I booked Penghana in Queenstown as a Christmas gift for my daughter, and it was the best gift we could have shared together.
Karen and Steve made us feel really welcome. It never felt like staying in a commercial B&B, it felt so homely and with great attention to care and detail.
The house itself is stunning: a grand, period home. I felt like Miss Phryne Fisher or Anne of Green Gables! Everything was spotless and very well cared for. Our room was comfortable, and quiet. I loved the awesome quality bed linen and tiny attention to detail, like the quality nail file and other bathroomy bits.
Breakfast was a highlight each morning. Steve is a great chef, friendly, attentive, and on time. The breakfasts were so nicely prepared and delicious, and sitting down in such a lovely setting was a fab way to start the day. I even enjoyed the mushrooms, and I normally hate mushrooms.
This is a terrific space and in such a quirky, different and magnificent part of Tasmania. This is a premium hospitality set-up that we couldn't fault.
Highly recommended to anyone looking for a memorable place to stay in Queenstown. I hope to return myself before too long, this time with my lover.
