Permai Rainforest Resort

This was an amazing stay. We decided to spend our Valentine’s Day at this resort. Believe it or not, everything was being handled very smoothly. Hafiz from sales helped us to arrange everything from the room till the romantic dinner setup prior to our arrival. He even advised me on the tidal restrictions for the dinner setup at the beach side. At the moment of dinner, he even liased with the chef to bring in the food on time (not too early, too late) for the great experience. Pls check on the pics I shared for the better experience. The facilities are at the peak. They had a jungle pool using spring water which is God level. Everything was perfect and worth the price. Definitely recommended.

Interesting place to go. Unfortunately my group went there at a wrong timing (raining season) so the sea & sky aren't blue enough to take aesthetic photos but still the scene is amazing. There are wild animals like monkeys, squirrels to see even though we didnt go to jungle trekking, they will spawn at lobby & also the tree near restaurant. Last but not least, the food & service are all good.

Our family of 4 had a perfect 3-night stay here at Permai. The cabins (which are super spacious and comfortable) are well spaced out amongst the beautiful big rainforest trees. We saw monkeys every day (3 different kinds). The hikes are magnificent - you'll need some fitness for the longer ones, but they're well worth the effort. The open-air cafe is fabulous any time of the day. If you want a perfectly sanitized/manicured resort without connection to nature, this place isn't for you (I think you'll find options just down the road).

This place is the closest you get to both green nature and beach. Its very calming, the nature's music will dooze u off to sleep easily. The beach is great. But we dint get to see much sun due to the raining season. But we had fun playing with the waves. Although i dont recommend elderlies as the walk from reception to rooms require you to walk up and downhill. The walk may be slippery so best you wear appropriate shoes/sandals. Its close to the sarawak cultural village, abit far from nearest town. Tips..make sure u get everything you need before u leave the car or the room. We stayed in villa no 6, its uphill..☺️☺️

I am not sure how this place has 4 stars; our time must have been just very unlucky however I thought I should share our experience. The resort touts that it is eco-friendly, I am all for that, but I do not think it is acceptable for the staff to let the squirrels take food from the breakfast buffet. Also, eco is not an excuse for poor maintenance, and poor hygiene of restaurant tables, they could and should be cleaned after every customer.||Housekeeping: we asked reception to have our bed linen changed and roomed cleaned since we were booked for 4 nights. We also put the sign on the bed requesting the linen to be changed. Upon returning to our room the bed had been re made however the linen was not, the dirty dishes were left on the table and the floors upswept.| |We had booked for 4 nights, we only stayed for 3!||There are some positives, staying in the rainforest is lovely, you will regularly see monkeys, and it is very peaceful.

We are regular visitors to Asia and are pretty easy going, but we were disappointed on our arrival here, and actually cut our stay short. |We stayed in a Premium Treehouse expecting great sea views and direct access to the water, but this wasn’t the case. We could have been anywhere as our view was so obstructed by the trees you could barely see the sea. |We were allowed an early check in which was appreciated.|‘Eco’ here seems to be an excuse for lack of maintenance, cleanliness and facilities. |The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water, and the ac worked well.|We did not like that the facilities i.e. trails, beach and pool are open to the public during the day, so any peace and quiet can easily be taken over by day visitors.|Cleanliness and the restaurant offerings for breakfast definitely need improvement.|Sydney was an asset to the resort, as she was very helpful and efficient.|Such a shame as there's such potential here as the location in the rainforest is beautiful, but it really was lacking.

Perfect place for weekend getaway. Blend in with nature and enjoy your peaceful moment. Here you can get the joy of both beach and jungle in one location. I prefer the jungle /nature pool which i can bring my kids to swim without worries. Affordable entrance fee, u can rent water rides too. Food sold here also nice and many to choose. Worth place to go.

The tree house was ok and cool but pretty basic for the price. We did learn to book on Agoda or Trip.com, etc, as there is a surcharge. Hiking trails were nice, but the blue hole is just a waist deep spot in a creek. The staff are wonderful and the ocean view is relaxing. Great stay, and I'll go back but not for 100+ USD.
