It is one of my favorite places in Maine. The family that owns the place is awesome and hard working. Food is great portions are generous. Always sub the homemade chips for the fries

Google
The view can't be beat. My husband got a fish sandwich and raved about how good it was. I wasn't feeling that great, but a grilled cheese (ya I know we were at a sea food place... don't hate) is just what my upset stomach needed. And the homemade potato chips were really good, just couldn't eat alot of them. Saw alot of people bringing their own wine to have with dinner.

Google
The lobster roll was ok! But the view was phenomenal and close to where we were staying. Other folks had the whole lobster which looked lovely perhaps that was the move over the sandwich! Fried scallops were great

Google
Great spot by Pemaquid Harbor. Husband got the single lobster dinner while I had one of the best lobster rolls. It was perfectly toasted and every bite was delicious. The lobster came lumped so it was easy to eat versus some that come in whole pieces and it’s harder to get a good bite. Highly recommend and also more reasonably affordable. It was $15 less for my lobster roll here than at Shaws.

Google
Ordered lobster dinner and pan seared haddock. Disappointed with the Overly cooked tasteless lobster which wasn’t drained at all. Our tray was flooded with water. haddock was mediocre. The staff is super friendly. Prices are on the higher end. It’s an overly hyped place. Not going back.

✨Family owned business with real local feels. Outdoor seatings were perfect overlooking Pemaquid Beach and the beautiful water. ✨ We ordered the steamed lobsters and clams. They are kept live in the holding tanks and don’t get steamed until you order. They don’t serve alcohol but you can BYOB. ✨ The lobsters were about 1 1/4 lbs and perfectly steamed. They were so fresh and sweet! Definitely one of the best Lobsters 🦞 we’ve had. We loved them so much, we ordered a second round for everyone. ✨ Self-serve service, you order inside and they’ll call your number for pick up. Food came out quick and there’s always someone cleaning and flipping tables for the next guest. ✨Highly recommend Pemaquid Seafood if you are in the area. The drive in is beautiful, lobsters are delicious 😋, service is friendly and quick, and the view is unbeatable!

Google
The view, the food, quintessential Maine. Seek this shant out. Very friendly staff, BYOB. Affordable lobster options as long as you're not going for the rolls, but that's not why you're here is it? You want the twin lobster dinner with a side of steamers! Enough for two!!

Google
My husband liked the meal and I did not so our reviews are mixed. If you want just overall a good food might not be a place for you, but if you all about just lobsters than that might be a right place for you. Price is decent and view is nice. Why I did not enjoyed my meal. My corn was almost raw and under cooked, bread was a worst quality kind out there and coleslaw was average at best. Lobster was ok, but after eating it with just butter and nothing else I felt sick. Place overall looked like a dirty shack and smelled bad. Sorry, not my cup of tea...

Yelp
Pemaquid Season was Excellent! Do yourself a Favor and visit this restaurant during the season they are open! The Seafood platters were a nice size portion and Fish was very fresh! Would definitely visit again!!!

Michael M.

Yelp
Killer seafood. It's where locals eat and they serve an 18" long lobster roll made with fresh local lobster from the Pemaquid area.

George M.

Yelp
This is a super lobster joint! Tucked away in pemaquid there are plenty of picnic tables on the picturesque lawn. Service was quick enough and we never found it overcrowded. A summer stop for sure.

Paul G.

Yelp
Pemaquid Seafood is a hidden gem. The restaurant is in a beautiful location on a hill above the bay. The seafood is fresh, local and delicious, and much cheaper than better known places. The counter person who served us was a retired lobster fisher who was friendly and welcoming. Almost all of the plates in the parking lot were local, which says a lot. And they let you byob. I've been looking for an old style seasonal spot like this for awhile. I found it.

Angelo P.

Yelp
Great, fresh, well prepared, clean seafood in a classic scenic Maine location! Friendly staff!

Joanna R.

Yelp
Fresh seafood! Wow and so much of it too! Our friends invited us to join them for lunch and it was worth the 1.5 hr drive! YUM. It was so serene sitting outside. The menu is pretty straightforward - a lot of fresh seafood available - I chose the haddock sandwich - It was a FULL haddock filet that makes the full size bun look like a tiny dinner roll. LOL! Definitely a fork and knife sandwich! It was so fresh - no fishy taste at all. For a few that were with us, that weren't feeling like seafood that day, they had a decent cheeseburger and a massive cheesesteak sandwich. Both were satisfied with their meals as well. The view of the ocean from the outside picnic table area is so peaceful and beautiful. The way the wind was slightly blowing made it so quiet too. The eating area was packed, yet you couldn't hear others talking. It was amazing. There are two bathrooms outside - not port-a-potties but outhouses with plumbing. They were fine, but the person in front of me was gross. Not the restaurant's fault at all. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area. If you have a larger group for a special occasion, call ahead, you might be able to reserve some tables. Not guaranteed, but worth a shot.

David S.

Yelp
Great atmosphere looking out over the bay along with the freshest lobster possible. Nothing fancy that's the point.

Autumn J.

Yelp
This is the best seafood restaurant on the peninsula! I've been multiple times and have never been disappointed! All of the seafood is fresh and delicious! The cashier is always patient and kind when helping you place an order! Besides the amazing food and service you cannot beat the ocean views! Can't wait to go again next year! *Keep in mind- it's BYOB and a seasonal restaurant*

N M.

Yelp
Not the best for seafood. Lobsters came out sooooo watery, way more water than I've ever had. Also oddly salty. Steamed clams were not cleaned prior to being served so they were very gritty. Fried fish and fries were just meh. Place was slammed when we got there. Nice views otherwise food isn't worth it. Also byob. Went here cause we've been going to shaws for the last 30 years and wanted to try a new place. Wish we went to shaws.

Mike D.

Yelp
BYOB. Fried haddock dinner is large enough for 2 people. Ask them to skip the roll, totally unnecessary and store bought

Amanda R.

Yelp
Fun experience with our friends eating our deliciousness overlooking the River/ocean. It's beautiful and peaceful to sit and watch boaters and people enjoying the water. The place is big enough to sit our party of 10. Their service was great, server answered all our questions regarding daily specials as seafood options. I tried their Pemaquid oysters with simple horseradish, hot sauce and lemon juice and it was so fresh and delicious I was a little hesitant to share with my friends jiji. But hey! I needed them to experience what I experienced eating these fresh oysters as well. I was told these oysters are special because they're grown where the fresh water meets the salty ocean so they have a different taste than other oysters....it was great! I also tried their blueberry mojito, it was tasty minty, not too sweet and not overwhelming with alcohol which was great because we still needed to finish a hike afterwards.

Frank W.

Yelp
We visited this restauarnt again and soon learned the cupboards were bare of their desired fare. Why you might ask? Seems Auntie was not in the mood to make the clam chowder that morning and they were currently out of crab salad. In spite of departing in a huff and a puff we could not bring this lobster shack down.

Sarah M.

Yelp
Fabulous boiled lobster for a very reasonable price. For $2 extra we upgraded to 1 1/2 pounders. BYOB which we forgot. The view of Pemaquid Harbor is incomparable. Highly recommended!

Lindsey S.

Yelp
Fresh, delicious seafood. The quality was even better than some other places we tried locally. Lots of outdoor seating making it great for the kids. The portions were also huge, I shared a combo platter with my 2 kids! Would recommend going early because it does get busy with lines forming out of the building!

Tim B.

Yelp
Great Lobster Roll. Not sure why it takes so long to get through the line to place your order. I think we were about 45 minutes in line behind maybe 6-7 other orders, Food came out fast enough once we ordered and it was excellent! The lobster roll was viewed by some as better than McLoon's or Red's. I would say it is very comparable to McLoon's but Red's is still the best. Seating and views are tremendous. Parking is easy enough. The staff is very friendly and since this is a BYO type of place it's pretty convenient to pack up a few items and set up a picnic. Bring refreshments and a friend to keep you company while in line and you won't mind the wait. If you're in this area you definitely will want to experience Pemaquid Seafood. We will be back often for sure!

Sue L.

Yelp
Wow! We have been eating Maine seafood all our lives and I can truly say that these folks do it right! Nice light coating, perfectly cooked, very fresh, not greasy seafood! The Captain's Platter was perfect for 2. The coleslaw was good, the staff were excellent, even the free water was good! We will be taking rides down there again!

Kaori M.

Yelp
I had single lobster dinner. It came with cabbage, bread, corn. Lobster was good, fresh, and delicious. I wished the lobster was bigger, though (compared to other lobster places I've been to). The outside seating was great and had a great time.

Brew D.

Yelp
Amazing. BYOB. Great view. Can get crowded and hard to find a table. Sometimes parking is overloaded. But it's all well worth it.

Heidi D.

Yelp
Once again, Pemaquid Seafood does not disappoint! The chowder is the best we southern New Englanders have ever had. It's literally the standard by which we judge all others against. The staff is always so nice and quick witted, love it! Tradition to kick off our week vacation in the area is dinner here the first night, followed by purchasing lobsters for my birthday on the 4th. Every year we leave with love in our hearts for the family that owns Pemaquid Seafood, longing to return again next year!

Ann P.

Yelp
Top lobster roll of our weekend lobster roll crawl. Views, phew. Our roll was $50 but massive. The foot long roll was chock full of briny sweetness. The steamer dinner was so tasty!! The place is clean and service flows efficiently.

Jeff C.

Yelp
We are refugees from perhaps the more notable and touristy lobster restaurant on a dock in New Harbor. A once impromptu encounter with a local at the 'Seagull Shop' on the point, we learned about Pemequid Seafood back when it was a co-op. This quaint and somewhat spartan restaurant has a kinda 'cult' following and is located off a pleasant neighborhood drive to a location that overlooks Pemequid Harbor high up on a rise. As native Mainers' residing 68 miles inland...other than price, the food and service for the 'Shore Dinner' is the real draw. Add in the BYOB, and the fact they are pet friendly as a well mannered 'Fido' is always welcomed when dining 'Al Fresco' makes for an overall delightful experience. We typically Lobster dine 2-3 visits a season and in the last seven seasons have never been disappointed except on one singular occasion when they were closed on a Wednesday arrival.

Bob W.

Yelp
One point off the bat for the beautiful setting. The food then takes us the rest of the way. I was feeling peckish so I got a lobster roll and a crab roll. Both excellent. I could really taste the freshness of the seafood. Bonus: massive pile of addictive chips with both rolls!

Annie R.

Yelp
Came here after a sailing ride for dinner. A big parking lot with indoor seating and outdoor patio seating. The outdoor seating overlooks the harbor. The restaurant is a little dive-ish and do not expect anything upscale, but the people and service are awesome. I ordered the lobster dinner that came with corn, a roll, coleslaw, and butter. The lobster was good, but nothing that totally amazed me. For the price, I think you could get a better dining experience elsewhere.

Corey J.

Yelp
Great lobster, great views. Very low key. Order at window and pick up. BYOB. Reasonably priced.

David B.

Yelp
Great seafood and beautiful location. A little hard to find but worth the effort. Will be coming back whenever I'm in the area

Chuck C.

Yelp
Out of the way but hidden secret. Great prices for lobster dinner and onion rings. Lobster and corn steamed when ordered. Nice view.

William M.

Yelp
The best place in coastal Maine for lobster with outside tables and great views. Took the grandkids this week and they loved it.

Pat B.

Yelp
I really want to give this place more than a 2 star rating. Their location is stellar. However, we ordered two blackened haddock sandwiches and they were so incredibly salty we couldn't even eat them. We aren't able to eat fried foods so they offered us this option which sounded fine. We love blackened seafood but the salt content was over the top! The 2 stars are for the yummy coleslaw and the view only. Bummed.

Joe F.

Yelp
Excellent seafood. Bought the scallops from them and they were flavorful and fresh. Would go there for all my seafood needs.

Damaris N.

Yelp
Delicious local caught fish and lobster! No frills, all delicious! The Fried Haddock was incredible

Susan B.

Yelp
After Yelp research, we decided on the 45 mins drive to Pemaquid Seafood. Boy, was it worth the drive (5miles) from Boothbay. We stopped at Hanley's market (gas station) to pick up & dined al fresco. Seems like a local spot (w occasional NJ/NY/MA tourists. We got in at 5 pm, ordered entirety of their menu and was not disappointed. Large roll was delicious w toasted roll and lots of lobsters little Mayo. Lobster stew was buttery creamy and chunks of lobster bits. Oysters were fresh, wish it had some variety to choose from. Beautiful spot near the lighthouse; would recommend more than any other touristy area.

Nicole E.

Yelp
We stopped here on a Sunday in June while we were in the area, going to see the lighthouse. They have a good amount of parking available, a large outdoor space with picnic tables and umbrellas and a great panoramic view of the harbor. Their menu is what you'd typically expect: chowder, lobster, lobster rolls, and various fried seafood dishes. The prices are reasonable, staff is friendly, place is clean and there were a good amount of families enjoying. We got the fried clam strips and fried seafood platters. They both came with French fries and hone made cole slaw. The cole slaw was clearly home made and wasn't out of a jar or soaked in mayonnaise, which I appreciated. The meals were fresh, good, well seasoned and crispy - everything you'd want and expect from a good seafood spot with fried seafood and lobster roll offerings. It wasn't amazing or out of this world, and there isn't anything extraordinary to note, but it's a decent spot and we enjoyed.

Rey D.

Yelp
Oysters were fresh and awesome Lobsters are very fresh Chowder was unique but not for me Everyone else enjoyed lobster

Aaron S.

Yelp
Came near the end of the season on a foggy day and walked right in. Had some good old fashioned, authentic waterside seafood. Best oysters I had this trip. Our crew of 4 enjoyed clam chowder and lobster bisque, a lobster roll, steamers, fried clam strips and more. Not fancy, hit the spot, as good or better than any place further south.

Kimberly S.

Yelp
A great, casual spot for getting your lobster fix. We were lucky it was a really nice night out or the crowds would have all been inside. Thankfully we were able to use their many outdoor, shared picnic tables for our lobster dinner. Food was tasty and quick. Views are fabulous. It is BYOB, which we didn't realize until we got there, but wasn't a problem.

Ben T.

Yelp
best laid back scenic lobster pound in maine hands down.

Madeleine H.

Yelp
my family and i hit up this place after spending the day at pemaquid beach and i'm so glad we did! very laid back and authentic-maine vibes. the lobster rolls tasted fresh and my chowder was super flavorful. not to mention the gorgeous view! i can't wait to return on my next maine vacation.

b. f. h.

Yelp
Look at my photo and you'll see that this is the best lobster roll and sides imaginable. Other offerings just as good (not the fries). Site is spectacular, service very good. As to the 2017 comment about the corn, what sort of person would order corn in early June and expect it to taste like anything? The prices are fair for the quqlity. I know a guy who catches crabs locally that go into the crab rolls.

Melissa B.

Yelp
Not a restaurant in the normal idea of the word. This place is a seafood shop but they also have hot food. It doesn't look like much but their fish tacos are amazing! I was skeptical but I didn't want to look around for another place. They do not serve alcohol. There are a couple of picnic benches out back where you can eat right by the water. It was gorgeous. Don't let the building or lack of tables dissuade you. The food was top notch.

John S.

Yelp
The place is a little out of way and doesn't look like much walking up but it makes up for it in flavor and quality of food. We shared a large lobster roll and fries. The lobster was very flavorful and enjoyable. Honestly I'm not enough of a fan to drop $50 again but one in the family who appreciates lobster would gladly do it again so :)

Rebecca A.

Yelp
Delicious seafood with a beautiful view! Staff was also very nice. Great lunch and seafood was extremely fresh.

Alicia B.

Yelp
An excellent family run business overlooking the charming Pemaquid Harbor. Fresh lobsters, steak bombs, chicken and much more. BYOB

Monica M.

Yelp
Worth the wait in line! Bring your own beverages and whatever else you want, order some lobster and steamers, and enjoy Maine at it's finest!

Susan P.

Yelp
We love eating here. The seafood is reasonably priced for the area. My favorite meal has been the Haddock and Shrimp platter. However everything we have eaten here as a family has been delicious!! Bring your own beer/drinks!!! They don't serve alcohol but the perk is you can bring your own!! Seating is limited. The outside view is gorgeous so eat outside!!!

Collette H.

Yelp
Best hidden gem!!!! The food was amazing, lobster roll was so to die for. I opted for butter and not mayo and it was exactly what I wanted!

Kim G.

Yelp
Off the beaten path and definitely good. Service could have been more friendly. We got the whole soft lobster with butter. Good!

Annie F.

Yelp
Best seafood around!!! Beautiful drive from Warren Maine!!! I can hardly wait for it to open again in the spring!

Joshua R.

Yelp
Great people and great food! The family loves this place more every time we visit! I recommend the lobster!

David T.

Yelp
Quick stop for lunch ... 1 pound of Steamers and a cup of clam chowder later I am happy as a clam (consumer). Steamers were smal and sweet, and grit free if you like the easy path with steamed clams. I am prepared to work with steamers but no need with these clean and super fresh clams The clam chowder was delicioiuos IF YOU LIKE MAINE CLAM CHOWDER with whole clams, small potatoes and a deep salt pork flavor that is savory -- with the light cream broth free of thickeners/starchiness that many think definrs New England clam chowder. Not in MAINE: The way clam chowder is supposed to be. Available here through Columbus Day.
