Karen and steve are amazing hosts with so much knowledge of the history of this house. For lovers of old homes it is a must. |The hospitality was lovely, friendly and welcoming. The rooms were all beautifully decorated and so comfortable, with everything you could want. The breakfast was delicious, fresh, home baked and individualized to whatever we wanted. There is a little kitchen for preparing your own meals and comfortable lounges for relaxing. We absolutely loved it!

What a great location in Queenstown. ||On arrival we were met by the host and her husband whom took us on a tour of Pengahana.||We knew we were at a highly rated property when we saw the wall of awards the hosts displayed. ||We had a large room with a very lovely arrangement of furniture along with nice decor. ||Our breakfast was cooked by our hosts whom had also made their own white and grain breads. The breakfast was very large and nicely presented. ||Day rooms and kitchen had tea and coffee making facilities along with biscuits etc. for day consumption. ||The property is a very easy walk of around 300 metres into town.||Highly recommend a tour of the Paragon Art Deco cinema and a West Coast train ride. ||Definitely will return to Pengahana

Our group of three couples had a lovely stay at Penghana B&B. The house is beautiful— rich with history, immaculate, and full of charm. Karen and Steve are exceptional hosts who go above and beyond to make their guests feel special.||We loved the lounge, where we spent the evening playing cards and relaxing together. The personalised service and thoughtful touches — homemade fruit cake and a delicious breakfast — made our stay feel truly special.||Every detail is taken care of at Penghana. It’s warm, welcoming, and run with genuine care. A true Queenstown treasure – we can’t recommend it highly enough!

Wonderful historical house with large comfortable rooms and guest lounges. Nice, quiet location with great view. The included breakfast is delicious, very filling and served beautifully. Nice, quiet location with great view. Friendly, helpful hosts with plenty of advice on local attractions and eateries. The hosts gave us and our friends an informative tour of their 'mini museum' (room) onsite which explains a lot of interesting aspects about the National Trust house and its occupants.

Penghana is not just a B&B, it's an experience. Karen and Steve are wonderful hosts that have a passion for their heritage listed home. The rooms are beautiful and decorated to a very high finish. Breakfast is silver service and cooked to perfection. Do yourself a favour and stay at Penghana and don't miss Karen's informative and passionate talk about the building's history.

We had the most wonderful stay at Penghana in Queenstown, an absolute gem steeped in history yet offering every modern luxury you could wish for. The house itself is stunning, immaculately kept, and presented to the highest standards of cleanliness. Every detail speaks of care and quality. Breakfast was truly unforgettable, beautifully presented, with so much variety, and at a standard you’d expect in a fine restaurant. It was the perfect way to start each day. One morning we woke to see snow dusting the mountain tops from our picture window, absolutely magical. The location is also ideal; just a short, scenic drive took us to Cradle Mountain where we got up close and personal with the snow ☃️ a highlight of our trip! Penghana is a place that exceeds expectations on every level. A stay here is not just accommodation, but a very special and memorable experience.

Yelp
This place is beautiful! The old world charm is throughout each room and I just fell in love with the well preserved antiques. The B&B is in a National Trust Mansion that has all the mod cons. I was very comfortable getting a cup of coffee in the middle of the night from the communal kitchen. There were spaces to spread out, two different lounge rooms and a ballroom with a billiards table. The bedroom was spacious and the bed was firm. The pillows were very soft and firm at the same time. Oh the breakfast! Go without morning tea and lunch! The breakfast not only taste great but looks outstanding with the silver compliment trays and tea set. Book in for afternoon tea, what a treat! The hosts, Karen and Steve were extremely helpful with great general knowledge and ready to help in any way.

Yelp
A delightfully spacious and comfortable heritage listed home overlooking the town of Queenstown. Our room was large and comfortable with accompanying ensuite, shared lounge and kitchen. Our hosts Maureen & Bill were happy to recommend places about town to eat and put up a delicious hot & cold breakfast spread. A premium accommodation in this mining town that is not to be missed and well priced for the area.
