One of the best menu del dia we have tried :) and the service is fast.
We love the wine jar too! The cozy restaurant is very heartwarming tambien.
We just found out they have rooms upstairs. We will check it out next time since the location is also great!

10 euros for three courses bread and drinks. Fresh home cooked food. Good sized portions with four or five options available. The restaurant was busy but we were welcomed and well looked after even though staff were struggling with the tight time scales involved with lunchtime trade. Good value menu del dia with an option for everyone.

This small hotel is a budget recommendation in the 8th edition of Lonely Planet's "Spain" guidebook. I paid 25 euros per night.||This is an older property with no elevator. The rooms were large, and there is wifi .The property is within walking distance (a fairly vigorous uphill climb) of the hanging houses and the old city. This is a family owned business with a popular restaurant on the first floor and hotel property on the floors above. Everyone was very nice.||For the quality of the accommodation, I thought the price was high. However, Cuenca is a small and popular tourist city with few hotels. As such, hotel prices are generally high. Most hotels in Cuenca cost at least 50 euros per night. This is about the cheapest you are going to find with private bathroom. I looked at the Spanish website quehoteles.com and saw one advertised hotel for 31 euros. Everything else cost considerably more.||Travel tip: If you are are tourist, don't come to Cuenca on a Monday (as I did). Nearly all the museums and many of the restaurants are closed.

There's not so much to say about Posada de San Julian, it is what it is: fair value for little money. You'll find San Julian right on the border of the old and new town. To reach the old city center, it's a 15 minutes walk, pretty uphill (with stairs). The owner is friendly and helpful, I don't have the impression he speaks a lot of English (didn't ask or try). Rooms feel quite old and dated, but they are clean and ours was rather big. Some of them have private bathrooms, others don't and you'll have to use the shared bathrooms on the hallway. Keep in mind that rooms beside the shared bathrooms can suffer from the noise (the water pipes felt quite "present"). So, if your primary goal is a decent nononsense bed for not too much money, and you don't mind the walk, Posada de San Julian is a good option. There's a restaurant included too, but we didn't try it. Free WiFi was available on the ground- and first floor.

we stayed one night in the posada in a room with a shared bathroom. everything is simple, but clean and comfortable. a nice old building, very well located, room quiet. the owner was very friendly (we forgot something in the room and they sent it to us per mail). the restaurant seems very popular.

I've felt very welcomed during my staying in the " Posada San Julian" . Both the owner, and the staff had a very hospitable attitude. The typical Spanish food was amazing and the price accessible.I recommend with confidence this hostel!

This was fabulous food. Home cooked and delicious. Be there from 1pm inwards menu del dio is €10 per person. E.g. a fab home made soup. Big chunks of fab bread. or paella for starters or other choices. Mains was fish or estefado de ternero ( a gulasch type of dish) slow cooked juicy chunks of beef in a rich sauce with a few chips. A jug of wine white or red was enjoyable. Ice cream, cream caramel or fresh fruit for desert. I cannot fault this place.would be a perfect setting for a wedding. Oldie world pillars and terracotta jugs. Fabulous. When we come back to Cuenca we will Definately return here. And even stay this time in pension.
Thankyou for spoiling us it was like coming home to mother
