European-Style Christmas Markets You Can Visit This Winter
"Dates open: November 27 to December 23
This year, little visitors to the Peoples Gas Holiday Market in Pittsburgh won’t be able to sit with St. Nick in his popular Santa House, but they can chat with him in real-time thanks to a new Santa Zoom: Live From the North Pole experience. When they’re not hobnobbing virtually with Kris Kringle, visitors can listen to live music, sample traditional European foods, browse dozens of decked-out chalets for gifts (including Spanish pottery and wall art made from—what else?—steel), or take a spin on the outdoor ice rink." - Lindsay Lambert Day
Kinda disappointing. We’ve been to two Christkindl Markets in Chicago. Very similar but much larger. Most of items were made in China. Not much of a selection and food vendors were minimal. The skating rink was nice.

A nice holiday market for the season! There's good food to try, lots of various ornaments, and live music at times.

Charming experience every time. The vendors are friendly and the Pittsburgh items mixed with International offerings makes for a fine variety of merchandise for self or gift-giving. Highly recommend an annual visit. We came from out of town and went to Holiday Magic at Phipps Conservatory the prior evening.

A tradition for us every year. We go several times. Great items and food to choose from. Right near the Christmas tree and ice rink

This is sub par at best. Crowded and insanely expensive. Wanted to go for years and probably won't go again. Definitely don't try it with a stroller it's unreasonable to navigate. If your expecting it to be something like a festival with tons of vendors like bakery/breads or like jelly/jams or even affordable decor for the holidays, it just isn't.

My daughter and I enjoyed our first Christmas Market in December but hopefully not our last. We always love hanging out at Market Square when visiting Pittsburgh!

The night that my partner and I visited was wonderful. There were local vendors selling everything from almonds to pottery. I did some Christmas shopping and ended the evening with some of the best apple strudel I’ve ever had!

Great holiday experience downtown (Market Square) but needs a refresh. Vendor pricing still mostly high, but some of the vendors do seem to have more budget friendly items this year. Food items include: German streusel, pretzels, cinnamon almonds/nuts, fudge and chocolates.
