Been here several times before. It is usually good. It's on a busy corner, downtown Waukesha. There are several floors, with a bar on the 1st and a rooftop patio. Lots of different areas to sit at. It's casually designed with some very nice elements. I especially like the eclectic mural behind the part.
Came with a couple of friends on a Saturday night. Got here about 5:00-ish and got a table right away. They sat us a booth towards the end of the bar.
Our server didn't take too long to get us set with menu, and our drink order. Lots of different beers, wines and cocktails. My Paloma was a good choice (but could have used a bit more seasoned salt on the rim).
We ordered some Tempura Green Beans as a starter, a Classic Burger, Chicken Sandwich, Pesto Salmon, and I had the Zona's in the Beet Patch with Salmon.
The beans came out right away, a very good size portion, hot, and flavorful. The Wasabi Ranch Dipping Sauce was a big hit. The entrees came after a short wait. They were also very good choices. The salmon was nicely cooked too, and the Zona's salad was fresh, nice textures, and a good portion too. The hamburger was good, with the exception, ordered medium-rare, and was more medium. The server was attentive during the entire meal. Helpful, friendly, and efficient.
The part of the meal that was not so good was the atmosphere. To begin with, when there are plenty of diners, this can be a noisy place. In addition, where we were seated, towards the end of the bar, there was a gathering of servers/employees that were just standing there (up to 6 at one point), and having a little party. It's wasn't horrible, but was distracting, and added to the already noisy environment. Next time, I would definitely ask for a different spot.
It was a good, but not great dining experience.
