Nestled in Surry Hills, this cozy Italian gem boasts authentic flavors, attentive service, and a charming candlelit wine cellar for a perfect date night.

the customer service was so so nice. the waitress was really cute, all staffs are attentive and friendly. I sat at the bar counter but I think sitting in table area would be better. The food was authentic but I wish the tiramisu had more cacao flavor. The cocktail was nice. The interior was also pretty.

I’ve been living in Australia for roughly 18 months (I’m Italian) and this was the best Italian food that I’ve ever tasted within Australia.
The food was so authentic and the flavours were rich and delicious.
It really reminded me of home!
Honourable mention goes to the Carbonara that was absolutely fantastic!
Every dish was great and the atmosphere with a real candle made everything more special.
It’s a perfect restaurant for couples and if you are looking for a place to bring the girl to THAT date then you can’t miss with Pellegrino 2000.
Well done chef and staff for such an amazing dinner!

One of my favourite Italian restaurants in Sydney and it didn’t disappoint again.
We ordered, prosciutto burrata, tasty and great way to start before the mains.
Pastas we ordered were scallop ravioli and prawn fregola, both were amazing and seafood was fresh and tasty.
Tiramisu for dessert and it had to be one of the better tiramisu’s I’ve had in Sydney. Each layer was perfect.
Definitely worth a visit and I will definitely try this place again.

Underground dimly lit basement vibes with candles and wine cellar but make it trendy and cute, super cozy atmosphere. Great starters with chonky bread and herbed butter, pastas are flavourful and oily, enjoyed both equally. Tiramisu was accidentally covered in candle wax after we had a little spill mishap but tasted good anyways, not too strong so wish it was stronger

As authentic Italian as you can get, like stepping into a hidden gem in Italy itself. The museum of wall to wall decor & monuments, the menu ingredients, wine lists & the exceptional service all highlighting & embracing the quality of Italian culture & hospitality. Two leveled venue. Enter to bar kitchen & inside/street seating, this is where all the action is if you like watching the prep & service. We sat downstairs set up as a wine cellar, so all the elements of a cosy dimmed secluded space - good contrast in offering two types of dining atmospheres. We had the set menu as dining with a large group & the food was abundant, full of flavour (just love a venue that uses fresh herbs) & really enjoyed by all. Highlight for me was the main - Pork cotoletta served with crunchy garlic rosemary fries & mixed salad leaves, could eat this everyday just wow.

It has a very tight menu.
Few entrees, 4 pasta and one rice, 2 meat dishes plus 3.5 dessert options.
The octopus appetizer was very satisfying, tender while crispy. This deserves a Bravo or Brava to the chef.
The pasta disher are very simple and maybe that is the greatest value. Very straightforward tastes in well done al dente pasta. And they are not drown on "parmesan".
We had the ravioli and the rigatoni dish and both were of a fine taste. The rigatoni was a bit on the toothy side for my taste but everyone is different. The ravioli was a really good dish. The frutti di mare was quite good with plenty of sea food.
The desserts were nothing special and I was slightly dissapointed from the Tiramisu. I have expected a wetter base but maybe it must be just me that got used it to a more drunken Tiramisu.
The atmosphere is nice resembling a wine cellar but I needed more light to read the menu. Either stronger light or bigger letters on a different menu paper might helps "old people" like I am.
The wine list could have been a great list but I could not go through the really long list of wines because I couldn't read them. And sometimes, a very simple puerly Italian wine list can be advantageous. I do not want to read through Australian wines until I find a simple, mass produced but refreshing and very matching Chianti or a cool Valpolicela. This would be though very "unaustralian" where food serves only as excuse for alcohol.
Staff was attentive and professional but I missed a bit the "personal" note. Paying attention on small hints or being more adaptive to guests style is something that can give an edge to the service. Nevertheless, the staff is very professional and very good in their jobs.
The restaurant was full, even it was a Monday. As you know this place has a long booking list.
It is a good choice for "Australian" expectations and I would love to taste the polpo one more time.

A good friend recommended this place and I'm certainly glad that I gave it a try when I was in Sydney.
It was an amazing little place in the heart of Surry Hills - the Negroni was among one of the best I've ever had and the rigatoni carbonara was positively divine as well.
I would recommend it in a heartbeat.

Authentic Italian food. Definitely book a table underground in the wine cellar. The waiter knew the menu and had great recommendations. Delicious menu!
