This May Be the Most Charming Town in Jackson Hole

"A neighborhood coffee and pastry shop north of downtown prized for its baked goods; the kouign amann is a staff favorite, the chocolate chip cookies travel well as souvenirs, and the granola is highly recommended." - Lydia Mansel Lydia Mansel Lydia Mansel is a writer with more than eight years of experience editing and writing for both brands and online publications—with a particular focus on travel, fashion, and lifestyle. Google
Such a cute bakery/breakfast place. This was the strawberry rhubarb pastry. Our lattes were great! Was hungry and forgot to take pics of the breakfast sandwiches we got. I ordered the egg and ham croissant and it was tasty! Would go back again.

Persephone is a lovely place with beautiful decor. The service was good and the food was delicious. It’s a popular spot, so you might have to wait a bit for your coffee or meal, but it’s definitely worth it. I had a great experience and would gladly come back.

Google
Pure joy. Lovely seating inside and outside, quickly serving bar and kitchen, welcoming and professional personal. And food - is something you can’t miss if you in the area. Tasty, freshly made and truly delightful.

Google
Persephone is a gem! They have an amazing variety of pastries that are both delicious and beautifully made. Their breakfast options are fresh and full of flavor – perfect for a quick bite or a cozy meal. And the coffee? So good! You can tell they really care about quality here. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax, catch up with friends, or get some work done. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

Always such a Great Experience @ Persephone West Bank! Excellent Customer Service, Delectable eats & Comforting Atmosphere! Swanky neighborhood Bakery. Feels Antique ~ East Coast.

Google
This place was great. Kinda pricy, but that’s to be expected anywhere around Jackson Hole. The food was good, Beef and Cheese + Fries and some good rooibos tea.

Google
This place is so amazing. The food is delicious. I honestly don’t feel like delicious even is suitable to describe how good it is…maybe scrumptious. Everything is so fresh. The croissants are crunchy, flaky, but yet soft. The carrot cake bread is hearty and moist. The avocado toast is to perfection and the candied waffles with the citrus ricotta is something for royalty. We went back again today (2 days in a row), if that tells you how good it is. We got the ham and cheese on a baguette and the key lime croissant. Dare I say, we will be back again tomorrow. To find a place that is consistently extraordinary day after day is a rarity. Whether you are a local or passing through town, don’t pass this place without stopping in for a delectable treat.

Google
I’m ridiculously picky about coffee. This is probably the best cappuccino I’ve had in the US. Smooth and bold, no bitterness or tangy fruity flavor. Bought the coffee beans they use in store and just hoping mine (cappuccinos) come out somewhat close to theirs. Baked goods were excellent as well.

Yelp
Persephone in Wilson is a busy and very local location that Persephone bakery has. I ordered a Leige Waffle and Cold Brew. When I walked in the cafe was very busy. My waffle was delicious and tasted like summer. The blood orange mascarpone and mandarins played wonderfully with the mint and maple syrup; the cashews that added a nutty balance that beautifully tied together the dish. I thought the cold brew was good but I think it could have been bolder (I like strong coffee but that's just me). Overall I really enjoyed my breakfast and looking forward towards my next visit.

Yelp
This is a cute little franchise with an amazing menu. The service here was great. Highly recommend the egg sandwich with aioli and turmeric latte. It was so good we ate here two days in a row - pricy though.

Yelp
We were very excited to try this place, but the person taking our order was very rude to us and condescending. My wife asked for a latte with 2%. Understandably, they only had whole milk or skim. When my wife asked if they can just mix the skim with the whole milk, the employee said "no, we can't mix our milks." When I asked why they can't do that, she said "because it wouldn't be 2%." When I asked if she could just do it anyway, she said no again. This felt like she went out of her way to be rude, condescending, and unaccommodating. We don't care if it isn't the same as 2%. How easy would it have been for her just to pour both in the cup, especially when you're paying $8-$10 for a latte?! We ended up just putting half and half in the cup afterwards. This has been our only experience in Jackson so far where we have experienced unfriendly service. The breakfast sandwiches were just ok. Atmosphere was charming. Needless to say, we won't be back given the many other friendly options.

Yelp
Beautiful pastries including Kouign-amann, which I find rare around my part of the world. Quick efficient service for takeout.

Yelp
Mmm mmm mmm mouth watering pastries galore. They have a huge variety of different types of pastries for whatever mood you're in/whatever it is you're craving. We were just visiting the area but after coming here on our first day, we knew we had to come back every morning for the duration of our stay. You truly can't go wrong with anything you order. Our favorite though was the strawberry rhubarb pastry, lemon lavender pound cake, and their chocolate chip walnut cookies. They really nailed it with the flakiness on the strawberry rhubarb pastry and the fruit mixed in with the cream made it the perfect summer pastry. Their cookies were so good, we bought their mini packs of it to bring back for friends/family. We dined in for one of the mornings and it is a very modern, cute, chic place. The service was also pretty quick and we enjoyed our time there. We'll be back again for sure!

Yelp
We recently spent 10 days in MT and WY. This place was by far one of our favorites. I think of 4 days in Moose/Wilson we ate here or got coffee here 3 times. Amazing pastry bar, delicious menu items and they have a good local following and locals even have their own line!! So cool! Food comes out quickly especially considering how busy they get. We loved grabbing coffee to go and walking along the bike/foot path while we sipped!! There's not a bad thing here!! Decor inside is adorable and the bistro patio tables outside are cozy as well. Thank you Persephone staff!! I wanted the Liege waffle Friday and it was sold out so I came back Saturday before our flight and got to try it. Chefs kiss!!

Yelp
Simply the best way to start your day with a smile, and delicious baked flaky croissants and coffees. The location is just before Aspens in the Commons, on your way to Teton Village for a day of skiing at Jackson Hole. The staff is always pleasant and welcoming. Eager to help you start your day with smiles and some delicious treats. The shop has great seating, and is warm and inviting. If you come later in the morning you can be lucky enough to order an amazing sandwich on their fresh baguettes. Many days I come here for lunch to grab the delightful soups and a sandwich to go for the office. If you're heading out to ski, hike, bike, or work, make sure you plan on making a stop here to brighten your day. Cheers!

Yelp
Everything we tried here was phenomenal. From coffee drinks to scones to sit down breakfast. Perfect execution with a French inspiration.

Yelp
got to enjoy delicious food and coffee in a beautiful little cafe. So glad we made time to stop in on our way to the airport. Definitely one of those places that live up to the recommendations. Friendly staff helped served up all the yumminess
google avatar

Scott Samantha F.

Yelp
they have good coffee and good pastries. It's a nice atmosphere and nice to have this option in the area.

Alec M.

Yelp
Ordered the Croque Madame. Wasn't a CM. No bechamel, not pan toasted. Just day old bread that wasn't adequately reheated, so remained dry, and the cheese over top was barely melted and the egg was undercooked with some still runny whites. Unacceptable, tho the tomato jam was a nice touch. Baked goods looked nice, tho.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by during lunch hour. A line was out of the door. But it moved fast. We got a herbed chicken sandwich and beet ricotta salad. Herbed chicken was very tasty with tender chicken. Beet ricotta salad was with little gems, roasted beets, herbed maple ricotta, citrus & fresh herb vinaigrette, and pumpkin seed crumble, accompanied by slices of fresh bread, it was so yummy. The portion is on the light side. But it was perfect for a quick, yet delicious lunch. We also got their freshly baked multigrain loaf, cherry frangipane and strawberry avocado croissant to go. They were well made and delicious as well. The service was efficient and quick. The decoration is cute. The large outdoor patio has many seats, along E Broadway. So it can get quite noisy. Persephone is a perfect spot for breakfast or lunch in Jackson Hole.

Yelp
This place was highly recommended via social media and our hotel concierge. We arrived early morning and the inside was pretty small and filled up. The atmosphere is that of a European small bakery. For a breakfast croissant and a basic egg platter and 2 coffees it was a steep $48.00 bill. I will say the food was deliciously seasoned and the latte was to die for, it was just a little overpriced. The staff was friendly and you have an option of sitting outside with a fireplace and they provide blankets which is nice.
google avatar

Trish A.

Yelp
We got to sit outside and enjoy a great breakfast with family before heading into Grand Tetons. We are on our way home and this was best place we ate on our trip!
google avatar

Dee M.

Yelp
We got a mocha and a quiche for breakfast before a flight. The folks were super nice and helpful. This is a cute lil cafe with the view of the mountains. Our order got mixed up due to a misunderstanding and the folks at the cafe were kind enough to fix it swiftly. We'll be back to try more!

Yelp
This is the best breakfast and coffee in Jackson -- nothing else comes close. Whether you are sitting down at their location in Willis (Persephone Westbank) or at their prime spot downtown (much less seating) you will get incredibly baked goods and a wonderful menu for breakfast and lunch. The ingredients are high quality, fresh, and flavorful. Portions are spot-on for what you pay. And the coffee is just wonderful.

Yelp
As a Boston native staying nearby, Persephone Bakery was a wicked awesome find. We hit this place up multiple times, and every visit was a home run. The food? Fantastic!. We had the salmon and avocado bowl, the Basic Breakfast, a blueberry muffin, and avocado toast--each one did not disappoint. Absolute flavor bombs! The coffee? Just what you need to start the day. The outdoor seating? Perfect for a relaxing quiet breakfast and soaking in the vibes. The staff? Super nice, definitely not from Boston. ;) The place can get busy and the line can queue out the door, that's how you know it's good. It's a bit pricey, but hey, you get what you pay for. Totally worth it. If you find yourself in town, make sure to swing by Persephone Bakery. You will love it.
google avatar

Tana R.

Yelp
Super cute and almost artistry around all the baked items. Seating can be hard to come by inside. A must visit
google avatar

Mason R.

Yelp
Update: returned and got the morning glory muffin... AMAZING! Flavor, moisture and crust on point.
google avatar

Patty W.

Yelp
This bakery was amazing! Had daily espresso, egg sandwiches and snacks during our visit. My only reason for 4-STARS is because my egg sandwich had "soggy bacon" on it every day (3-days in a row). So did the quiche! It wasn't close to being crispy or cooked so just a gentle note - no soggy bacon please ;) Otherwise, incredible baked goods and espresso! xox

Yelp
Chic cafe with flaky pastries and a unique selection of hot beverages. My cappuccino was smooth and creamy, like a trip down the Milky Way. They also offer free butter packets which I thought was pretty nifty.
google avatar

Yelp
So good! Loooove this beautiful little cafe and the workers are so nice. It's just so cozy and charming in here. I love the gluten free gf raspberry muffin, and the latte with almond milk. Also ate breakfast/lunch here.
google avatar

Ellena K.

Yelp
Never disappoints! Food is always amazing and atmosphere is great. Highly recommend this location over the other for a less busy experience. Also recommend taking a bakery item for the road if you can

Shannon M.

Yelp
Amazing!!! Everything we tried was amazing....the pastries were to die for. And we also really enjoyed the coffee.

Michael M.

Yelp
Easy seating usually. Very clean and healthy looking food. Staff is wonderful. This place needs a wifi though.

Yelp
TLDR: Delicious and fresh food, huge mouthwatering pastries, and lovely atmosphere. Plus very kind service! This has become a go-to for me on my trip to Jackson. FOOD: I can tell that the food here is really high quality and fresh. Below are the things I've tried and what I recommend. PASTRIES - [HIGHLY RECOMMEND] Morning Bun (5/5): tastes like cinnamon toast crunch, somehow crispy on the outside and so soft on the inside, just enough cinnamon sugar on the outside, I loved it - Maple Walnut Scone (4.5/5): Maple frosting on the top is sweet and heavenly, perfectly balanced by the buttery scone and the walnut+cranberry accents throughout the scone - Cheddar Chive Scone (4.5/5): Completely savory scone with a delicious cheddar taste, like a rich, dense goldfish cracker. We loved it. - Croissant (4/5): Really solid croissants but wish it could have been a bit more flakey. Liked how it was crispy on the outside though - Chocolate Banana Bread (4/5): Delicious banana bread, and the chocolate frosting on top was unexpected but tasty. NON-PASTRIES - [HIGHLY RECOMMEND] Kale and Cauliflower Hash (5/5): Could not recommend more. As someone with a sweet tooth, it means a lot that I would say if I could only get 1 thing from Persephone it would be this. - [HIGHLY RECOMMEND] Egg Sandwich (5/5): Awesome sandwich on a croissant, we added avocado and they were generous with the avocado, which was creamy and added a great texture to the sandwich. - Avocado Salmon Bowl (4.5/5): Cooked smoked salmon with lentils, avocado, onions, toast, cucumbers/tomatoes, and lots of cheese (not too strong!) - Coconut Porridge (3/5): I think the only thing I wasn't as big of a fan of from Persephone, but that's because I couldn't get used to the coconut milk in the porridge. If you're a fan of that, ginger, and citrus zest, then you'll like this. It was probably exactly what I needed before skiing though -- lots of slow digesting carbs! ATMOSPHERE & ENVIRONMENT: - Cute, festive, cozy. Everything you could want from a local bakery / food spot. - Lots of seating around the edges of the room, not very busy from 7-8 am but gets busier later in the morning SERVICE: - You can pick up pastries right when you pay, but the food will be brought to your table once it's ready. Cutlery and water is on a self-serve basis (cutlery on the sides and water in the back) - All the staff are lovely and very nice OTHER: - They donate any leftovers from the day to a local organization which is awesome

Yelp
This is so my kinda place. Expensive - but delicious. They had tons of fresh-baked goodies on display and all looked wonderful. I tried a maple pumpkin bread, a scone, and a cinnamon bun over the few days we stayed nearby. They're nice to get and take as a snack after a long hike or day at the park. We tried the yogurt parfait, the kale and cauliflower and a scallion and cheese egg biscuit. Everything was delicious and this location is super cute and reminds me of a NYC or DC coffee shop bustling with people with nearby tables where you order at the front and seat yourself. Plenty of parking in the outside strip area and staff were friendly and helpful.

Sarah H.

Yelp
When I visit, Persephone is my daily stop each morning. You can't beat the pastries, and the coffee is amazing as well. The staff does a great job keeping things moving and fast service. The ambiance is fantastic. Comfy couches and even outdoor seating. I love dining in there.
google avatar

Sharon H.

Yelp
Following a recommendation from a local, we stopped here for breakfast. He told us the pastries and cookies are top notch. We got there at opening since we had early reservations in the park. First let me say it's expensive. My Midwest practicality made me cringe a bit at $35 for croissant, muffin and coffee. But the croissant was the best I have ever tasted. Flaky, buttery, and not too sweet. The coffee was good but not great. We took ours to go but the shop had an upscale European feel. Overall very good pastries in lovely surroundings.
google avatar

Angie C.

Yelp
This place is so cute! Stopped by here as we were passing through and it did not disappoint. We got the ham and cheese croissant which was amazing. We also tried the lemon pound cake and the hazelnut banana bread. The banana bread was the best I have ever had!

Jenn R.

Yelp
We have been coming here for years and it never disappoints. Everything on the menu is delicious. Service is always great. I look forward to coming every year for their cookies. Amazing!
google avatar

Karina R.

Yelp
I loved the sweet potatoes and brussels' sprout hash. It's so simple yet delicious. I added 2 eggs and an avocado to my order to make it more filling.
google avatar

Kaylea N.

Yelp
Best breakfast spot super close to Teton Village. Mimosas were phenomenal. Just the right amount of orange juice for some delicious champagne. Must get the yogurt and granola parfait! Service was speedy. The girls taking orders, as well as those serving the food were so kind and helpful! The ambiance was like a little piece of NY in WY.
google avatar

Nathaly L.

Yelp
Lovely well executed bakery/cafe. Grab a menu inside and once ready you will place your order at the counter. Then, grab your number and a table a server will bring you your food once ready. Good quality food.
google avatar

Andy C.

Yelp
Fantastic place. Bakery/cafe, and the Teton Village shuttle stops right in front. Great pastries and super convenient location. Comfortable seating, clean and quirky cafe decor, excellent restrooms. Had a takeout breakfast sandwich and also a full sit down breakfast. Their bacon is so good, lean enough, tasty and crispy. Coffee and croissants are great. Highly recommended if you're in the area.
google avatar

Rach S.

Yelp
We came here quite a bit for breakfast and pastries. The pastries were great. This bakery gets very busy but is is worth signing up for the rewards program. The food is pricey. We also got a few jams from here as well. The decor is very cute with lots of artwork on the walls. There is indoor and outdoor seating.
google avatar

Christopher T.

Yelp
I've been to the Downtown location a number of times (while in town) but this was my first visit to the WestBank location. Mountains of fresh bread and pastries are piled high, contributing to the charming decor. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. The Chickpea Shakshuka which I have had at the other location is not available here (or is simply no longer on the menu at either location.) The frittata might not be quite as seductive as the shakshuka but it wasn't a bad substitute. With cauliflower, swiss chard, caramelized onion, and cheddar, the unexpectedly light and fluffy eggs are complimented with a variety of flavors and textures. The whole dish is up-leveled with sliced radishes, micro greens, and an aioli made of Japanese mustard greens. It's an overall warm and homey experience and a nice break from the cold!
google avatar

Roxanne S.

Yelp
We stayed at an Airbnb around the corner from the bakery. We had breakfast here both days. They have a delicious menu. Lots to choose from. Really friendly staff. Very pretty inside. A great place to come grab a coffee, have some food, and enjoy some dessert.
google avatar

Rashad B.

Yelp
An awesome spot that is a walk away from your home, or Airbnb, that I would definitely recommend picking up some pastries either to-go or to eat in. Very pretty decor inside with accessories that you can buy. Nice place to sit and eat, not sure how suitable it is for working but you could probably do it with some noise cancelling headphones. I would definitely get the Nutella banana bread, and chocolate chip cookie again. The almond croissant was good but the Nutella Banana Bread was very memorable. Their tea is good as well!
google avatar

Joshua B.

Yelp
Worst location. No parking, nowhere to stand inside and the staff are not friendly. It took 30 minutes to have a latte come out. Everybody acts like you're a cancer. I'm sorry for existing and flying into your precious town and dropping major $$$. I guess that bothers people.
google avatar

Itai V.

Yelp
Wow. Everything is great. The pastries are all very fresh and made with high quality ingredients. Feels like a European patisserie more than a bakery in a small town in America. Such a great find
google avatar

Elise F.

Yelp
Such a cute bakery off of Moose Wilson Rd! A must stop for sure! Very nice decor, busy in the mornings with great fresh pastry selections. We tried the dark chocolate bundt cake (fabulous and moist, a chocolate lovers must try), Nutella banana bread, vanilla passion fruit bread, spinach and feta, lemon scone. Everything was fresh and delicious!
google avatar

Carrie O.

Yelp
This is one of those perfect places that has every single thing going for it. Don't get breakfast at your hotel. Come here. This vibe is fantastic. Beautiful decor. Staff are quick and efficient. Establishment is very clean. Now for the best part- the food. This pastry case and the breakfasts show why this place was a James Beard award finalist in 2020. Fantastic selection of pastries so do not leave with out getting four or more of something to go. Great breakfast sandwich. This place was not crowded on a Sunday morning at 9:00. Plenty of seating. They also have picnic sandwiches to go after 10:30 if you want to take lunch with you. Favorites: Kouign-amann, cinnamon brioche, pain au chocolate, breakfast sandwich with bacon.
google avatar

Kenneth S.

Yelp
This place was a type coffee shop. It was just ok for a quick bite. They only opened till 3 pm and they run out of some of the pastries early. The BLT sandwich I ordered was not what I expected. Fatty bacon and lettuce. Missing the tomato. The reason I give it a three star review is because the roast sandwich was okay. Maybe we were hungry
google avatar

Allie C.

Yelp
We had a great time here. The lavender honey latte was hands down the best latte I have ever had in my entire life!! I got the egg and bacon croissant with avocado and it was so flakey and delicious!! I wish we came here more during our visit. This location is absolutely stunning on the inside.
google avatar

Danielle B.

Yelp
Lovely breakfast spot to get you out of the hotel scene in Teton Village. The quiche was tasty and filling with a good portion size. The coffee seems to be a locals favorite based on the amount of guys waiting for to go drinks.

Sue C.

Yelp
We were staying near by, enjoyed pastries one day and delish breakfast sandwiches another day. Wonderful staff and charming atmosphere!

Eileen K.

Yelp
The croissant was so yummy I couldn't stop eating it. It is a cute place with lots of outdoor seating.

Phillip W.

Yelp
The online ordering is fantastic. Service is prompt. Everything here is delicious. Highly recommended.
