Penzion Zaka Bled

Really friendly welcoming hotel with excellent service, in a perfect location right on the lake front. Staff were so helpful and friendly, and our room spacious and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the lake. Bar and restaurant were relaxed with a great atmosphere, with outdoor seating overlooking the lake. Kids loved it as much as we did - highly recommend!

Do not eat here we waited two hours to be served and when we were served three salads took and hour and a half and they brought us the wrong ones a table next to us ordered chicken and got fish. when I mentioned the wait time the waitress said so and shrugged her shoulders. When paying they refused to give an itemised receipt until after I payed and when I did I saw they had added a few random charges for stuff we did not have. The chips never came even when asked for

We stayed here for 4 days and it was good. The beds were very comfortable and it was queit. The breakfast was delicious and the restaurant below was also great. This hotel was truely on the coast. The parking was also easy to find becuse we got a reserved spot for our car. Recomended

We stopped here in June, we loved the hotel, the room was comfy , the breakfast great, Katja was really helpful and nice, short walk to the lake, lots to do in the area, will definitely stay here again

A lovely hotel on the lake, we have the triple family room with lake view. It was big, clean and had a dining area. Breakfast was from 8 am till 10 am delicious food.|Near the hotel only 3 minutes walk a station for the touristic train which goes around the lake.|The staff of the hotel were very friendly and helpful they offered help and hospitality to us especially Katjia very nice person. |They have bar and restaurant open till 5:30 pm.

There are lots of negative reviews on here that I feel are exaggerated and unfounded. We stayed at Pension Zaka for 2 nights, ate in the cafe/ bar in the evenings and the restaurant for breakfast.||Positives: Superb location on the shore of Lake Bled opposite the town. Quirky hotel that also hosts the Slovenian rowing office (it's next to Bled rowing centre) a restaurant and lakeside cafe/ bar. Helpful staff who spoke sufficient English for us to get by. Car parking available. Good size room (family room for 4 people) with air con, a balcony with lake view and pretty good WiFi. Decent breakfast. The cafe bar served nice pizzas and tasty burgers plus had a good ice cream selection. The prices are reasonable - it's a popular spot. The grassy area by the lake and rowing pontoons gets busy later in the day with people walking round the lake, but there is a nice vibe.||Could be improved: The reception desk wasn't always staffed and it wasn't always that obvious who to seek help from. There are no lifts and the rooms are on the first and second floors, so if mobility is difficult, seek alternative accommodation. Other than this, nothing.||We (London based family of 4) really enjoyed our stay here and would revisit.

We had a lovely two night stay here. Our host was beautiful and the location is so quiet at night. We had a very relaxing 2 days here. I would stay here again.

The location of the hotel is amazing - a minute's walk from the lakeside making it easy to spend the day swimming and relaxing within easy reach of your room. It's a grassy area by the lake, not a beach as such, but this didn't bother us at all. We were there in glorious weather so it did get quite busy, but when we visited other areas of the lake, we realised we were in the quiet end! There's a restaurant, bar and ice-cream/snack hut below the hotel, SUP and boat rental c.5 minutes walk away, a restaurant, bar, Mercator and ice-cream hut a 10-15minutes walk away, and the centre of Bled is c.30-45 minutes walk. The hotel and rooms themselves are a little tired but clean. The family room was spacious enough for us, with a double bed and two singles, a fridge and kettle, air conditioning and a lovely balcony, great for drying off the swimming stuff. There was a good amount of wardrobe storage, a dressing table, and a bedside table each, but could have done with a few more hooks for towels and bags, and maybe a few more surfaces for putting things on. The hotel has its own car parking which is great as it's not cheap to park around the lake. Breakfast is the standard buffet - eggs, meat, cereal, cheese, bread, some lovely pastries/cakes, fruit, yoghurt (and boiled broccoli and cauliflower which raised the eyebrows of the youngsters). Nothing extraordinary but we all found it enough to fill up on and to not feel like you're eating the same thing every morning. The staff are busy - it seemed to be a small team running the hotel, restaurant, bar and snack stall - so you can sometimes wait a little while for attention, but all our interactions with staff were pleasant. Probably not the place for people who like their creature comforts and want a pristine, modern room, but we think it would be hard to beat the location, and we had a comfortable, enjoyable stay.
