Peninsula Bed & Cocktails

I loved the contact less arrival and the texting of instructions. The rooms were super cute, very well decorated and clean. Located right in the heart of town. Very comfy beds also. We could not turn the air below 72, but other rooms you could. We loved that there were 2 waters and 2 complimentary drinks. I stayed with my service dog and was approached after 15 mins of being there and was told I wasn't allowed to stay in the room I payed for with my service animal. I explained I answered all questions beforehand. Another 30 mins later, I was approached again at the bar by someone different who said I wasn't allowed to have my service animal there. It was such a super cute place, but I did feel out of place there with my service animal and all of the questioning. Bar tender was very welcoming and sweet. Was a bit weird walking through the bar and restaurant to get to the rooms. Whole place was very charming though.

Check in and parking we're easy. Walking through a restaurant to get to our room was something new for us. The room looked like the pictures posted so that was good. The Cosmopolitan room was not a very quiet place to stay. You can hear people talking at the restaurant below as well as on the sidewalk, across the street and you may get some entertainment from a musical performer across the street. There is no need to have a night light since the large gap between the floor and door allow an ample amount of light in. The interior side of the door handle fell of which was promptly fixed while we were out. There is no coffee maker or microwave in the room. Two complimentary coffees and two complimentary croissants for the restaurant on the first floor come with each stay. Also two waters and two canned cocktails are also provided with each stay. Our bed was made while we we were out. However, no clean lenins or towels for the second day. The bathroom door had to be slammed shut or it would not close. The shower head or water pressure could be improved. The room was clean except under the bed and the counter had something spilled on it. Staying warm on nights where the temp dipped into the low it's the heat couldn't keep up. Additional heaters were located in a closet to use.

We had a great stay. Nice and clean room in historic inn. Convenient check in and check out all over text. Great location at the heart of quaint downtown. Walk to good restaurants. Onsite Restaurant was very good, we had breakfast. We had a very nice romantic getaway here.

This is really cool old building that is very well done. Fun, quirky, friendly, and surprisingly comfortable. The bartender was friendly and engaging. The drinks were good, the bed was very comfortable. It is three stories and the elevator doesn't seem to work very often. Make sure To request a low floor if you have health issues. The surrounding area is full of interesting restaurants, bars, and shopping, and there is a French restaurant in the building. The contactless technology and communication worked perfectly. I will definitely be back!

First time here. Florida resident. Florida traveler. Read many reviews. I would agree with both the positive and negative. If the musty smell of an old building bothers you or walking up to the third floor or no one on site to assist, or anyone answering the main phone #, then this place is not for you. Great location. Fair price. Clean. Good size room (cannot use the balcony👎🏻). Great mixologist. Server referred a guest to the manager (not sure who/what she was managing) Two carbonated canned alcoholic beverages in fridge. Four small bags of generic chips. There were two vouchers for a coffee and croissant at the Mademoiselle restaurant. NO continental breakfast any way shape or form. Ate breakfast at the Madademoiselle, good food. Good service. Would go again. Does have USB ports on the top of the bed.

Honestly the best hotel I have stayed at! In a cute little area with shops and restaurants lining the street. Easy to checkin as check in is just arriving and walking into your room! We had trouble getting into our room at first, but as soon as I texted them the property manager (who was super friendly) immediately came up to us and helped us in super quick! We stayed in the Paloma room which was absolutely perfect, I loved how pink it is. They provided us each a complimentary canned cocktail, small snacks and water. Friday and Saturday of our stay we were able to utilize the bar downstairs, and have a coffee and croissant for breakfast as well! I assume they don’t offer these some days of the week as it was quiet leaving on Monday (which makes sense). The bed was very comfortable, I need to figure out what pillows they have so I can get some of my own. The water pressure and temperature was amazing for showering after the beach (which is also very close by). Next time I stay in the area, I will definitely be booking here again!

My stay was very pleasant in the Manhattan room. I have never stayed in a contactless hotel so I had reservations going in. However, everything was taken of, instructions were very clear and it was a seamless process both checking in and checking out. The location was excellent! The hotel is within walking distance of the local shops and restaurants. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Very spacious room with everything we needed. Complimentary snacks, water. Comfortable bed, nice bedding. Easy parking, discount breakfast, great quality food. Shower easy to use. Easy check in and out. Great location, walk to beach area. Nice neighborhood. And good price!

The place is super cute , we've been for a cocktail a few times. The bartender is great, but it appears that management has a hard time keeping inventory well. They were out of almost everything . Cool place to stop, def will be back!

Remodeled historic building. Room very cute, but small which we were fine with. Reasonable price per night. Rooms named after cocktails so no room numbers to remember. We stayed in The Bees Knees. The most important thing to us is that the room is clean and it absolutely was very clean. Nice continental breakfast. Bed was very firm. Overall satisfied with two night stay.

Made a reservation for my baby moon in September. Became high risk so was inquiring with them about what the charges would be IF I cancelled. Planned on going if they were going to charge me a cancellation fee. Before I could make that decision my debit card was charged for an erroneous amount. Not even the amount of the full stay. When I reached out to them I was told that even if I didn't cancel they have authorization to charge the card on file. I contacted my bank for the unauthorized charge and proceeded to cancel my reservation. I can't stay somewhere that practices business in this way. Would not recommend doing business with them.

Adorable lobby cocktail lounge! Adrian makes the best cocktails in Gulfport. Only 8 seats around the bar and very friendly scene. Check out the disabled elevator that has been converted to an old time speakeasy. Fun for a quick photo.

They never called back so I called them and they said they went the next day to see if there was hot water and there they said there was maybe I wasn't working the whatever faucet correctly, but there was hot water so they could not give me an adjustment to the price

Stopped in here as we were walking back to our car. Such a cool vibe with really friendly folks. The bartender was great! Drinks were delicious Will definitely stop in here again.

10/10 - this is now me and my family's new favorite spot to staycation. Gulfport is a super artsy community and as a local writer it was a great spot to write for the weekend. We stayed a Sunday- Tuesday and the Florida in July rain put a damper on our outdoor dinner plans- but we're able to try the wine bar next door and got take out for favorite spots - Mazzaro's Italian Market in St. Pete.We didn't even care and we enjoyed our Italian pastries reading and writing ithe super cute and cozy Mimosa room. Despite many of the downtown businesses being closed Mondays, it did make the downtown super quiet and a lot more relaxing. I really love Gulfport and the Peninsula because it is less of touristy neighborhood than SPB or Treasure Island. Gulfport was hard hit last year from the hurricanes and they are still in the process of recovering and rebuilding - I'm really happy I could be apart of supporting local businesses to help bring the town back to life! Due to the hotel being a historic building- the room was a bit stuffy and hot but the extra fan helped tremendously which cooled down the entire room. But no complaints and look forward to our next visit soon!!

I'm giving this rating 2 stars because my husband and another couple visited this hotel bar on a Saturday evening. The bartender was "pissy" after she misunderstood my drink order and had to make me the drink I wanted. I cashed out and left her a big tip because it is the holiday season. I left my jacket on the chair with my purse and 1/2 finished drink on the bar while we stepped away for a minute to take a photo. The bartender took my drink away without even asking me if I was done. Terrible service. To take my unfinished drink away after I left her a big tip was #1 BS. The lesson learned here is not to cash out until I am ready to leave, period.

Imagine an Airbnb with self check-in. It is just like that except for a hotel. The front door to the hotel doesn't lock despite the material I was provided saying it locked after 30 secs of a person using their PIN code (that's how you enter and exit the building and your room...the 4 digit PIN code they assign you). I called & texted the number provided but no one answered. I phoned the emergency number. The recording provided a list of acceptable "emergencies" and broken lock was on the list. I left my message w the answering service. No one ever called me back. The photos show what I (single woman alone) walked into when I checked-in (between 9 & 10 pm) ...a dark building with no one on site and a broken front door. The door to the hotel is set just feet from the sidewalk of a main street. The lobby is where they run the bar during the day. From the reviews it seems there are more bar patrons than hotel customers. In fact, this place is more like a bar that has a hotel than a hotel with a bar. A person could quickly and easily enter the building unnoticed at night, especially given people seem familiar with the small property because of the bar. It would be easy for a less than scrupulous person to know this place is an easy mark. They have security cameras but they aren't actively monitored. I tried to get someone's attention on the cameras. So, I guess if anyone breaks in or attacks a guest there's a possibility they will look up into the camera and the police can use that to find them The hotel is a cute theme and I love historic buildings. This seems like a historic home converted to a hotel but it lacks all the customer service and security you normally get at a hotel (or even a motel). At least with Airbnb if you can't get the owner, Airbnb customer service is available. There are advantages to a hotel with no one onsite or on-call . You could have a wild time here and no one would ever know ...but I'm not coming back. I'd leave tonight but they have a very strict (worse than Airbnb) cancellation policy. Note: I finally got a call back. The answering service informed me "The owner knows about the front door". I asked if they were going to fix it and the service just replied "she said she's aware the front door isn't locking" I wonder if the owner sleeps with her front door unlocked because her bedroom door locks.

Really happy to post a new review for The Peninsula or that it's under new management and has had a bit of a renovation. Note this is a review of the bar and restaurant only -- the hotel isn't welcoming guests to stay just yet, as renovations are still under way. Mel and I stopped in on a Friday evening after a few beers at O'Maddy's, looking forward to trying their food and cocktails. We were not disappointed! We started with the Smoked Mahi Spread, which is served with thick slices of toasted sourdough and garnished with slices of pickled jalapeño--delicious! Mahi flavor is always so subtle, so adding the jalapeño gives it a nice kick, while the sourdough provides great crunch to every bite. Just as we were finishing that dish, our first round of cocktails. We both went with drinks out server recommended that were not on the menu: Mel went with the Mezcal Old Fashioned, while I ordered the Smoked Old Fashioned. Both were excellent -- the Mezcal one stands out because it's lighter, brighter, and more lively on the palate than the Mezcal Old Fashioneds they used to serve at the old Sea Dog Cantina in Gulfport (now The Drunken Taco), while the Smoked Old Fashioned benefits from a lovely presentation: our server brought it to us in a corked bottle with the smoke trapped inside, so the beverage could absorb as much of that flavor as possible right up until it's poured. Order it and see for yourself! As for our dinners, Mel came out the winner this evening. She went with the NY Strip, which comes sliced and served on a bed of Goat Cheese polenta, chimichurri and roasted cherry tomatoes-- well seasoned, perfect temperature, excellent overall. My dinner choice, the Seaside Shrimp n' Grits, was very good, too--the shrimps were large, fresh, and flavorful and the mushroom and peppercorn gravy added a unique earthiness to the dish as a whole--but if you have the choice, go with the steak, especially if you're a steak lover. We wrapped up our meal with chocolate churros, another splendid recommendation from our server. Their spin on this Latin sweet treat features a Mexican chocolate dip for the churros that's got some sneaky heat to it -- nothing crazy as far as spiciness but just enough to be felt. Loved it, would definitely order it again. All in all, we had a wonderful date night experience at the "new" Historic Peninsula. Looking forward to more great things from this Gulfport Waterfront District icon as they continue to renovate and refine their guest experience.

This is a newly renovated hotel in a historical building with a fun cocktail theme. It was in a soft opening when we visited, but I can imagine when this joint gets going full swing it is going to be just awesome. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the owners hospitable.

I came here to enjoy live music (Hot Tonic) with my two young children and wanted to order a meal I could share with my boys. The staff were so incredibly accommodating! They went as far as to bring me items not on the menu to make sure my toddlers were satisfied. I ordered the half chicken and it was incredible! I will absolutely be back again!

Had a lovely brunch here the other day for an event. Bottomless mimosas were wonderful obviously but I was very pleased with the food as well! Well seasoned potatoes, eggs, and bacon. Very tasty! Very expensive but very good!

Can't speak for the hotel but the restaurant and bar are great. We stopped in for brunch and mimosas, both were great. The service was fast and friendly. Michael is great. Amazing place to stop by if you're in Gulfport.

Gulfport is such a lovely town and we come often. But this hotel is a waste of money and I think a letdown to the town. The elevator "is for show only" and never works according to the bartenders, and yet most of the rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors. So it's basically a walk-up. (Isn't that an ADA violation?) We had a 3rd floor "suite" so we could entertain a few family members. But after seeing our room with the bathroom sink in the living room, no wardrobe at all (hangers on the bedroom walls - how romantic), and a couch with no table, no light and not even an accompanying chair, we weren't about to ask our family members to schlep up 2 narrow flights of stairs. The shower leaked, there was no coffee maker, and the housekeepers (very nice but no English) didn't understand that we wanted clean and dry towels. The coffee downstairs is good but the "breakfast" is cold cereal and sugary pastries. By 10 am, the lobby is being mopped with strong disinfectant, a super pleasant way to greet the day as you head into Gulfport. At about $1000 for 3 nights, this hotel was a disappointment and a rip-off, and a letdown to the charming Gulfport.

Get here before the seasonal visitors descend. Craft cocktails, food worthy of SFO / Napa. This team is doing it right.

Great ambiance. Open for overnights early summer. Quaint atmosphere and cool little inside bar. Tuesday during the market grab a Daddy's Lemonade from Sean out front. A tasty beverage on a hot day. Grab brunch Sat, Sun and Tues or Dinner Wed-Sun.

Stayed 5 days in this boutique hotel/ bed & breakfast. Not sure how to categorize it. Probably would not stay there that long if we went back. No one is there during the day until much later about 2p. Still going through a transition as the restaurant is not in operation. Interior is lovely, room was nice but very small. Exterior needs work. Needs comfortable seating to make porch or back deck inviting. Elevator is very cool. Very light breakfast, choices were not the best. Loved the proximity to beach, shopping and restaurants in quaint Gulfport.

My fiance and I just enjoyed our 3rd stay over the past year at The Historic Peninsula Inn and we absolutely love it there. In fact with this recent stay we've spent over 2 weeks at the Inn within the year. This trip we checked in New Years Eve and stayed through our birthday as we both share the same birthday. Our accommodations are always great, spacious suites with nice baths. The food at Isabelle's is just the best and the breakfast is our favorite part of the day as we set out on the veranda to eat enjoying the atmosphere of lovely Gulfport and people watch. We highly recommend the Peninsula and Gulfport, it's quiet, it's laid back and oh so relaxing. We like our morning walks and it's so nice to walk down to the beach and set on one of the many benches then stroll the side streets making our way back to the Inn. She's an old structure well maintained by Veronica, Thomas and staff and she is very charming. Old Florida at it's finest and we love that. Enjoy your stay and tell Coco Gulfport's first pet mayor always on duty in the lobby we said hello.

They are working hard on renovations but the new little Lobby Bar and porch area is avail Th,Fri from 4 artisan cocktails and small bites. Yummy. I know they have brunch Sa&Su but will post after I try it Good and service great attitudes

We stayed here for our wedding and we have nothing but great memories. The staff is amazing and will do anything to accommodate your every need. A special thank you to the owners for going the extra mile to ensure we have an unforgettable time. Needless to say we will be recommending Historic Peninsula Inn to all our friends and family!

First off the host station is inside. So if you come to the main entrance they send you to the side, through a arch. And then you need to walk through the front porch to a door. And then go into a area that is right by the main entrance. No sign no staff points to where to go. If fact a couple came in and stood around, waiter and busboy walked past and didn't say a word. So they left. The hamburger was OK. Thursday is hamburger special day, but if you get a couple of toppings you're right up to the regular price. But it comes with a glass of wine! The waiter was slow, but he had a couple of other tables. Our second time, not sure they will get a third try.

This used to be a great local place for cocktails and food and friends. The new owners have raised prices to a ridiculous level. We ordered 3 martinis and our bill was $54. I am aware that prices of everything have gone up, but this is just price gouging! BEWARE!!!

Really enjoyed our stay at this property. Stayed in the Kathmandu suite. Room was clean and comfortable. Owners really care about the property and greet you warmly upon check in and turn take you to your room explaining the features, layout of the property, and discussing the available morning coffee and breakfast. Isabella's (the restaurant and bar) is charming and food drinks were very good and fairly priced. Easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, and bars and the Gulfport waterfront. On street parking. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

We had a fantastic Happy Hour at this lovely spot last night. Sat outside on the beautiful porch and sipped a delicious special House Margarita. We had Truffle Fries & Fried Artichokes, both the drinks and Appetizers are on the Happy Hour Special Menu. Met the owner Gaston and he bought us an additional Ceviche App. which was quite the welcome surprise. We cant wait to go back after the finish the work on the interior! I strongly suggest this spot!

Nice rooms, beautiful front porch with rockers, nice breakfast included, good service, reasonable rates, great location (walking distance to fun shops, restaurants, bars). We'll be back no doubt.

Unfortunately my travel plans changed and I needed to cancel my reservation at the inn with 24 hours advance notice. The staff was extremely helpful and professional on the phone and let me know that even though their cancellation policy requires 48 hours notice, they were happy to cancel my reservation. I greatly appreciated the cheerfulness with which the reservation person handled my call. I will definitely visit this hotel in the future!

Haven't had the pleasure of actually staying at the Inn due to the fact that I live in Gulfport, but I have been to Isabelle's! The food was fantastic! I highly recommend the biscuits and gravy and the bacon is absolutely delicious. Ordered another side of bacon because it was that good! Service was great and everyone was super friendly.

Where was the wait staff? Lovely evening last night on the patio listening to the beautiful music of Dale Williams. Really a perfect setting. We came in and seated ourselves at a table where a large crowd had just left. We were there for 2 hours and no one bussed the dirty dishes!! Waiters did their best to serve meals and drinks but they were overwhelmed. Management did not seem prepared for the crowd. Really nice time aside from staff issues.

Stopped by, as many other times to listen to music in side garden area, however this time the host station was unattended and after waiting 10 minutes we sat ourselves at an open table. Waitress stopped by after another 10 minutes and asked if we needed anything I told her menus and drinks. She said she would return shortly but never did, and the next person was someone who claimed to be the manager and who told us we were not allowed to sit there as the tables were reserved., and she was not at the host station as she was overwhelmed with attending to tables and the host station. No sign of reservation was at our table and she continued to ask us if we were here to eat or drink, I told her both she then preceded to tell us it would be a while, I said ok, we were enjoying the music . She then rudely told us that we could get drinks at the bar and then the food was no longer available because the kitchen was backed up. She then became very boisterous and decided to ask us to leave the premises or she would call the police to which I replied, go ahead as we had not deserved such a harsh response. We decided to leave. I can no longer recommend or will I return to spend my money and would strongly suggest that the management improve their training of the manager and staff to deal with the pubic in a professional manner.

LAUREN the hostess is an undeniable asset to this company. We were passing by the Inn on foot and happened to stop for a quick peek at the street menu even though we were already on our way to lunch. Lauren voluntarily inserted herself into the situation even after we mentioned we wouldn't be dining there today, and guided us through everything they had to offer as well as the times of which the respective menus ran. She even put in the extra effort to direct us to the Tuesday menu which was covered by another one (because we mentioned Tuesday's were usually our days off together). She also gave us a card and informed us on how to make reservations since it's getting busier right now. Lauren went above and beyond to entice new customers to stop by and try the food, which is refreshing as 15 year locals. We honestly had never heard of the Peninsula before, but solely due to Lauren's knowledge, professionalism, and initiative - we will absolutely be back to try the food!!

This Inn is super cute from the outside and is probably the best located hotel in Gulfport, FL. There ends my praise. The wifi was spotty; there is no reasonable guest seating inside -- and that's a problem in rain or sultry humidity -- but seating in the garden or on the front porch is available. The breakfast was a tasteless quiche and some blueberry muffins (good) and choices of items to toast. No decaf coffee. No sausage or bacon. No milk. Our room had peeling wallpaper and rusted pipes in the bathroom. The TV remote wouldn't operate the channel up or down. One had to key in channel numbers but there was not a TV guide and the revolving guide on channel 2 didn't match the shows on the TV. The air conditioner was underperforming.

My groomsmen, groom, and his family just stayed here this past weekend for our wedding. I got many compliments on how nice everyone was as well as how easy it was to get to and from our venue (Gulfport Casino). Great breakfast, my son loved the muffins! Awesome little bar area by the restaurant. Also, really cool history with this place.

Southern take on food here......Everything is very good.....lobster bisque, fried green tomatoes......entrees.....awesommmmmmm

I thoroughly enjoyed brunch at Peninsula Inn. Today was the inaugural brunch. I had the breakfast platter. Of particular note, the grits were perfectly done. Also, the french toast was divine. Will definitely make this my place for sunday brunch.

We attended a wedding hosted at The Peninsula Inn. We stayed in the Bombay Room, every room is fitted just right and with an exotic flair. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets are very silky. They have a very nice "Pub" type bar with lots of yummy specialty drinks. Dinner was served and it was amazing!!! We will be back to this Inn and the wonderful little area known as Gulfport!

I just love this place...the owner Veronica and staff are friendly and accommodating....they all want you to make sure that you enjoy yourself, whether as a diner/drinker or guest at the inn. The happy hour prices are great, he food is great, and the atmosphere is wonderfully charming.
