My main positive note about this place is that the breakfast was pretty good, though you do have to pay for it. There is a nice area beneath a trellis outside the entrance with tables, where you can have a drink. The shower had hot water, but the jet was no more than a trickle, and there was no seat on the toilet. No soap was provided. The shower basin leaked so that the bathroom floor filled with water that didn't drain properly, and we were standing in a puddle every time we used the toilet. The room was just about clean. The mattresses and pillows were hard. The double bed is just two singles pushed together with a gap down the middle. Overall, I wouldn't stay at this place if you're looking for somewhere comfortable, but if you want somewhere cheap and basic for backpacking, it'll do!

Clean, good location. Wifi does not reach the rooms which is inconvenient and should be addressed so four stars for that. Rose was very helpful. She spent almost an hour helping me set up my sim card and load it. She also refused a tip saying it is her duty. She is a wonderful host. The price for the room is a little high in my opinion but still fair.

An oasis of tranquillity in a busy area. Very simple but clean rooms at affordable prices, with very pleasant staff. Food is available at affordable prices. A lovely breezy terrace. Currently the front desk and kitchen is out of operation from 7pm, but check in possible by arrangement. This is out favourite place to stay in Manila.

I have been staying in this Pension house for 15 years. They are clean and safe and very accommodating. They have a restaurant that offers short order items available around the clock. This is perfect for late night arrivals or early morning departures. Their green salad and mixed fruit is wonderful and they serve homemade whole wheat bread for an extra charge that makes all their sandwiches amazing. They have three types of rooms, dorm, private fan and private air conditioned rooms. They are currently updating all of their bathrooms and most have been finished already. They also offer luggage storage and lockers. If traffic noise bothers you, I recommend asking for a room in the back building. They only have stairs so if you have a lot of baggage it can also be helpful to ask for a ground floor room. All around a great place to stay!

Its has beautiful grounds with cozy comfortable rooms with a genuine flare. The whole operation is seamless: it is clean and the food is great. Two major components of Pension Natividad that make it the absolute best are the staff and the common spaces. The staff are warm, interested, and helpful. On my many stays here I have grown so close with the staff I feel they are like friend or family. The common spaces are fun and have an awesome retro art deco! There are so many spots to eat, drink and talk with the many travelers coming through!||||Added bonuses are the fast wifi, hot high pressured showers, and being able to use the kitchen and refrigerator. ||||I love my stays at Pension Natividad! It is Manila to me!

We stayed there for about one week in mid March 2017. The place is in a lovely art deco building. We stayed on the fourth floor in the back of the building, with two single beds, a fan, and a private bathroom. Room was large and clean. As expected, it gets hot in Manila in March (40 degrees), and being an art deco building, the rooms naturally get hot. We had a fan, which was actually quite efficient. The room itself and the beds were comfy and nice. The staff were always friendly and nice to deal with. They have an on-board cafe, which serves meals 24 hours, and they have little snacks around the lobby for purchase (cookies, noddles, etc). The cost of the food was quite decent! My favourite was the Club Sandwich with Cheese - highly recommended! There was a security guard at the front at all times. There was a homeless family living across the street (which we fed on our last night - lovely family!). The area has a lot of homelessness and street kids, so it can be tough for the first time visitor to such a country. However I didn't feel unsafe, as there were many hotels and banks in the area surrounded by security guards. Highly recommend this place! There is a lot of street noise and hens at all hours of the night.

Good location, beautiful wooden building although a bit old but very charming, nice, helpful staff. They called Grab for us after we waited for Uber too long and the driver cancelled the trip at the end. Security 24/7, feels safe. Very close to Mabini street where you can change money at very good rates. Walking distance to the park and the old city, but also close to the airport by taxi. There is a nice coffee shop when you turn right on the Quintos st. towards Mabini.

The place is clean and staff are accomodating. Products being displayed in the fridge, already have their corresponding prices which is very helpful. There are also newspapers displayed in the lobby. For those who are staying in their dormitory, lockers are provided near the lobby. You only have to bring your own locks. They don't provide towels but you can rent them for P100.00 only. You can also eat in their cafeteria even if you won't order any menu from them. They even provide hot water for free, upon your request. My stay in Natividad was really relaxing. Aside from being affordable, it's also worth staying for.

Yelp
It's pretty tricky to find a hotel/hostel/pension house that offers good value for your money. If you go too cheap, you often get what you pay for, but you also don't want to pay an arm and a leg for a room either. Finding a hotel that strokes the fine line between these two divides is challenging. That's why I was so happy when I tried out Pension Natividad in Malate last weekend. While I heard good things about it, I was only able to appreciate it when I first stepped in. The place has an old-world energy to it, it was clean and pleasant, and they had the most wonderful covered canopy where I would see guests hang out all day. Considering that Malate is as noisy as they get, Pension Natividad was wonderfully quiet and serene. I can imagine myself hanging out there all day, finishing a book or writing one. Pension Natividad has a quaint cafe that serves a decent breakfast and some sandwiches. There used to be a pizzeria in here, but it has been closed down. That's a shame, as this would be a lovely place to have a pizza in. I do hope they bring it back. The rooms are spartan and simple, and devoid of amenities. Then again, this is a Pension House, not a Hotel, and as such I was not looking for these amenities anyway. I stayed in their most expensive room, (Single room aircon), which cost P1,500. There are fan rooms and dorm types, for those who want to save a bit more money. The front desk people were as pleasant as possible, and they did have a nice selection of supplies and food you could buy from them directly, at non-inflated prices. Their location is also ideal if you want to jump into the thick of things at Malate, or if you want to go to Manila's attractions. The baywalk is a short walk away, Intramuros and Luneta are pretty close by, and between all that, there are places waiting to be discovered in the streets and side streets. I finally found my Malate home, and it is Pension Natividad.

Yelp
My family and I stumbled upon Pension Natividad after the Pork Barrel rally in Luneta Park. We were starving, since we'd been stumbling around Manila looking for wherever we had parked the car & by some fortunate chance of fate, we came across this lovely establishment. I'm not sure how the rooms are since we didn't stay there for the night (the place did seem very clean, and it gave off an old-world kind of atmosphere), but the restaurant at the ground floor was spectacular. It had a very homey vibe, red checkered tablecloth over small wooden tables and sunlight streaming through the large windows. The food was amazing, absolutely amazing, and at a decent price too! They serve a sort of noveau pizza, on a thin crust with a fistful of ricotta splattered onto the middle. It was heavenly. And only around P250. The coffee was great too - P30 for a huge, piping hot mug. They also have sandwiches and rice meals on the menu (although I don't know why you'd want to eat those when you can have their amazing pizza), and there's a fridge full of drinks and jars of pastries you can get from. I'm also a huge sucker for nice staff members, and the staff was so chirpy and polite, it was wonderful. When you visit I suggest you sit outside on the wrought-iron tables, the breeze from Manila bay passes through the vines hanging from the trees and everything is quiet save for the occasional car passing through the street. A beautiful place to have a quiet lunch with friends or family.
