The food and drinks were also very good. Downsides are the extra costs of everything. Valet parking is 55 per day and it’s the only option. Food and drinks are also very expensive. Also felt pressured to tip the beach staff, even though the chair service was included with my room. In addition, the pull out sofa bed in the room was very uncomfortable. Overall, it was a great stay and I’d consider staying here again next time I’m in Fort Lauderdale.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were all extremely friendly and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We stayed on-site for the entire duration of our trip and appreciated the convenience of everything being right there. We booked an oceanfront king room with a crib, and the room was clean and well-maintained. The only downside was the high cost of everything, but that's to be expected when staying at a beach resort. One small issue was the mini fridge--it was stocked with items for purchase, so we had to move everything out in order to store milk for our toddler. It would have been nice to have an empty fridge for personal use and a microwave. Another frustration was with the beach chairs. It was annoying that the chair attendants allowed guests to reserve chairs without actually being out on the beach. We were down there with our toddler by 9AM every day, but on Saturday, when the hotel was busier, all the front-row chairs were "taken" even though no one was occupying them. This wasn't an issue during the weekdays or on Sunday. You could tell other guests were annoyed as well. Despite these small inconveniences, we had a great stay overall and will consider returning.

Yelp
Is nice the hotel. Ocean Front. But for example need to improve the cleanliness of the room. Our room for example when I opened one of the drawers was full of shopping bags. In our room that was a nice suite ocean front I discovered 1 fly insect. But is amazing. Live music in the terrace. Staff very nice, friendly.

Anthony O.

Yelp
The pool and lazy river is mad small. But the service was fantastico. The lazy river was still cool don't get me wrong though. The drinks were great and food was amazing too. Overall nice place.

Foodie K.

Yelp
Visited the area just for lunch. We all hail from Naples, FL and Oneonta, NY. Had lunch on the covered deck overlooking the ocean. Service was great. The views were phenomenal, entrees were very good. Our serve Renford was the best! The place is beautiful and I look forward to bringing our friends from Naples to check this place out. Enjoyed our time here a few hours.

Tabitha R.

Yelp
On arrival we were warmly greeted, bags whisked away and were told our room would be ready soon. We arrived around 10 so we had no expectations of it being ready. I wish the front desk gave us a little info on the property as we didn't know everything was handled by staff at beach/pool ect. We were helped to chairs and an umbrella beachside by the wonderful Adam. He was smiles all week and super attentive. Gave us great dinner recs one day too. On finally getting our room I was pleasantly surprised how spacious it was. two doubles with a second room and pull out couch. large bathroom with delicious smelling bath products. Everything was clean and well maintained. I loved the art and furnishings in the room. Balcony overlooked the ocean and only complaint was that you could hear bar music at night as we were third floor but not enough to be bothersome. Ate lunch at restaurant one day. It took forever but the food was actually really good so we let the timing slide. Word of advice, order from the beach/pool attendants for just as great of service without the wasted time. My only complaint is that this property touts itself as luxury. I have stayed at their sister property in Key West and this resort needs to find the front desk hospitality that its other properties have to make it truly match its desired audience. Customer service, attention to detail, and overall kindness/smiles are completely lost on the front desk staff. They are almost pained to answer the phones and you can feel the eye roll when a request is made. The valet team, pool staff, and beach crew are all so amazingly helpful and friendly that you feel it more inside when the desk staff are not. Absolutely will be back as we loved our suite and ambiance all week!

Jen K.

Yelp
Definitely would NOT recommend. The only people who actually smile and are nice are The Beach Crew who set up your chairs and tents. The rest of the staff HORRIBLE!!!! They make 22% tip on every single bill so they don't care to check on you in the restaurant to see if your food came out alright or if you need a refill. I've never seen such horrible service and am blown away that they even call themselves a resort. What kind of place charges a 22% tip fee automatically?! I've never experience that before. But if you've made it this far I will continue to tell you how my trip went. First we arrived early by 2 hours we were told you can use the amenities but we didn't have swim suits on and everything was in our luggage with no where to change. The bell men took our luggage anyways. I asked again after waiting an hour if the room was ready and was told no. That they're booked out but when I went on their website you could book the same room we had for that night ..... strange right.... Finally we get in our room around 3:40. were told the bellman will bring our stuff up to the room... our one backpack is missing and it takes them over 30 minutes to find. Which was insane and the front desk kept ignoring our calls to ask what's going on. Finally they answer and the guy knocks on the door but while I ah e them on the phone I mention the room is set to 70 and it's too hot so they said we'll have to send an engineer up to fix it I said okay sounds good. No one shows up... I go to take a shower and now the water is up to my ankles over flowing into the toilet area I panic call down and text them letting them know. Once again I'm told well have to send an engineer so I said yeah I heard that before and no one came. He goes you have to be in your room for them to service it's been 3 hours I haven't left my room since the last call so LIES. The engineer comes fixes our shower but used the towel in our room to wipe his tools and puts the towel back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I hadn't been standing there watching we wouldn't have ever known!!!!!!! How disgusting !!!!! The next day we think we'll go swimming at night in the lazy river nope no that's turned off so I said okay we'll just go in the pool apparently you need to grab towels before the staff is done for the day or else you can't get towels. I mean we're at a "RESORT" right?!?!? I finally say something to the manager she tells me about the plumbing system in a hotel as if I should have done my research to understand why the shower was backed up... umm no to me this means the cleaning crew isn't properly cleaning making sure everything works before letting guest in but sure okay blame me for not understanding the plumbing system. The manager tells us she's going to see what she can do for us when we check out. We check out a few days later I mention it to the front desk she said nope no notes here can't do anything for you but you can call back. What a joke that was cause every time I have called since I'm places on hold for over 20 mins forcing me to just give up and hang up. I don't recommend this hotel that identifies as a resort when clearly they don't have resort experience. Whatever you do don't book here like I did.

Lihi M.

Yelp
Had a great lunch at the pelican. Great food, fresh seafood and fish, good cocktails, and excellent views !!!! Portions are quite small but it was enough for us.

Ligia M.

Yelp
This review is for the restaurant, not for the hotel. I love it here. This is one of the best ocean view places. It looks very chill but incredible views and a touch of old fashioned romance. You almost forget about the food, because the place is so enchanting.

Tommy M.

Yelp
We are not staying here. Our president's circle winners are. The staff is super polite, helpful and truly good above and beyond to assure you're well taken care of. The views and hotel are amazing. Great choice for us to have our event here.

Amy R.

Yelp
The Pelican offers everything! Location, upscale accommodations, and superior amenities! However, it is the staff that really sets this place far above the rest! The front desk, THE VALET STAFF, the cleaning staff, and FANTASTIC FRANK out on the beach are why we continue to come back! When in Fort Lauderdale, the Pelican is the place to be!!! 11/10 recommend!!

Melissa B.

Yelp
My friend and I had a resort pass for the day. We paid over $100 for the pass it was not worth it. You still have to pay for valet that was $50. Parking should have been included. Then we went to have drinks and the bar tender said the bar was being renovated and they did not have any frozen drinks. I asked for different drinks and they did not have anything we wanted or what was listed on the menu. With the day pass food and drinks were supposed to be 15% off and we got charged the full price. Bartender did not even say he was leaving and never cashed us out. When my friend looked at her cc he charged full amount and it was $20 for a terrible drink that they made for having nothing they should not have charged us more for barcadi or other brands. My friend and I are very dissappointed in this hotel. We will never go there again.

Dosha B.

Yelp
My recent stay at the Pelican Grand Beach resort was amazing! The place is clean, very friendly environment, and the food was delicious! I had room service most of the time with phenomenal service.

Mike R.

Yelp
Pelican Grand sits beautifully on the beach with a view that is picture perfect. Ocean 2000 is the restaurant on site and O2K is the pool bar. Both have a great cocktail menu and the food is delectable. They have a pool and a lazy river to float thru. The rooms are nice and updated. We go here just for a weekend or a place to take friends to dinner. Enjoy!

Dianne B.

Yelp
The food was amazing. Some of the best seafood I've ever ever had. It was fresh and delicious. Very flavorful. Our server. Carlos was so kind and attentive. He went above and beyond to make our experience nice. Morgan, the host was so kind and sweet. She really made us feel welcome. I would recommend this place to all my friends. It was spectacular.

Cory M.

Yelp
This place is a complete and total SCAM! From the moment we walked through those doors to the moment we left, we could feel they were desperate for money. They charge you a whopping $48/ day to have your car valeted, and they put an egregious $750 hold on your credit card for incidentals. We also had to wait two hours to check in because their system was down, which according to other reviews happens almost daily. When we got up to our room, they have waters bedside that you have to pay $4 for, and more waters by the mini bar that you have to pay $7 for. Hidden by the patio are the two free water options. The bar and food options are extremely expensive, but very tasty, and our bartender was a diamond caught in the rough. They charge a ridiculous 22% hospitality fee in lieu of the traditional tip on everything, so beware of that. The day we left, every single elevator was down. (Apparently the public restroom was more important and needed updated, rather than fixing the elevators). Upon check out, we received our bill, and were charged $869 for not only food, drinks, and the valet, but we were also charged nearly $50 a day for the resort fee. (This place is in no way shape or form a resort. It's a hotel). We were also charged $38.70 for the mini bar which we did not touch once. The front desk attendant was arguing with us when I brought that to her attention, but ultimately gave us the refund, after speaking with her manager that was hiding in the back. Okay rant over, do not stay here.

Stephen P.

Yelp
Overpriced, staff member on the beach was very nasty toward my wife. Would not recommend this hotel as there are many others in the area with top notch service.

Netra A.

Yelp
Tony was our server and Peter parked our car. The ambience was great. We enjoyed being able to sit near the water and have our meal. Our food was served at the perfect temperature and we all enjoyed the taste and texture of everything. We really enjoyed the drinks as well. One of our party couldn't find anything to eat but everyone else was fine. Highly recommend to enjoy a nice view with a great meal. Make a reservation so you can sit outside.

Rosy A.

Yelp
The food and beverage manager kevin is extremely ineffective. I'm staying at the hotel, and I was trying to sit outside for dinner and they said that they couldn't sit me outside bc I didnt where have a reservations., however, i went outside and there were 10 empty tables and 45 minutes later I go outside and there were still 10 empty tables! Kevin could've accommodated us as hotel quests and given us one of the 10 empty tables. I'm sure that by the time they're alleged reservations would get here we will be gone ! In fact, I'm leaving now and there's still 10 empty tables outside after I had dinner inside by the kitchen. After I paid to stay in this hotel, This is the treatment I got for people that had reservations and didn't even show up. They have better service than I did.. bad management

Mindy S.

Yelp
Great location, nice rooms. Incredibly over priced food, drinks and valet. Especially for the quality. Crazy 22% tip automatically added to every bill. I swayed it feels like a price gauge here. For a luxury hotel and pricing it needs to be updated badly. Dirty pool, broken items in bathroom. Just poorly maintained. Would expect more for a luxury hotel at this price. Also gross that the beach was so dirty with garbage at the end of the day. People should I pick up after themselves, but the staff should help if something was forgotten. So much garbage lying around!

Gary M.

Yelp
Update - I received an email from the manager saying that they were going to follow up. They never did - so disappointing! I am so disappointed with the staff here. They were rude, spiteful, and very snooty, yes it's an expensive place, but the staff shouldn't be snooty. They also closed the bar at 11 on New Years, they also lied about what new years was going to be like. The view and beach were awesome. The large bathroom is totally open, very little privacy and due to the poor design, it was very cold. To top it off, we waited 90 minutes for breakfast the day we were checking out and now we'll be late for our plane.

Kayla M.

Yelp
My mom and I visited Fort Lauderdale on a short 4-day vacation and had a pretty pleasant stay. The valets and concierge, although we were not expecting this hotel to have them but we ended up being glad that service was available, were very friendly and prompt with their assistance. The bartenders also knew their stuff, whipping up our favorite drink to perfection, and they actually added a decent amount of spirits to their cocktails to let one otherwise overpriced drink go a long way. The best part of this entire experience was, of course, the location: right on the beach. They have their own stretch of beach with beach chairs and umbrellas that you don't even have to drag out and put away yourself. It was also a nice walk on the beach. Our room was listed as an "ocean view", with our 8th floor balcony overlooking the pool, but the ocean was just to our right. However, 3 bay windows in our room looked straight out to sea. Even with our balcony door shut, you could still fall asleep to the crashing waves. Housekeeping was also phenomenal, although by the way some of them acted, they probably got yelled at a lot. The biggest hassle while I was there was the elevators being down for some of our stay, which by being on the 8th floor with my mom unable to climb stairs, anyone could see how that could be a problem. But repairs must be carried out sometime.

Kendall W.

Yelp
We loved our stay here. We stayed two nights in a superior king sweet. The room was clean, spacious and had a wonderful view. The pools and beach were great. Loved the easy access to both. I enjoyed being able to call for my car online rather than a phone call from valet. We ate dinner at Ocean2000 and both loved our meal. I had wagyu filet and my husband the sea bass. We had a couples massage/ facial at the Pure spa which was wonderful. The service room had a 180 of the ocean and was bright as opposed to most spa rooms being dark. Services were done nicely and we both felt relaxed after leaving. Some suggestions or "cons" of our trip. - Staffing & towels. While most staff onsite were helpful and polite, some beach staff were lazy. When we first arrived we asked for towels, but they were out. This reoccurred almost daily of not having towels when you first need them. The guys weren't super helpful in trying to find some and rather sat there. - We loved our food, but the hostess stand was very noisy/ laughing while we were enjoying a nice dinner. Not really expected somewhere with this price tag. Room service was good, but the person taking the orders over the phone was not very helpful and messed up a few things over the days there. Online ordering would be much easier. - parking cost seemed really high. $47 plus tax a day which is separate from resort fee.

Yelp
Attending the Christmas dinner buffet at the Pelican Grand, a venue with personal significance to our family, was an experience marred by profound disappointment. Despite previous pleasant visits, including a memorable family wedding, our recent encounter at their much-anticipated buffet was disheartening. With a reservation at 1:30 PM, we anticipated a fresh and sumptuous spread. However, the reality was starkly different. The buffet presented a dismal sight, appearing extensively picked over. The bread, a basic staple, was noticeably stale, contradicting any notion of it being freshly baked that day. The carving station, typically a highlight, offered prime rib and ham. Regrettably, the prime rib was excessively fatty, and the ham slices were disappointingly small. The pasta station further diminished our experience; it was evident that the marinara sauce was not homemade, but rather a substandard jarred variety. Waffles, a usually delightful treat, were overcooked, hard, and served cold, adding to the series of culinary letdowns. This entire Christmas dinner experience felt like a careless afterthought rather than a festive celebration. Financially, the meal was steeply priced at $120 per adult and $50 per child, with an automatic 22% gratuity included. This pricing would have been justifiable had the quality and service matched, but sadly, it was far from it. The decline in standards at Pelyk Grand is alarming, and it's disheartening to see such a reputable place lose its charm and quality. The outcome was so unsatisfactory that we resorted to ordering from Uber Eats mere hours later, still hungry and discontented. The management at pelican Grand should critically reassess their offerings, as their current state is not only disappointing but also unacceptable for a venue of their stature.

Rebecca P.

Yelp
We booked for Mother's Day only to have the waterfront restaurant CLOSED because they did lunch. Like WHAT? A business this big? The main reason we did this was to be able to eat on the beach tonight and I can't do that. The amount of people that are complaining is crazy! About everything, rooms not being ready, things not being done. Lunch being ruined for moms. Ridiculous. And watching the general manager do NOTHING to help is insane. No empathy no nothing. Just a blank stare as people complain.

Eve G.

Yelp
For $900 a night, this hotel didn't come close to meeting expectations. Upon arrival it was clear that something was up. That something turned out to be a system-wide technology failure that affected everything from the front desk to the food ordering station. We were told of the outage at check in and were required to complete a paper form with credit card information that we were assured would be destroyed by management after the system came back up. We were asked for a phone number so we could be texted when our room was ready and directed to the bar area to wait. We found a table outside on the porch and despite a server walking past us at least four times, we were not approached for a drink order. After walking inside to find a server, Hailey took our order. Or should I say took ONE order, struggling to understand "No vermouth", and abruptly walked away. After waiting 31 minutes (we checked) we finally got up and left. Our room text arrived a couple minutes later and we went to the front desk where Oscar gave us our room keys. I specifically asked, "this room has two beds, correct?" and he said "Yes it does". We got up to the room to find one king bed. Back downstairs we went. We found Oscar and told him the room had only one bed. He replied, "our computer system is down and I could not tell if the room had one bed or two. Nothing I can do about it." The front desk manager eventually found a room with two beds along with an apology that the computer system was down. The highlight of the visit was Dawn the baggage assistant who helped us up to our room. She was the epitome of class, grace and the level of service we were expecting. When we told her about the bar fiasco, she took us to the front desk and told us to ask to speak to the food and beverage manager. She was proactive about identifying a problem and directing us to the person who could resolve it. BRAVO, Dawn. You are a true leader and a professional. Things at the front desk didn't improve. The front desk manager told us the food and beverage manager was unavailable but would call us promptly. We left for dinner (we had intended to eat at the hotel restaurant, but with the technology issues, weren't confident that our orders would be correct). Three hours later back at the hotel and still no phone call from the manager. Another visit to the front desk to ask for him and he finally arrived, offering the computer system outage as an apology. He comped a bottle of wine for the inconvenience. Computer problems are understandable. What is not understandable is a hotel that charges these prices not having a plan in place for when they happen. And computer problems aside, there is no excuse for lack of service or poor employee attitudes. Kudos to Dawn once again for excellent service. The room itself had a beautiful view of the ocean, the beds were comfortable, towels were big and clean. Be aware that the noise level from the outside corridors can be loud and if you're a light sleeper, ear plugs and an eye mask will help. Note that the tiles in the shower are large and slippery when wet. I put down a hand towel to make sure I didn't fall. There was no notepad and pen in the room and we missed that. Overall, there are many other hotels on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale at this price point that may be worth a look.

Yelp
A life worth living celebration lunch overlooking the Atlantic Ocean with sailboats on the horizon, people from around the world in beach resort Attire l!

Laura F.

Yelp
This place is a very upscale beautiful resort! The staff is top notch! The valet and bar tenders can not be beat! The beach staff and all off the staff are very nice, friendly, and real!! The rooms were wonderfully decorated and the housekeeping staff kept them shining! I would recommend Pelican to everyone!!!!

Lan T.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel very nice room friendly staff breakfasts with the beach view is love this place

Robin J.

Yelp
The ocean view was beautiful, but Easter Brunch was a huge disappointment! At $105 per person, cost for 4 came to $679!!! Rip off!! $25 for water ...$50 for bloody Mary's that we thought were included...oysters were muddy and inedible...peel and eat shrimp were room temperature and was given 3 (shrimp and oysters were not self serve.) Prime rib sliced paper thin. At 1:30 pm, lots of empty unattended serving bowls...fruit platter - lots of melon with green rind not cut off...counted 5 blackberries and four raspberries on whole fruit platter. Desserts skimpy and disappointing. This felt like a Sizzler buffet at a Ritz price. Never again! Should've gone to NYY Steak like last year, for $90pp - included fresh shucked oysters, jumbo shrimp, snow crab legs and a 16 Oz dry aged ribeye and choice of bottomless cocktails and impeccable service.

Yelp
So we stayed here 1 night after our company meeting. Everything was great, and I meant everything until I went to use the shower. Why is the water not draining??? Why is no one answering at guest services nor the concierge desk. I'm totally disappointed. I thought asking for free bottle water was an easy ask for our troubles, but NO says the guy at the front desk. Please bring back the customer service pretty please.

Yelp
Not worth the money. Staying in a room that is over $1,000.00. a night. VIP Suite, lol. They had a wedding on the floor above me and it was blasting music, dancing on our heads and sounded like moving furniture all night with a DJ screaming. Spoke with Jackie at the front desk. They knew they were having a wedding, knowing how loud it would be over our heads and still gave us this suite. Jackie did nothing. In the morning I called the front desk to have 3 chairs set up(VIP service) at first the girl said go downstairs and tell them. I called again and was told the request was sent. Looking out my balcony I could see the chairs were never set up. The man working there said they didn't hold them because I didn't come down! He never set them up. Oh and then he hands me a card and tells me he works on tips! He didn't even give me towels! When I asked him for towels he said ok I can do that for you. Everyone has 2 towels he gave me one and only after I asked. FYI Pelican Grand, this is NOT a VIP experience. I would have put no stars if that was an option.

Yelp
The resort is pretty and is perfectly located right on a lovely stretch of beach. The rocking chairs on the veranda are delightful. These are the only reasons the rating is not 1-star. The service is terrible and the place is not well run. We reserved two "superior suites" for 4 nights and requested that the rooms be near each other. They were located two floors apart and no attempt was made to accommodate our request. The rooms were not well maintained. For example, a ceiling fan was broken and despite our repeated requests to have it fixed throughout our stay, it was never repaired. The fan was also covered with dust (see photo), and there were cobwebs on the ceiling. The toilet paper holder was falling off the wall and had to be fixed during our stay. The pull-rods on the blinds were broken as well and had to be replaced with longer ones that we could reach without standing on a chair. The rep who checked us in never told us about the available amenities or what was included in the $35/night/room resort fee. We had to find this information on the resort's website and ask about it. For example, we were entitled to $10/day discount at the restaurant and practically had to beg for the vouchers. We weren't told about the beach chair set-up and availability of bottled water on the beach. I guess the resort preferred to sell us the same bottles from the room refrigerator @ $3 each rather than tell us about the free bottled water. Deceptive! We had both dinner and breakfast at the Ocean2000 restaurant. The food was decent although a bit salty. The prices were way too high. We asked for some rolls to accompany our dinner, and when we got the bill we found out they charged $4 for a handful of stale rolls. We requested chicken instead of lobster on the lobster mac & cheese, and we were charged the same $18. Ugh! The nearby restaurants offer a much better value. The fitness center was small and not well equipped. It was not serviced every day and they ran out of clean towels and water cups. Unacceptable! Upon check-out, we requested a discount for the numerous repair and service issues. We were initially offered only a restaurant coupon or a voucher for a future stay. We refused both (we were leaving and not coming back), and were finally able to negotiate a reduction in our room rate. Come for the view.... but don't stay for the service or quality of the facilities. Overall, I do not recommend this resort.

Yelp
We LOVED this place! The porch is amazing, the food great, we loved the pool and the lazy River. The service was OUTSTANDING! (Rick and Jannie were incredible) -- we had such a great time!

Yelp
Spent the day at this hotel after purchasing a resort pass. We had a really good day. We took full advantage of the pool, lazy river, and food and drink service. Our waiter, Blaze (Blaize?) was a true highlight for us. He was attentive, funny, and really helpful. Pelican Grand, give him a raise! I can't speak to the rooms, but the food was great and they let you being your drinks in the lazy river. 5 stars!

Yelp
I have been to the Pelican Grand for lunches, birthday brunches, evening cocktails. It's always been a lovely experience with the ocean view and varied menu. But when I was there recently, we were charged whopping 22% Hospitality Fee which didn't include the tip! Too bad I really enjoyed going there through the years but I won't be returning. That was ridiculous.

Yelp
We loved our stay. The service all around, from the front desk to the valets to the pool/beach staff to the restaurant staff were all friendly and attentive. The resort feels far from things in a good way and the private/direct beach access was the best part. Towels, beach toys, boogie boards were available. Our kids had a blast!! Oh, and the funky fish ocean camp is a win. It wasn't clear on the resort website, but there is a fee/cost and should be booked in advance directly with funky fish ocean camp because they will only run the camp at the resort if there's a minimum number of campers. The spa was also wonderful! And we should have eaten all our meals at ocean 2000. We only ate our last couple meals there and it was better-tasting and higher quality than the other restaurants in fort Lauderdale that we tried (that were higher rated on Yelp).

Yelp
Stayed here for three nights, i enjoyed every bit of it. Staff was friendly and helpful. Always take note that resorts like this the staff will be running around trying to help plenty of guest and some guest will be holding up other guest so just be patient. The Valet phone text system thing is pretty handy. I suggest parking on the street if you know you're always gonna go out with the car "pay parking with an app" the beach area is pretty cool. Beach staff was running around helping families of like 10 try to figure out what they want in the heat, so i dont blame them if they're not at the towel area yet. I haven't tried the restaurant inside the resort. But my overall experience was great, i would recommend this place to my friends. My only complaint is when its quiet the toilet flush do be loud or maybe its just me.

Yelp
Terrible costumer service!!! Manager very rude! The manager have very bad attitude!! Please change the manager!!!

Ellie S.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars I would have. This resort falsely advertises their brunch then berates their non wealthy customers when they cal them out on it. The management ignored all emails and also ignored Better Business Bureau Complaint. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! They charge ridiculous prices. Do not provide items that they advertise... Food is sitting around for close to an hour under heat lamps before being served to guests... For the ridiculous price of ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY FIVE DOLLARS!!! and if you dare say something, you will be bullied by manager on site, then ignored by the general manager. Absolutely disgraceful Many other choices then this horrible, overpriced overrated dump.

Yelp
If and when you ever stop by or stay at The Pelican Grand you must go to the rooftop with a glass of wine. That's exactly how we were told and it did not disappoint. The only reason it lost a star is because only one car is permitted per room and we took separate cars. The parking is a hit or miss and your miss could be 10 blocks down which kinda dampens your stay. Also, the lazy river is literally around the pool BUT it is still a lazy river. The service around the pool is also a bit slow and no service on the beach. The view, the ambiance, the restaurant, and the parlor are sooo worth it.

Yelp
If you are looking for a nice, quiet, comfortable beachside resort with all of the amenities, this is the spot for you! Full disclosure: this is one of my favorite local resorts. The rooms are nice, the view is impeccable, the lazy river is ideal for the kids, and the beach is wonderful. As far as parking goes, you can pay the valet, or try to find metered street parking. Once in, Pelican has a southern beach charm to it. Washed with shades of whites and blues, you are welcomed by a staircase and lobby that invites you to kick off your shoes, bury your toes in the sand, and let the ocean tides wash your stress away. After checking in and getting to the rooms, the beach views are fabulous. The balcony has more than enough privacy to enjoy yourself, and the room size is more than enough to not feel crowded. If you get a larger room, it will have a separate living area that is broken up by french doors so if someone wants to sleep while someone wants to watch tv, enjoy the ocean, and stay up a little later, they can do it without any disruption. As far as amenities, there is a 0 entry pool, lazy river, full bar, full restaurant, gift shop, ice cream parlor, full beach umbrella/lawn chair service, and lots of large rocking chairs to enjoy the sunrises and ocean view with good company. They even have a few gas firepits where you can sit and chat until the sun comes up. The bar closes at midnight, but you can enjoy the rest of the options as late as you'd like. The staff is welcoming and accommodating, leaving you feeling welcome and valued. The other guests are friendly and polite, which has led us to always feel comfortable. If you want to find a reason to complain about something, I am sure you can. If you want to relax, enjoy the beach, take in the amenities, and have a great little trip to the North side of Ft. Lauderdale beach, then this is the place to check out. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
The resort as a whole is beautiful. The rocking chairs outside are probably one of my favorite things. Sitting outside with a cocktail, watching the sunset, it's perfect. I think what's amazing about this hotel is the location. You're not too far from the action (beach, bars, food) but just enough that you can relax. Plus side, no busy beach. They have a gentleman that's outside who takes care of your chairs/umbrella. He's wonderful. If you're not interested in the beach, you have a pool which is kind of built like a lounge. You can lay in the pool or swim. They also have their famous lazy river. I spent plenty of time just letting the water take me away. The downfall is sometimes the children get rowdy and takes away from the relaxation, but that's life. Their O2K bar inside is nice and their prices aren't that bad but truthfully not worth it when you can come for Happy Hour (4-7 pm and 50% off). They have a wonderful cocktail menu! My boyfriend always gets the sidecar (no longer on the menu but they still make it for him) and I get the passion fruit margarita. Their cocktail menu has changed a couple of times since we've been. Get their Tropical Nachos! The nachos are FAB. Thick chips piled high with pineapple salsa, cotija cheese, jalapenos, and a three-cheese sauce. We always sub the pork for chicken. The Tido's Jumbo Wings are soooo good too, try their honey-tequila-lime.

Yelp
Excellent ambience! Had a wonderful time this holiday weekend spending time with friends at the bar. The bartender Fran was amazing, made us feel so welcomed and comfortable. Because of her I will be back next year for sure.

Yelp
whatever you do---- do not stay on the 11th floor------ this was supposed to be an upgrade and we were in room 1118. right next to the banquet room! unbelievably loud for 3 hours straight. this went on to some extent every night. will be asking for resort fee to be waived !!!!!!No soundproofing whatsoever

Yelp
I have stayed here five times, 4 times on a business trip, and once I brought my kids to vacation a few days. Here is my conclusion, because I tend to always give everyone a benefit of a doubt. Rooms and views are ok for the price, BUT every single stay the noise from the hallways was insane, early hours of the morning too. It was maintenance two times that disrupted our sleep and room cleaning every single time. They start cleaning rooms at 7:30 am, extremely loud with their carts and are absolutely unapologetic about it when it is brought to their attention. Beach attendants are absolutely fantastic- very attentive, service oriented and just a pleasure to talk to. Restaurant's food is ok, nothing to write home about, prices are fine for the quality. Restaurant staff were a hit and a miss, unimpressed. Bell service and parking attendees were great, except once, I was berated by one of them, for carrying my own suitcase up the stairs, he said - "thanks for taking that tip away from me", pure insanity. Now, I left the best for last, the desk staff - every single one (!!!!) is unprofessional! Most are rude, unhelpful, immediately work up an attitude should you question anything at all. I travel quite a lot and I will say that this- Pelican Grand wins a Grand prize for most horrible customer service, and the winners are: front desk, manager, masseuse, restaurant hostess, housekeepers (specifically morning room cleaning shift). There are many stories that I can specifically call out and present to the audiences's attention, but I won't, I'll simply say this- take your money and spend it some place else, as this is a blatant misrepresentation of the product you are being sold and what you actually get for your buck. You are being sold a Rolls-Royce, but you get a moped at the very best!

Yelp
This is the 5 time here and we stayed two days after the cruise. We were on the 10 th floor. We were trying to beat the crowds at the airport. Took an Uber from cruise terminal to hotel. This is one of the few hotels on the beach. Food and drinks are a little high but it is a tourist town and the Snowbirds were everywhere. Spent some time on the beach with a metal detector. The chairs and beach of well organized. This is one of the few hotels with daily room service. Great staff. Lilly in the bar was great. Ate breakfast outside and it was great. Lots of updates since we visited last. We will be back from Texas to visit again.

Yelp
Checked into the Pelican Grand for a week while we were having work done to our house. Very glad we did, the whole staff could not have been more accommodating, helpful and professional. The Ocean view room was fantastic. Room Service, the Restaurant and the Lounge were all Great,Excellent Service and Food! The whole time looking out at the Beautiful Atlantic Ocean and feeling right at Home! Great place to stay.
