Peper Apparel & Parlor Shoes

Honestly, I was really second guessing leaving a review mostly because me and my friends just wanted to let the situation go but I just feel like I HAVE to say something. So, my friends and I (about 4-5 people) walked inside and the workers seemed very nice. We greeted each other and began to look around. Keep in mind we’re teenagers, we aren’t rowdy or anything, we were in fact very respectful of this store because everything looked very vintage. My friends and I exited the store after 5 minutes of looking around and the lady at the front said “Have a nice day” and we said it back. My friend then told me how she was staring at us the whole time as if we were going to do something bad. Now keep in mind, my group of friends do not look scary, in fact we were dressed up because we were celebrating our last day of school and graduation. So, as we were standing outside the store for a few seconds before deciding where to go next, when this customer, who had entered the store as we were leaving, stopped us and said that when she walked into the store the workers had said that we were acting “conceited” because “we were on our phones.” We we’re all confused because we didn’t know if she was lying or not. So we looked at the workers through the window and they were rolling their eyes, pointing as us and making us very uncomfortable. Now, to us, using a phone is not disrespectful because everyone checks their phone like 100 times a day. I didn’t realize that using a phone can be viewed as “disrespectful” and make someone look “conceited”. So, I don’t know if it’s because of our age, or the fact that the workers are white, and myself and my friends are hispanic/ middle eastern but this needed to be said because of the issues going on in the world right now. I am incredibly disappointed in the workers and I am glad that the lady who informed us about them, told us. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone because everyone single person deserves respect, no matter who they are and what they look like.

Friendly staff with great taste and styling advice. I always have a great shopping experience here - I can pick up something that I do not normally wear and find a new style for myself.

Loved the product in this store - I bought a Baggu backpack that saved my day in the city. The people are even better - so friendly and helpful - gave us awesome advice on navigating Hoboken !

My first stop in New York is always to Pepper and parlour . They have a curated collection of gorgeous clothes, great shoes and my Favorite collection of lingerie. The ladies who work here are lovely and go out of the way to help you find the sizes you need or even suggestion for a local meal . See you soon . Looking forward to bringing my teenage daughter here over the holidays for a special treat.. 💕

Expensive 200 dollars for one tang top

Love the curated selection and how helpful & honest the employees are about what looks good! It's a great place in town to get quality pieces from classic brands.

I've stopped into Peper & Parlor so many times over the years, but the high prices always kept me dreaming. I love just looking around because the pieces are very cute and on trend. But just out of my budget for the most part. Stopped in AGAIN over the weekend and discovered the most amazing little treasures on their sale rack. This sale rack got literally all of my attention after it was found. Walked out with two amazing dresses that I unfortunately need to wait until Spring comes to wear, but who cares I love them! Both dresses were just over $150 combined while full priced were each $200+. Whatta deal. The staff was so helpful and I never felt like I was trying to be sold. They were honest when something didn't fit right, which is so refreshing. Although I still can't afford most full priced items in the shop, I'm definitely going to continue to stop in and peruse my new favorite sale rack in Hoboken.

I absolutely LOVE shopping here!! They carry the best brands and the cutest accessories. The jeans here always fit and the sweaters are the coziest! The lingerie collection here is awesome too! I started buying all my undies and bras here. So comfortable! Rachel makes shopping so easy for busy me. She'll send me pictures of things she thinks I'll like and pick. Over the holidays they went above and beyond and delivered it to me! I love them! Shop here and feel good about Supporting local businesses

If the sisterhood of the traveling pants was a clothing store this would be it. Warm, friendly and welcoming. I feel supported in making purchases that are flattering for me, the ladies at peper always have great advice and style. Proud of this local business who've been in the Hoboken community for over 20 years.

This place is great! I spent my lazy Sunday in Hoboken enjoying brunch and doing a little shopping/browsing at some of the stores in uptown. I wandered into this great boutique and was so excited to check out some super trendy brands and some quality clothing. From clothes to knitted hats and scarves, to some great jewelry and of course shoes, this place has it all. Everything is pretty pricey but, the style and the brands (mostly independent boutique brands) are definitely what the retail price is so by no means do I think this spot over charges. And to highlight, most of these brands aren't easy to find. You have to go into a store like this to indeed buy 'em. So definitely some great unique pieces. I didn't see a sale rack, which I'm a thrifty gal and I always like to find a bargain especially when I'm paying full price for other items so, c'mon now, hook some sistahs up and beef up those discounts!

Great collection of fabulousity! The buyer is on point and I find style inspiration every time I walk into the doors. Personally I like when sales people aren't in my face while I try things on. But if you need a helping hand while you shop, this place may not be for you. More seasoned fashionistas will do just fine. Definitely check the sales rack, Ive found beautiful pieces there for under $50!

Every time I have ever been in this store, the customer service is the WORST:(((((( Pricey little store where the product value definitely does not match the price at all...but the Most embarrassing thing isssss how discourteous the sales reps are...they don't acknowledge the customers, they seem to be more interested in there Facebook then they do the customer! The sales rep actually rolled her eyes when I asked her about a skirt!!!! Looked like something a grown up Holly Hobbit might wear... Soooo Much for Peper and Parlor!!!! Iffff you like good customer service goooo to Luna Rosa, Uuuu will LOVE IT:))))

Service is horrible. You can find most of the things they sell by looking online (many for lower prices) and you will avoid dealing with them or their attitude. Owner is helpless.

Pros: this place has a really nice, unique selection of clothing, shoes, and accessories Cons: expensive (average price of a shirt is $200-$300); staff is very indifferent. Usually I am not bothered by this, but today I went there to looking for jeans, thinking it would be nice to buy them at a local small business vs. Saks. However, the sales staff could not have been less interested in helping me. They literally ignored me when I clearly wanted to try things on and later was confusedly trying to figure out the difference between the jeans they had on selection. They didn't even give the standard "how did it go" after I tried on the jeans. And I was the only customer in the store! I definitely would have bought a few things there today if the salespeople had been even the slightest bit helpful, but I I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I have to limit my visits to Peper / Parlor, because I know I'll find something I suddenly can't live without. The owner's eclectic and exquisite taste is reflected in every corner of the store. The only thing keeping me from heaping five stars on this great place is the price point, which is somewhat out of the reach of your fashionable 20-thing, but well worth it for the quality. Oh, and their sales are amazing!

I like this place, but sometimes I think the prices are just a little too much for what you're getting. Cool collection of stuff.

Love this store! It's becoming my go to when I'm in the need for new denim. Also their website makes it so easy to pre shop. Yes, it is a little pricey but I found that if I spend a little bit more on basics they will last me a lot longer.
