Penn Station-Baltimore

Can be bustling at times. Bring your own food and drink to avoid the tourist trap mark ups and lackluster selection you'll find in the station. I miss the old train departure board with the flapping tiles but the current one is always accurate. If you're taking a southbound train and you have an eticket be sure to have it ready before the train departs because you will have no phone signal for the first 5-7 minutes in the train tunnel. And if you're taking Marc the train will not be equipped with WiFi.

I really love going here to the Penn Station in Baltimore as much as people say about Baltimore and the trains here Baltimore really does offer a lot of train services now that they included the new light system that only goes to Canden yards home to the Baltimore Orioles but other than that, I would really recommend people who are traveling from the Baltimore area going to Washington the MARC train. Due to the ticket pricing is nine dollars one way to Penn Station to Washington Station. As well as the Mark travels all the way east near Perryville.

Wonderful historic building housing the Amtrak and MARC train station. The 1911 Beaux-Arts structure was beautiful both inside and out. So happy to see that this structure is being taken care of and in popular use as a travel option location. Parking is easily accessible in a close-by garage with steps leading into the station. Several vendors offer snacks and last minute gifts/souvenirs for your pleasure. A unique, immense sculpture stands outside the building front highlighting the surrounding arts district, and several picnic tables and chairs are available around its base.

I love Baltimore Penn Station! It's clean, very easy to navigate, and the people are so friendly!

Very nice, only been there twice Floors, lobby, main entrance, tickets center, waiting areas and Bathrooms decently clean amd organize.

Cool place to just visit. There are places to shop and eat and get a coffee. It's easy to get around and to purchase train tickets

Penn-Station was basic. It is the only train station I had ever been to prior to this experience. Then I went to Washington, DC and I saw what I wanted my train station to be like. Sorry Penn-Station, I love Baltimore. However, Washington's train station was awesome 👌.

Perhaps because I’m not used to the area, it was so difficult to locate Penn Station because the goggle map keeps taking me around. Glad I was able to dictate the place through the huge human statue in the front of the station. I will upload a photo and video of you can see the statue I am talking about. Other than that, once you get to Penn Station, Baltimore, it has lots of seating benches and you can see when your train is coming on the screen. Additionally, when the train is almost there, the front desk announces it so you get to go outside and wait. So far so good.

I appreciated the historical rustic aesthetic of this station. The wooden seats and the train schedule board. Something about it felt super timeless and modern at the same time.

Decent historic station with around the clock MARC and Amtrak service. It feels secure and there is plenty of seating and space to stretch out. It is quite easy to navigate with good infographic boards in the waiting room, compared to Penn Station in Newark which is rather confusing. The station may also be cleaner than a decade ago when I saw a mouse or rat at Dunkin my first time here. There is a Dunkin and gift shop with sandwiches. They just restored MTA Light Rail service to the station as well and there are plenty of busses, taxis, and ride share to get around. Late at night the Dunkin and gift shop are closed so I tried for a sandwich from Farmers Fridge which vended but then the outlet slot got jammed, so had to get a refund and wait till I was home over an hour later to eat.

Easy easy easy! Spacious waiting area and beautiful decor. Well displayed gate locations and boarding signs.

Pennsylvania Station in Baltimore is pretty straightforward. There's nothing particularly special about it. It's smaller compared to major stations in cities like New York or D.C., but it has all the basics you need. I just wish it felt a bit more modern. I thought they had done some renovations in the last few years, but places like the bathrooms don't really show it.

Easy to get around in with clear signage; trains were on time, and there were plenty of benches for people to sit and wait. The architecture is soaring, and yet personal: There's a large tile of a dolphin and a cherub where a drinking fountain once was. The outside of the building has a circle drive for taxi pickup or kiss and go.

This station did its job and got us to DC in about an hour. We got dropped off at the front and accessing our gate was easy. The train was on time and quick. Didn't interact with any workers but I did see an information desk with a few workers available. The benches and floors were clean. Dunkin donuts was open by the time we got there at 6am.

I LOVE train travel. But this station is less than stellar. It's dingy, it's dirty, it's in disrepair. There is no lounge. The second story is vacant. The bathrooms are small and crowded. Seating is variable. There is a lot of it, but depending on the time, it can be crowded. Initially while waiting on a train to DC, I was next to a homeless man. I don't mind that he was homeless, but I did mind his watching TV without headphones, his wet cough, and giant fart. When I returned tonight to head back to New York, it was far less crowded and seating was more comfortable. But I had to arrive almost two hours before my train departure, and was stuck there with little to do. You have a Dunkin and a basic magazine shop. Dunkin serves sodas and waters and juices and has some sandwiches and snacks. The vending machine was broken during my visit. The staff are nice and helpful, but this is possibly the worst major city train station I've been to.

Baltimore Penn Station is conveniently located downtown and easy to get to. It has been getting a facelift for the past couple of years and when it is done it will be back to its former glory. I take the Amtrak regularly to Philly and NYC. So much better than driving I-95.

I am not a fan of this train station. It's my least favorite between Union station in Washington, Philadelphia, and Grand Central. This station just kind of sucks. It's generally uncomfortable, there is only a Dunkin in the station and anything else is 3-4 blocks away. Baltimore needs to show this station some love.

Solid train station. It seems like they've been under construction since forever. It's clean, easy to navigate, never too busy, no real food, just Dunkin's so I would suggest grabbing something to eat before hand. Everyone that work there is kind and hopeful. There's a cab stand outside, as well as Lyft, Uber pick up. Parking across the street is hourly, pay by machine, 10 hours max. In the morning before 9am you'll have no issue with finding parking. If you park maybe 2 blocks up, parking is free. Highly recommend!

A really easy, no frills Amtrak train station. The only food offering here is Dunkin so make sure you plan if you're looking for a food hall you won't find that here. The bathrooms are clean, and if you look around you can see the stunning stained glass windows and the remnants of designs from the past. They are working on renovations, but I appreciate that it's a small station that connects you to wherever amtrak goes. I never park as street parking doesn't work for overnight and the garage can get pricey. The lines for pickup can get backed up but it's pretty fast.

The train station is undergoing some renovations to expand shops and space. Nonetheless, the train station is clean and organized. It has a nice calm vibe with the classic music playing in the background. There is access to different food options like farm fresh vending machine or food trucks nearby the station.

Centrally located in the city, Baltimore Penn Station houses Amtrak, MARC ( the regional MD train service), and the Light Rail. Currently, the only food available is a Dunkin' Donuts. The station and bathrooms were clean. The train station isn't that big, so you don't have to arrive that early before your train departure.

Beautiful, small, efficient station. You essentially walk in and are there - get to any track in under 3 minutes. Not too much in way of food or stores. (There's a limited menu Dunkin, convenience store. Nothing opened late night.) Restrooms are clean and lines are never bad. Getting picked up here is super easy with their circle in the front. You'll never have trouble finding your Uber. It's a gem.

Baltimore Pennsylvania Station was a destination of mine several years back when having a remote office in the Inner Harbor area. I recently visited Baltimore Penn Station, not much has changed, The station is In a serious need of an upgrade. In fact, the station opened in 1911, not sure how many upgrades they added since then, but it still appears worn down. I believe they have a project to renovate the station soon. We shall see, Other than its apperance, its always been reliable and easy to travel from this station.

This is the Philly version of DC's Union Station. Not many dining spots inside. At least there's a Dunkin. A couple of Pokemon gyms and stops if you play Pokemon Go. Big screens all over to tell you your train status. Amtrak personnel are nice. The charging ports in the seats stopped working as of September 25th. Even on the walls, the electrical outlets don't work anymore. Bring a portable charging device.

I used to catch the marc train from Penn to DC alot. Not much has changed. Only a tiny Dunkin donuts here. Bathroom stalls were all out of toilet paper and needed service. I told the customer service desk person and he immediately called for someone to tighten it up. Not sure what is upstairs, but eve after 20 years, I've felt like the space upstairs could be used for dining or other retail. Not sure of it's safety concern, but this place could be so much more.

Sure, it's in dire need of a Moynihan-esque refurb, and plenty of other reviews can tell you about the lack of outlets and minimal food/drinks. However, one big plus: it has temporary luggage/baggage storage. $10 per bag, intake stops at 4 and retrieval stops at 9 (Sunday hours). Big help if you want to go grab a burger at Turps and a pint at Guilford. Process is outdated - guy had to disappear with my license and credit card for five minutes, but the bag was safe. Wish more stations would do this (and not sure why Amtrak doesn't publicize it better).

Easy train station for Baltimore city. Station isn't packed and boarding your train will be super easy and not chaotic like other places. Food / drink Options are limited, so eat or drink before. - there's a Dunkin Donuts - there's a mini Mart with magazines and some snacks - they have a vending machine with drinks like sodas Seating - if you have a big group, finding seating together may be hard - seating is spread out across the whole station Restrooms - didn't check these out because there was a long line, so I would guess there aren't many stalls.

Waited here to pick up my nephew Thought the station appeared clean and quiet. I recommend parking on the side vs coming around the round about of your person isn't ready.

Amtrak stops here in Baltimore. It kind of sucks honestly. Pennsylvania Station is a place to use a bathroom pretty much. Bad area. Try to get in and out. Both Amtrak and MARC stop here. It really is a beautiful old building, so it's nice to look. There's cool things inside and out. On the platform there's a sign that says Baltimore. Selfie opportunity. It just sucks as a business. Many sketchy people around here. The increasing people traveling maybe will get them to pay attention to trouble areas such as this.

Beautiful station. You need to pay attention to the signs and announcements on where to go., when you go and what track. There is no one specifically there to completely guide you. Parking out from can be tricky depending on how crowded it is. There is ample sitting room. I did not see many charging ports, like the ones in Philly. But, I also was not playing to close attention to that. Getting there and getting on the train was a pretty smooth process.

Aside from the stupid man/woman statue out front, Penn Station is really nice. Has a very old world look and a beautiful ceiling in parts, stained glass if I'm not mistaken. It's super clean inside too. I saw no trash. Finding where to catch my train was easy. The main problem was there was no elevator/escalator in the vicinity and I had a huge heavy bag. I hadn't planned to carry it down a long flight of stairs.

I recently took my first train from Penn Station when I met a friend in Philadelphia for a day. Penn Station is in a pretty convenient, central location in the city, and you can catch an Amtrak or MARC train here. It's not large (easy to find your track and make it to your train quickly upon arrival but don't expect much in the way of amenities - vending machines but no cafe), and it's historic and pretty beautiful actually. I loved the experience of hopping on a train and being somewhere fun to explore so quickly, so I already have a few more trips planned using Amtrak and MARC trains from Penn Station soon. I'm excited to be in a city where I can just hop on a train! Penn Station makes it pretty easy!

Penn Station was built in 1910, and you really feel like you've stepped back in time when you're there. The architecture is gorgeous, and they have a history of the station that you can watch on closed-circuit TV while you wait for your train. I came in on the MARC (a local line) from Aberdeen and left on the Amtrak to Raleigh, so I can't speak to the safety in the surrounding area. I felt very safe inside, though. The bathrooms were clean, the station was open and bright, and they have free WiFi. You can catch the light rail here, too, and everything is well marked and easy to find.

Very pretty train station that also serves the Baltimore Light Rail and the MARC Penn Line. The station is easy to navigate and feels safe at all times, unlike its northern counterpart in New York, which really needs an overhaul. I especially like the waiting area as it is wide open, not that claustrophobic feel you get in other stations. It is also a fun station to railfan, as there is plenty of Amtrak traffic that comes through here, and to watch them come into and out of the nearby Baltimore and Potomac and Union tunnels is quite a sight. Both tunnels are chokepoints due to sharp curves and slow speed limits, so it is not uncommon to see one train after another try to pass through these old relics. In regards to this station, it too is an old relic, but one to relish.

Everything services fine as a train station. Not many food options, seems to be a cafe and a Dunkin' Donuts express that doesn't serve food outside of pastries. That's okay though, my only real issue is walking around this entire place and not finding outlets anywhereee. One should be able to settle down, get some work done, charge up at any transportation station. I have to leave and go somewhere nearby while I wait.

This is a wonderful little train station. It's an architectural gem with beautiful stained glass on the ceiling interior.

I suppose I was expecting a larger city like Baltimore to have a larger station with more amenities than, in fact, were available. WiFi was free and bathrooms are open. This was a Saturday and there were no food places open that I could tell. The benches are wooden and not comfortable. The MARC and AMTRAK trains run through this station. It seems to be in a neighborhood in which I'd be sure to be aware of my surroundings. We were easily able to catch a Lyft from this station too. Public Transportation can also be located nearby.

Not the best space, it's transitional so a lot of ppl are coming in and out. I tried to charge my phone here and went to the info desk to ask where the outlets are. Apparently the homeless people messed with them so they had to get rid of them? So bizarre and inconvenient. I mean, how are you supposed to kill time if you're at a train station without the ability to charge your devices? There's also not really anywhere inside to grab a bite or drink as far as I could tell.

You can tell this once was a thriving station back in the day. It is a bit run down and I'm not a great neighborhood, but if you want to travel via Marc train or Amtrak this is for you. Quick turn around with high volume of trains leaving in and out.

I would like to especially thank the lady at the Helpdesk, I had stupidly purchased 2 identical tickets instead of opposite destination round trip tickets, and she was able to switch my return ticket in minutes and got me on a train that essentially got me home at the same time I was originally expecting!!! Thanks girl!

I am not sure if I came on a good day or If I was just one of the first few people here. I got here at 4am and it was spotless. It was so clean.I went to the bathroom and it was just as clean in there.I expected a scary situation and for it to be so much worse? It is a small station compared to Union Station but it gets the job done.

A semi large and clean Amtrack / MARC train station. It was easy to purchase MARC ticket to DC at the self serve kiosk. A Duncan Donuts stand was available for snacks and drinks. Bathroom was relatively clean. What impressed me the most was the police office that helped me when the information attendant was absent. The very polite officer wrote down train number and train platform information for me when I told him I was an out of town rookie. He made sure I was at the correct entrance to the train platform. Taking the MARC is the best and inexpensive way to travel between Baltimore and DC.

Solid quality but well-worn historic train station with lots of connections to destinations both near and far. There's not much as far as food goes and I've never purchased anything in the station but the waiting areas are more than sufficient. The best part is you can get to DC in an hour for $9 on one of the 15+ MARC trains that run between the two cities every day and skip all the traffic. This has been my beginning or end point for places as close as BWI airport and far away as Atlanta and I've never had any issues.

This train station is awesome. I love traveling to and from Pennsylvania Station in Baltimore. Highly recommend.

Clean station. Kind of empty but I was there around 3 am to catch a train. Officer was kind and gave me the necessary info about my train.

For the most part, the station is fine. However, the washrooms at this station were among the worst I have ever encountered. Mind you, I was there on a busy weekend, but it would be nice if some more attention was paid to the cleanliness of washrooms while there are high volumes of passengers moving through the station.
