PenichePraia - Bungalows, Campers and SPA

We rented a bungalow for two nights. Everything was a bit old. I never had such a bad mattress. The kitchen lacked basic amenities such as a bowl. There were no amenities for cleaning the dishes. The shower was either cold or very hot. There were a lot of cats so you could no leave the door open. You have to pay extra if you want to use the gym (5 euros) or spa and indoor swimming pool (12 euros). Parking at the entrance is free and near the bungalow was 5 euros. There is an outdoor swimming pool. Location is near the sea. Staff was friendly.

Good campsite with okay sanitary. We went there with a campervan, the places were level but a bit ugly because of all the concrete. The location of the campsite is great, because you can see the beautiful cliffs just outside the campsite. Would recommend!

SPA HALF BROKEN - PET FRIENDLY BUNGALOW The sauna and the turkish bath are broken and for a long time now. After seeing some reviews saying precisely that I called to ask if everything was working and they said yes. When I arrived it was broken. The pool is cool and relaxing, but you pay just for the pool because the rest doesn’t work. The showers are very cold. The staff is super friendly and very sweet, I liked them a lot. And the bungalow premium were we stay was also very nice but it was missing a place to hang or lay the hygiene products on the shower. Also he towels were hanging very high and on top of the toilet seat. I missed a glass or a mug but after all is a camping. It just depends on what kind of camping they want to have. We didn’t stay longer because of the broken spa. We preferred to change to a place with a working one. I’m grateful for the guys on the reception! They were precious.

Mixed feelings, I knew what to expect about the place as I read a lot of reviews, but I was still surprised by the sadness of the campsite. On the other hand, not being around while visiting Peniche and the beaches, it was oké tough. Friendly staff. Next to some kind of fishcleaning factory or something, so some unexpected noise of the machinery till late in the evening.

We stay 4 nigths, we saw sereval bad reviews but we can compain at all. we stayed in a Standard Room with Kitchen . Impeccably clean bed and bath linen, the same as in the room. Fantastic pool area and the same pool.|Super quiet, close to everything by car. Super friendly and helpful staff.

From zero to hero!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ After six weeks of european coast travel down from germany, two destroyed kites and a broke car and a injured foot on one day i found luckily a mecanic close by and this wellness oasis, which turned the worst day of my travel into the best! The service is good damn tolerant and open for people which don‘t sleep here. I couldn‘t imagine two find me in a jacuzzi/ sauna and super clean shower in the afternoon after waiting for help for my car in portugals nowhere in the morning. The atmosphere is genuine! You are my gamechanger! You are the best campingplace of my life! ❤️ I will never forget this special day and the unique and friendly personal! Now, a new man is born! It‘s me! Don’t come here with a tent unless you want to sit in shit. People let their dogs out on the tent field so there was shit everywhere. Not just one person either, I saw 3 people doing this in the one day I stayed here. It’s also relatively expensive and the bathrooms are in a bad state.

As one of only two campsites in Peniche, this one is also pretty far away from the surfspots. It is located amongst industrial sites which is not a pleasant sight if you drive there. However, it is silent and there is no smell so once you are on the campsite, you don't actually realize. The cliffs around the campsite are awesome and are a great option for hiking and finding fossils. The campsite has a pool, spa and there is also a well equipped gym where a day pass is 5€ which is pretty fair. Bread for breakfast can be pre-ordered in the adjacent restaurant (which we did not test). Around 1km away there is a large supermarket that can easily be reached by foot in a couple of minutes. Dogs are allowed and welcome. The people at the reception are very friendly and helpful, so nothing to complain about there. The pitches are a on the smaller side and not well suited for large vehicles above 7m or so but otherwise sufficient and level. Regarding sanitary facilities, this is where it breaks apart. The facilities really need some love and care as they are pretty dated. That alone would not bother me but unfortunately, the cleanliness leaves A LOT to be desired. That is especially sad as the staff is driving around on golf carts all the time so one would expect stuff to be clean, which it isn't. Verdict: the place has potential to be a good option, especially given the overall scarcity of campsites in Peniche. But that requires some work as stated above. So, to the owners/operators: please do invest in the facilities urgently and get the staff to take care that it's clean, unfortunately there are people who do not leave a toilet as they expect to find it and that is really unacceptable on a campsite.
