Perry Hotel

Really lovely, stately historic hotel. Really light-filled comfortable room. Loved having breakfast overlooking the lake from the main dining room. Lovely staff! And nice amenities. We stayed on the 4th floor and had a nice view of the lake.

I enjoyed three nights as well as three wonderful breakfasts. I was in room 402, which has been renovated since my last visit. Heat control is good and the room has a working gas fireplace. Also the room has a nice porch with a view of the Bay. I chose to include breakfast and found it to be tasty, with real maple syrup. The bed was good and a bit high. The service from everyone was great. I brought my bicycle into my room without any trouble. I noticed minor smoke from Canada that made the sunset a bit red.

We truly enjoyed our time at this beautifully restored piece of history. The Perry Hotel is truly one of the last iconic hotels where we can experience the splendor, grandeur and slower pace of days gone by while enjoying the magic of Lake Michigan. The staff was wonderful, each adding a delightful lightness and often an international flare to our stay. The flowerbeds were ablaze with color and pristine. We will be back. Thank you for our fond memories.

This review could easily be 500 words if I list all the things I enjoyed about our visit. The location can't be beat. The lobby is simply beautiful. The landscspe is filled with a wide variety of pretty flowers. However none of this is the reason for my review. Being a retired food service professional I cannot stop myself as a patron from judging a dining room, the food quality and the service. Let me say this, I have not been this impressed in decades. Every detail throughout our two morning breakfast meals were spot on. Both servers were friendly, very quick with our meals and with follow up visits to our table. The real highlight was a diningroom staff member named Mark. If you manage people and need to be reminded what incredible work ethics look like stop in, grab a booth and just watch. My wife and I were told Mark has been working there for 42 years. Amazing!! Treat yourself to a wonderful meal, fantastic service and enjoy dining like it was meant to be. You will not be disappointed.

It's historic and you pay for that. The rooms are clean and nice, however you have to realize with the age of the hotel some things may be a bit lacking. The central air struggles, but a fan is provided in each room. Perhaps I'm spoiled, but the TV was so small I barely noticed it in the room. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

We had a truly wonderful stay at the Perry Hotel as a family of four (with two young kids). The rooms were phenomenal—spacious, elegant, and filled with thoughtful details. I especially loved the luxurious scent of the lotion (I couldn’t resist buying some to take home!). Breakfast was charming each morning, with delicious options in a cozy setting. The hotel’s location couldn’t be better—right in the heart of Petoskey’s beautiful shopping district and just a short, scenic walk from the lake. A perfect blend of comfort, character, and convenience. Absolutely outstanding!! We can’t wait to return!

Our room was impeccably clean and beautifully decorated. Our room was on the 4th floor facing the park. The hotel is within one block walking distance of the downtown shopping area. The hotel restaurant food was good. The staff were kind and accommodating. We appreciated the two extra pillows already provided in the room. Though there was a refrigerator in the room, there was not a microwave. Not an issue for us, just mentioning for informational purposes.

My wife and I recently stayed at The Perry Hotel in Petoskey for a wedding, and it was a truly fantastic experience! From the moment we checked in, the front desk staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable, providing a perfect place to relax after the day's activities. The wedding and reception held at the hotel were amazing! Beyond the event, we enjoyed the hotel's charm. The Perry Hotel has many historic gems, like the cozy library filled with antique books. Also, the surrounding area is ideal for walking, offering a chance to get outside and enjoy nature (Bear River Trail is great). Overall, my stay at The Perry Hotel was a delight, and I highly recommend it!
