I recently had the pleasure of staying at Penghana Bed and Breakfast during a business trip. From the moment we arrived, Karen and Steve made us feel incredibly welcome. Karen was exceptionally knowledgeable about the property and the local area. The rooms were very clean, with every detail carefully considered. A highlight of my stay was definitely the breakfast cooked by Steve. It was absolutely amazing—using Tasmanian products and produce. The muesli and homemade bread was amazing. Thank you, Karen and Steve 🚑

Penghana Bed & Breakfast is a magnificent place to stay with so much local history attached. We have stayed there 5 times as a group and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Steve and Karen are perfect hosts, who cater for your every need. Great views of the surrounding area, it is breathtaking. The house has been beautifully decorated, with impeccable attention to detail. The beds are extremely comfortable and provide a great nights sleep. Having breakfast in the dining room is a highlight: the food and service is first class. I would rate this accommodation 6 stars if I could.

Karen and Steve are wonderful hosts-nothing was too much trouble. We felt pampered in the Owen suite-what a treat. Everything went like clockwork. Karen organised dinner bookings and a trip on the Heritage train. The National Trust House is enchanting and the history is fascinating. Steve and Karen’s knowledge of the history of the house is impressive and their passion is inspiring.

What a wonderful experience. Penghana is a 19th century mansion overlooking Queenstown. We stayed two nights in the Owens Room. It is a spacious and luxurious room with a separate dressing room leading to the bathroom. Our hosts, Steve and Karen were so friendly and nothing was too hard for them. Breakfast in the morning was silver service and lovely. It was the little things that really made our stay so enjoyable - access to an upstairs lounge, fruit cake on arrival, a carafe of port in the room, making a booking for us at Mimso Restaurant, etc. We thoroughly recommend Penghana for luxury accommodation.

Penghana Bed & Breakfast exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we arrived at the stunning, historically rich mansion, we were impressed by the attention to detail. Steve and Karen are exceptional hosts, offering silver service and unmatched generosity, which made our stay truly memorable. Their hospitality left a lasting impression, and we can’t recommend this place enough. You won’t regret it!||P.S. – Be sure to try the fruit cake – it’s a must!

Our stay at Penghana in Queenstown was one of the highlights of our road trip across Tasmania. Steve & Karen were the friendliest and warmest hosts you could ever hope for. Their knowledge of the immediate area is also second to none. The house itself is fascinating and has an amazing history. Steve's cooked breakfasts are also amazing! The best hash browns in Tasmania! In summary, if you want to stay in Queenstown in style then look no further. We will never forget our stay here. Highly recommended.

We recently stayed for 3 nights at Penghana. It exceeded our expectations. It is obvious why this opulent house is a National Trust listing. The hosts, Karen and Steve, are knowledgeable, passionate and accommodating. The breakfasts are legendary. The hosts' attention to detail makes for a comfortable, memorable and enjoyable experience. Would highly recommend.

Yelp
This place is beautiful! The old world charm is throughout each room and I just fell in love with the well preserved antiques. The B&B is in a National Trust Mansion that has all the mod cons. I was very comfortable getting a cup of coffee in the middle of the night from the communal kitchen. There were spaces to spread out, two different lounge rooms and a ballroom with a billiards table. The bedroom was spacious and the bed was firm. The pillows were very soft and firm at the same time. Oh the breakfast! Go without morning tea and lunch! The breakfast not only taste great but looks outstanding with the silver compliment trays and tea set. Book in for afternoon tea, what a treat! The hosts, Karen and Steve were extremely helpful with great general knowledge and ready to help in any way.

Yelp
A delightfully spacious and comfortable heritage listed home overlooking the town of Queenstown. Our room was large and comfortable with accompanying ensuite, shared lounge and kitchen. Our hosts Maureen & Bill were happy to recommend places about town to eat and put up a delicious hot & cold breakfast spread. A premium accommodation in this mining town that is not to be missed and well priced for the area.
