Visit to People’s Park Food Centre is a feast for the senses, where the lively atmosphere reflects the melting pot of cultures. Stalls brim with an array of local favorites, from Singapore hawker classics. The variety is endless — noodles, dumplings, roasted meats, and fragrant stir-fries fill the air with irresistible aromas. It has underwent renovations in 2024 and it is now more airy with overhead netting above the tables and chairs where they are in the exposed to weather areas to prevent birds from landing onto the food.

Bad review for Lee Kwang Kee fish soup Ordered the black grouper soup at $9 which I was told it ran out and they proposed to change to red grouper at $10. Since it was for takeaway, I was unable to check the contents which to my surprise later, the black grouper slices given was more than the red grouper which was what I paid for. Very dishonest tactics.

Well, I guess there is not much to expect from food court located in one of Singapore oldest districts. I'd say this food court is decent from what it has. Many stalls, the proximity to other facilities like shopping complex, MRT, parking area, and many more. It's an open aired food court, the price is okay, considered good in current Singapore standard, but it's always crowded. On non-peak hours, it's not that difficult to find seats, but still, it always feels messy and crowded.

Historic hawker centre in the heart of Chinatown, now well-known for its many PRC-run stalls offering Sichuan mala dishes alongside long-time local favourites like braised duck, roast meats, loh mei & yong tau foo. Wide variety & affordable prices, though the gritty, no-frills environment may not suit everyone.

Many nice local food available. Visit because rained in the morning and weather is cooling. The centre has installed many wall fans so it not that hot and humid after all .

Honestly the food here is nice.. But unfortunately side is the hygiene of the premises really suck! Look at their servicing tray! Damn dirty NEVER WASH AT ALL! JUST WIPE WITH A DIRTY CLOTH.. Why? Cos I am sitting near to the tray return area! Second is the bird roamed freely and fighting for food below the table! Where the diner was having his meal just now! Some fly over me... Nice food also do come with certain hygienic practice isn't? Today I had my favourite yong tau foo.. still taste great.. but the dirty tray become a downside! Doesn't NEA come by and check those table, utensils and tray whether got any viruses! Updated on 21 July 2025 Same damn dirty on the tray.. came here around 8+pm.. still have this Yong Tau Fu, unknown the name of the store.. food taste good.. but the tray is still unimaginable "DIRTY".. Some earlier noodle or sauce still on the tray which they are still using it for their customers! Hello to those in hygiene department! What kind of standard is this.. the previous diner might cough or usually left over from their mount still on the tray! Can't imagine just lucky pick any tray see will their pass the hygiene or germ test! The after 8pm table is more cleaner than the tray .🤦🤦.. Food great but hygiene standards extremely lousy.. Just wonder how they passes the cleanliness test if there is?

Revamped Peoples Park food centre is now cleaner and better ventilation. Feels more airy with many fans installed. Many choices of local food and native China favorites. Plenty of choices for different taste buds and very affordable. This time I enjoyed a local char koay teow from a unassuming stall and the taste was delicious. Full of wok hei, smokiness and deep flavor. Stall #01-1136 This hawker centre is highly recommended.

2025: Well priced hawker hall, but many better versions of dishes can be found elsewhere. ***

Yelp
Huge hawker center in the middle of Chinatown, Singapore immediately next to the Chinatown MRT station. Not the cleanest. Not the most touristy. Not the most modern. But they have a great selection and amazing prices. You can expect to pay no more than $5 for a meal. The first thing I noticed is now bustling this area was. Lots of locals, which made it easier to follow the crowds for the best stalls! We visited two other hawker centers in Chinatown on the same day (Maxwell Food Centre and Chinatown Complex Food Centre) and this one was by far the most lively. In fact, the other centers were a little dead compared to this one with many businesses closed. Even though it was crowded, bit wasn't hard to find a seat and the lines moved quickly. My only complaint was the lack of cleanliness. This center is clearly on the older end, and the floors, tables, chairs were dirty and worn. Bring your disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer.

Yelp
Lots of different types of local food to choose from. Mainly Chinese food and China styled dishes. The place is a Mecca for Chinese food. Crowed at lunch and dinner times. Go in between and you won't feel crushed. Try the authentic China mala dishes. Whole fried fish on a steaming tray. Chinese ala cart dishes are available too. Definitely not restaurant ambience but the food is delicious!

Yelp
Some of Singapore's greatest food can be found inside this Hawker Center in China Town. We ate Michelin pork & duck here and it was the amazing. From drinks to snacks and down right meals it's all here.

Yelp
I ate here, a ton. Food is so inexpensive and yet soooooo delicious. Tables and the whole loud mess and cacophony....a bit of getting used to, and one has to have bit of a tough belly. Sticky? Yes, a bit, tabletops and memorable yellow plastic chairs. One comes to attack all of the food choices here anyway. Go half blind with taste buds fully prepped! But from everything from fruit juices to hot regional specialties, I enjoyed arching through all of the hawker stalls. There's an indoor large space of hawker, and then adjacent, outside, is another mess of vendors, selling fruits, juices, carbohydrate wonders, snack street food. Almost impossible to describe it all now. I'm looking into back reviewing SG places. Finishing the Crazy Rich Asians trilogy has gotten me hooked back on this fascinating island city-state,

Yelp
Right next to Chinatown MRT. Amazing Hawker Center with variety of food and cheap prices. The only downsize, there is no AC. But the food is worth it. You get a variety of options ranging from noodles, hotpot, soup etc. There are a lot of snacks options and fruit sellers too. Money exchangers with reasonable rates are also there. I have come here many times but this time tried the spicy sichuan noodles (SGD4) along with sugarcane juice with no ice (SGD2.3). Both amazing. I saw a long queue for a hotpot place that I am gonna try next!

Yelp
So much food. So reasonable So good. These hawker stalls rely on local patronage so you benefit because they wouldn't be in business if they weren't good. I four I stall with shave ice I had the mango lychee shave ice $2.5 and the $2 shave ice. Both were not up to my shave ice standards and I rate it a 2 star but on a hot day it goes up to 4 for refreshing. Stall number 0-1142

Yelp
This place is a bit of a mess and often neglected, especially with the wonderful hawker center behind People's Park Centre. Nonetheless, there are a few reasons why you should visit this place, 1. Vegetarian stall--Fake meat? Check! Fake fish? Check! Brown rice? Check! Is everything covered in corn syrup or oil? Nope, so check, check! 2. Cheap food with air conditioning...enough said. 3. Saba Fish from the Korean stall. At $5 a pop, this baby here can't go wrong. 4. See #2 5. See #2 Sure, this place is frequented by the elderly, but they don't smell like muscle rub so it's all good! At least, I don't think they smell like muscle rub...I'm much too busy stuffing my face :)

Yelp
This was really delicious food. From the beef noodle soup over dumplings, steamed and fried up to the Szechuan style food. Proximity to China town makes it somewhat focused on Chinese food.

Yelp
Too much China food. The place is messy, dirty and poor ventilation although there are fans. Give tourist a poor image of Singapore. It should house more varities local food.

Yelp
Great place if you have no idea what to eat, they have everything! Affordable as well. It is a bit messy and somewhat dirty, so be prepared :)
