Peppo al Cosimato

One of the best restaurants we went to. Octopus salad, anchovy pasta, mushroom pizza were all well made. The staff absolutely love children and made us an extra pizza in the shape of a butterfly. No service charge, No lineups, lots of tables.

The food here is incredible! 🍕 Our pizza came out fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. I was so full but couldn’t stop eating—it was that good. Even my husband, who usually goes light on tomato sauce, was fighting me for the last slice 😭 The wine selection was also top notch 🍷 Our table tried both a red and a white, and not only were they fantastic, but our server took the time to walk us through the choices. I actually left feeling like I’d learned more about wine, which made the experience even more memorable ☺️ The atmosphere does lean loud. We noticed staff making the rounds to keep some larger tables in check so everyone could enjoy themselves. It definitely has a classy vibe overall, but when the restaurant gets busy, the energy can turn a bit rowdy 👀 All of that said, between the food, wine, and service, Peppo al Cosimato is a spot I’d highly recommend in Trastevere 🇮🇹 Would definitely return if I got the chance! ✅

Came here with our food tour to try the Pasta and Pizza. Everything was amazing. The pasta sauce was so delicious, and the pizza was incredible. I recommend coming here to anyone. We only got sample sizes because we made a lot of stops, but i am going to come back for sure and fill up on a huge bowl of Pasta.

We were strolling around the Trastevere neighborhood and we found this amazing place where we had an aperitivo. I must admit at first we were hesitant to give it a try and luckily it turned out very well. Their staff was very accommodating and the guy who took our order was very kind. We ordered the plate of mixed fried seafood (yum!) for sharing and some of their supplìs. We also asked for drinks which they made for us. Everything exceeded our expectations! We'll sure be back for a dinner next time to try their pizza. Highly recommended if you're around that area 👌🏼

The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, making me feel truly cared for. The service was exceptional, attentive and Friendly staff, excellent service, and tasty food. It met my expectations—I ordered the Carbonara, and the chef prepared it just as beautifully as his signature. Really yummy and delicious.

The food is amazing, they have a special tiramisu with their own recipe, it is not so watery but more creamy. It is amazing. Great place to try Italian food!

We ordered the “ peppo capricciosa “, and we really enjoyed it! We had a great experience as we loved the food, the service was good and the atmosphere is wonderful. I really recommend this place!

Fantastic local Italian place with a seafood twist in a trendy neighborhood. I visited on a tuesday evening at seven pm, which is the beginning of their dinner time. The two of us shared four dishes. Octopus salad, pizza with anchovies, pasta with muscles and pepperoni cheese, and suppli. All of them were delicious. We especially enjoyed the octopus salad, which was very tender and perfectly seasoned. The pasta was also unique, something I have not seen offered at other restaurants. The pizza was fantastic, but the anchovies were a bit salty as expected. Sitting inside is abundant despite its exterior. Vibe is family oriented and romantic, and staff are very kind and friendly. I enjoyed dining there as the staff seemed to genuinely enjoy working together. I will definitely be back here on my next visit to Rome.

AMAZING pizza and Wine! Reasonable prices! We had the Naples pizza and the Suppli! The bruschetta appetizer with anchovies is awesome

This place was amazing, from the pizza to the poor fishermen sandwich! My family recently went here to eat, the service was lovely and helpful, it had outdoor seating a quiet street for the area. The food was quick and delicious especially the anchovies on bread this was shockingly interesting and flavorful. I would highly recommend this place.

I enjoyed it. The pizza, suppli Roma, and drinks were very good. There was a large enough table for the 12 of us, and the waiter managed us pretty well. By the end, we split the bill 12 equal ways without difficulty. The outside was easily accessible for those who smoke. I saw parties seated upstairs. There was outdoor seating. The neighborhood was trendy and some places had lines for hours. We were happy with our selection.

Peppo and his entire staff welcomed me with exceptional warmth and care, the service was impeccable, the space is inviting, and the food was, oh, so good! I had the traditional Roman chicory and the pizza special with eggplant, red and yellow grape tomatoes, mozzarella, and fresh basil. A very special "Thank you!" goes to Alam, the master at the oven, who made my pizza. No doubt, I will be back again before I leave, and I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Rome.

This is pizza. Baked so the crust is a little black. Great cheese. Simple but complex Went for lunch and the service was outstanding. Give it a try

Really fantastic food and excellent, warm service. They were especially nice to our daughter who was very hungry after walking 10 miles during the day - they brought her pasta quickly and even offered her an extra bowl once she had finished the first! The pizza is excellent, as are the suppli and the bruschetta, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Highly recommend!

Excellent restaurant. Much better than the well known restaurants nearby. Great service, great pizza, and great seafood. Highly recommend.

Fantastic place for lunch or dinner. Definitely get the fried anchovies and also the fresh anchovies with burrata. Kids sized pizza is excellent value! My wife got the octopus salad which was fantastic, and I got the Margherita pizza which was one of the best I've had in all of Italy. The tiramusu dessert was amazing too! Draft beer tastes perfect on a sunny day. Definitely find time to come here. On top of everything, our service from Ella was fantastic. Great recommendation!

Peppo's is located in the Trastevere district and seems a million miles away from the busy tourist areas. This was our second visit and it didn't disappoint. We ordered Margareta and 4 brothers (cheese and pesto) pizzas. The pizzas are Neapolitan style which I personally prefer over thin crust Rome style and were delicious. We also had the cod starter, small pieces of cod battered and fried..equally good. We were there on a Thursday night and it was pretty busy. It was easy making a reservation from their web site and if you want a nice table outside it's best to make the reservation.

Are you a pizza lover like me?!? When in Roma do yourself a favor and go to Osteria Peppo! Too packed at night...no problem! Go for lunch- pizza dream!

Great pizza. This is my kinda pizza. Great crust. Pipping hot. Nice wine selection. And they have a massive green salad.

Walked by this place on our way back to our apartment, and we picked up on the friendly and collegial neighborhood vibe. I picked up a business card, and we made a reservation for dinner the next night. When we arrived, they had our table outside reserved. We ordered wine, and since it was so hot, they brought out an ice "bucket" which as actually a plastic gift style bag--cute idea! The wine list has great variety and a range of prices. We ordered a more expensive bottle of Avellino, the best we have had so far! We had two bruschetta for antipasti: one mackerel and another with anchovies. Both were incredible!! We also had the octopus potato croquette which was everyone's favorite at the table. For dinner, we shared two pastas: one was green fettuccini with raw shrimp, and the other was spaghetti with octopus. The pastas were perfectly cooked with flavorful sauces. We also shared a Margherita pizza, which had an excellent crust and very flavorful cheese and basil. Our waiter, Simone, brought us some digestivo out for after dinner on the house! Very authentic experience, as the menu is in Italiano, but they have an English version you can download on your phone. We would go back!!

During our travels to and from our lodging, we passed by this place a few times. Tonight I was looking for something that didn't have tomatoes (kidding!)... Actually the risotto sounded good so we popped in after failing to find an open supermarket. It is a very charming place. Warm, inviting, and excellent food! I would have given it five stars but they don't take credit cards and the calamari was a but overlooked. Funny though, the rice was perfectly al dente. I finished with the crema catalana. It was so good! The top was perfectly brûléed.

This place is AWESOME !!! We were first treated to dinner here over a year ago by a friend of ours that lives in Rome. My wife is Italian and we are in Rome at least once or twice a year and Peppo has quickly become one of our favorites. This place has the best pizza around due to how they age the dough and the rest of the dishes are really great, from the exquisitely prepared pasta to the delicious variety of antipasti. Everything is really fresh and delicious. We have since been there for a few celebrations with some of our Italian friends who are difficult to please foodies like most Italians and they all gave it 2 big thumbs. Also, I have to mention that the owner Salvatore is the most gracious host you can possibly ask for. I can't forget to mention the superb selection of wines with expert recommendations. The service is beyond friendly and along with the great food creates an experience we will keep coming back for. Thank you Peppo and Salvatore! Continued success. P.S. I have gone to this restaurant several times over the past five years and for both lunch and dinner. It is off the beaten path, on a quiet square but centrally located in Trastevere. I have always had delicious fresh food, polite prompt service and fairly priced. My favorite place to eat in this charming section of Rome!
