Extremely loud. Hot. Uncomfortable.
The hotel room was extremely loud and noisy with the busy street outside of the window. It was like trying to sleep in the middle of the street. So then you close the window to reduce 30% of the noise, and it is extremely hot. There is no AC or even a small fan. To add to this the beds were uncomfortable, the sheets were low quality and trapped sweat and the pillows were old and hardened.
The walls are paper thin so you can hear your neighbours so much as huff a breath too loud. Every movement. Every noise.
The bathroom was also so poorly designed the floors would easily flood without proper drainage outside of the showers, and was constantly damp.
As a result we slept so badly, used to sleeping 7-8 hours and only managed to sleep 5 & 2 hours respectively. It was the worst sleep I've had in a hotel for as long as I can remember.
The check in experience wasn't great as you have to check in at a different hotel 3 blocks away - so this one is unstaffed. There is no service except for cleaning.
At night there are drunk groups of people every night shouting for hours outside of your window, and inside the hotel across multiple floors. There are no staff to manage drunk guests. We stayed on Wednesday and Thursday so can't begin to imagine what it would be like on weekends.
We also specifically ordered a double bed but they said this was sold out when we checked in, and were given a twin. If they didn't have any double beds left they should not falsely advertise for them.
The only star is for location as it is conveniently located just outside of the old town.
