Ate here for the first time on Labor Day with my triathlon club. We biked in from Medford and arrived with our appetites.
We were seated right away in the outdoor patio area, (I imagine they didn't want us cyclists stinking up the dining room!) which was nice. We did venture indoors to use the restroom, which is almost located in the kitchen, which was a little weird, but clean and private.
Walking through the restaurant gives one the opportunity to see all of the amazing pies and other desserts on display. OMG, the pies looked so good, they actually looked fake! During my entire breakfast, I was trying to think of a way to transport a pie 16 miles back to Medford on my bike. Unfortunately, I was not able to figure out a viable solution to my problem.
However, much to my delight, one of my teammates in our party bought a whole pie for the group to celebrate some birthdays. It was a mixed berry with a crumb top. Most definitely the best pie I've ever had in my life.
As far as our breakfast itself went, our server was quick to delivery water to everyone, and then coffee and other drinks that we ordered. Upon being seated, everyone is given a lemon biscotti - delicious! Our food came out pretty quickly. I got the spinach mushroom quiche, which came with home fries. Both were really good and fresh, and had a nice presentation. The portion of home fries was a little on the small side, but my slice of pie made up for it.
Everyone seemed very happy with their meals, and most importantly, the pie! :) On the way out I got some corn, even though it was obviously not local since it's way too early for Jersey corn, and a couple of apple cider donuts, which my husband and I ate later at home. The donuts were OK, but nowhere near as good as Springdale Farm's apple cider donuts. Obviously, pie is where this place excels!
I plan to return again (in a car!) and get a whole pie, and hope my tri team plans another ride out there soon!
