I’d been meaning to try Pellegrino 2000 for ages (and yes, it’s got plenty of hype — Taylor Swift effect and all) but it absolutely lived up to it. The food was outstanding. We started with the focaccia and truffle butter, which I can only describe as life-changing — I’d go back just for that. The prosciutto with burrata was fresh and simple, and the twice-cooked octopus with butter beans was another standout — perfectly balanced with a touch of acidity and creamy beans. We also shared the rigatoni carbonara, which was rich, silky and spot-on. Finished with the tiramisu — nice and delicate, though a bit too creamy for my taste. Overall though, a fantastic experience. Great service, beautiful food, and absolutely worth the visit.

One of our favourite meals in Sydney. Such a fun, cozy vibe. We sat at the bar and had drinks first and luckily were able to get a table. Stand outs were the rigatoni alla carbonara and banana creme chantilly. Thought the steak was a little average but the pasta made up for it. Definitely lived up to the hype.

Pellegrino 2000- tiny spot in Surry Hills — dim lights, candles, and that kind of vintage buzz where everyone’s squeezed in just right. Feels cozy and a little chaotic in a good way. The focaccia was soft and airy, light enough to tear apart with one hand. Would’ve hit harder if it came out a bit warmer Prosciutto and burrata — largely dependent on the ingredients. No fancy tricks, just clean flavours: creamy burrata, salty prosciutto. Asked for their homemade chilli oil — turned out to be a gem. Crispy flakes, smoky aroma- works well with the burrata. Charred octopus with beans. Nicely cooked, just enough char edges. Creamy Sauce tights everythng together. Then came the rigatoni carbonara, supposedly their signature. Honestly, too salty. Both the guanciale and the sauce tipped the dish over the edge. The mix of fried and regular guanciale added great texture though — that crisp-soft contrast worked. Steak was decent for the price ($70), but you could tell it wasn’t prime cut. This said a lot about how expensive eating out in Sydney’s getting. Overall, a good upper-casual dining experience.

Pellegrino 2000 serves up beautifully prepared Italian dishes with rich flavours and great presentation. The atmosphere has an old-school charm that makes the place feel special, and the menu offers a good variety of classic options. However, the space was a little noisy, which made it hard to have a conversation at times. We also had a reservation but still had to wait about 10 minutes outside before being seated, which was a bit frustrating. Despite these minor issues, the overall dining experience was enjoyable and the quality of the food definitely stood out. Would recommend, especially if you love traditional Italian cuisine with a lively vibe.

Appetizer dishes was great and better than the main dishes. Bread was very good. The only trouble is the place is tight while table is so small because of tight space. By the way we still enjoyed. Oh I almost forgot that we so enjoyed with dessert. Must try caramel pudding with banana whip cream.

Wow just wow, what a fantastic dining experience. Was taken here for my birthday and had the best time. Service was great, helpful and friendly. Cocktails delicious and a good wine menu. And the food, wow. The highlight was the carbonara, a proper traditional sauce and the guanciale was spectacular. If you can get a table I couldn’t recommend more!

We celebrated our monthsary here and it was such a beautiful experience. The food was amazing with stunning presentation—the crudo was so fresh, the focaccia with truffle butter was irresistible, and the tiramisu was the perfect sweet ending without being too heavy. The vibe here is warm, romantic, and truly unmatched.

I was left with a such a great experience and am so glad that came here during my Sydney vacation. I was able to enjoy fresh flavorful food, while being served by amazing people who have awesome people skills in the most relaxed environment. They even made my husband feel so special for his birthday with a unique dessert that left a big smile on his face. Hands down the best Italian restaurant. I recommend the scallop filled ravioli, spaghetti, and bread with butter. Also the banana creme and the lemonade.
