Pelican Reef Villas Resort

Pelican Reef was a wonderful place to stay on San Pedro. The condos are spacious, air-conditioned, and very clean. The free breakfasts were cost-efficient and delicious! The staff at Pelican Reef made our experience exceptional. From the friendly bar tenders to the guest experience staff, they were all A+s! They recommended and booked all of our local travel and expeditions. They did the planning, and we had the fun! I will definitely visit this resort again.

What a wonderful time at the pelican reef villas. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The are was beautiful, clean and roomy. Mildred was exceptional and helped us to set up taxis, golf carts, etc. Carlos/Enrique at the bar were attentive and gave suggestions on where we should visit and the best times to visit. We snorkeled, swam at secret beach and visited downtown San Pedro. All highly recommended. Would love to go back one day. Thank you !!!

The team at PRV took excellent care of my family and made our stay really comfortable and easy. Tristan, Mildred, and Ian in the front office patiently answered all kinds of questions and set up (and customized) several excursions and meal reservations. They also helped coordinate little details like meeting the golf cart folks when they came to swap out our cart when it had a flat. ||The space was nice and big - two bedrooms and two bathrooms and they even took note of the fact that we had two kids and set up a decent air mattress (fully made up) so they kids wouldn't have to sleep together in a queen bed. The villa was nicely furnished and our beachfront view directly overlooked the beach and sea. ||There are very few traditional beaches on Ambergris Caye - PRV has a wall separating the sand from the water like many places do. The sargassum was better on some days than others but we rarely smelled it.||The pool and restaurant/bar were pleasant places to hang out. Like anywhere, there are guests who don't consider everyone's needs and get drunk/loud, smoke close to others, etc., but that's not the resort's fault. You may see pictures of a pool with a slide and hot tub next to it but those elements are no longer there, probably for the better.||The food is pleasant and we had breakfast included in our package, which was a great value as even the limited menu was tasty enough for us not to feel like we had to venture out anywhere else and pay for the meal.||The road from San Pedro is ok (with plenty of speed control bumps and drainage troughs), but the last kilometer or so is really rough and takes some careful navigation to avoid rattling your bones in a golf cart. It's about a 15-20 minute ride to town from the resort. Secret Beach took us an hour by golf cart, but it wasn't an unpleasant experience and fun to see other parts of the island.||If we were to return to Belize, we'd not hesitate to come back to Pelican Reef!

The staff were very helpful with excursions and recommendations! The accommodations were as advertised. We ate breakfast there every morning and it was delicious. The seating by the water is very comfortable and the view is great. I would recommend a golf cart (which they can arrange) to get around town. Go to Belize! The people are friendly, there is so much to do and it’s a beautiful country.

From start to finish Pelican Reef Villas was awesome. From Ian, Blanca, and Elsa helping with before trip itineraries through email, to Tristan welcoming us and Carlitos (Carlos) and Enrique running the bar and waiting on us for meals. Everyone there was Great. It was an Amazing 10 day stay. Everyone was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and reservations, to helping with tours. I can't wait to go back!

Everyone at the Pelican Reef Villas was amazing. They took great care of us not only in exceptional lodging and service but also in making adventure reservations and fantastic recommendations. We (our entire family) highly recommend this property. |PS Be sure to rent golf carts as a really fun way to get around the island. A trip with Oliver is also a must!

I recently spent five days in Ambergris Caye with my best friend, and our stay at Pelican Reef Villas was fantastic. Initially, we considered booking closer to San Pedro for the beach experience, but we were delighted with our choice. Pelican Reef Villas, with its wooden edge and swim-off dock, exceeded our expectations in every way. Unlike the beaches near San Pedro, which are plagued by sargassum, unpleasant odors, and insects, Pelican Reef Villas was free from these nuisances thanks to its built-up retention wall that diverted the current and kept the resort pristine. The water at the end of the dock was crystal clear, perfect for swimming, and provided stunning views. The hotel itself surpassed all our expectations. The furniture in our room was of exceptional quality, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the amenities were top-notch. Each morning, I relished the cook-to-order breakfast, trying something new every day. The intimate, local feel of the place was enhanced by the genuinely kind staff. On our last night in San Pedro, we met a staff member from the hotel who generously sent over a round of drinks and took the time to chat about our stay. This gesture truly went above and beyond, reflecting the high level of hospitality we experienced throughout our visit. I cannot wait to return!

We actually stayed down the beach at Lighthouse Beach Villas but we visited the cafe which is open to all at least 4 times for breakfast and also for them to cook our reef fishing catch. Service was wonderful. We were remembered the second time we visited. Great prices, great portions, and if you have a catch for them to cook (must be filet already) they do a fantastic job of cooking it 3 ways.
