Google
A beautiful vineyard to visit in Gibbston! I visited on 31 July 2025 and did a wine tasting of 4 of their wines; Méthode Traditionelle NV, 2023 Chardonnay, 2022 Pinot Noir and 2016 Library Release Pinot Noir. I enjoyed all 4 wines, although the Méthode Traditionelle and 2016 Pinot Noir were the highlight for me I will highly recommend a visit to Peregrine Wines and I will surely be back to purchase their wines

We had a fantastic tasting at Peregrine Wines—warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable staff made the experience a standout. The building and barrel room were absolutely stunning, and the wines were exceptional—especially the Pinot Noir, which was a clear highlight.

Good selection of white wines if you are less into red wines and Pinot Noir. Very good rosé !

As usual, excellent customer service with wine tasting and explanation about all things wine. Free wine tasting if you buy 2 bottles.

Google
Great experience and an absolutely amazing venue, yes the tasting isn't cheap but was wiped when purchasing bottles. Bonus they do large format bottles too

peregrine is such a stunning wedding venue! As a wedding photographer, I believe that your wedding photos should reflect the feeling on the day and weddings I've captured at Peregrine always have a feeling of joy, relaxation and intimacy. The woodshed is like nothing else in Queenstown and the view will keep your guests in awe all day!

Google
Big name winery, but wines weren't anything too special and pour sizes are very stingy. $30 for your choice of 4 wines. The pour sizes were 30 ml or less, could barely get a good taste of the wines. Was done in about 10 mins. Small standing only tasting room that serves 2 groups or individuals at a time so best to make a reservation

Google
Lovely cellar door with curated pre booked experienced for people who like a more personal touch. Personally found the pours to be more then generous and we liked most of the wines! The method traditionelle sparkling, chardonnay and all the pinot noirs were particular favourites! Like all the reviewers said, your wine tasting is refunded on the purchase of 2 bottles of wine.

Yelp
Made an appointment here a couple of months ago to bring my mother and American boyfriend and was very excited to try the wines here but it was a really disappointing experience. We weren't made to feel welcome by the tasting person and she rushed us through the tastings without much info about the wines or the farms they came from. The tastings were $30NZ each and while we don't mind paying that price (and happily have for others), between the tiny pours from only three wines and the poor service we felt pretty ripped off. The wine was fine and we did buy a bottle of Riesling but we definitely had better in the Gibbston area. The peregrine tasting room is in a beautiful location but you'd never know it because there are no windows inside the room to showcase the incredible views. All in all, recommend skipping and hitting Kinross up the road instead.

Yelp
We visited Peregrine as one of the final stops on our 2019 visit to the South Island, and were impressed by both the wine and the knowledgeability of the staff. The winery is located off Highway 6 in the Gibbston Valley, and is an easy 20-minute drive east of the Queenstown airport (in fact, we visited on our way to catch a flight home). The winery itself is a striking design with a swooping roof that mimics a falcon's wingspan. The Cellar Door is literally in the cellar, and visitors can turn around from the translucent glass bar visitors to admire a concrete vault of wine barrels. The wine is good, including classic Central Otago pinot noir. They also made a remarkable dry riesling that moved us to purchase a bottle -- one of only two we purchased on our trip (the other was a bottle of champers from Cloudy Bay). What was really distinctive about our visit was the staff's expertise. Our host spoke knowledgeably about each wine, and offered a great deal of insight into the differences in the micro-terroir of the winery's vineyards. We know just enough about wine to know we have a lot more to learn, and we enjoyed the tutorial immensely. Even if you are just on a quick trip to Queenstown, Peregrine is close enough to put it within range for a quick visit. We recommend making the effort.

Yelp
Outstanding wine, scenic location, and knowledgeable, helpful staff. For such a large, modern facility, I was surprised how small the tasting room was, with the majority of space seeming to go to a very inefficient storage of barrels.

Yelp
We arrive to stunning grounds. After briefly touring several ancient out buildings, we made our way into a beautiful and intimate tasting room. Friendly and welcoming staff made us and our kids at home while enjoying delicious tastings. The Pinot Noir was spectacular, but we left with bottles of Sav Blanc and Pinot Gris. Didn't see that coming! Also didn't see coming: dinosaurs in the wine storage! While I can't assume this is common place, it played strongly to their playful culture and fun ambiance.

Yelp
Well rated winery not too far from queenstown central. Awesome staff - knowledgeable and attentive. Tastings are also free (can taste 4 from a selection they have available), which we did not anticipate, so was a nice surprise. However not a huge fan of the wines here - we tried all the Pinots they had available for tasting and only liked one (but not enough to buy). The tasting room is also relatively small so could get crowded quick.
