This is the hotel I regularly stay at for work. The staff is always friendly and professional. There is even a billiards table available for relaxation. The rooms are clean and well-maintained. While the breakfast is not very varied, it is always tasty and satisfying. The location is close to the city, making it very convenient. Overall, an ideal choice.

Very friendly staff, fair pricing. Rooms and facilities all neat and clean. The Bar downstairs is stunning. Gives me cozy backpacker vibes :) Had a very pleasant and comfortable stay, will come back if ever in town again.

The staff was great; friendly and very helpful. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Bar and restaurant have all you need if you don't feel like venturing out. If you're a light sleeper, I recommend asking for a room not facing the street. We were on the 5th floor and we could hear cars and *people* all night, and this was with the fan going. The tram also runs all night.

The hotel is old, the rooms are old, the toilet fan and heating make strong noises, the toilet surprisingly new and clean. But over all is an old hotel and not so well maintained. People is great !

I visited Liege for work the week of 11/17/2025. I stayed for 3 nights. Let me start by saying this hotel is in a great location. It's centrally located and within walking distance to tons of stores and restaurants. The entrance/lobby area is great. The pool table (although missing a cue ball) is a great time waster and helps forge bonds with your traveling companions or other guests. The front desk staff is slightly attitudinal, but generally helpful. This may be due to how incredibly understaffed they appear to be. If you have the budget, you should absolutely opt for the breakfast buffet. The rooms..... I stayed on the 5th floor and the rooms felt incredibly dated. The carpet may as well have been bare hard flooring... Literally ZERO cushion on the flooring. My room was like a sauna.... I sleep cold... So I turned the heat off, waited 15 minutes and switched it to air conditioning.... It still blew hot. I waited close to an hour for improvement before calling the front desk for support. They sent a "Technician" who confirmed the situation, left, and never came back... I ended up having to sleep with the windows open (even though it was 1°C outside). Beds were comfy. Shower was meh. Provided soap was good. But why provide shampoo but no conditioner? Why have pump bottles of everything except lotion ? Just weird. The key cards get demagnetized EXTREMELY easily. So, keep away from your mobile devices..nothing's worse than coming to the hotel after a long day, going all the way up to the 5th floor, only to not be able to get into your room!!!! Overall, I give the Penta 3.5 Stars. There's some basic stuff that could be done to make this place really special, like adding full king sized comforters to the bed, updating the rooms, improving staff bedside manners, and being more supportive to guests concerns/needs. But for what it is, it serves its purpose. Next time though, I will stay at the van der valk.

This place seems determined to have as few staff on duty as possible, probably to limit the cost of wages. One uses a pad at the bar to check oneself in and the same pad to checkout. When our TV sets did not work, we had to wait an hour for help and then the one staff person had to abandon the front desk. The windows barely open, and the sun beats down on the front of the building, so the rooms heat up. The air conditioning barely functions, so Lord help you on a hot day. They have messages in the elevator that give you the impression that you are living an alternative life style, but ye gods, this is just a hotel chain. Not a great experience.

Excellent place for a night or some nights. Some nights? Yes, Liege is worth an excursion, lots to see and a charming atmosphere. Have a try!

Yelp
Pretty cool place to stay where you are close to downtown and all the attractions. You are on a main street but it isn't too loud so no problems there. The parking is a little bit of a nightmare since the garage next to the hotel is very old and the spots for the hotel are tiny. You really have to be a magician to get the car in those spots and you are literally a couple inches from the next car. We somehow made it work but it was tough. The hotel itself is clean and we had a nice stay. The lobby has a pool table and nice bar. There are a lot of places to lounge too if you want to relax. The rooms were also reasonably priced and I would definitely come back. The area is safe as well so you can feel comfortable walking around whenever. Fun stay we will be back!

Yelp
This is a nice, clean hotel with a very nice breakfast and a comfortable bar and lounge area. The rooms are comfy, clean and modern. The bed was great and they also have tons of TV channels and movies to watch. This location is close to other restaurants and the staff is very accommodating. Internet. The internet is free for basic service and to check emails and light work it is ok. If you want to send larger (1mb) and larger, you may time out and have issues. I upgraded one day and the service was much better but still not USA high speed good. I have been here a few times now and will continue to come. It's one of the better hotels in the city and priced fair. Enjoy!
