Having read other reviews, we went prepared! The room was very clean & spacious for my hubby, teen daughter & myself with 2 beds. Air con, fan, safe & mini fridge, which was great. I brought facecloths, a hand towel & conditioner etc that they don’t provide. If you need it, just bring it. We didn’t bother leaving a deposit for a tv remote, as the front desk explained there were few English channels. There were many wifi links, which worked better depending on where you were in the hotel. All use the same password which made it easy. Overall, the wifi was excellent. The pool was super cold, but the general weather there in January was pretty chilly of about +15C in the day. Tons of restaurants & bars nearby to chose from. We used the free breakfast several times, & just upgraded it to get more. We never had a problem with the limited parking, as the valet did an amazing job of moving the cars around so we never waited long to get ours. Yes it’s loud at night, you are on the Malecon (party zone) & not the hotel’s fault. We all slept with ear buds! Staff was great!

We came to this hotel as the price/location ratio was the best of the ones we looked at. I have to say the location is amazing, right in the middle of all the attractions, bars and restaurants. The hotel itself looks and feel old. The rooms and general areas are clean and tidy, but everything seems like it hasn't been moved since 1991. If you want fair prices and to stay in the heart of La Paz, this is a nice place to stay at.

Absolutely great location. Rooms are simple but that was fine considering the location. Beds were comfortable. Staff was very friendly, parking tight but they park your car. Restaurant was next door, got our pot of coffee from them before we went there for breakfast. Beautiful view from restaurant. Good food. Great walking around town. There is an illusion that you think you are on the Pacific side, due to the bay. We plan to visit here again.

Our original trip was to Cabo, then we rented a car and drove 2 hours to La Paz for an overnight stay. We stayed at Hotel Perla and it was perfect for us. It's right on the main road of La Paz and our room overlooked the Malecon and ocean and had a small balcony which was lovely. We arrived and parked in the small parking lot. After checking in, the parking lot attendant took our car to a safe parking area. We even had to leave bright and early (5:30am) the next day and the attendant was there available to bring our car to us. Check in was very easy and the front desk were extremely nice and kept our luggage for us while we adventured out and until our room was ready. The room was extremely comfortable. The A/C ran cool and the bed was firm. It was also quiet but a curfew of 9p.m. was in place at the time we were there due to Covid. There is a restaurant attached with delicious food and a convenience store on the next block. There are plenty of shopping and points of interest to see around the hotel. The hotel has been around quite a while and has a nostalgic charm to it. If you want to stay at a high end resort, that's down the street away from everything and you'll have to drive to experience the charm of La Paz. If you want to step out of your hotel into the charm that is La Paz, this place is for you.

This hotel has unique charm with hand painted details. Yes, it's dated but it's got a great location and is clean. The front desk staff are charming. This is a bargain for a delightful old hotel. ||We stayed here for easy access to swimming with the whale sharks. Were delayed going out so found out the hotel offers half price to extend your stay until 8 PM. Good to know.

Stayed here 3 nights. The hotel staff is all very welcoming. The rooms are basic and clean. The location is great for walking everywhere. Rooms have AC and it works very well. They also have secure parking. Not a guarantee during carnaval but on most days they will have parking for you. I like the Hotel Perla. Don't come here if you want to be weighted on hand and foot. Come here if you want a nice room, parking, a very nice restaurant and perfect location.

Decent prices and great location. Weird layout for views but nice terrace with recliners looking at the bay and Boardwalk. Rooms are typical basic old Motel 6 style nothing fancy but clean with good AC. The doors are not insulated so minimal privacy for sound. Free breakfast is toast, butter, jelly, coffee and juice. Restaurant has a good menu though

This is an older property, but it is well maintained and the staff is very courteous. It is the location of this Hotel that is special--it is right in the heart of town and overlooks the Malecon and the water. ||Rooms have a refrigerator, hairdryer, and a safe which is good. Air conditioning works well. Showers are large.||Plan your stay at Hotel Perla if you want to have a great central base from which you can explore La Paz.

Yelp
Hotel is nice. It has a pool and water slide and 2 jacuzzis. Warning way to hotel is by stairs not sure why they did that maybe there is another way up to reception rooms are spacious. Good water in the shower. Towels are not soft. Beds are comfortable. Ac is ok nice little balconies. Shampoo and bar soap in the bathroom smell good. Continental bfast is a joke. It's juice coffee and toast. The jams good but attracts bees. It's papaya pina and I actually hate booth fruits and I liked it a lot go figure lol. I'd stay here again for sure. Right on the malicon. Oh don't use there tours cheaper tours just walking along the boardwalk. And they were amazing.

Yelp
I love this old hotel. For me it is the place to stay in La Paz. Established in the early 1940's, they have kept the classic elegance of the era while maintaining the quality of the experience. Best of all is location here on the Malecon. Views are fantastic, breezes from the bay refreshing and the gestalt is invigorating. Downside is slow internet Reasonably priced

Yelp
Only gave one star because I had to spend the night there only bcuz I had already paid for it. Outside shows a nice hotel, I was told my room had a beach view but I got more of the view of the top of the hotel. I waited 4 hrs for my room to be ready and it was still a mess, the floor could of been better cleaned. Little refrigerator didn't work and also started leaking which left with a floor full of water. The jacuzzi can't be used, only if you have an appointment ‍

Yelp
I stayed here on my first trip to La Paz over Halloween weekend to be close to the Mallecon and the nightlife scene. Really close to all the downtown fun. Very comfortable with a nice pool and balcony with comfortable seats to watch the glorious sunsets. My room was okay and I'm sure they had nicer rooms. I booked on a travel site and the price was very reasonable. It's just a classic Mexican hotel.

Yelp
Amended review. After spending a few evenings here, a few dinners and lunches, i asked the manager to call a taxi for me. He refused to do so. All the wait staff stepped backwards in his suppport. The Mexican Chinga. Pay for what you get. expect nothing more.

Yelp
Nice hotel, rooms big and feel clean. When we arrive everything was unplugged- a lamp that you can turn off or on so you had to unplug it. The refrigerator and tv. In the middle of the night a motorized grinding noise came from one side of the room. We unplugged the refrigerator but it ending up being the TV with no remote. Hopefully breakfast will be nice. Breakfast was a nice restaurant below the hotel with views of the water. You get coffee, fresh OJ, & toast.

Yelp
Quaint historic yet affordable hotel right on the Malecon and close to restaurants and shopping. Clean, fairly quiet, with good hot water in the shower and a comfy bed. The hotel's attached restaurant is adequate for breakfast, especially with the coupon for a free continental breakfast with paid lodging. We were on the third floor on a Saturday night and found that ear plugs were a help - street noise from all the partying vacationers was enough to keep us awake without them. Nice stay!

Yelp
Love this place! Ocean front view from our room. We felt very safe here. The room was clean and minimal. The staff was very nice and welcoming. Everything is walking distance so everything we needed was right here! Reasonably priced too. 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
This casual old school restaurant on the Malicon beach front in La Paz is a favorite of affluent and influential locals. Businessmen, retired geezers, politicians, housewives all eat here to see and be seen while enjoying a view of the harbor. Fantastic breakfast. Try the Machaca con Huevos (shredded beef fried up with eggs) with flour tortillas (tortillas harina), coffee and fresh orange juice. When I was eating here the other day I watched 3 American tourists eat bowls of corn flakes with bananas and milk while all around them were Mexicans eating eggs, chilaquiles, machaca and tortillas. Don't be that American tourist.
