Periscope Hotel

The two ladies at reception were amazingly helpful and kind. The bed wasn't the best but not the worst. We were upgraded to a larger city view room and it was a good size for four nights. The breakfast is continental style but the free water, snacks, and soda all day was a game changer. Also there are other places nearby for a hot breakfast. You are up a slight hill from downtown but I would stay here again, definitely.

This is a small, modern boutique hotel that maintains an affiliation with the Marriott chain. It was a good choice in Athens.|SERVICE: I didn't encounter bad service anywhere in Greece. Service was proactive and helpful, with the front desk staff readily offering suggestions both about the room and sightseeing. My status with Marriott was recognized, including an appreciated welcome gift (candies) but the hotel was full, so an upgrade wasn't possible (but also I didn't expect one).|ROOM: My room on the fourth floor was modern (lots of white and clean lines) though without a view. The silver lining was very little street noise. |The bathroom was a single room with toilet and walk-in shower, and was spacious and again, modern. Very nice toiletries provided.|FOOD: I did not eat meals at the hotel, but after breakfast, various complimentary snacks were placed in dining area at all times, including water, soda, some nut or fruit candies, pastries and small sandwiches.|WIFI: No issues|LOCATION AND SIGHTS: The hotel is downtown, about 10 minute's walk uphill from the Evagelismos metro station. The streets involve stairs, if you have a lot of luggage, you need to be agile, or take a cab.|The neighborhood, Kolonaki, might remind New Yorkers of the Upper East Side. It's posh, enough off the main drag to be quiet, but not that far out of the action. Several museums are nearby, you could walk to the Plaka and Parthenon in about 25 pleasant minutes, I liked the situation.

Great place to stay while in Athens. Small boutique hotel and very intimate yet accommodating. Quiet yet within walking distance of really good restaurants and shopping. We would stay here again if we come back.

In June of 2024, we stayed for a week at the Periscope Hotel in the Kolonaki section of Athens, Greece. The Hotel is in a great location just a few blocks from a Metro Station, in a quite area with lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. It is a boutique style hotel so it is small but very clean and beautiful. They have a wonderful breakfast buffet that converts to a 24 hour complementary snack bar which was a fantastic bonus. Our room was very nice, clean and had a sliding glass door that gave the room lots of natural light. Nikos is the manager and was always concerned that everything was perfect for our stay. The the hotel staff includes Anastasia, Nelli and Diana. They are a very profession staff, yet they were also very nice, friendly and helpful. Whether we needed directions, restaurant suggestions or just a quick question, they were always happy to assist. They will go out of their way to make sure that you are comfortable and that you have a memorable stay in Athens. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone planning a stay in Athens Greece.

Our stay at the Periscope hotel in Athens was very good. It is a small hotel with comfortably functional rooms. Though located in a very nice residential area away from the Plaka the neighbourhood is buzzing with very nice restaurants and bars - Zurbaran, Chez Michel etc. The hotel lobby is cosy and welcoming. What they lack in terms of in-room amenities they more than make up in the lobby amenities. They have coffee, tea , small snacks, cold drinks and water laid out at all times. To come back from the heat and to be able to help yourself to some cold refreshments is a pleasant touch. The highlight of our stay there was the amazing service we got from two of the lobby staff Thanos and Diana. Both of them not only went out of their way to assist us in every manner but also took a lot of interest in ensuring that we did everything to maximise or stay in Athens. From restaurant, food , shopping recommendation to organising our sightseeing and to taking care of our luggage - They were always on hand. Wish all hotels had enthusiastic and passionate staff like them. Would surely recommend this hotel.

What a wonderful hotel and staff. This was our first time to Athens and we found this property through Bonvoy, and booked it after reading other TripAdvisor reviews. We were not disappointed. We loved the location and the extremely friendly and helpful staff. We will be back!

Had a great stay at Periscope. Very clean; great location; comfortable bed and super helpful staff. Everyone was so nice but have to give an extra shout out to Anasthasia and Nellie. These ladies went out of their way to answer all of our questions and provide recommendations etc. For sure the rooms are very minimalist (bare) so if you like plush furniture this is not for you but we loved it and would stay again.

The best location in Athens. Our upgrade room was fairly basic, the service was excellent and the free snacks came in handy. Front desk staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I would definitely return to this hotel for location.thanks
