Perez Galdos House Museum

Absolute value for money, we thought we were paying a small price to allow us into the cathedral however there was so much more to see, so much more to keep you interested. There are lifts and ramps installed within however the top of the cathedral belltower is only accessible via a staircase, albeit the lift takes you to the rooftops where again there are ramps installed to allow wheelchair users etc freedom of movement. That being said; there is no room for a wheelchair to manoeuvre up around the belltower as two people cannot pass each other in some places so don't be disheartened. There are toilets but no café, it's not that kind of attraction. The views around from the windows and rooftop are spectacular, taking in the ocean/marina & port then over the city and the old town and hills and back to the ocean. There is a gift shop on exiting the attraction if you wish to purchase anything and like most places in Spain, Google & Apple pay/card payments are widely accepted on the vast majority of places, taxi and bus included. Vegueta has so much to offer. Not just this experience so take a day out and enjoy the culture.

Nice free museum about a very important Spanish author's life, in the house he lived while young. The house itself is really nice and the ground floor has some explanations. I managed to get a guided tour, which was even better. I did hear it might close partially for refurbishment soon, so check what/if it's open.

Really interesting view of his life and the opportunity to visit an old Canarian house. The guide was delightful and took time to answer everyone's questions. All the staff were friendly. You can only go round with a guide but entrance to the house, exhibition and the guided tour are all FREE!

Really interesting museum, and the guided tour is definitely worth doing - loved finding out so much about Perez Galdos, and seeing his wonderful drawings too.

We had a fantastic guide who spoke perfect Spanish and English. She was very knowledgeable and engaging. The house is beautiful and very well kept.

Excellent reproduction of the homes of Benito Perez Galdós from the 19th century. Includes representations of rooms from his Santander house and a copy of the famous painting of him by Sorolla. The exhibitions in the museum are only in Spanish, but the tour is given in both Spanish and English. The tour guide was very informative, and gets extra marks for having been reading one of Galdós' books when we arrived... Entry is free the first weekend of each month, but anyway, the small entrance fee is worth paying.

Interesting artist and his life/ unfortunately my translator couldn't work because of the internet / and it's also extra to go into the main living quarters (€12)
