WONDERFUL - highly recommend. Stop by for a walk-in tasting of wines and cheeses. Had a pairing tasting featuring a variety of ten different sheep/goat cheeses with 10 different wines (wines/reds). Wow! Beautiful location, very kind employees, tasty products, and a small store inside where they sell cheese/crackers/etc. We missed the tour, which I believe they have once a day at least on the weekends, but hope to return for that experience too. Bonnie served us, she is incredibly knowledgeable and made us feel very welcomed. Thank you, Bonnie! p.s. you can feed the goats in the parking lot!

What a wonderful way to finish a wine tour! Emma was amazing and endured our stories! The cheeses were absolutely Divine!! Be sure to check out the cheese room and the gorgeous views. Plus the goats are sooo cute!!! 🥰

First time visiting last Saturday with a group of friends and it was a wonderful experience! We did the wine tasting and the cheese tasting and loved everything we tried. The sheep cheese we got to try at the end was my favorite. The staff was super friendly and answered all of the many questions we had. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Google
Beautiful place with delicious cheese and wine. We were given a tour of the goat and sheep barns and got to see the cute kids. The tour was very informative both about the husbandry and cheese making side of things. They have a large outdoor seating space where they do tastings of their cheese and wine and also they sell the cheeses in store. Dogs are allowed in the tasting area and there is a little dog run in the front as well. The barn was not wheelchair accessible but the rest of the space was. Easy parking.

Pennyroyal Farm is a cheese lover's dream! The farm's artisanal cheeses are simply divine, each bite a burst of fresh, creamy perfection. The setting is picturesque, and the staff is passionate about their craft. A delightful experience, especially for those who appreciate fine, handcrafted cheeses.

Boont corners vintage cheese is the bomb! Came for the farm tour with wine and cheese tasting. Great wine, great cheese, and stunning patio views.

Being in the wine industry, it's rare that I'm really truly wow'd by a wine educator, but Bonnie is a GEM. She was nice, genuine, and seemed to be actually interested in getting to know us. I've never met someone who seems to love their job so much and so genuinely. Some of the best service ever. The wines were good and the cheese pairings were fun! We enjoyed our time and would recommend to others, though not to serious wine people.

Google
Incredible stop, definitely worth it. We did the wine and cheese tasting (5 wines with 7 cheese pairings), SO good and very reasonably priced. They also have more food, if you are in the mood for something more substantial. The area is really picturesque too, and you get to see both the vines and the sheep and goats. All the cheeses are made on site, as well as most of the wines. Made for a beautiful afternoon.

Yelp
If you are planning to visit Anderson Valley, Pennyroyal Farms is a must! My husband and I first visited a year ago and then again a few days ago. It was a wonderful time from the minute we were greeted and throughout our cheese and wine tasting experience. We were so happy to see that Morgan was still there and we were delighted that she was able to be part of our time while we were visiting. Morgan was exceptional at explaining the wines and cheeses. She was cheerful and fun throughout our time there. We loved all of the cheeses and the wine and decided to become members on our first visit. We eagerly await our wine delivery through out the year. If you have time to do the goat tour, I highly recommend it. My sister in law and I also walked around the lovely gardens. So much fun!!! Cheers!

Yelp
Loved our visit to Pennyroyal farm! We participated in the farm tour that ended with a wine and cheese tasting. Our tour guide,Bonnie, was wonderful! Learned a lot about the farm from the wine vineyards to all the goats and sheeps in the farm. I highly recommend taking the tour and the cheese tasting was delicious! We had to buy some after.

Yelp
Pennyroyal Farm in Boonville was an absolute gem! We did the farm tour and had a cheese tasting with wine, and it was one of the most memorable experiences. The tour took us through the heart of the farm, where we met so many friendly goats -- it's clear they're well-loved and happy, which makes all the difference in the quality of their products. The cheese tasting was a highlight; each cheese was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor, and the wine pairing made it even more special. The staff was knowledgeable and passionate, sharing insights about the farm's sustainable practices and the cheese-making process. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Boonville -- this place is a must for cheese and animal lovers alike!

Yelp
Absolutely loved our tasting experience at Pennyroyal farm! Luckily I happened across this place on instagram while planning a trip to Mendocino. Since I love wineries, goat farms, and it was on the way, we had to make a point to stop in. We booked a reservation for a wine and cheese pairing. They also have farm tours, but sadly none of them lined up with our schedule for the day. Along with our wonderful pairing, we also ordered some other items from the kitchen. The cheeses were all quite delicious and paired nicely with each wine! While they were all goat cheeses, none of them were too strong, so they might even appeal to the goat cheese haters out there. Had we not been on our way out on a vacation, I definitely would've bought some to take home. We also had the deviled eggs and seasonal crostinis, both of which were great and I would order again. Since it is a working farm there were lots of flies, but they had these cool wind contraptions to keep them away, so cool in fact that we ordered some afterwards to have at home and for picnics. I ended up taking home a bottle of a white blend that I look forward to pairing with some goat cheese when I open it! While we didn't get to see the working goats, we were able to visit the retired goats and even got to feed them. We also shopped around their store which had a lot of fun food items and other miscellaneous things. Would absolutely come back here, and do hope to make it back in the future.

Yelp
We had a great time doing the cheese tasting and hanging out with goats! Absolutely do the cheese + wine tasting, it's a great way to relax on the way back home from Mendo. There wasn't many people on the day we went (sunday morning in April). But our cheese person told us that summers can be hot and packed, as well as early fall because of the wine people. There are a few non-cheese items sold at the counter and they are pretty fun! From wool from their sheep to their cheese! It was a good ambiance for sure. They have a few award winning cheeses that actually taste the part at a very affordable price. Definitely worth a stop!

Paul K.

Yelp
Fantastic cheese tasting experience + tour! I loved that we got up close to all the sheep's and goats that do the hard (and soft) cheese work!! Our tour guide was a tad more interested in the *husbandry* than I think most of our group. But he was still friendly, funny, and knew a ton. We saw one of the owners at work in one of the cheese rooms and also said hello to the chickens and dog on property before finally sitting down on the lovely Pennyroyal patio for a 3 cheese and wine tasting pairing. All were delicious and other tour group members and bar staff were a delight. Also ordered deviled eggs and onion rings- highly recommend both of those items as well.

Yelp
We had the best time at Pennyroyal Farm! We had reserved our wine and cheese tasting in advance, but probably didn't need to since they weren't very busy on a Sunday afternoon. The (dog friendly) patio was beautiful, with plenty of both covered and uncovered seating. We chose a table in the sun and had a beautiful view of the goats running around in the distance, as well at the rolling hills beyond that. Our host was welcoming and very knowledgeable. The tasting included 5 different wines and 7 different cheeses! He walked us through each one and advised on how to pair them. We were a bit worried because the flies were very attracted to the cheeses, but he brought over a few fly fans which solved the issue! All the wines we tried were fantastic, but the Eye of the Needle was easily my favorite of the bunch. We also got to try the Sauvignon Blanc at the end, which was excellent. The cheeses were equally impressive and I was blown away by the variety. The tasting was only $25/person, which I thought was pretty reasonable. After our tasting, we visited the "Grandma Goats" in the retirement pasture by the parking lot, and got to feed them out of our hands. Overall, this was an amazing experience - would happily return!

Yelp
Pre-pandemic, Pennyroyal Farm was a regular stop on any trip to Mendocino, CA, via Anderson Valley wine country. This was our first return to the farm in over three years for a sitdown tasting of their phenomenal goat/sheep cheeses and wines. And man, have they not lost their touch on either over the years. And they also now have outstanding Covid-safer protocols dialed in for the safety of their guests and employees. Booking an online reservation for a tasting is easy. We timed our tasting for a late lunch at the tasting room outdoor patio in Boonville. Late-October weather was showing off, so we had a comfortably cool/sunny afternoon with not a cloud in the sky. After checking in on arrival we had the choice of any seats on the patio. They've got high tops and standard tables that are well-spaced throughout the patio, as well as lawn chairs and fire pits scattered about in the nearby grassy field in front of the vineyards. After being welcomed by our host, we were given a menu of various cheese, wines, and combinations. Since it's been so long since our last visit (and because we were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary), we splurged on the "Smorgasboard," a full spread of six Pennyroyal cheeses (soft and hard), charcuterie, assorted pickle-y veggies, membrillo, mustard, and flatbreads. Plus we added deviled eggs. For wine, I had the 2021 Pinot Noir and the husband ordered their 2022 Rosé of Pinot Noir. Don't over-order shame us! It's been three years! Suffice to say, the Smorgasboard was IMPRESSIVE! Our host explained all the cheeses and accompaniments and we went to town. You know how sometimes reality doesn't always live up to the anticipation and build-up we create prior to a moment? There was none of that for this visit to Pennyroyal Farm. It's impossible to tell you what was our favorite. Every cheese found a perfect companion and combination on the board. And my Pinot was a splendid counterpoint of jammy currants and dried fruit against the richness of the goat & sheep cheeses. The hubby also enjoyed his Rosé. And if you need to cleanse your palate between sips, they have a self-serve touchless spring water station on the patio. If I haven't convinced you yet to visit Pennyroyal Farm, I'm afraid nothing will. Which is also fine as it leaves more availability for our next visit! (But seriously, go visit!)

Yelp
We came on a family trip and got to enjoy a nice afternoon here. They gave us a tour to see their sheep, the cows, the dogs. Then saw the great garden area and cheese rooms as well as have our tastings with a great grazing board. We had a blast here. My little was soo excited to be able to come and see the animals and also enjoy some grape juice and snacks. It was a tad expensive. I mean I get it, they need to make money, but for the food we got, it was pricey. Otherwise I did buy some bottles of wine and we did have a blast and I would come again for sure.

Vanissa H.

Yelp
I'm not impressed by this winery. I had high hopes, and was very disappointed. Upon arrival they told us to grab a seat outside and they'd be there to help us. I sat at our table for over 5 minutes before the server finally came to our table and said she'd help us at the bar top. After visiting Goldeneye Winery, this was not the service I was expecting to receive. Tastings were complimentary and cheese wine pairings were $10 per person. Wine was okay, nothing special, glad we didn't have to pay for our tastings. The winery wasn't busy, I'd expect them to walk around and provide better customer service than having to self-serve. I'd say skip this place and check out another winery on the trail.

Yelp
I came here with a group of seven as a stop on my bachelorette party and we were all blown away by how wonderful an experience it was. First, a shout out to Bonnie, our tour guide. Bonnie was so friendly, kind, informative, and a joy to be around. She is extremely knowledgeable about so many aspects of the farm and winery, has a deep love for the farm and her work, and her affection for everything around us (the goats, the sunspots, the land) was infectious. We were not the easiest crowd, I know, because we showed up late and were a bit slow-moving, but Bonnie was so incredibly gracious through it all. I would go here just to visit her again because of how kind and welcome she made us all feel. The goats are absolutely wonderful. They love to be pet, love humans, and are so happy. We got lucky and got to see the baby goats that were just born the day before. I cannot overstate how cute and special this part of the tour was. The wine & cheese pairing was likewise excellent. There were some in our group who weren't heavy drinkers, so getting served in the carafes was a huge plus because it allowed everyone to control how much they wanted. The cheese plate was also fantastic. We loved the pinot noir cherries, I personally loved the brie and the leycheese best, but everyone at the table was happy.

Lynne W.

Yelp
Ambiance and service was good. We came for the wine and cheese pairing and left with several bottles and a cute goat sweatshirt!

Yelp
Will NEVER be a customer of this winery again! My sister and I were in Boonville, from out of town. My sister is a member there at the winery, and she needed to pick up wine. So when we saw the winery, and looked online for their hours (open until 5pm), we decided to stop in. We arrived at 4pm and entered the tasting room with my husband and 2 kids in tow. Only my sister and I went to the tasting counter (hubby and kids stayed by merch shelves by the front door) to inquire about tasting. VERY rudely they said "NO, we aren't doing tastings. We have an event at 5pm, but we can give you a "splash" of wine before you leave." There were zero signs that said anything about "not open to the public," "no tastings available," or "tasting room closed." We got our splash of wine and were promptly told that we weren't allowed anywhere but at the table by the front door. I needed to use the restroom (which is outside on the patio), so I asked a staffmember where to find the restroom. She said absolutely I could use it, and it was out past the patio outside. As soon as I exited the tasting room onto the patio, I had 2 staff ladies eyeballing me and rushing over to tell me I am not allowed outside. I told them I just needed to use the restroom which is ONLY located outside, past the patio. They "allowed" me to walk back to the tasting room and finish my "splash." At 4:50pm, we were told "it's time to wrap it up and you need to leave." This winery should make it known that NO Walk-ins are Welcome. Reservations allowed only if you buy several bottles of wine. And we don't care if you are a paying customer or not...you are expendable and we don't want you here.

Annaise R.

Yelp
Okay everything here was amazing. Wine tasting is waived here. I just thought the cheese tasting should be a 2 in 1 order. Or should be waived if you buy cheese. We spent over $130 for getting an appetizer 2 cheese tastings 1 wine tasting and a bottle of Pinot 2 cheese a box of cookies and the $5 bag.

Rochelle D.

Yelp
Our trek to Anderson Valley ended at Pennyroyal Farm, where we were hoping to do a goat cheese tasting and wine. Unfortunately we arrived in the later afternoon without a reservation. But we didn't leave empty handed. I was still determined to take home some cheeses. The customer service here is amazing. Even though they were close to closing time, they still gave me a quick rundown of the cheeses they were selling that day. We made it out of there with a tub of goat cheese, which I'm looking forward to including in tomorrow morning's scrambled eggs, and a wheel of chevre and crackers to snack on. Next time we're in the area we will be armed with a reservation :)

Nicole D.

Yelp
Amazing experience! Great workers. Adorable goats and the cheese and wine tasting was a great deal and delicious

Brenda R.

Yelp
Came for the farm and the cheese/wine was a plus. The tour began in the garden and then we headed to see the baby goats. We aren't allowed to pet the little ones as they are too young. We got to pet the other goats, and sheep. The tour guide was informative on the goats and sheep, appreciated that. The entire farm and seating area is picturesque. She showed us and explained the cheese machinery. We ended the tour with 3 cheeses and 3 wines. I personally wasn't fond of the wine, but the whole experience was great. Worth the short drive from wan Francisco to pet the farm animals and enjoy cheese.

Lori H.

Yelp
This place is adorable! A great lunch or stopover on the way into or out of Mendocino (and not many of the wineries serve food). They have an extensive variety of cheeses and wines and the staff was super helpful in helping us choose a bottle. We opted to share a bottle of Pinot instead of a tasting. It's a place you could sit and sip for hours - plus there are cute goats!

David C.

Yelp
Nice open outdoor seating, super cool place to enjoy some wine and cheese. This visit vineyard/farm is awesome. The staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. I must add this place is dog friendly and they even have a dog park in front.. The sheep and goats are at this location and I must say they definitely have some great cheeses. We picked up a few bottles and some cheese which they gave us a ice pack to keep it fresh for the ride back home.

Jessica O.

Yelp
Make your dreams of petting the cutest goats come true! We did the farm tour at Pennyroyal Farm which took us through all their enclosures with goats, sheep, and a llama. Their main tasting area allows dogs, but you aren't allowed to take them on the farm tour to avoid any risks with their herd dog. The tour took about 45 minutes and we were walked through the process of how the goat and sheep cheese gets made on-site. It was informative and interesting and I got to pet a lot of different goat friends. They were all so friendly, if you come at the right time they'll have younger babies on site. After the farm tour, we were seated and enjoyed a wine tasting with a cheese plate with their soft, semi-soft, and hard goat cheeses. It was all really good, but my favorite was the Laychee soft goat cheese, it was so creamy and rich. The sauvignon blanc was so bright and crisp, which we enjoyed so much we brought a bottle home. They also had these red wine soaked cherries that were delicious with the cheese and crackers. We were camping at Hendy Woods, but I would have loved to try more of their food if we didn't already have dinner at the campsite. It was a relaxing time here and our host was so knowledgeable and nice. Overall, such a fun time and a memorable birthday celebration!

Courtney P.

Yelp
Wrapping up a long holiday weekend on the coast, we made a reservation at Pennyroyal Farm for a wine and cheese tasting on a Monday afternoon before heading home. They have plenty of parking and ample outdoor seating. I also loved that they had a small, enclosed area to let your dogs off leash to stretch their legs or use the restroom. They are dog friendly but dogs must remain on leash at your table during your tasting. For $25 each, we got to sample five different wine tastings which were perfectly paired with five different cheeses. They waive the price of your tasting if you purchase six bottles or more. We thoroughly enjoyed the ambience, the wine, and definitely the cheese. They're on site store sells all of their wine, cheeses, and other fun local items. We ended up going home with one bottle of their Chardonnay, one bottle of a white blend, and one bottle of their Pinot Noir.

Ewa U.

Yelp
You need to try this place. The winery alone is spectacular - w ample outdoor seating gazing at the vineyards. With an tucked away goat farm- you can enjoy a charcuterie board made with goat cheese from yours truly! The wine? You can get a flight served in mini carafes .. the whites were good - very buttery and softer on the palate. The reds were a little acidic- but those that enjoy a jammier finish will enjoy 'em!

Kelsey B.

Yelp
What a special spot. A friend living in Booneville for the summer took me here in August. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. They have a huge selection of farmstead cheese, bottles of wine, etc. and offer tastings. The prices for everything were incredibly reasonable and we opted to a tasting outside on their patio, overlooking the farm. We opted for the smorgasboard (a steal at $40 something as it fed 3 of us) wine / charcuterie tasting. Not only was it absolutely beautiful, but all of the items on the board, along with the wines were delicious. Our server was super knowledgable and very friendly. We were on our way to a wedding in Fort Bragg, but we easily could have spent hours upon hours at Pennyroyal Farm. This spot is an absolute gem and not to be missed if you're in the area.

Han Z.

Yelp
We made a last minute reservation for their flight and bites, which were delicious. The setting was beautiful - lovely grounds - and practical as there was a heat lamp above each table to keep us warm. The food paired perfectly with the wine and was SO good. I wish I could eat 100 of their homegrown potato chips with crab and caviar. The standouts for us were the Pinot Trio and the Rose Brut. Would definitely come back again if I was in the area and recommend to friends too!

Michaela B.

Yelp
I have been here several times and have always loved it. It's a beautiful location and we love to support local farms. Unfortunately things have changed in the last few months and looking at the other reviews it looks like we're not alone in noticing. I'd no longer recommend due to the customer service, honestly one of the worst experiences overall I've ever had. Our group ordered close to $300 worth of charcuterie went outside and sat in one of the 10+ open tables. An angry older woman with short gray hair then came over and told us to move because we had not spent a sufficient amount of money to be seated in the shade. She said that we'd have to get up and move into the sunny area on a hot day (seating is open and you're supposed to seat yourself in open tables not marked reserved). The entire time we were there, the shaded patio was almost completely empty, so this was bizarre and clearly the manager needs a refresher on how to treat guests. AppWhen we nicely asked her if we were causing a problem and what we could do to help, she said she would have expected our party to order at least two bottles of wine in order to be seated and walked away angrily. So apparently don't go to the 'goat cheese farm' unless you're planning to drink their wine. Management needs to remind their staff they're in the business of customer service and any policies should be kindly and clearly communicated in advance, at the bare minimum.

S D.

Yelp
Cheese and wine, you can't go wrong at Pennyroyal Farm! I strongly recommend a tour, it's short and you get to pet baby goats! I learned a lot about goat cheese too! The tour ended with wine and cheese tasting. The cheese was fabulous, the service and tour guide were great. And, perhaps most importantly, the setting is absolutely breathtaking. Go and enjoy!

Cybil L.

Yelp
Spent a relaxing afternoon at the Pennyroyal farm! We signed up for the tour along with their wine and cheese tasting. Everything in that board was delicious! The Laychee was our favorite! The staff is top notch and knowledgable - they know what they are doing as seen by how the animals are cared for and the ground's upkeep.

Jay F.

Yelp
A beautiful estate with sweeping views of the vineyard. Their cheeses are primarily made of goat and sheep's milk and are good pairings to their estate wines. Understanding that palettes are subjective, none of their wines stood out for me unfortunately. Their staff however is friendly and accommodating.

Alexa A.

Yelp
The CHEESE! I've never had a chance to try the wine but THE CHEESE is for sure a winner. I love the menu they have up that explains all of the different cheeses they have in house. Super helpful in choosing exactly the cheese I'm in the mood for! Also their staff is very kind, which is a huge plus. Make a reservation to sit on their patio! We didn't have one so we took our cheese and crackers to go and ate at the brewery across the way.

Mike K.

Yelp
Terrible customer service and rude staff. Our friends were here on a Sunday afternoon and asked if there was room for us to join them. They were told we could sit at two barrels with stools. A few minutes after we sat down and ordered a bottle of wine, another employee told us we needed to move and couldn't sit there. The winery was pretty empty, and there should have been no issue for us to sit near our friends. Instead, they told us we had to sit on a table outside in full sun. We decided to cancel our bottle of wine and go somewhere else that wanted our business. As we were leaving, the same woman rudely told us, "better luck next time" as we were walking out. The next place we went into was super friendly and accommodating and saved the rest of our afternoon.

Amy P.

Yelp
We had a fun experience getting the tour with our kids and other families. Beautiful spot, good wines and delicious cheese.

Emily D.

Yelp
Wonderful place! We took the farm tour with kids aged 3 and 7, and thoroughly enjoyed the wine (juice) and cheese at the end of the tour. Learned about and got to pet goats, spotted sweet herding dogs taking a nap, and learned about the tiny sheep who graze among the wine grapes. Beautiful setting, great story and great staff. Our dog hung out on the patio, and they have off leash space as well. She wanted to herd the sheep a bit, but we understand most of the farm is just for the dogs who work here. :)

Natalie F.

Yelp
Wine? Check! Cheese? Check! Adorable goats?!?! Hell ya. This place is my personal heaven! I had the chance to visit Pennyroyal Farm on a recent trip to Ukiah.. one of the last places I visited before this whole outbreak. Such an amazing experience. The farm is beautiful, the wine and cheese are to die for ... and GOATS! Once this is over, I'm definitely making a trip up there again. Until then, I'll be watching all their Instagram stories to get my goat fix!

Rocky S.

Yelp
Great service and great wine. Different choices of cheese and had some sparkling wine for a nice toast. Walk around the garden and enjoy the scenery. Gone are the days of free tastings. We had a party of four and it was about $60 each I guess? It's been a few months since this review and I checked on website and it didn't have a list of it. Food was samplings and good for sharing but not for lunch. Nice atmosphere and good vibes. Worth going.

Fefe A.

Yelp
Wow wow wow !!! If you are a cheese lover you must visit this farm and try their wine and cheese pairings . All of their cheese is a mix of sheep and goat's milk that is locally made . You can buy large quantities as well . They have a cute outdoor seating area ; pet friendly and Great customer service . We ended up ordering the zucchini fritter special from the bar as well , so delicious !

David C.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places of all they have the best cheeses smorgasbords and they offer the wine rating of Navarro wines. The service is great they offer charcuterie boards and fresh cheeses from their goats on property. Everything is fresh staff has great family owned business they make you feel like family when you're there. They offer tours of the property with fresh vegetable gardens they have chicken on property and other sheets and coats which they show you how they process and collect the milk and give you a tour sure how they actually processor cheese inside

Mark P.

Yelp
Wow. Wine. And cheese. Together. Good and nice wines with some amazing cheeses. Only wish we had fridge at hotel to store the cheese we wanted so bad. Did take some wine home. Will have to come back! Definitely made the trip to Boonville worthwhile. Amazing service. Great views and we even saw the goats.

Lisa A.

Yelp
I will be honest. We had high hopes. Maybe too high. Their sister winery Navarro is fantastic and I totally recommend them. Pennyroyal Farms... not so much. We had a reservation (first time there) and the two gentlemen told us to sit wherever, inside or out. It was raining, so outside was not going to work. We looked at the menu, told them what flight we were doing, they brought us the wine all at once, then totally ignored us for 30 minutes. It was like they decided when we walked in that we weren't good enough for them. Very disappointing. Some of the wine was ok. Never tried the cheese because they didn't promote it. Maybe they hoped we would just leave...

JB C.

Yelp
Such a beautiful farm! The food and wine were amazing! We will be back and next time we will do the goat tour!

Jon L.

Yelp
Very cool winery and farm located in the Boonville Valley, on the way into Mendocino. We had the wine and cheese pairing tasting and it was really enjoyable. The cheese was absolutely amazing, so much so we bought several different cheeses for the road to snack on during our trip. We didn't do the farm tour, but I understand you can tour the grounds and meet the goats and sheep; I imagine that's super fun in the spring when there are babies. Anyways, very cool winery, good wines and great cheeses.

Yelp
Went to Pennyroyal for their farm tour which included being able to pet their goats and sheep and a cheese tasting with wine pairing at the end. I loved being able to pet the cute animals! The baby goats especially were super friendly. But keep an eye on them; they started trying to chew on my coat sleeves and I was worried they'd yank a button off and swallow it. The cheese was really tasty (at least if you're a fan of goat/sheep cheeses, not everyone is). My favorite was the Velvet Sister which we purchased twice (once that day and then swung by again on our way home a couple days later to buy more). We also got Boont Corners the first day and Boonter's Blue the second. The cheese was great paired with the bread we'd gotten earlier that morning so we wound up eating them for lunch that day and the next. Also bought a bottle of their rosé wine.

Yelp
Visited this beautiful winery during Pinot Fest 2021 and we were not disappointed! The wine and cheese pairing was wonderful, and we ended up purchasing a bottle of Pinot and a bottle of champagne, along with some of their delicious Laychee cheeses! The grounds were beautiful, full of spring flowers, and our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the wines! Would definitely return to try more wines!

Yelp
This place is stunning!! The property is gorgeous and so well maintained. I love that it's a mix of animal farm and vineyard. The food and service is top notch. Quality wines and handmade cheeses brought to your table in an open field. We brought our baby and he enjoyed crawling in the grass as we enjoyed food and wine. The perfect afternoon away!

Yelp
Great rustic ambiance vibe. Sat outside in the heated patio and ordered the cheese board and wine tastings. Everything tasted amazing as we enjoyed our wine and food while looking the farm and mountains. The service was great as well as our server was super patient and helpful with explanations and recommendations. Highly recommended. We joined the wine club right away.

Yelp
Excellent wine and cheese tasting, and a good value at $25 for 5 wines paired with 7 cheeses (they threw in 2 bonus cheeses). The wine is as good as most of what you can get in Napa. But it's the cheeses that really stand out. We left with a savory and unusual wedge of Fratty Corners, which they make using pomace (grape seeds and skins left over from the winemaking process). Wish we had bought more, as it's going quickly...

Yelp
It was a cold day, but we had a wonderful time sipping wine flights, bubbles & a eating yummy bites from beautiful charcuterie board. Our server was kind & attentive.

Yelp
Perfect spot for a lunch and tasting. The estate is beautiful and they pair their wines with very well done and delicious plates. The white PinoTrio and their 2017 Pinot Noir were the highlights. They also make cheese, amazing!

Yelp
Great place for a picnic when visiting Anderson Valley. It's also a fully functioning farm and cheese factory. We have visited this place many times occasionally they have brunch or dinner functions especially during the wine festivals. We usually stop on our way in or away out of Anderson Valley. They do have a small selection of in-house wines but their specialty is their artisan cheeses. The also have a good selection of pickled vegetables and preserved fruits as well. The property is beautiful. The customer service has always been awesome in the few times we've eaten there the food has been top-notch. If you travel to Anderson Valley take the time to check them out.

Yelp
The cheeses, made from sheep and goats that live right on the farm, were among some of the best non-cow cheeses I've ever had. On a spontaneous drive to Mendocino on New Year's Day, I was delighted to discover that you can do a cheese tasting (with no wine pairing) for $10! Highlights for me were the fresh cheese with fennel pollen (no hint of goatiness here), the "vintage" Boont Corners (the perfect balance between a young and aged cheese), and the blue (which had incredibly fine blue veins and a nice bite). The other highlights were of course the gorgeous setup of the patio that overlooks the vineyard on the property as well as the excellent and attentive customer service. Because milk production from the animals varies, the blend of sheep and goat's milk varies throughout the year, as does the taste of the cheese, giving me the perfect excuse to come back for another visit!
