The room was big enough, clean and had a nice balcony. We liked the old style of the place. Special thanks to Damaris the housekeeper, who was so kind to give us many good recommendations, gave us local tips and made us feel at home! Room was quite high in price though, while there were not many cheaper options around. I would recommend this hotel for sure.

Stayed 2 nights in a single room. Great location , walkable, specially if you take a bus or train to visit near by city. Room is clean. Just few things I didn’t like are there is no refrigerator in a room or common area neither, and the bathroom is really small-not suitable for a tall man.

Google
580 euro to spend three nights in a prison cell!! The website shows generous rooms, with large windows and leafy outlooks. Our room was both tiny and had a single tiny window into a tiny lightwell, offering barely any natural light, and with the ceiling rooms lights so bright we couldn't have them on, so we sat in the half gloom by which you could not even read! We contacted the management, by email there is no reception and entry is by digital passcode, (so no advice available, no helpful leaflets), their reply was more or less, "tough luck"! Take care if you book here that you know exactly which room you will get!!!

Truly grim room, as my wife summarised "we spent 580 euro to spend three nights in a prison cell"! The internal room had a tiny window and was so dark it was impossible to even read a book!! Their website shows generous room, with either leafy outlooks or large light windows, this room was nothing like any of the pictures. We contacted the management (there is no onsite reception, you let yourself in with digital entry pads x3!, no personal touch, no helpful advice no useful leaflets!).Management response was more or less "tough luck", don't stay here without very careful selction of the room!!!

We reserved a room with a balcony in this small but functional pension which is very well located. The room was quite small, but was perfectly adequate for one night. The downside is that you can hear conversations in the next room, and also anyone who comes in late. We were woken at 3am by people coming into their room - not much respect for other guests which was a shame.||That said however, the pension is very central, in easy walking distance to the old town, beach etc. The communication before our arrival was very quick and helpful and I would recommend this pension for a short stay in San Sebastian.

When we booked, we took them at their word the interior rooms face a courtyard— but it is actually a small air shaft. In Room 4, there was only one narrow window, which let in very little light and so the room felt like an anonymous cell. They were not able to change our room.||The pluses: the room is very dark, if you like to take an afternoon siesta. There is very little street noise, but the walls are thin enough to hear conversations in adjoining rooms. ||The rooms are clean and refurbished, and very well located. The exterior facing rooms have lovely light and balconies, but a lot of street noise.

Recently this Pension has had a major refurbishment. The bathroom was spotless and of a high standard including a good powered hair dryer. The bedroom was small (but all city centre rooms are) spotlessly clean, with a TV, heating, and special double glazing to stop the street noise.||There was also a room where you could drink tea and coffee with compliments of the hosts.||Totally recommend this friendly pension, great location, clean, secure and discounted city centre parking. ||The owners have made a great effort to improve this pension. new bathrooms and double glazing.||I've seen reviews about the internal and external rooms - it's obvious when booking, don't be put off, if you want a cheaper room book an internal room, but for not much more an external room has a little balcony.||Don't get me wrong it's not luxurious, but clean, good quality bedding, hairdryer, soft closing toilet seat and strong shower with soap, safe and secure and great location.||I'd stay here again if in San Sebastian- thank you we had a lovely time

Yelp
We ended up here because our room across the street at Pensino Urumea was only available for one night and we wanted two. Pension Donostiarra is a very adequate hotel. The room was clean and large enough, the view from the balcony was great and the location was excellent. While not as spit and polish as Urumea we enjoyed our stay at Donostiarra. Donostiarra offers a common room with hot pot with tea selection, several tables and chairs and a tv. This is great for groups to get together outside their rooms. We felt the value received was well worth staying here. We will be back.

Yelp
I had a really wonderful time at Pensión Donostiarra this past week. The staff were incredibly helpful, and forgiving when I accidentally rang the doorbell too many times :O. The room had many more amenities than I expected: full bathroom, a/c, tv, large closet, extra chairs. It was clean, stayed cool despite the heat wave, and quiet. It was just a few blocks from the beach, as well as the touristy parts of the town. This Pension was definitely a great value and will stay here again when I return.

Yelp
Great, clean place near everything (beach and restaurants/bars). in San Sebastian. It was reasonably priced and I felt safe, though I felt safe in the city. I'd stay here again.
