Have been coming here for years and the theaters are lovely and an asset to the Brooklyn area. However the cafe service is left wanting and after yesterday's experience has put me off forever supporting this business. You don't drop 60$ in this day and age to be yelled at by the bar staff when wondering, on a quiet Sun morning, where your drink is after 20mins and your movie has started. Better off going to Carribe and sticking with the film. So upsetting as a long term customer.

When you book online, the indication is that the screen is wider than the row of seats, and that there is almost no gap between the screen and the first row. In reality, the screen is very small (maybe the width of seven or eight seats), with the proportionate height, and is a distance from the first row. So I ended up watching on a screen that appeared smaller than my TV. They also charged me $6 for a can of Coke. The only redeeming factor was that it was slightly cheaper than other cinemas, but in my instance I overpaid for a Coke so I struggled to find any value. Overall a very disappointing experience - I would recommend seeing films elsewhere unless you have no other choice.

originally known as the Vogue Theatre, was constructed for the Ranish family and opened on 15 June 1939. They have four cinemas also they are available for hire: Cinema One – 167 seats Cinema Two – 66 seats Cinema Three – 168 seats Vogue Suite – 30 seats Only thing is they have paid parking. There is a pay and display car park located on the south side of the cinema building on Ohiro Road. You can also pay for the southside (downhill) carpark inside the cinema at the tills. Not the north side park.

Been a cinema fan since teen years and the Penthouse is perfect for swooping in, parking directly outside, ice cream, chips, lemonade and ticket to some fabulous French film and back out in car and home. No fuss, great service no matter the weather. Perfect escapism. And if I have had a really challenging day, I take the long way there or back home along the coastal road with a view of sun sea and sand with my sounds on and windows down.

Cinema is fantastic and we will be back to enjoy a good movie again - love the plush seats and massive screen! However, the cafe left us a little disappointed. It was quite expensive and the food wasn't really good. The couscous was quite bland and the burger was just bog standard. Chips were pretty decent!

A very standard cinema experience - but parked in the carpark clearly labelled 'Cinema parking', arrived at 7:58pm (2 minutes before the move began) and left at 9:52pm (immediately after the movie finished), and received a $65 parking fine in the post a few days later for 'exceeding time limit'. A spontaneous outing with my wife to support a local business has left me with two weeks of emailing back and forth with an Auckland based parking firm Smart Compliance Management, disputing the ticket and being asked for evidence - as yet unresolved. Penthouse have left us feeling tricked with sneaky revenue gathering tactics. There was absolutely no clear indication that the carpark was not intended for paying customers of the Cinema (there was a street sign directing cinema patrons into the carpark!). Had I known there were consequences for following the directions I would otherwise have parked in many free parks in the street - parking is not a problem in the area at that time. Not the kiwi way at all, shame on you Penthouse.

Superb classic movie theatre with the glam of movie stars decorating the entranceway. The Cafe and dining areas are a delight, and so are the soft furnishings to sit on on the way to and from the theatres. Theatre seating is also comfortable and plush. I'm looking forward to going to a movie every day during the week of my stay in Brooklyn.

Loved this cinema. Had a wine before movie and one to take in. Very art deco, comfy
