The lobby, hallways, room, restaurants and bathrooms all looked clean and smelled clean. I didn't smell anything; neither cleaning chemicals nor cover-up smells. The room was quiet. The hotel is classically old but the carpet, bed, furnishings and paint were all new. Although some hotels put a fresh layer of paint over the old crappy paint, the updates here have been done with some class, pride and professionalism. The layout is a bit quirky, but the alcoves and tasteful memorabilia are well placed. The views of the bay at breakfast time are great. Downtown restaurants and bars are within walking distance, and there's a walking trail across the street.

Stayed at Staffords Perry Hotel for 2 nights and had a wonderful experience. Since my last visit on a skiing trip.with the family in the 1990's when we stayed at the hotel, the hotel had gone through a total restoration to its original Victorian charming ambience. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was excellent (fantastic comfortable bed) and our breakfasts both mornings was excellent. The view from the dining room was exceptional (try and get a booth). From the front veranda you enter into a beautiful drawing room with a wonderful fireplace, and then into a bar area and then the restaurant. The decor was perfect Victorian including the hotel's tin ceiling and period furniture and wall coverings. Extremely relaxing and perfectly situated in downtown Petoskey.

We had a great experience. From the minute we walked through the doors everyone we had contact with was wonderful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable beds. Beautiful views to top off our stay.

An upscale stay with an attentive and professional staff. A great location central to a park and a couple of great pubs. Had a good night rest before hitting the slopes again the next day.

We stayed 2 nights in room 409. This is a lovely, historic hotel. We had a balcony with a view of the bay. The room had bottled water and nice basic toiletries. The bath towels were huge bath sheets.||The best part of the hotel was its proximity to the shops and restaurants. Literally just steps away!! Be sure to visit Grandpa Shorters and Meyer's hardware (ask them to show you the separator!)||You get a $25 voucher to use on breakfast, which just about covers 2 people. The food was delicious. Parking is free but does fill up on busy weekends.||While I loved our room inside, it was right across from the housekeeping room and quite noisy at times.||Be sure to check out the 4th floor library!!

This is a gorgeous, well-maintained historic property that takes you back to a simpler, elegant time. Plenty to do in Petoskey and beyond, but nothing surpasses just being anywhere in the hotel soaking in the ambiance of every unique area it offers, but especially sitting in front of the lobby fireplace or on the front porch reading or just people-watching.||||Our last trip was about my 22nd visit and I’m already looking forward to my next stay.

My wife and I have been vacationing at The Perry since 2014. I proposed to my wife there in 2016. We love the Petoskey area and the hotel has quite a bit of sentimental value to us, so I did not want to write a review like this. There is absolutely no way to justify the massive price increases over the past few years. Unless you are a avid skier and head up north during the winter, I cannot justify paying what they are asking. A few years ago, summer rates for their King rooms were ~$300 a night. They're now over $500. The going rate for their economy room is now what they used to charge for their best. We're doing well but this is absurd. If you're heading up during summer, you'll need to decide if the location downtown is the worth the grotesque pricing.

My husband and I will always hold the Perry Hotel near and dear to our hearts. ❤️ We had our wedding reception here 2 years ago and they took such good care of us. It was an incredible experience all the way from the planning through the actual event itself. We are now here for our 2nd year anniversary and it is just as cozy, lovely, and romantic as it was then. They have such kind service, and we love every moment. We’ll be here for future anniversaries to come 💕
