Peppers Silo Launceston

We expected much more from this hotel. The location is nice...if your room is looking at the river. Our rooms did look to the other side, which is a parking lot in a commerical-industrial area - pretty grey. Also, the cleanliness of the hotel was not on the expected level. At checkin, we had to call somebody to clean up our drawers, which were full of crumbles and leftovers from previous visitors. Obviously, nobody had checked. The housekeeping was too busy to come over and clean properly, but on the bright side, a very forthcoming and responsible young lady from reception took the job over and cleaned the leftovers from previous visitors. She was very polite, efficient and we enjoyed talking with her! One of the 2 elevators was not working while the hotel was very busy, this which made moving between ground floor and our rooms on the 7th floor a test of patience for all guests- oooohm :) The rooms themselves are large, but pretty basic. Everything has been done on the cheap side... What I couldn't understand is why the architect decided on placing our beds directly behind the elevator shaft. The room was big, there were several options to choose differently, but I guess the architect thought we would enjoy listening to the elevator while moving up and down while lying in bed. Luckily, only one elevator was working, because 2 working elevators might have been too much goodness to listen to :)

I came in late from a flight from Perth, their first question to me was, “Have you had dinner?” And when I replied that I hadn’t, they immediately sorted me a table at their fine dining restaurant even though the dinner service was closing in five minutes. They took my bags off me, had them sent to my room and guided me straight to the restaurant. The staff were welcoming, compassionate and professional from the moment I walked in the doors. The rooms were beautifully presented, clean, tidy and the perfect place to rest your head at the end of a long day. I will definitely be staying here again!

Took a rare family weekend away, and the stay at Peppers was perfect. The location was excellent - on the river, lots of parking, and next to a PHENOMENAL all-ages playground. Room was extremely spacious and clean - we stayed in one of the old silo rooms with the curved concrete wall? Peppers had made up a roller bed for our 8 year old which was appreciated. Bathroom was enormous with very large walk in shower and separated toilet cubicle as well as all usual amenities. The touches of natural finishes in the room and hotel was a nice Tassie vibe. The restaurant was a standout. We had dinner there only one of the two nights, and every dish was perfect. We had each of the specials (2 x entrees, 2 x mains) and our picky eating child ordered a second serving of the kids fish and chips after finishing the first one. Service was friendly but not overbearing, swift and professional. Not cheap, but it was one of the best dinners we have had in years. Will be highly recommending Peppers Silo Hotel at Launceston to others, and probably be back there ourselves again next year.

The hotel itself was beautiful. The room was spacious and clean. Our main concern was the dog roaming around in the lounge area, licking and eating from the plates that people had eaten from. It was a real turn off and hard to comprehend for a 5 star hotel. We were not the only ones to find this very unpleasant.

Booked in for two nights. We were warmly greeted by the staff at the Reception desk. The room we were assigned was in one of the silos. The room was spacious, very comfortable and very quiet. The view from the large window in the room overlooked the river and the homes dotted on the hillside. The hotel on the whole was lovely and the decor thoughtfully chosen. From the hotel, the CBD and the Harvest Market was a short and easy walk. Being a lover of fur babies, Archie the Reception’s resident Labrador was the cherry on the cake. Will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Launceston and needing accommodation.

We stayed after a private function held at Peppers Silo. The room was lovely and clean, and had every thing we needed. The bed really was so comfortable, and I had the best night sleep. The room was facing the road, but it was really quiet, we didn’t get any of the city noise I was expecting. The shower was large and had the best pressure and hot water, and we had decent sized share bottles, not little half serve sized products to use. The hotel front desk service was helpful and polite. I would definitely recommend and stay again.

Our room was huge, clean and very comfortable. It had everything we needed. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed the bar and the restaurant and we loved the free parking available. The location was great on the river, close enough to the city without being stuck in the traffic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone.

Peppers Silo is a terrific, well-run hotel in a fantastic riverside location. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the whole property feels clean, modern, and thoughtfully managed. The real standout is the staff. The beating heart of this hotel is its people. especially Pavvan Srivastav, the Front Office Manager. He was professional, warm, and genuinely welcoming. He set and mirrored the tone for excellent service across the entire team. A stay here is consistently smooth, friendly, and memorable. Strongly recommended. Would happily return.

Beautiful hotel converted from an old grain silo. While there is an add on building in the front, the silos are more prevalent in the back. You can really experience them in the rooms, with the rounded walls of exposed concrete. So cool. The rooms were spacious and we had a nice view of the river. Beds and pillows comfortable. We loved the shower. Two shower heads. Nice and hot. Shower had a door (no doors seem to be common in many places). Towels were super thick. We walked downtown once for breakfast which was about a 15-20 walk. We walked to the museum which was about the same. The start of the gorge trail near King's Bridge is about a mile walk. We did not pay for the underground parking and were able to find spots in the closest lot. They had a resident black lab which was fun to pet. They have restaurants but we did not try them. Housekeeping came daily. We loved this stay.

A new hotel located in a refurbished former grain silo near the river in Launceston, Tasmania. While we only stayed 1 night, I was wishing for a longer stay given the friendly staff, fantastic breakfast and clever, unique room. We were in a deluxe king, 710 which was such a cool room. Each of the former grain silo towers has been split in Half to form two very large rooms with curved concrete walls. They've also cut windows into the side with a beautiful view of the Tamar river. We enjoyed watching all tHe rowing club boats going past eArly in the day. Opposite the silo rooms is a standard wing with more traditional shaped rooms. Opened only since mid 2018, it stills feel new and certainly has all that you want as it relates to features like bedside power/USB ports, modern rain shower shower head, modern furnishings, comfy bed and pillows (sleep great!) lots of space and more. There's an on-site bar as well as a nice restaurant. Just off the lobby there's a beautiful crushed gravel walking track for short or long walks. It's even possible to follow it all the way to cataract gorge-45 min each way. I was also very impressed by the friendly service at the Front desk and restaurant. Speaking of food, the breakfast buffet is very substantial with cook to order eggs and pAncakes and much more. If you book breakfast when you check in it's only $AUD 22 vs 29 day of at the restaurant and well worth the price. Finally, the hotel has a resident black lab named Archy-and you can take him for walKs if you are missing your own pooch. Bottom line-it's all good. Highly recommended.
