I feel disappointed at writing this review, but feel I have been left with no option but to do so as I wouldn’t not want anyone else to be on the receiving end off the appalling behaviour that we did whilst at Pension Otto.||I had booked Pension Otto for our family trip to the Euro’s and went on a recommendation found initially in the Lonely Planet Germany any then by checking reviews on TripAdvisor. ||I had email communication with Pension Otto before arriving, who kindly advised on the correct way to reach the accommodation from the train station. I knew that our rooms would not be ready but had asked if it was possible that we could leave our bags as we would be arriving on the Eurostar from Paris just after 11 which was about 20 mins late. We were advised that that would be no problem but if they were not around then they would leave a key in safety deposit box. When we arrived at 11.30 we could not get into the property, no key was left and no one answered the bell. We called the number on the bell, to be spoken to very rudely and then hung up on. We called back and the person who answered was extremely rude and basically said they had waited until 11 and then left so we would have to wait until 2pm to enter the property, this despite letting them know we would arrive after 11 am.||We went to a nearby cafe and waited until 2 pm and returned. When we entered the property we met the owner who I had assumed was the same person on the phone but now think on hindsight it was a member of staff. The owner was lovely, could not have been more friendly and accommodating and asked us to make ourselves at home. We had a 2 night stay, the rooms are very spacious, there are no en-suites but we knew that when we booked it and as the property only has 5 rooms this isn’t really an issue. We didn’t have much interaction with anyone there during our stay but came to realise that there was another older guy there maybe a staff member or possibly co-owner, I’m not quite sure, but who was quite unfriendly and definitely the person that took our call on arrival.||The day before leaving we asked what time checkout was and if it was possible to leave our bags as our train that day didn’t leave until almost 7pm. Both the owner older guy were there, the owner advised that he didn’t have another key but that he would sort something out, even if it meant keeping one of the room keys.||Despite this agreement, the following day when checking out and arranging to leave our bags the older guy was really unhelpful saying that we would need to be back by 3 and that no we couldn’t a key to come back as there was no key. So to this end we waited for the owner to return who then let us leave with a key. Also during this time I was completing payment for our stay. The older guy said make sure they pay now as they are going back to Paris and so then they will have no money left, which I thought was a bit weird, his behaviour was appalling and he practically took a huff because the owner went against what he had told us. I couldn’t understand what he was saying as they were speaking German but he was implying, you deal with them, I’m done. The owner was completely the opposite again very trusting and friendly. We thanked him and said we would return for our bags about 5.30 pm, no problem he said, whenever suits you.||We returned to the property as we said and took our bags and my daughter and I quickly used the toilet. I was just coming out the bathroom when I heard the older guy shouting aggressively at someone “thank you very much, now I have to clean the toilets all over again and I have just finished cleaning them” . He was shouting this at my husband, who asked what the problem was. He replied “my problem is that you were supposed to be here between 5 & 5.30pm and now it is after and I told you we were having new guests and now I have to clean these (shared) toilets again” He then asked if my husband wanted a physical fight, twice, in front of my daughters, he then proceeded to push my 17 year old daughter out of the property. This man should not be involved in any kind of hospitality, his manner is unfriendly, aggressive and completely unacceptable. ||The owner is so lovely, friendly, hospitable and kind I honestly can’t say that enough and would recommend the property on that basis but our experience with the other guy has left me so upset and disappointed I would never recommend or return.||I honestly cannot believe that we experienced that and feel bad for the owner, I have travelled a LOT and never EVER witnessed this kind of behaviour.
