We didn’t stay at the pension but had breakfast there (Menemen - that was undercooked with the cheapest bread - for 250 tl - like in Izmir) and took a boat trip which cost 200tl/person with around 25-30 ppl on the boat (while a private boat is 2000tl) and that wasn’t a trip coz we only went to one place, a monastery to which you can actually walk on foot with not a single shade where the capitán left us for 1 hr. It was hot, unpleasant and definitely was not worth even 200 tl.

We spent two nights at Salinas Pension on our way from Bodrum Airport to kusadasi, hoping to soak in a different side of Turkish tourism—something quieter, more soulful, and free from the high-rise bustle. This place delivered in every way. Nestled in a stunning setting, it felt like a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. The warmth of the hospitality was unforgettable, and the breakfasts each morning were a real highlight. Just a short stroll—no more than 150 yards—led us to a peaceful beach where we swam in the warm waters under the morning sun. A magical detour that left us wishing we had stayed longer.

Super friendly owners / staff. Bungalow would do well with a face lift and a pair of chairs on the porch. Dinner was good, but, it's the second most expensive dinner I've had in Turkey and it was not the second best dinner I've had... My experience, nice but a bit overprices.

Our family loves Selenes b&b! It's like staying at home, thanks to care of Tamer and his family. The rooms have everything one needs. The views on the lake are amazing. Breakfasts are lavish, home-style cooked, and the produce is always fresh and delicious. We are trying to visit Selenes each time we come to Turkey

Sadly in response to the country's inflation some establishments sink whilst others up their game. I was sorely disappointed at every level. We had a last minute visit to the area and stayed one night. The famous turkish hospitality was amiss. The rooms are average - ours had sweaty smelly pillows and the ac made such a racket it was best not to switch it on. Food was very average but with Istanbul prices. Suffice to say I wouldn't choose to stay here again and I wouldn't recommend it to my friends.

Here we are again: Selenes Pansyion on Lake Bafa where time passes too quickly as always. Scenery fabulous. Wildlife wonderful. Cuisine marvellous, çok lezzetli. Every night a different meal and every meal superb. You just have to come.

i stayed there for 4 nights in september, the room had a clean bathroom and air conditioning, i paid for the half pansiyon, breakfasts were great, they served eggs, olives, cheese, tomatoes and cucumbers also fresh fruits and dryed fruits, home made jams an butter, plus unlimited amount of tea and coffee, i shouldn't forget about the home made pastries :), dinners were wonderful too, i had mainly fresh fish from the Bafa Lake as main course and fresh salad to go with it and as starter they served tasty alive oil traditional mezes which was perfect for me! but, if you dont like fish, they are happy to serve you other dishes from the menu which can be chicken, lamb or beef! if you are a vegetarian, i am sure you will be happy enough with those olive oil dishes. the food is cooked and served by the lady that works for the pansiyon, the place is owned by 2 brothers that were born there, the younger brother who is also a captain lives there with his wife and 2 cute sons, both of the brothers are usually there and very helpful, they can speak english and they can give you information about the history of the place and about the walking tours you can do there, the place is only 50 meters a way from the Bafa Lake and if you want to have a tour on the lake, they arrange it for you! i also have to mention about the wonderful lake view of the place which made those meals even more delicious for me! they do serve alcoholic beverages too, i enjoyed drinking the West Anatolian wine. i enjoyed my stay very much and i look forward to my next visit! thank you all so much for making my stay beautiful.

We loved Selene's Pension but could see that it would probably not be for everyone. The location is on the further side of Lake Bafa and overlooks the lake. There is a small and not very appealing beach just below it, with a few fishing boats pulled up on the shingle, but we were conscious of being not in a touristy area and would not have felt very comfortable stripping off and swimming there. ||||The pension itself has obviously grown organically and been added to over the years, so that it forms a not very cohesive whole of wood cabins and small buildings going up the hill behind the main building. We stayed in two rooms next to the restaurant and overlooking the lake and found them clean, but not luxurious with mismatched furniture and a not very comfortable bed. One of them had a nice balcony of a reasonable size. The garden around the buildings is lovely and well tended and there are a selection of nice areas to sit out either in the shade or the sun, as well as a small plunge type pool. Whilst we were there we had the Pension nearly to ourselves and were very happy just relaxing in the garden, going for walks and enjoying the very good home made food. The restaurant has wonderful views down the lake and of the nearby village and ruins of Heraklia, as well as of all the local cows being driven home in the late morning by the women of the village, and the comings and goings of tractors on their business. The windows of the restaurant can all be opened to catch the breeze. The family that runs the Pension were friendly, helpful and welcoming. ||||If you don't like the sounds of the countryside, then you will not appreciate the sounds of goats, donkeys, cows, chickens and dogs, which were intermittently audible throughout our stay. This is country Turkey and not a sophisticated place to stay, but it gives you a taste of rural Turkey in reasonable, but not great, comfort away from any crowds. I suspect that staying where we did in the main building is probably the nicest, although if the pension was busy the noise from the restaurant might be audible. We would recommend it to those, who do not need to have matching bed linen, shopping and designer style bathrooms and who are happy to soak up the scenery, watch the birds and village life and perhaps do a bit of walking or just relax, read and enjoy the stunning surroundings and the delicious cake and tea.
