Niagara Just Became a Serious Culinary Destination

"The ice wine tasting experience is staged inside a 300-square-foot lounge constructed of ice, and guests are asked to don parkas and gloves so they can taste in conditions that mimic the frigid temperatures at which ice wine grapes are harvested." - Kate Dingwall

"Best Splurge: Peller Estates Kitchen Table Dinner If there is one dining experience I would splurge on when visiting Niagara On the Lake it would be Peller Estate’s Kitchen Table Dinner. This was definitely the highlight of our trip to the region. As the name suggests, the experience lies in getting to visit the kitchen through our private dining room anytime we want! We get exclusive access to sous-chef Maurice Desharnais (also known as Chef Moe), who showed us around the kitchen and told us we could ask any of the kitchen staff questions while they prepped our meal. Our meal actually started in the kitchen with appetizers and then lead into a 7 course feast, with each dish explained by Moe. Our expert sommelier Katie explained every wine personally paired with our dish and why she picked it. Moe would also tell us really entertaining stories about the chef world. You can tell that Peller really cares about its customers and staff through every little detail. In fact, Peller doesn’t host weddings because they want a serene experience for its guests, especially the majority that visit on weekends. Though we didn’t get to meet head chef, Jason Parsons that night, we came by the next day to buy wine and our sommelier saw us and introduced us. He came over to personally chat with us. It was such a special experience and I will definitely continue to return to Peller for their excellent wine and food. Tip: make sure you get the hostess to pre-call a cab in advance before your meal."

3 Best Day Trips from Toronto | Condé Nast Traveler

"Niagara-on-the-Lake is set in the middle of a fertile wine region, meaning there are dozens of wineries nearby. Peller, in our opinion, is one of the best. There's a tasting room, of course, but you can also take tours of the winery, experience ice wine in a 14-degree-Fahrenheit lounge, or take painting classes in the vineyards. There’s also an incredible restaurant on-site. You can drop into the tasting room without reservations, but be sure to book tours, special tastings, meals, and other events in advance." - Stefanie Waldek

Great experience! Peter, our guide was knowledgeable, helpful, funny and engaging. I spent $45++ pp for two of us, and they offered 4 types of samples (bubbly, white wine, red wine, and their famous ice wine) There’s also water and juice for those who don’t wish to drink. They also offered jackets for the -10 degree room (decor made with ice) which was considerate and a fun experience. There’s lots of time for photos and they allow you to roam around freely in the whole winery. There’s also a restaurant which I did not try, but the vibes seem amazing. Highly recommend for bachelorettes, a couple date or for tourist!!! Customer service was great, I was running behind for my 2pm appointment due to traffic and road closures so I called the winery to reschedule and give me the 3pm slot on a Monday, which they were more than happy to do and I am glad I could enjoy the full tour with my mother. Free parking is a plus!

Absolutely disappointing — worst meal of our Canada trip. We came here expecting a special night to celebrate our friend’s 40th birthday — instead, we left frustrated and underwhelmed. Despite notifying the restaurant in advance, there was zero acknowledgment of the occasion. We had a 7:30pm reservation but weren’t seated until 8pm because they were “busy.” Once seated, our server gave us attitude the moment we said we were skipping drinks due to a prior wine tasting. He was noticeably more enthusiastic with tables that were ordering alcohol. The food? A disaster. I asked if the burger could be done medium rare — was immediately told, “We don’t do that here,” with no explanation. We asked to have the meal expedited as we were short on time, only to be met with a condescending, “This is a fine dining experience.” Right — because a dry, overcooked burger, forgettable starters, and a cheesecake that tasted like jelly slop screams fine dining? Also, cold potato salad with burger?! That’s a first… 🤮 And worst of all — not even a simple birthday gesture. No complimentary cake, no kind word. That’s considered fine dining? What a bloody joke. Just go to 76Kitchen at Two Sisters next door instead. Now that screams fine dining — incredible service, amazing food, and a team that actually cares. Avoid this place. You deserve better.

Visited Peller Estates last week with my family and it was absolutely incredible. The building and grounds are incredibly well maintained and immaculate. I recommend visiting in the spring and very likely in the fall. The waitresses were incredibly patient and knowledgeable about the menu and helped family members make amendments to the menu based on allergies. From what I observed you can even enjoy your meal outside and enjoy the absolutely breathtaking and great wine smelling environment. World class architecture. There are even walking paths around the Estate to explore. The food was absolutely delicious and highly recommend everything you see. We didn't do any drinking, but would absolutely try a few of the specials next time I'm up. If you're visiting the Niagara Falls Region or Niagara on the lake wine area, you need to swing by! Also 100% wheelchair accessible and family friendly. Plenty of parking.

My family and I visited this winery in early April. My sister and I participated in the wine/taste tour. Cam was our tour guide and he did a fantastic job. He was very knowledgeable and at the same time kept it very lively and fun. All the wines were very tasty and the dessert/ice wine was so sweet. The grounds and building are stunning as well.

Google
This was the best winery I visited in the region. I was able to see the cellars, see the vineyards, and hear some explanations about the production process. I visited the 🧊Icewine bar - it was a great experience, although I really recommend that you taste your icewine at a temperature that is not too cold. Icewine, like all wine, needs a pleasant temperature of around 12°C so that you can feel all the aromas and appreciate the quality. I also recommend that you take some time to do a small tasting after your visit, so that you have the incredible opportunity to try the Oak Vidal and the Cabernet Franc Icewine, which are spectacular. I really liked the quality of the Icewine produced here, the aroma is persistent and the acidity is balanced.

Our second time visiting Canada, celebrating our 2 year Wedding Anniversary! We visited Pellar Estate for lunch in celebration of our union. Our over all experience was indeed enjoyable. Our server was very professional, attentive, knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. The quality of food was exceptional, well executed and presented. I would rate this memorable experience a 10/10. Taking this opportunity to thank the staff who made this all possible. Will most certainly be back, to partake in another great dinning experience. Best regards, Nick 🇯🇲 and Danny 🇺🇸

We had a fantastic experience at Peller Estates Winery in Niagara Falls! We did the wine tasting and tour, and it truly exceeded all expectations. Our guide, Cam, was absolutely amazing — incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He made the entire experience both educational and entertaining, offering great insight into the winery’s history and winemaking process. The wines were excellent, especially the red varieties, which stood out as our favorites. Each tasting was thoughtfully selected, and it’s clear that a lot of passion and care go into their production. One of the most unique and memorable parts of the tour was the Icewine Room — an experience you definitely don’t want to miss! We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area — and if possible, request Cam as your guide. He made the experience truly unforgettable.

Joined the winery tour, With good explanation and everyone can try out 4 types of wine. Went into a cold cell to try the ice wine. Really nice. Food quality of the winery restaurant is superb. High recommended to try it out when you have a chance to visit.

Yelp
Finally made it back after 10+ years. And nothing has changed! My wife and I came with my folks to enjoy this place and they don't disappoint. Walked inside and it was as I remembered it. We were lead to our reservation with their friendly service team member. They're on the ball and friendly. The ambiance is very quiet and great for chats. Food is very good and as I remembered it. They do use very good ingredients that are locally sourced. Overall great experience!

Yelp
So COOL. We wanted to try a winery or two in our way back from Niagara Falls and this spot did NOT disappoint! Such a beautiful vineyard, and well layed out. You can walk in at any time for a wine tasting (space permitting) or to eat at either their restaurant (a 3 course meal style spot) or wine garden with a "Wine by the glass" bar. Ent of open space to take pictures or lounge around sit. Your wine and in a great evening, a beautiful sunset. The girls weren't as present to deal with as I've encountered around Canada. They seems bothered with questions and over the day, but we had no issues overall. The tour though was the highlight of our visit. Our tour guide Danny was THE best. Factual, honest, funny and just a pleasure to be around. The toy takes about an hour and they take you through the vineyard, the barrel fleet and the -10 degree freezer where they keep the Ice wine. You get to sample about 4 different wines and are taken through the wine making process and the history of the estates. Make sure to make reservations for everything (but you can walk in for the tastings) and parking is free. It's definitely a must try!

Yelp
Reserved the greatest winery tour for my party. We were visiting Niagara Falls and did a little day trip to Niagara on the Lake to taste some wines as the area is famous for producing icewine. The staff were all very helpful and knowledgeable about the estate and wines. The 45 minute walking tour included 4 glasses of wine when we went as well as a souvenir stemless wineglass that we tried all our wines in. The tour started with a glass of sparkling wine near the check-in area. Then a walk to their wine cellar where we had a glass of white wine. After a quick peek at the grape vines (it was winter when I went) we came back in to try a red wine. It was great learn about the sustainability measures the local wine industry is taking. Like they're using the by-product as fertilizer and moved away from corks. We finished the experience by going into the 10below ice room/bar to sample their icewine. The room was super cool experience. There's grapes frozen into the wall along with the wine cycle etched into the wall. It was a great place to end the tour. My party and I enjoyed learning about wine, sampling different wines and loved the experience.

Yelp
The ambience is absolutely spectacular. The service was as good as it gets. The presentation of the dishes was dazzling. Four of the five dishes were perfectly done. The fifth dish, was disappointing. The selection is a little bit limited, but what they have is extremely well done, and the experience, overall, was delightful.

Yelp
Continues to be one of the most enjoyable upscale dining experiences in NOTL. Extremely well trained professional servers who are accommodating without being pretentious. Food is always presented with detailed verbal descriptions for each course, beautifully plated, and made with flavorful high quality ingredients. Come to Peller if you want an experience; look elsewhere if you want quick nourishment. A special place!

Yelp
What a great experience!!! Enjoyed some cocktails and a charcuterie board after our wine tasting and it was gorgeous to just sit outside and enjoy the views of the vineyard. Our waitress was nice but seemed a bit forgotten as she didn't come check on us until it was time to pay the bill. I would still visit again on my next visit to Niagara.

Yelp
Just a short 25 mins from Niagara Falls is this beautiful winery! We pre-purchased a spot on their tour (highly recommend to do ahead as many times were sold out). The tour takes you through areas of the gorgeous outdoor lawn and vines before going underground into the cellar then ending in the ice room that's -10 degrees celsius. We enjoyed the rose, Sauvignon blanc, meritage and ice wine. Our tour was lead by Gaurang. He was sweet and personable. He shared many interesting facts about the wine and region! The wine itself was very good. Although very different than the California varietals we're used to, we enjoyed getting to try these local wines and to learn about the process it takes to make them!

Yelp
If you are into a semi classy winery experience without feeling like you don't belong, I would recommend Peller Estates! This estate is beautiful! Instagram-worthy rows and rows of well pruned vineyard as well as scenic outdoor areas for wining and dining. I would also recommend their wine tasting tour. I didn't feel like an outcast even though I had a toddler present. The tour guide was entertaining and charismatic! He allowed time for photo ops. Don't skip out of the ice room! It is an experience! Lost my Tiffany bracelet along the tour but I still don't have any regrets.

Yelp
We left after TEN minutes. Four of us wanted a wine tasting, but the servers ignored us while serving others. Very disappointed. Still - it had nice architecture

Yelp
We had the five course tasting menu + lobster linguini. My apologies for not capturing them all. Next time, I'll probably just order the lobster linguini a la carte because it was incredible. The servers were very friendly and the pacing was perfect.

Yelp
First time here with my husband as a mini getaway. Our server was so helpful and amazing. She made our dinner more enjoyable !!! We got the $110 5 course tasting menu and add the additional lobster linguine $35 since it is their signature dish. We did the 5 courses wine pairing $65. Very impressed with the salad, lamb chops, and the dessert. The way the mix the sauce and dressing totally bring the dish to the next level. The sauce for the Lobster linguine was amazinggggggg. I wish they use the paradelle or thick fat pasta though. The texture of their pasta doesn't seem to match the dish too well. We went to wine tour before dinner and I am not a big drinker. I wouldn't get the wine paring next time ( it was more for the experience). Definitely will go back again!

Yelp
We loved it here! The grounds are gorgeous. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable. We loved the tasting tour and the lunch the chef made for our good was delicious. We also saw their ice room which was super cool! This is a family winery that own a few of the surrounding wineries. Beautiful place. Try the sparkling wine it was delicious, we bought two bottles!

Yelp
Amazing food, superb service and great ambiance. Don't forget to try the ice wine and pair it with the local cheeses, jam and some crackers.

Yelp
They do some nice wines and ice wines as well. You can pick up some other treats in the wine/gift store. They also have a restaurant. It's a beautiful place and I would want to come back for some in-depth tastings. They have plenty of parking just go and check it out.

Yelp
My partner and I visited this place to celebrate our anniversary. Peller Estates had a lovely patio for the wine tasting experience. You get to sip on 3 choices of wine from either their standard flight or premium flight. They offered a complementary rosé as well. The server we had for this experience was very knowledgable. We had a chance to walk around their outdoor space before heading into their restaurant. The server we had was very attentive and answered our questions about the entrees. We had the Oysters, Beef Striploin, Pork Tenderloin with Risotto and the Apple Crumble for dessert. The Oysters were fresh and their red wine vinaigrette complements them greatly. The Beef Striploin was cooked perfectly. The sauce was delicious. The Pork Tenderloin was wrapped with bacon. It was juicy and tender. It was paired with the risotto which was rich and creamy and was slightly al dente. Overall had a wonderful experience. Highly recommend this winery for those looking to sip on some wines and relax.

Yelp
Came here in late September on a trip. We got the chocolate and cheese board, while overlooking the sunset. it was very pretty. We purchased a number of bottles to bring home. The staff was very attentive and were very knowledgeable when we asked many questions about bringing alcohol back to NY from Canada.

Yelp
This is a beautiful winery with lots of choices for tours, tastings, and meals. We decided to do the tasting, which is 3 wines for $25. There are about 12 wines from which to choose and there were 3-4 small snacks you could buy. They first gave us a sparkling wine as a freebie, and it was ok. They then took our wine order and said the pours would be similar to the free pour. That wasn't true at all. I think doing this tasting is overpriced. I forgot to take a picture of the pours, but it is maybe 2 mouthfuls. The wines were decent, and I especially liked the Cab Franc. If I were to do this again, I would go and get a glass of wine and enjoy a light lunch.

Jaime S.

Yelp
Had a perfect afternoon here. The estate and grounds are beautiful with wonderful staff. We did a tour which was such a highlight! It consistent of 4 wine tasters: a sparkling, white, red, and ice wine all with accompanying information about the wine and property. You start outside then walk to the barrel room before putting on provided jackets to enter the ice room for the ice wine. We had lunch at the terrace which is more of a light meal/snack option, but was wonderful. Have nothing bad to say about Peller Estates.

Yelp
This was our favorite of three wineries in Niagara. The tour was informative and interesting, and our guide was top notch. Friendly, engaging, but not taking it too seriously. The icewine cellar is neat if nothing else; icewine is definitely an acquired taste. The outdoor space is beautiful, and there is a casual dining option available besides the more expensive, recommendations required choice. The gift shop has some snacks and you could DIY a picnic out of it.

Yelp
This restaurant is as exquisite as the grounds. The ambiance is elegant and sophisticated but it relaxes you with its kind and gracious staff and management. This is a place where you give in to the seven course meal with total trust. It is more than worth the price for an on-point culinary kaleidoscope of flavors that embrace the region and the season. You can taste the care in the clean flavor profiles. Only word to the wise is that if you are a periodic drinker, share the wine pairing to drink lightly through each course and tip heavily for the accommodation. - enjoy!
google avatar

Tina M.

Yelp
This place is AMAZING! Tour guide was very knowledgeable and amazing! Oh did I mentioned food! Unbelievable delicious and wine is to die for! Please come enjoy your afternoon here!

Yelp
AMAZINGGGG such a cool experience!! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and the wine was also great. The ice wine was delicious and was the best part of the tour.

Yelp
Peller never fails my expectations!!! 5 course meal is never the same from the last I had. The difference between the past and this time would be the bread choices there's only 2 over 3-4. The butter is just sea salt butter over infused butter. In the pass my favourite was their ice wine infused whipped butter, sun dried tomato butter... The old menu use to have a choice of 5 or 7 course meal. This time there's just 5 course meal and choice of adding lobster linguine, or other choices for additional cost. I usually enjoy hot soup but this time they served a cold squash soup, something that's different and I haven't had before. Oh the other thing that I don't understand is why their smoke salmon can taste so good. The taste is just perfect not too salty like ones that u get outside.
google avatar

Yelp
This is my favorite winery in the Niagara on the Lakes region. They have the best tasting ice wines! If going here be sure to book your tour in advance otherwise you will miss our. We did the greatest winery tour and it was fantastic. The highlight of the tour is when you go into the ice cave to sample wines. If you not interested in a tour there is a large back patio with some of the most amazing views of the winery where you can sit back relax enjoy some fantastic wines and great food.

Yelp
What a beautiful winery!!! We stopped here for lunch before having a full day of tasting and it was yummy! The staff was friendly and even treated us since we were celebrating a birthday.

Yelp
Elegance...That's the first word I thought of when I walked into the Peller Estates Winery and Restaurant. If only the food I ordered lived up to it, so I would rate the food 4/5. For the "To Share" appetizer, I had selection of Canadian Chesses, Peller Preserves with Private Reserve Baco Noir 2019. It was really good, I could eat cheese and drink wine everyday, but good things are to be taken in moderation. For first course, I had the Peller daily soup, which was the buttersquash soup, tastes okay, but I find the black pepper overpowering, BUT, they were happy to whip up some salad with no extra charge. And for my main course, I had the Ontario Lamb Saddle which was paired with baby carrots, dijon mustard, and potatoe goat cheese puree. It was quite delicious and fatty, so it might depend on your taste preferences (however, for me, I wasn't too pleased). The customer service was spot on. Very professional, friendly, and accomodating. Bonus: Parking is free. Oh! I saw a group of people arrive in a helicopter....I wonder if I can set up something for when next I visit. Hmmmm lol

Yelp
This winery was absolutely amazing. We scheduled a tour into their cellar. Our tour host was wonderful. Very professional and knowledgeable. Our favorite part of the tour was definitely the ice wine bar which we learned a great deal about how they make ice wine, and the importance of it to their region. Of the wineries in the Niagara region, this definitely was one of our favorites. Every wine we tried was fabulous, and the estate which the winery sits is beautifully located. By the end of the vacation we had wished that we spent an extra week so that we could bike around, and really soak in the experience. If you're in the region this is a must go winery.

Yelp
This was my first time at a winery and the dining experience was fantastic and indeed very fancy. I came here with my boyfriend's family for labour day and we went with the tasting menu coupled with wine pairing and a cheese charcuterie with the signature lobster linguine on the side. Together this makes it a seven course meal with 5 different wines to try. Since this is my first experience, I did find that it was quite pricey but the quality is definitely there. Every course was bursting with complex flavors that I was not used to. Since this is a tasting menu, dishes may vary depending on chefs choice for the day. For the first course, we got tomato with watermelon and mozzarella on top of a pesto basil sauce. This was super refreshing and paired well with the rose provided. The second course was a peach tomato soup. The third course was a fish dish (which I can't remember the name of). I do wish the fish was slightly more tender but overall still delicious. Then we went into the main course which was ribeye on top of lentils. This was legit the most tender delicious steak I've ever had in my life. I could have eaten a whole plate of it. Lastly, the dessert was a dacquoise with fresh peaches and it was oh soo yummy. Best way to end the meal and paired with a perfectly sweet ice wine. Of course we also had the cheese charcuterie (which was a bit lacking on the cheese amount and cheese variety) and the linguine (delicious!). Overall, amazing service and amazing food but more reserved for special occasions.

Yelp
*Restaurant Review* We were a group of 10 celebrating 3 birthdays. We got ushered to a private room in the back with our own personal entrance/exit to the courtyard area overlooking the grape vines. Our server was amazing and I wish I remembered her name. For the table, we shared the cheese/charcuterie boards and oysters. Between us two, we had the heirloom tomato salad, lamb shank and the signature lobster linguine (first course size). The linguine was my absolute favourite dish. The lamb shank was slightly underwhelming due to flavour. We mentioned birthdays through our Openable reservation and our host even asked who was celebrating a birthday, however it was not acknowledged at the end of our meal. Just a note, work things out with your server if you would like to celebrate the special occasion.

Pat C.

Yelp
Walked in to the winery and the two people at the front were no help and rude. We busted wanted to have a wine tasting and had no reservation. The guy at the bar sent us to the terrace and the hostess told us to come back in 15 minutes with five tables empty right in the open. We came back and she seated us only to get no server for 15 more minutes. Finally ordered a flight and the red flight was awful. Will never return.

Yelp
I enjoyed my experience here for a special family occasion from the beginning to end. From arriving at the beautiful estate and walking into the beautiful elegant dining room, to the amazing service and friendly, humble (not pretentious as one may think such a high end fancy place may dictate) servers, to the food selection and quality, the delicious wine, and finally the estate itself after dinner where we walked around and took fun jumping group family pics against the beautiful backdrop. To my bf, he felt the main course portions were on the small side for the price that we pay; to me it was still fine as I consider the beautiful estate, the fancy experience (fancy and welcoming, accommodating, non pretentious) , the food quality and superb service. It was the perfect place to go for a special family occasion.

Yelp
Peller Estates Winery and Restaurant is a craft estate winery and restaurant that opened in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada in 2001. It was founded by John Peller: President and CEO of Andrew Peller Limited. The story of the Peller family begins with John's grandfather Andrew Peller, who immigrated to Canada from Hungary in 1927 with just five dollars in his pocket. Years later, he would plant his first vineyards in British Columbia. By 1961, the elder Peller had opened successful wineries in British Columbia, Ontario and Nova Scotia. In 1966, Andrew's son Dr. Joseph Peller left his career in medicine to join the family business. Joseph's son John entered the business in 1989 and by 1995 he would take over the whole company. After more than six years in planning, an estate winery opened in Niagara-on-the-Lake which reflected the dreams and vision of Andrew Peller. The head winemaker is Katie Dickieson and the head chef at the restaurant is Jason Parsons. My wife and I visited Peller Estates in April 2016. We were on a sightseeing trip to Niagara Falls for four days. Several people had told us to head north and check out Niagara-on-the-Lake for its huge winery scene. We dedicated a day for visiting wineries and breweries and Peller was our seventh stop of the day. The grounds and the main building were very impressive and are located conveniently next to another estate winery: Two Sisters Vineyards. The interior of the main building was just beautiful. We had a basic wine tasting inside the tasting room, but we were most looking forward to our dinner reservation at the restaurant. We had dinner on the earlier side, so we had the whole dining room to ourselves. To start out, we were served a complimentary plate of Chicken Liver Pâté on Potato. For our entrées, my wife had the Butternut Squash & Goat Cheese Tortellini and I had the Ontario Lamb Loin. The presentation was beautiful; almost too good to eat. Our food paired well with our wine selections: my wife had Riesling and I had the Cabernet Franc. This was a truly exceptional and memorable dining experience! We also purchased some wines to take home. We can't wait to return some day!

Yelp
Pretty spot! Gorgeous estate with a winery, tasting room and a restaurant on site. I came for wine tasting and it was quite fun. Busy, sunny and fun. Before coming here, I haven't tried their wine, which was what prompted the visit. Their wine is quite good. I enjoyed their reds, rose brut and then some. They have a lot of different rose. Good for anytime / summer time drinking. Tasting flights were pretty good. You can get anything from their ice wine, reserve ice wine to cab franc, Baco noir ( their red), Pinot Grigio to a merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and cuvée roses. I got their ice wine reserve signature series ( $105 per bottle I believe ) and cuvées rose ($35+). Outdoor tastings are around half hour. It's better anyway since the inside is ok but outside is gorgeous. They also have an Inn : Riverbend inn that you can stay in. Perfect spot for weddings or events or getaway with girls. The restaurant look great too but I didn't get to dine in. They do have takeout packages for two! Overall, I came for the views but enjoyed the wine! Ice wine and cuvées here are great. I'm sure their other wines are too but I didn't get to sample too much. Next time!

Stopped in for a lite bite before exploring Niagara Falls. We had the Charcuterie and cheese platter and the peach and greens salad. Everything was very tasty and service was great.

Yelp
Outside seating was lovely. Our waitress was new and didn't know the wines very well but we still had a great tasting. The view was pleasant. The gift shop is nice to browse. My favorite wine was the Boco!

Yelp
(Note that this review applies to the Terrace Wine Bar. We did not eat at the main restaurant.) As my wife an I ultimately found out from the manager, the casual outdoor dining space at Peller Estates has recently gone through a bit of a re-imagining. The "Barrel House Grill" mentioned in the 2019 NY Times "36 Hours" piece is no more, having been replaced by the "Terrace Wine Bar." As Douglas Adams would say, this has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move. The food was very inconsistent. The burrata appetizer was pretty good. My wife's salad was ok, but certainly wasn't large enough for a lunch salad. My chicken breast sandwich, on the other hand, was an abomination. In such a beautiful surrounding, I did not expect to be served what was clearly a frozen, food-service chicken patty with one piece of wilting lettuce, a slice of flavorless tomato, and no actual flavor anywhere on the bun. With very greasy french fries. The staff was nice enough. The manager explained the recent concept shift and its accompanying bumps in the road, and tried to make it up to us with a free bottle of wine. But regardless, the food quality was poor and this review is deserved. I will also comment on the pricing. I was shocked that the smallest tastes of the wine *from this vineyard* were on the order of $15 (CAD... about $11-12 USD). This was while eating lunch. To pick up a glass from the "tasting" section of the patio would have been $19 CAD (including a souvenir glass that I didn't really want). The tasting patio's flights didn't appear to be available at the Terrace. I'm used to vineyards understanding that a large part of their raison d'être is to let people sample the wines in the hopes of enticing them to buy a full bottle. The pricing structure here was not conducive to that. Not only is that bad business sense (we ordered one glass of wine and didn't buy a bottle), but it detracts from the fun experience that a vineyard lunch can be. In sum, the main restaurant *might* be good, but if you're looking for a casual outdoor lunch and some wine tasting, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Yelp
Wonderful winery. We took the wine tour and learned a lot about the local wines and how ice wine was made. They have an ice lounge and an elegant and cozy taste room.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of spending my birthday in Ontario and we stopped her on our way back from Niagara Falls. The food was wonderful. Our server was amazing and I just love the ambience the next time I am back in Canada we will absolutely be having lunch there again.

Yelp
This is quite a stunning winery to be at as it's absolutely humongous and the Decour inside is quite impressive. However the wine tasting experience in their plane room upstairs was absolutely boring. The server didn't even have that much knowledge of the wines that we tasted and we were all presented with our four glasses of our selections all at once. They could learn a few things from other wineries on how to present a better experience. Outside they have a restaurant/bar that looks pretty cool.

Yelp
Enjoyed my time in this winery. We all got drinks (mimosa) in a hot summer morning and we all loved it , what a scene and environment.

Yelp
Wine tour: loved it! Guide was so informative in giving the history of peller family, local climates and geography, and best wine drinking practices. I definitely learned a lot and enjoyed tasting the 4 wines he presented. In particular, the ice wine and rose were my favourites. Restaurant: beautiful dishes by Chef Jason. Food was amazing as expected. The only downside I want to mention is that some of our dishes were not clean and of course this is not ideal for fine dining and during covid times.

Yelp
Every single person, place, and thing about this experience was 5 stars. I had scheduled a winery tour for Sunday afternoon on their website, but when it became painfully obvious that the massive delays with my flights to Buffalo (close to 50 minutes away from Peller) would result in me missing my scheduled tour; I wrote the winery an email asking if they would consider rescheduling me. They got back to my email pretty quickly with a pleasant and courteous yes. So I went up early Monday morning for my tour and was greeted at the front entrance by a very friendly woman who told me that I would be the only one on the tour and that it would start right up the steps in just a few minutes. Ling was my tour guide that day, and what a tour guide she was. She started the tour out with a taste of some bubbly and took me upstairs to a room that overlooks the front of the estate, a barrel cellar, and the main attraction (The Ice Room) a freezer that is lined with furniture, a bar, walls, and hanging ornaments all made out of ice. But let's back up. Ling, super knowledgeable, very open to questions and conversation, and willing and ready photographer was just a pleasure to be with that day. You can tell that she really has a good grasp on the process, the company, and the history of the winery. Big props to her. So yes, back to 10 Below (Celsius thank g-d). The walk in freezer that they've made into an ice lounge. The reason why this is here is to experience the temperature that the workers harvest grapes in, at night, by hand to make the ice wine. So next time you gawkin' at that price of ice wine... remember, those workers ain't goin into a freezer for ten minutes and having a glass of ice wine at an ice bar... they workin' in that biz! But yes... the 10 below room is awesome and I have some wonderful pictures that came out of it. Can we also talk about that gift shop... man! Now that's a gift shop! They have everything you could ever need out of a wine gift shop, AND it is super clean and organized. They have all sorts of gadgets, decorations, servingware, xmas things, and more. They also do tastings at a bar in the gift shop... so there's that. I was in a hurry so I couldn't check out the restaurant, but the food looks incredible. If you're going on a wine tour up in this region of Canada, I'd for sure recommend Peller Estates. I'd love to go back up there myself truth be told!

Yelp
Visited for our honeymoon and did the tour. Awesome experience! We learned a lot about winemaking and got to taste 4 of the wines. Outstanding views and very cool areas that we got to explore. The wine was great and our tour guide was fantastic and knowledgeable. We will be back!

Yelp
I've had both lunches and dinner at Peller. Food is overpriced, service is good. Same decor as they've had for 15 years I think. There are other places at this price point that I would choose first. Including the other Peller properties. Oaklands or Trius are both better. Two Sisters, Treadwell are also better. Celebrity chef is the draw here but honestly not worth it.

Yelp
If you're looking for an amazing dining experience with incredible food and outstanding service, look no further than Peller Winery! The five course meal included pork belly starter, pork croquettes, red tomato soup, salmon in a risotto, and incredible beef. The staff were friendly and the manager went above and beyond to make our experience special. The only negative was that the washrooms were in disrepair, with broken coat hangers and soap dispensers. However, this did not detract from the overall wonderful experience.

Yelp
Winery charges for tastings 19.99 and received a glass. Restaurant has certain times of seatings so we could not get a table. Outdoor area is a good place for pictures or to finish your wine. Others attended this winery on a tour and had a nice package price for multiple wineries and tastings.

Yelp
The place was beautiful, definitely can have weddings and parties here. We did a wine tour and it was awesome learning about everything here and tasting different wines. The ice room with the ice wine was my favorite it was so cool and the ice wine was delicious, probably my favorite. There's also a restaurant here too. Really nice place, friendly employees and service here is great.

Yelp
We went for the restaurant. It was very commercial. A very busy and bustling spot. Maybe great for someone who is just embarking on their wine discovery journey. But for the seasoned sommelier it is a bit too much. We managed to eat at the terrace bistro/bar. The food was nice. The service was meh. I can't complain about the number of heaters however; they aren't cheap and hence the very busy location. The wines were average. Presentation gets full marks however!
