Man at desk was nice. Other than that, area was horrible, room was horrible and the rest of the hotel was too. Definitely the mankiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Can’t quite believe I paid money to sleep there. If you have a tent, I recommend a camp site.

The location was nice, only a few meters from the bus station and very close to the port. The main square was also very close. The room was clean and spacious and the ceiling fan worked well. The guy who checked us in wasn't very nice, but the lady who was at the reception when we left was very nice. The bathroom was very small, with a poor plastic door. The toilet had no separation from the shower, and got all wet. The wifi didn't work, but we didn't complain because we didn't stay long.

The staff were uniformly friendly and really welcoming here. One of the night guys always chatted with me and on my second night told me his name and asked for mine. It helps that I speak Spanish as the staff have very little flair in other languages.|||| I liked the location which is so convenient for the port and the bus and train stations. I was travelling to La Linea and Gibraltar a lot so it was fantastic to have the bus station just over and up the road. The area is one of lovely old traditional houses with many immigrants, which I also love. It's full of Moroccan bakeries and delis as well as souvenir shops. I was buying the bstilla every day! The other Moroccan sweetmeats in the bakeries locally were also great. The market is nearby as are loads of Spanish shops for food and goods. I took a load of Spanish food back to Morocco with me from shops in the area of the hotel. There are also nice restaurants within walking distance, both ethnic and Spanish.||||Some people moaned about good-time girls in the area. Well, they don't worry me a bit. They just stand there minding their own business. None tried to approach me.||||Some nights were cold as this was January, but the room heater was more than adequate. The bedding kept me warm. The room was of adequate size for one person.||||The WiFi worked well and at high speeds throughout my stay. The TV was fine with many channels although the majority was in Spanish. ||||I liked the wetroom-style bathroom, especially as I prefer to shower sitting down. ||I had a nice time there for 4 nights. I would stay again.||||Cleaning was done daily and the room was left immaculate with the bed made properly and fresh towels supplied.||||I can't really think of anything negative to say about this hotel. At £17 a night, I wouldn't expect more, the room size was adequate, the furnishings were fine, the staff were friendly. I would definitely stay again.

My wife and I recently visited the Algeciras / Gibraltar region, and we specifically chose to stay at this location because of its proximity to the bus station, the train station and the port. We entered Algeciras by bus and walked to the property. If you follow the directions you get upon booking your stay, you will get there just fine. In addition, the train station is directly across the street from the bus station. From Algeciras, we took a ferry to Morocco, and the port is also within walking distance from the property. ||||So, the location and the price were both favorable. The property is old, but fairly well maintained. Throughout our travels, we take our own sheets and pillows, and I recommend doing that as a general practice when traveling. While at the property, we needed some clothes laundered, so we asked one of the owners if they offered this service. She told us to leave the clothes, and that she would ask her cleaning lady to take care of it for us. Upon our return from exploring Gibraltar, we were surprised to receive all of our laundry clean, neatly folded and ready for us at the front desk. What the location lacked in modern amities, the staff and owners made up for in caring for their customers. ||||It’s important to note that this is not a hostel, like you might be used to. It is a “pension”, which is more like a hotel than a hostel.

The place is cheap (they even sell small cans of beer for a euro) and the en suite showers work well. My first night my double room had comfortable beds but I returned a few days later I was in the twin next door and the beds were quite hard. The internet is frustrating as it often cuts out in the rooms and regularly makes you reenter the password rather than let you save it on your device. Sometimes I takes twenty minutes of trying to log in, even when standing next to the router. The location is a very short walk to the ferry, station and bus stop for Gibraltar/La Linea ans there's plenty of small cafes around. The staff are friendly and helpful but only one speaks any English at all and she's quite low level. Ive stayed here two nights and there's been loud talking late at night both times which may be coming from the lobby or other rooms. Overall, fairly cheap with a lot of pros but it's rough and ready. Don't stay forore than a day or two.

One of the worst places we’ve ever stayed in. No smoking room complete with ashtrays and stale smoke smell lingering through the room even after airing it out. Rubbish wifi, dirty bathroom, heater didn’t work. Filthy towels and sheets. A clump of hair still in the shower. Not even cheap. Not worth more than 5 euros.

Friendly staff. Very basic facilities at a very basic price. I arrived on a late train at 21:30 and left for a morning train at 09:30. Perfectly acceptable option if only staying for one night on a budget.

Location was perfect for us because it was only a few minutes walk from our ferry from Morocco and a few minutes walk to the bus station for our bus to Seville. The hotel staff was friendly, our room had all that we needed and was comfortable enough for our 2 night stay. The WiFi was good enough for emails and web searching.
