Pelican Reef Villas Resort

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Pelican Reef Villas delivers hospitality at the highest level. The staff—led by the outstanding Tris—set the tone for a truly seamless experience. They handle everything with professionalism and warmth: excursions, golf cart rentals, plane reservations, and more. You feel completely taken care of, allowing you to relax from day one. The location is equally impressive. Set right on the beach just south of San Pedro, the property strikes the perfect balance between tranquility and access. The private pier is a standout—ideal for sunbathing, snorkeling, or hopping directly onto a Tuff E Nuff boat charter. You’re far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet, yet only a 20-minute golf cart ride from the energy, dining, and nightlife of San Pedro. The villas themselves are personal condos/airbnb (not hotel rooms) - spacious, beautifully appointed, and thoughtfully designed with full kitchens. Everything feels comfortable, intentional, and easy, whether you’re staying for a few nights or settling in longer. Belize has captured my heart—and it all started with the people at Pelican Reef Villas. An exceptional stay in every sense, and a place I cannot recommend highly enough.

Where to start - this place was amazing. Getting there was relatively easy, it’s about a 15 minute golf cart ride from the port or the airport, slightly less in the car. The resort picked us up from the port in a minivan so we could take all the luggage. Tris was wonderful in helping us coordinate activities and reservations, and answering a hundred silly questions. He also assisted me in borrowing the kayaks, paddle boards, and bicycles from the villa. Overall it was a quieter part of town though not too far away from the center, they had a roped off area at the end of the dock that had a “reef” on it and we saw all sorts of creatures with snorkels on. Other notes - - our unit had a washer and dryer, it was loud and the dryer took two cycles to dry clothes fully but worked fine - Breakfast every morning was included in the price though it seems like there was a limited menu after breakfast so be aware of that if you’re looking for snacks. All of the food was excellent. - There was a “stockpile” or leftover sunscreen and bug spray that any guest was welcome to use, so you may not need to buy more when you go. - The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, blender, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, toaster. - they had a security guard at night, although that seemed standard for all of the hotels around us - watch out for the sandflies! We had many bites by the end of day 7 so I would spray down with bug spray especially if you’re planning to lounge in the sand Wonderful experience, wonderful host, will Definitely be staying again when we come back.

We simply can't say enough good things about Pelican Reef Villas. The staff (Tris!!!), were all incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely nice. The facilities are top-notch, starting with the room, and the details that really matter-matching sets of silverware, no rusty odds and ends microwave, refrigerator, cupboards, drawers-spotless the bedrooms were spacious with separate baths. |We had a pool-view room, ground floor, right off the breakfast/lunch area, and it was perfect. Walk right out and into the pool, or the dock leading to a swim area, with hammocks, and sturdy, comfortable beach furniture. |I was initially concerned about our proximity to an oft-used area, but it was never a problem, as the hotel has politely enforced quiet hours from 9 pm on. Even during the day, the quality of the rooms, and the solidity and insulation of windows and doors meant the room could be a very restful, quiet, cool space to escape from the sun for a bit.|Pro tip-let the hotel make all of your arrangements, including getting to and from Ambergris Cay. I made the mistake in assuming I knew better, and that a ferry ride would be more fun than flying. It was not, and from there on in I relied on the manager/concierge/boss (who never sleeps, btw) for everything from golf cart rentals to dinner reservations, snorkeling trips, and an unforgettable trip to the mainland to visit Mayan ruins and an amazing amount of native flora and fauna. Howler Monkeys! |All the excursions felt very safe, and the guides were outstanding; friendly and knowledgeable. |Just let them make the arrangements, you're on vacation and they know exactly what they're doing.|So much more, but here's our way of putting the stamp of approval; we'll be back next year, without a doubt. It's that good.

Incredible location about 2km from the town of San Pedro and easily to travel around by the golf buggy they sorted for us. Spectacular beach and dock for sunbathing, swimming and even star gazing. Breakfast is included - French toast is spectacular. Lunch and bar are great and all reasonably priced. We organized trips to see sharks, snorkel with manatees and turtles - all brilliant. But the best thing of all are the incredible people who work here; couldn’t do enough to help us and wonderful fun!!! Thanks so much.

We travelled to Belize with our family for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary celebration. This was a return trip to Pelican Reef for some members of our group. Tris and the entire staff at Pelican Reef were wonderful. We were greated with welcoming smiles and cool drinks after a very long travel day. They were always available to answer any questions. The breakfast is always top notch and the staff are quick and efficient. We never wanted for anything because they were always right there. The property is stunning and the rooms are clean and fully stocked with more than we could need. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. The villas are south of town and noise is never an issue. Belize holds a piece of my heart and I cannot wait to return.

We had the best time at Pelican Reef! The grounds are beautiful, and the condo was absolutely amazing and had everything we could possibly need. The location is perfect....far enough out to be serene, but close enough to bars and restaurants that are easily accessible via a golf cart. The location is a show stopper, but what makes it really special is the staff. From Tris to Elsa to Enrique to.....I mean, the list goes on and on. They go well above and beyond to ensure that you are taken care of and that your vacation is completely seamless. From booking reservations, to booking excursions, assisting with golf cart emergencies....they do it all! And always with a smile on their face. The entire team at Pelican Reef is just amazing. The food is fresh and incredible, and the drinks are innovative and refreshing. We can't wait to go back!

We (myself + parents) spent 6 nights in a 2BR villa at Pelican Reef and our stay was out of this world! ||Every single detail from the initial booking to checkout and everything in between was handled flawlessly by Tristian. He helped arrange local transport + local airfare, booked all of our fantastic excursions and dinner reservations.||Our villa was clean, spacious and well equipped.||There is ample space on the deck for sunbathing and taking a dip if you are going to stay at the resort for the day. They had kayaks and SUPs.||My beach massage was impeccable!||We ate breakfast (included) at the resort each morning and everyone was so attentive and friendly. The food was great too!||We would love to return here next year!

5 night stay. We meet people who stay there every trip. The unit was perfect. Clean and comfortable and well equiped. The service is the best from the bartenders to the wait staff. Just let Tristan handle everything for you. Close enough to town but far enough not to be in the golf cart crazyness. There are a couple restaurants and bars nearby. Take a ride further south aamd find the boat bar Will go back
