Hubby and I adored our stay at Penghana B & B in July!! Karen and Steve couldn't have done more for us, to make us feel welcome and our 3 night stay blissful! We stayed in the Owen Suite, which had everything we could possibly need, including a magnificent view of Mt Owen. The bed and pillows were wonderfully comfy. |Karen really brought the history of the building to life for us, with a well-researched tour of the photos and memorabilia in the history room. A wonderful glimpse into the lives of the original family for whom Penghana was built!.|Steve's cooked breakfasts were magnificent and his recommendations for evening meals were top notch! We will be back!!

Penghana B&B is a treasure. Karen & Steve are warm, welcoming & personable hosts. The house is magnificent & our room for 2 nights, the Owen room overlooking Mt Owen was sensational. Spacious, very well appointed with generous little touches including robes, slippers, home made cake on arrival, tea, coffee & biscuits. The silver service breakfast was sensationally prepared to order by Steve who excelled. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & the guidance Karen & Steve offered us. A fabulous base from which to explore Tasmania's gorgeous West coast. Thank you, Lee & Neil

Penghana is not just a B&B, it's an experience. Karen and Steve are wonderful hosts that have a passion for their heritage listed home. The rooms are beautiful and decorated to a very high finish. Breakfast is silver service and cooked to perfection. Do yourself a favour and stay at Penghana and don't miss Karen's informative and passionate talk about the building's history.

We had the most wonderful stay at Penghana in Queenstown, an absolute gem steeped in history yet offering every modern luxury you could wish for. The house itself is stunning, immaculately kept, and presented to the highest standards of cleanliness. Every detail speaks of care and quality. Breakfast was truly unforgettable, beautifully presented, with so much variety, and at a standard you’d expect in a fine restaurant. It was the perfect way to start each day. One morning we woke to see snow dusting the mountain tops from our picture window, absolutely magical. The location is also ideal; just a short, scenic drive took us to Cradle Mountain where we got up close and personal with the snow ☃️ a highlight of our trip! Penghana is a place that exceeds expectations on every level. A stay here is not just accommodation, but a very special and memorable experience.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at Penghana. Two couples travelling together, we each had an ensuite room. The rooms were spacious, warm, well appointed and very comfortable with so much attention to detail - a full suite of towels - including a nice big bath sheet which you don’t usually get in most accommodation. Breakfasts were delicious, I felt very spoilt rocking up to an elegantly laid out dining room and placing my order. The Bircher and marmalade were awesome and cooked breakfast was the perfect way to start the day. Nothing seemed too much trouble in this grand old house. The hosts were very attentive, knowledgeable and always ready and willing to offer suggestions, hear about your day and fill you in on their local knowledge and the history of the area. Karen and Steve, thank you for a wonderful stay.

We stayed at Penghana B & B for 3 incredible nights while visiting Queenstown. Our wonderful hosts, Steve and Karen became instant friends as soon as we walked through the magnificent front door of this historic property. Our stay there was the highlight of our two week tour of Tasmania. Steve and Karen certainly know how to make guests feel so welcome and look after you beyond all expectations, including the superb cooked breakfast and coffee each morning in the dining room. We would certainly recommend a stay here while in Queenstown. Chris & Rose.

We recently stayed at Penghana B&B which can only be described as perfect! ||The historic nature and presence of this grand house built in 1898 is simply stunning. The location of this residence overlooking Queenstown is magnificent. It’s hard to fathom how a house of this grandeur could have ever been built in such a harsh and isolated environment if it were not for the mining boom during this period.||Karen and Steve are such marvellous hosts. We were made to feel very welcome from the first greeting. The introduction to the residence with a tour set the scene for a great stay. The rooms and facilities were excellent. ||Karen’s design touches have augmented the appeal of Penghana with meticulous attention to detail throughout the residence. The black and white photos throughout the residence show case the history of the area. Steve's amazing knowledge of the area, his extensive breakfast coupled with a fascinating narration of the history of Queenstown and of the Penghana mansion, added to the depth and warmth of a very enjoyable stay.||If you’re planning to stay in Queenstown, do yourself a favour and make a plan to stay in a grand Queen Anne Federation style residence.

Yelp
This place is beautiful! The old world charm is throughout each room and I just fell in love with the well preserved antiques. The B&B is in a National Trust Mansion that has all the mod cons. I was very comfortable getting a cup of coffee in the middle of the night from the communal kitchen. There were spaces to spread out, two different lounge rooms and a ballroom with a billiards table. The bedroom was spacious and the bed was firm. The pillows were very soft and firm at the same time. Oh the breakfast! Go without morning tea and lunch! The breakfast not only taste great but looks outstanding with the silver compliment trays and tea set. Book in for afternoon tea, what a treat! The hosts, Karen and Steve were extremely helpful with great general knowledge and ready to help in any way.

Yelp
A delightfully spacious and comfortable heritage listed home overlooking the town of Queenstown. Our room was large and comfortable with accompanying ensuite, shared lounge and kitchen. Our hosts Maureen & Bill were happy to recommend places about town to eat and put up a delicious hot & cold breakfast spread. A premium accommodation in this mining town that is not to be missed and well priced for the area.
