Probably one of the best bars in the city. Stunning, unique atmosphere and ambient. Wonderful crowd. Good location. Prices quite high and drinks not so unique or tasty. Not expertly crafted cocktails. Rather traditional classics. The big downside was service. Random, inexperienced young people. They didn't have any customer service skills or knowledge, so unless you don't know yourself what you like I wouldn't recommend. Quite shocked us when one of the waitresses spilled whole entire tray of drinks straight onto young foreign customers sitting by one of the tables next to us! What kind of service is it?

A very interesting baroque themed bar with a leaning towards the burlesque/brothel vibe. Not what you expect to stumble upon! I was there early afternoon and there were only a couple of people knocking around. I'd imagine the later the better!

Great kink bar in Lisbon. Some of the best mixed drinks I have ever had. Take the recommendations of your server. Except for the loudmouth "drama queen" from Austin, TX this was a great experience. Extra kudos to the bartenders for not tolerating unruly patrons :)

Pensão Amor is a well-known and touristy bar in Lisbon with a unique charm. It used to be a former brothel, and you can still see hints of that in the decor and atmosphere – it definitely adds to the experience! The drinks are more expensive compared to other places, but the vibe is fun and artsy, and the staff are really nice. If you have some time while in Lisbon, it’s worth checking out for the history and ambiance.

It's a cabaret bar. Superb entertainment. The atmosphere is very decadent, the service is a top notch Try Muay Thai cocktail. It's not only one of the most delicious, but the presentation is an absolutely top notch🍹

We had a very mixed experience here. Heading to Lisbon for a hen do, we had noted Pensao Amor as a place to check out and also received recommendations to go there from staff we met at other restaurants/bars in Lisbon. When we visited, there was a jazz band playing in one of the rooms and the place had very cool, cosy vibes. The cocktails we ordered were also delicious and a pleasure to watch being made by the skilled bar staff. However, as a group of 4, we sat at a table which had 3 chairs and asked the couple next to us if we could use one of the spare chairs at their table, which they were happy with. After around 5 or 10 minutes, one of the waitresses came over and said we had to put the chair back by the other table as "the chairs can't be moved" - but, we could get a stool from a row of stools that were lined up along the side of the room instead. The waitress was apologetic and said her manager had asked her to speak to us. It all just seemed a bit ridiculous when, ultimately, the spare chairs at the table next to us would remain empty as the couple weren't using them! It did sour the experience and we left soon after, when we likely would have stayed to enjoy the night if it hadn't have been for this incident. It seems they value the tables/room looking a certain way over customers feeling welcome and valued and having a good time, which will no doubt lose them more customers in the long run. A real shame as it could have been so good. We ended up having a much better time at other bars along Pink Street.

Went there because I read a review about the cocktails but not as unique or flavorful as the descriptions.

We had a great time dancing til 4 am here. Servers were good. Music was great. Yes it was pretty crowded but most of the crowd was fun. This was a brothel at some point in its past and you can tell by the decor. It has multiple floors and it's pretty spacious.

This may the best bar I've ever been to. Every floor is decorated so well... such an aesthetic place and even though it was so packed, I never felt like I was being squished. Don't remember much about the drinks because my usual is very simple but I just remember entering every new floor in awe of the great music and drastic decor.

The atmosphere of this place was great. came in late-night (late for Americans, early for Europeans!), there was a lounge area and then a dancing area. The music was nice, staff was very attentive, and the drinks were very good. I drank my first one faster than expected. If I come back to Lisbon, I would visit again and stay longer, my wife and I didn't get a chance to dance!

Loved this place. Was told they dont accept credit cards but thats not true. They only lesson learned here was to make the wait staff add our tip money into the bill, and put more pressure for that. It's unfortunate but we left, I think only leaving a standard Portuguese tip. Decor is amazing, and the drinks were done very well. I had to Spanish coffee style drinks and usually those are horrible but these guys nailed it. The patrons are also wonderful and was glad to be with them through the night.

Great cocktails and fun dance atmosphere. Lots of small fun rooms to explore. Be careful of the steep slightly slippery stairs to go up and down, I fell once lol.

Dive bars, speakeasies, and seedy places have always interested me. When my husband and I were told to explore Pink Street while in Lisbon this was right up my alley (literally and figuratively). Pink Street is an alley about a half of kilometer long with bars, restaurants, and a generally sketchiness. Drug dealers come up to you and offer marijuana, cocaine, and hashish. Tell them no and they quickly scatter along. There is police presence everywhere and never once did we feel unsafe. Pensao Amor was a former brothel turned into a bar and lounge. There are different rooms to explore with various adult themes. There's a stripper pole if you're feeling particularly adventurous or have enough liquid courage. The drinks are pricey (€11-13) and are denoted with penises for alcohol strength. It gets busy after 8pm and especially on weekends but that gives you a chance to walk through the rooms on the different levels. There are many nooks and crannies so do yourself a favor and explore before settling in with some cocktails.

Fabulous themed craft cocktails, great atmosphere, friendly service. We stopped by early in the evening and it was a lot more chill.. great to sit and talk. We also wandered around Pink Street later in the evening (11pm) on another night and things were hoppin'. Be sure to explore the upstairs and such, there are a lot of hidden alcoves and fun adult-themed decorations. Pretty sure they have live music, dance and other performances as well. 10/10 would drink here again.

Wow this bar is unique and over stimulating, be prepared. There are a couple of rooms and two bar sections. The whole place looks like an 1950s living room with brothel aesthetics. In the last room, there is a dancing pole and you will see some pole dancing which is pretty cool. Looks like the last dance is around 11 then it's just a dj playing. I had a Thomas Margarita and he had a Jameson with ginger ale. The drinks were very crafty but pricey compared to other local bars. The bathroom has a hangout area with a disco ball in the middle, don't be shocked if you find someone hooking up there. If you want to experience something different I suggest you come here! Looks like the lines can get low so I suggest getting there before 11.

A trendy bar/lounge on pink street (Rua Nova do Carvalho). This place specializes in handcrafted cocktails, with lots of creativity weaved into the place and drinks. I remember reading somewhere that it was either a brothel or burlesque bar or something of the sort way back when, and they try to maintain that image through the decor. We actually went there on our first night (Friday) which was a mistake, because we were so jet lagged that we couldn't enjoy the place as much as we wanted to. We quickly got a place to sit, and you could either have a server or go and get your own drinks which was nice (compared to the bars in NYC where if you seat yourself, you help yourself) Apart from the seating and closer to the bar, theres an open space to stand, dance and do whatever everyone else is doing. We ordered a bunch of drinks, each drink was handcrafted,beautifully and deliciously made. I suggest looking over the menu and picking what sounds the best to you. My friends asked the bartender to be creative and told them their liquor of choice - if i'm not mistaken I'm pretty sure he asked if they were okay with certain fragrances and flavors like lavender and grapefruit. My friends ordered a bunch of random drinks and they were all good. Ask them to use their lavender liquor in a special drink, because that was freaking amazing! Some drinks that sound similar to what we got: -Carmen, a exibicionista: passionfruit, jasmine syrup, lime, violet liquor -bing quing: egg white, lychee puree, ginger, lemon -guadalupe a santa: mezcal, cloves, lemon, hibiscus syrup -takes CC, has Wifi, Lively after 12

Five star for the incredible atmosphere and decor. A former brothel, the place is richly decorated in velvet and old silk chairs, and paintings everywhere in the front room, then darker, stranger, modern-ish rooms in the back, each with a unique personality. A lovely place for a drink before or after dinner. At 7:30 the place was just beginning to fill up to seating capacity, but I've heard that after midnight, when the Portuguese finally come out, it's quite a wait to get in. Three star for the actual drinks. The vinho verde was flat, seemingly an old bottle, and the cocktail list features no Portuguese gins (strange given that gin's rather big here), and the cocktail list is full of old classics, but nothing novel. Service is a tad slow, but totally fine.

If your slightly odd grandmother had a young kooky roommate and they decided to open a brothel or speakeasy to be run by skateboarders, it might look like Penaso Amor. Red velvet walls and scalloped chairs lead to a warren of rooms and cosy spots for drinking and conversation. It draws locals and tourists alike according to the intelligence from my eavesdropping. The nicely lit lounge provides both intimacy and people watching too. It is a friendly crowd on this first Friday of February, which seems helped by the T-shirt wearing young servers who speak in English as a courtesy to guests like me. A shame I did not try a cocktail, that is the focus of the joint. I opted for red wine with my cured meats. The wine was served from a bottle after I had the chance to taste it. It went well with my meats and the rouge walls and rogue mood.

The place itself is a really nice spot to stop in and have a drink after a long day of walking. We came very early and I wish the jet lag would have allowed us to stay later because I heard they have live music. The service was just ok. The servers seemed more interested in getting us in and out vs ensuring we have a nice experience. We would have definitely stayed for a few drinks but they brought our bill along with the first round and the asked us for the menus back a few minutes later.

This is a fun, eccentric like of bar. There are lots of rooms to explore. This place reminds me of old college dive bars that I used to go to in my youth. Service is pretty friendly but a little slow but that's fine, you're in Europe and things are a little more chill. Pensão Amor is great place to hang out with friends, it is a laid back lounge with a sexy and semi-seedy vibe. Don't go if you're not adventurous...

Cute cocktail bar that is very unique to anywhere else I've drank in. Staff are friendly and it almost feels like you've travelled back to the 1920's but with a hipster feel to it.

What a beautiful bar! Decor: I was completely obsessed with the decor the entire time. Just couldn't stop staring at the walls and ceilings. Excellent spot for a date night or just for a ton on insta-worthy shots. Drinks: They have three different bars! The mezcal bar upstairs has a great vibe and some quality mezcals. Pro-tip don't get the pitchers. They're small and don't taste that good compared to their other delicious cocktails.

Really cool spot in Lisbon. Old brothel, cool vibes, great service, and best. drinks. ever. I had the Carmen, and wow. We went early on, around 19:30, and it was fairly empty. Later on it got packed. So if you want a good seat, go early on.

Really cool bar with bold decor. It used to be a brothel. It has different rooms , cozy chairs and one room has still a dance pole. It's great to see and have a drink there. Personally i wouldn't stay all night

Love this place! It was recommended on an Airbnb tour and I could sit here all night. Lungs and comfortable feel, great cocktails, friendly service and I am loving the music! I'll be back again

Hands down the coolest bar I've ever been to. From the moment you walk in and are hit with all the decor and images on the wall. The great music playing. The bartenders who are absolute artists in their craft. This space used to be a brothel and they went with the theme of sex and love. They have a very well curated craft cocktail list with great names (in Portuguese) and listed as having different levels of aphrodisiac. Cool candles lit everywhere giving it even more of a brothel/speakeasy ambience. My next trip to Portugal will no doubt result in a few visits to this amazing and interesting night spot.

Delicious cocktails and great live music. Worth exploring as there are so many different rooms. Was very busy so be prepared to not get a guaranteed seat.

I love this place! Cool spot in Barrio Alto with tasty cocktails and cool decor! Not sure how regular the live bands are but we happened to stop in on a night with an amazing band. The crowd was loving it! A lot of locals were there having a good time.

Maybe the best bar in the world that I've ever been to. Amazing drinks, great vibes, and lovely view looking down to the pink street. We absolutely adored our drinks here - fresh and delicious.

What a spot!! Amazing menu with drinks! Great atmosphere! Interior design is like in a castle. Service is moving fast and is nice, helpful. Music makes this place special. There are three rooms so you can fInd a place to seat.

This place is amazing!The decor and the different rooms are something you won't forget! I've been there with other 5 friends on a Friday night and this venue deserve a 5 star review: big place, great music selection, great cocktails and nice and friendly staff made our stay perfect and funny (there is also a pole dance if you want to show your dancing skills to the people sitting on the tables around you). There's a small sexy shop with some interesting lingerie and other "props" (the shop is opened all night), same deal for the cosy library next to the main entrance where you can sit down and read a book about sex. Will definitely go back to Pensao Amor if I will go to Lisbon again...which will probably happen soon. PS: a big thank you goes to the amazing DJ that made us dancing all night, she's the example that you can have 67 years old and still be able to do your job better than young ones!Thanks,whoever you are!

The place has a really nice ambience but! Apparently there's difficulty with their credit card machines during certain nights and times and that was frustrating when it was time to pay the bill. Bring euros! When going to this spot.

Funky spot with great cocktails! We stayed in the hotel across the street so naturally we decided to check this place out. It combines the hip feel of Lisbon with some great and unique cocktails. Oh, and they have live music! Definitely a spot to check out if you're in the mood for cocktails and funky decor.

What a cool spot. Filled with unique and kitschy decor and very much a throw back to the early 20th century brothel type establishment. It was a little bizarre to see children in there (we went in the middle of the day). This is a cocktail lounge and there is decor alluding to its dubious past. Definitely a must visit if you are in the area.

I went here in the afternoon to check it out and have a drink and by chance came back that night as we were having dinner around the corner. I brought 24 friends and we had a blast. Drinks were double to 5 times more expensive than other places in Lisbon so be warned it is not a cheap or good value venue. It is fun to look at and very different. All rooms are different and we took over my least favourite room because there were so many of us. At night there is a sex toy shop and you can shop to your hearts content if you need. Even the toilets are fun. The mens Im told stink. The ladies are fine. Id definitely go back even though it cost me a fortune.

Nice spot if you're looking for a bar at Lisbon. Cool decoration, fair prices. Got there around 10pm and found a place to sit (it's first come first serve). Left around 12:30 and the line at the door was huge! It was a Friday night. Def recommend it as I didn't find cool places open late in Lisbon

Absolutely great location! Had so much fun with hot oldschool club tunes from myosotis project!

We chose this place for our last night in Lisbon and it was definitely the right choice. When we go there at 9 it wasn't that crowed but the later it got, the more people came in. We got in touch with other travelers and later there was a cello concert which was really good!! (He recorded himself several time and covered some famous songs) And of course the ambiance is worth seeing it. Such a funny idea and the different rooms are making it even more comfy. Especially a walk to the restroom is an adventure. They had an early night rate before 10pm which was pretty good but after 10 it got pricy. The bartender is fun to talk to and he's good at giving you advice for drinks :)

What a funny, very unique bar experience. If you've ever wondered what the inside of an old brothel looked like....voila! The bar area is rightfully packed and hard to dance nearest the DJ on stage but bartenders were patient saints rolling out drinks with surprising speed. Good to catch some air on the back terrace or otherwise score a seat on the tufted chaises inside. There are a few secluded rooms and stalls on the third floor, but we didn't have a chance to explore what might be happening there. A must-go along Pink Street if you are bar-hopping but probably wouldn't commit to spending a whole night here.

Such a fun bar with a cool crowd and a variety of cocktails to suit all tastes. We found this bar via yelp and we were not disappointed. The setting is really retro and cool with it's brothel theme. The singers also were a real touch and added to the ambiance a highlight!

Such a fantastic place to go!! We stumbled upon this place via Yelp! It was fantastic. Great wine and great drinks. We ended up going two nights in a row. Night one was wine and making fantastic Canadian friends, night two was gin and tonics and watching burlesque. We were at burlesque on a Wednesday night, not sure if that's an every week thing, but it was a fun change of pace. Get their earlier in the night if you are keen on having a seat. The decor is really fun and so varied. The ceiling is the Sistine chapel. And the walls are covered in old art and books. Truly a great bar!!

Great refreshing drinks and very good ambience. But the best part was the service, we were a little hungry after our drinks and Alex and Gonzalo helped us pick some very good food spots. Highly recommend this place

My favorite bar in this beautiful city! The atmosphere is cozy yet very elegant with great live music and the drinks are awesome - made to your personal taste. It's in a very cute area of the city and the people are lovely. We went back two nights in a row and would have gone for another but had to carry on our travels.
