Tahitian Adventure||If you are traveling to see a tropical island, Tahiti is no better place to experience such beauty and tranquility. There are many things to do if you enjoy the outdoors; Surfing, paddle boarding, hiking, boating, swimming, beach walking, sailing, even river swimming in a hidden lagoon with a waterfall! There is a city life in Papeete that comes alive at night with local vendors and music to match the island vibe. Jewelry, Pearl vendors and island wear are all in the main shopping places. Here is where you can find oils, gifts and many local style foods. There are many black sand beaches to soak in the sun and mingle with others. The water is very warm for even the winter time. If the Main city is to alive you can get away to the hidden part of the island. Not far away is a hidden paradise away from the main-land at the end of the road. Once you get to the end of the road the only way to travel is by boat. Pension Bonjouir is paradise, away from the main city and roads. This bed and breakfast brings the heart of the Tahitian world right to your room. I highly recommend this place to travel to while you are in Tahiti. It is still on the main land and only a single boating ride to your new home. It is close considering the other islands you must fly to see them.|| I stayed here for a few days and had the time of my life. I have never seen such beauty and received such local hospitality. I was greeted and right away shown to my room, it decorated with local flowers from the garden on premise. Tropical flowers decorated the entire premise. I got to see local Tahitians fish for dinner by spearfishing in a kayak, and had a local tropical dinner that was fresh. I got to eat smelt fish fried in a fritter beer battered, fresh cut sashimi tuna, fried rice, vegetarian couscous and even local coffee and French wine! Everything was handmade with love and recipes from the heart. It was the healthiest food from the earth and the garden on premise. I was open minded to such food and happy I experienced such goodness. I learned so much about Tahitian nutrition and eating off the land locally.||This place has best of both worlds, the ocean and the jungle. I got to swim and go boating to see the huge surfing waves of Teahupoo, one day. The next day was filled with a day jungle hike back into the heart of the island...no not the concrete jungle many city slickers are used to but the wild jungle of Tahiti. Where there is no gray concrete covering the lush earth only the wild plants and bamboo growing along side the fresh water river. Good to know no dangerous spiders, or deadly snakes, just a lot of hills and mud from the moisture in the air. I have never seen so many shades of green before in my life! I even got to see vanilla grow in the wild. The hike is long and very challenging but so worth it to be able to see the waterfall and hidden lagoon. Right when you think it is too far voila! you are there and inside the hidden lagoon with the waterfall. Epic experience, one must travel here to see such beauty to truly see and have your body feel this energy. Once you are at the hidden lagoon you can swim in the water and go underneath the waterfall for a spa like experience, with fresh streaming water. The hike back is easier now that one knows the way. Close to the way back there is also another lagoon to swim and enjoy the sun through the trees. This is truly a humbling experience if you are from a major city. It allows you to feel and enjoy nature at its finest. As well as feel the love from the Tahitian Locals. Lodge Pension Bonjouir is a very highly recommended Bed and Breakfast! The best local Tahitian place without the city feel. I will come back again for sure! Much love! Thank-you! Merci!
