Pellicola Pizzeria

Their pepperoni pizza was pretty basic. It wasn't as hyped to be. The atmosphere is nice but wouldn't come again for the pizza. It's just out sitting on display until you order and then it's warmed up. The cheese wasn't as melted as I would've like it to be.

I really wanted to like this place. The pizza is a hit-or-miss. I came for lunch and had a sausage and pepperoni pizza and it was actually really good. However, one night I went and got the Nutella slice to go and it was totally stale. If I was eating it at the restaurant, I would have returned it. It was really difficult to eat and chewy. I have also tried the arancini, which was good. There is limited seating in the restaurant so I recommend this spot as a pick-up to go place.

Delicious New York Style Pizza in the heart of LA. Pellicola (n.) Italian for movie/film. And, they have that too. A classic film is projected on to the glass wall of the Pizzeria. LA often gets dissed for not really being a city or being city-like. I disagree completely. And, while I was eating at Pellicola, I genuinely felt as though I was eating in a city. As for the pizza - it is great. I really enjoyed the Nonna Maria slice I had. I saw that they had the Nutella pizza, I don't know about that one - but, I guess that is a thing now. Perhaps on my next visit I will try that.

Good reviews led me to this place but I left realizing that the reviews may not be for the pizza but the overall atmosphere. The pizza is mediocre. It gets the job done, I see this place as a good spot for people who need a late-night bite. The movie playing is a nice touch. Chill place to hangout but not good if you're only looking for good pizza.

Pizza is delicious and a respectable size. Open till 3am on Saturday night/sun morning doesn't hurt either! Not a true NY pizza in my opinion but not bad for west coast

The crust is everything it should be and more. The only way this pizza could get better is if it was cooked in a wood fire oven. Sausage is great, Tricolore is amazing.

Scatterbrain operation with little to no consideration for those on vacation. Visiting from NY, I ordered a pie to my hotel, along with a Coca-Cola and their heralded Nutella slice. Nearly 2 hours later, only one of the three items arrived, with my drink & dessert not with the delivery guy. Thankfully the most important item made it. Still, I did pay the full price, and leave a tip with the expectation that the guy would return to right this wrong (The restaurant is 3/4 mile down the road). Despite saying he'd bring the items during his next round of deliveries, I was disappointed that it never arrived. Between the slow delivery, missing items, and failure to bring the bulk of my order back, I'd say this place is the pits. The pizza was also bland and dry...so yeah, order from elsewhere.

It's close, it's awesome, it's nothing like any chain pizza crap. Get off your butt and enjoy an evening tricolore slice with a side of Fellini's 8 1/2 or Roman Holiday. I have been grateful for Pellicola a number of times. A nice place to just stare out the window and watch the world go by.
