So here is the thing about the Percé rock: About 70 years ago, a guy lends his car keys to his wife. She gets in, backs off the truck out of the driveway and slams the rear into what was then an unknown rock. Follows the tumble of about 100 000 000 lbs of rocks and therefore the freaking hole in the rock. Since then, millions of tourists have flocked to the said « Percé Rock » to celebrate precarious driving. There you go, that’s how a local self-taught geologist introduced me to the origins of the famous rock.! Besides that, people at Percé are nice and the food is good. Cheers ! The sincere truth and locals’ jokes apart, there is something special or magical about the Percé rock when you stand in front of it at sea level. It feels like a humbling force of nature. More to this, when exiting Percé northbound, do experiment the roads in the nearby hills; I had a blast riding them on my motorcycle !
