Located at 1,500 meters above sea level in the tranquil mountain village of Mathon, Pensiun Laresch is a true alpine sanctuary. From the moment we arrived, we experienced the sense of peace that’s hard to come by in today’s world. The silence of the nature surrounds you and at night the sky looks closer and plenty of stars.||The view from our room was breathtaking—panoramic vistas on the mountains and trees. The lodge’s use of natural materials like rammed earth, local wood, and stone creates a warm, timeless atmosphere.||Breakfast was super: locally sourced products including fresh bread, regional cheeses, and marmalades. |The staff, too, were exceptional—welcoming and attentive.

Most previous reviews (in English) echo how we felt during our 6 night stay at Pension Laresch. It was just perfect - the room with fabulous view, the bathroom and the delicious breakfast. The advice from the host Lukas on local hikes as well as restaurant suggestions for dinner was so helpful. It was a wonderful stay.

We did in June an unplanned grand tour de Suisse making our bookings from day 2 day. We stayed on/bellow 250 frs per night. This place (compared to all other we did) was from far the worst price quality. It is basically approx twice the price it should be…. Reception very bad…., for 250 frs per night you expect much more …. Like a bed side table, not a Wi-Fi hotspot with cable under the table, free coffee, a well fct shower hose etc…. The place look is cool although looks finally a bit like a bunker. Restaurant wise the area is a dump. Positive was the breakfast - simple friendly and good. And it is not a pension… pension at least from my youth were very alive due to the owner leaving there… seems not the case in this place…. So at 120 frs per night it would be good.

For us, Pensiun Laresch is a tremendous find high up in the mountains, at the entrance of Mathon, a small village in Graubünden. The building is new and the architecture rigorously modern. It all blends perfectly into the beautiful surroundings. Make sure to have a look at the Pensiun's website. The photography is very good and you will know what to expect. Everything exudes quality up here, in a modern interpretation of the virtues and wisdom of the past. The hosts, Lukas and Marianne as well as their staff, are super nice and helpful and they embody the spirit of the place. Breakfast is delicious, with local cheeses and homemade bread and lots of other things. And don't miss the ravioli and the risotto for dinner! The surroundings are nothing short of breathtaking. On our walks in the village and beyond we couldn't help but feel that this would make for a great movie set. We didn't do any ambitious hiking, we needed some rest and still wanted to get some work done. So we ended up just walking a bit here and there, taking in the tranquil atmosphere, and appreciated the fast wireless connection. The other guests looked super happy and relaxed as well. We're already thinking about the next visit. This is a very special place, a thoroughly contemporary version of "away from it all." Five stars from us!

Our stay at Pensiun Laresch was, as they say, absolutely 'Tip Top'. The beautiful mountain setting, the crisp sharp cold air contrasted with the cosy earthen like natural quality of our room. Falling asleep with the soft scent of pine in the air. Waking up to perfectly composed views of the idyllic natural surroundings.||||Lukas and Marianne were wonderfully hospitable. From guidance to local hiking and outdoor activities in the area, healthy breakfasts and excellently prepared dinners, they made our stay feel so personal and as if we were staying with friends. Their attention to detail is second to none and in all, it made for a superbly relaxing stay in such a beautifully designed space, amongst what can only be described as undoubtedly one of the most serene and captivating natural surroundings we have been in. Thank you!

Very friendly and family like. They cook only for their guests and cook meat upon request and it was not a problem to get vegan food on request too. The kitchen is open and you can watch them cook. They have 2 friendly cats that like beeing petted. Opened in 2015 and they used stone, wood, clay. It has naturestone showers (open). The toilet is left (a bit unpractical as the sink is on the other side). and the shower right behind tthe beds. The room is nice and very modern but has no cabinet (drawer under the bed) which was OK for 1 night but I think unpractical for longer. Just behind the Hotel you can go sledging (you can rent them at the hotel).and we also did some snowshoe walking. Close by is also a bath where we went.

A truly beautiful Hotel thats 100% worth a visit! ⭐️ We stayed 2 nights in the apartment and it was fabulous. Super modern, cosy and clean with everything you would need. The wonderful people who work there were very friendly and helpful and the experience from start to finish was great. We will definitely return if we are in the area, as there are plenty of hiking options.
