I was to travel to Bratislava with my family and needed some place nice and calm to stay. This pension looked just like the thing I was looking for. I was going to travel in summer, but wanted to make bookings well in advance, to be on a safe side. So I wrote an email to this hotel/pension specifying the sort of room I'd need and the exact dates of our visit. Any hotel owner would be happy with this, right? Wrong. Not this one. I got a shocking reply saying something like 'oh, it's way too early to book, in our experience plans change, contact us closer to the time'. ??? No, mine don't - if I make a booking, I stick to it, or at least give a notice well in advance if I'm unable to come. But I really liked the location on the slope, so I waited for another two months and then, a month before the intended arrival, I contacted them again, with the same details. But unfortunately the response was also the same! Even a single month before the arrival, it still was too early to book in their opinion! Well, this was a deal breaker. I logged onto AirBnB, found a nice flat close to the castle, booked it and that was it. When I got onto TripAdvisor to leave my review I saw that I'm not the only one leaving one star for this place. The only difference I never even got to stay there - but having experienced what I've experienced, maybe it's better that way. I just wonder what sort of business model are these people running and how come they are still around with this attitude?
