Our room was huge, clean and very comfortable. It had everything we needed. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed the bar and the restaurant and we loved the free parking available. The location was great on the river, close enough to the city without being stuck in the traffic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone.

We booked a Tamar River Suite (room 407) for two nights and it was super spacious. The decor, fittings and fixtures felt high end. One of the nicest rooms we've ever stayed in, although could do with a few extra lights in the lounge area. Booked through Luxury Escapes which included breakfast. That was the only negative for us. The staff were great but because it's a la carte only, was very slow. They don't have a buffet option. The bar and lounge area was a great place to chill out with a drink. The hotel has a resident dog and as much as I love dogs, I don't think letting him roam freely around hotel is a good idea. Seemed quite unhygienic as he sniffed around the lounge for food scraps with slobber drooling from his mouth.

Beautiful Historic Hotel by the banks of the Tamar River .||I had booked a Tamar river view room which I assumed would be in the old Silos Building and was one of the reasons I chose this Hotel. Unfortunately it was in the new building out the back. It was a beautiful spacious room with excellent and comfortable facilities but the river view was not what I was expecting. It was a view of the Hotel car park and garden and the homeless encampment nearby with glimpses of the river. ||I received a really nice welcome gift as a Platinum Accor member but no room upgrade.||Food and Beverages||Once I got past my disappointment with the room and the view we ventured to Woodys Bar for a light dinner and some drinks. The Hotel has an exceptionally comfortable lounge area and the bar had a good range of tapas style food and an excellent range of drinks which assuaged my hunger and thirst and eased my disappointment somewhat. ||The staff in Woodys Bar were very professional and helpful and exceptional at their jobs.||Breakfast at Grain of the Silos was made to order and delicious with a good range of a la carte choices.||It’s a bit of a distance to the city but the Seaport area with an array of restaurants is nearby and you can also walk to Cataract Gorge.||The hotel seems very well run and all staff that we interacted with from Reception to Housekeeping and Bar and Restaurant were very professional.||I would stay again but would definitely reach out to the Hotel and request a room in the Silos or at least check what I had booked.

Very impressed with our room. We required 2 double beds - not always easy to find! The room was incredibly spacious (way above the normal hotel sized rooms). Lovely decor, comfortable beds. Our room overlooked the river. Highly recommended. We haven't tried the restaurant yet, but plan to during our 3 night stay.

We stayed in the Silo Premier Suite and the photos just don't do this room justice. The bed was comfortable (our best sleep while in Tasmania), the room was spacious with large sofa lounge. The bathroom is amazing, amazing size, huge bathtub and double rainfall shower with hand held wand. The only misses - not enough hooks for towels and not enough hangers or drawers for an extended stay. |The hotel is beautiful, the staff are friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was a tad over priced, but we find that with most hotels so it wasn't unexpected. Most everything we wanted to do or see was in walking distance of the hotel so mostly left the car parked while we explored Launceston.

Stayed here as a couple mid week. Price was quite good for what you got. Stayed in the king rooms with view of the river. View was great. Rooms were large and very clean. Checkin was easy, staff were nice and friendly. |Restaurant was nice. King beds were 2x joined singles so be wary of that. |The hotel has its own dog which is cool!

The rooms in the converted silo section are great; lots of room, big bathroom and views towards cataract gorge. The location lets it down somewhat as it’s quite isolated, a long walk into town and other restaurants and no direct bus service if you don’t have a car. No buffet breakfast and service can be slow, if you need to catch a flight give yourself plenty of time.

We came here for dinner and ordered a series of platters. Each small meal was cooked to perfection. I love good food and these meals were mouth watering. They flavours of each dish shone and the customer service was outstanding as well. Thank you for producing such exquisite food. We will be back.

Yelp
A new hotel located in a refurbished former grain silo near the river in Launceston, Tasmania. While we only stayed 1 night, I was wishing for a longer stay given the friendly staff, fantastic breakfast and clever, unique room. We were in a deluxe king, 710 which was such a cool room. Each of the former grain silo towers has been split in Half to form two very large rooms with curved concrete walls. They've also cut windows into the side with a beautiful view of the Tamar river. We enjoyed watching all tHe rowing club boats going past eArly in the day. Opposite the silo rooms is a standard wing with more traditional shaped rooms. Opened only since mid 2018, it stills feel new and certainly has all that you want as it relates to features like bedside power/USB ports, modern rain shower shower head, modern furnishings, comfy bed and pillows (sleep great!) lots of space and more. There's an on-site bar as well as a nice restaurant. Just off the lobby there's a beautiful crushed gravel walking track for short or long walks. It's even possible to follow it all the way to cataract gorge-45 min each way. I was also very impressed by the friendly service at the Front desk and restaurant. Speaking of food, the breakfast buffet is very substantial with cook to order eggs and pAncakes and much more. If you book breakfast when you check in it's only $AUD 22 vs 29 day of at the restaurant and well worth the price. Finally, the hotel has a resident black lab named Archy-and you can take him for walKs if you are missing your own pooch. Bottom line-it's all good. Highly recommended.
