Whoa, hold the cider! If you've ever looked at my reviews, you'll see I'm a bit of a cider fiend, always on the lookout for something new to try. After a search for what to do on a gloomy weekend, my partner and I decided to check out Pennings Farm Cidery. When I say I could have spent the entire day there, I'm not exaggerating. I had a total blast from the moment we arrived to the moment we departed, every aspect of Pennings was awesome! We got there around 12:15 in the afternoon, so it wasn't quite packed yet, which I will also attribute to the weather, as I'm sure it probably gets very crowded during nicer conditions. We first entered the main market area which featured a general store concept and a large bar with seating scattered throughout the space. The bartender was really helpful for our first visit, which included making cider recommendations for the flight we ordered. She also informed us that just a short walk away, was the actual cidery area. We ordered food while at the bar and both of our meals, a salad and a quesadilla respectively, were delicious. The price for our flight and food was extremely reasonable and we continued on with some shopping around the store. I was able to purchase a few gluten-free items and they also had venus fly traps available, so I opted to grab one of those, too. We made our way to the cidery area where they make fresh pizzas, but we went inside to order a flight of additional ciders that were available. The bartender at this spot was also really helpful with making recommendations, we enjoyed all of the ones we picked. There was plenty of seating (Adirondack chairs) situated on the small hill that's right by the main area, so we were able to enjoy the beautiful view with music as we sipped our ciders. Once finished, we walked back down towards the store where there's a nice nursery filled with gorgeous plants. The final touch was when we decided to have ice cream at their small stand built right next to the main store outside. My partner didn't care for the apple cider donut sundae they ordered, insisting that the donut was terribly stale as it was plopped (whole) at the bottom of the ice cream cup. My chocolate peanut butter ice cream was pretty decent, but nothing spectacular, in fact, I should knock down a star just for their lack of cherry vanilla (just kidding). Overall, this is an amazing place to visit with any group.
