Pensión Arbidel

Despite the good overall outside structure the rooms was a big disappointment - cold, humid, smelly. No extractor fan in windowless bathroom. Owner did not want to turn on heating and kept arguing about temperature. Outside it was 16 degrees and they argued inside it was 22 degrees when we were freezing cold. They tried to cut corners and did not care about guests. Their cafe charges a very high price for tasteless local dish. It’s impossible to imagine that a dish with chorizo would have no taste at all, yet they managed that: turning chorizo into an inedible rag. |The two of us sat down and they brought one set of fork/ knife and charged us two covers. Do not eat anything there. Very unpleasant hotel staff and owner.

A lovely little hotel in Ribadesella, charmingly perched on several levels. My room was on the top floor, like an attic, but I never suffered from the heat and I spent very little time in the house. The windows were skylights, so they had to be closed in case of rain. Everything was very nice and clean, with cleaning once a day. The owners have a restaurant on the street level for meals and breakfast, which also serves as the reception. Be prepared for a lot of steep stairs to get to your room. The walls may be a bit thin, so you can hear the neighbors talking. Overall, very good considering the price!!! Ribadesella is very nice!

Very nice room in a beautiful town! The room was perfect for our one night stay while walking the Camino Del Norte. Very clean, good location and comfortable beds.

The lack of facilities (no heating when it is cold, no extractor fan in the windowless bathroom, the musty smell and high humidity) makes it a bad stay. The towels are very thin, hardly absorb water. The careless and nasty attitude of the property owner and manager made it much worse. Stay away from the Pension Arbidel if you don't want to freeze and sleep in a cold, smelly room.

Lovely and charming guesthouse in the center of Ribadesella. Super friendly and courteous staff and great service, the breakfast was also great;)

We stayed late April 2025 on the Camino. Really friendly reception. Two of us reserved single rooms, we got a single and a twin. Single was tiny, twin much larger. Immaculately clean, everything new and in perfect order, can't recommend it highly enough.

Don’t let the name “pension” throw you off. The rooms are cozy, comfortable and clean, the bathrooms spacious and also very clean. Heating is perfect for winter days. In reading other reviews, I wonder if there are major differences between rooms, but in our case, we rented two that were just perfect. The restaurant below was closed so we can’t comment on the noise or smell, but I suggest you ask before booking if you are sensitive to that.

The pictures are very misleading. The rooms are professional photographed with lots of artificial lighting, but in reality they are very stuffy and dark. The blankets are very used and thin. Rooms 1-4 are directly on the streets or in the welcoming area, so it’s always loud. The bathrooms you see on the pictures on booking and etc. are not the ones you get, rooms 1-4 have small smelly bathrooms with no real door.
