I stayed one night here after several nights at a resort and I’d come back here the next time verses the big fancy places. Service was great. Small quaint place that was very clean and free of bugs. Super cold AC, great on pricing, fridge. The rooms are very cute. The beds were also comfy!! Locked parking lot at night and security cameras everywhere. Perfecto, gracias.

The rooms are small BUT the location, the staff, the puppy & the price makes Pepita's a great stay when on the island. An easy walk to anything in town. Loads of restaurants close by including banks and bars! Coffee and water in the common area are a bonus. The ONLY issue we had was when we arrived, we found that the shower head was basically useless. It was nothing more than a drip, drip drip......trying to explain to the young gentleman at the desk was difficult in English, BUT once we took him to our room and showed him the situation, we all laughed, and the nozzle was replaced immediately. From that point forward every time we saw each other we'd all laugh!!!!

Hotel Pepita is super well located. The owners are super sweet and helpful. The rooms spacious, very cute and you have hot shower. You cannot ask for more. I definitely recommend it.

Friendly staff. Excellent location in the heart of Cozumel just 3 short blocks from the ferry. Clean, comfortable, air conditioned rooms with plentiful hot water in the shower and a lovely courtyard with free coffee and purified water and excellent WiFi.

There's no way I can have a negative review be the most recent one for this hotel, much as I'd love to keep it a secret.||||It had been 15 years since I used to come here annually. This year I returned and to my joy, found it nearly unchanged in all critical ways. The hotel is still spotlessly clean, simple room with comfortable bed, private bath, in-room refrigerator(!!), free all-day water + morning coffee, common clothesline for drying clothes/dive gear, and free Wifi. Most important of all, the hotel has retained its old-style, enormous heart. It features a lovely plant-filled courtyard. whose long table provides a gathering place for guests (and often the owner) to meet and converse -- increasingly special in our so-called 'connected' world.||||The hotel's location is great -- within a 5-10 minute walk of the town square (zocalo), the local food market, several great tacquerias and a superb ice cream shop. I'll be returning again soon!

My friends had stayed there in 1983. After that we stayed at El Presidente and Cozumelena. We were all happy with our choice of Hotel Pepita this trip. It is right downtown. Easy for morning jogs along the beach, easy to sample many restaurants, walking from the Ferry is easy and catching a taxi is easy. |Hotel was clean, and the staff were affable, ready to assist and friendly. Wifi is available if you are in the patio. That was a great experience. We met other tourists, there, shared photos, and made plans. We ate our nightly coconut ice cream with Kahlua there. Some of us were on our phones, some were doing business, and the rest of chatted or read books. I was alone a few days with a nonfunctioning phone and the owner asked his niece to give me a ride to the local phone company for assistance. So the price was right, the room and patio were comfortable, felt very safe and secure. For the few days that we rented a car the hotel provided a fenced and locked parking lot. I would return.

On 3 separate occasions (2003, 2016, and 2019) I have just shown up on the doorstep of hotel Pepita and managed to find a room every time, I think because it is hidden inland a few blocks and no one ventures that far from the main street. I showed up during the major festival and still had a room through 1 of those 3 nights. (The whole town was sold out so it was my fault for not looking into what was happening in town before I left Calgary.)||Good sized rooms with a TV two double beds and private bathroom and shower. Well priced for the accommodation. The place could be a little cleaner as often the bathroom looks like its never had a great scrub. Fortunately Im not super picky, just there to sleep, not eating off the floor. What do you expect for $40 per night.I'll book there again, the staff are very nice, though you may befit to learn a little Spanish as they do not all speak English.

A 2018 update on my 2017 review... Hotel Pepita is even nicer than last year, with new bedspreads, fresh paint, and new electrical switches/grounded outlets in the rooms. Staff is still incredibly friendly and helpful, rooms are still exceptionally clean, location is still convenient and safe. Wifi works in courtyard; less well in the rooms, but dive-friends had same issue at their expensive beach hotel. Best way to book is still to call on phone and speak slowly. Only quibble is that the morning coffee is still awful :-)
