First, shame on me. I came once and had a bad experience, but decided to give it another shot a year or so later based on reviews. The whole experience was frustrating. I asked for a scissor cut, but the barber kept insisting on using clippers, despite me clearly saying NO several times. He kept asking “why?” after each answer, like I had to justify my choice. It felt pushy and uncomfortable. I should’ve walked out, but I caved and he ended up using clippers on the sides and back. To top it off, the actual scissor work was uneven, with a visible gap on top. The whole thing felt rushed. I was in and out in 15 minutes. Not acceptable for $65 plus tip. Really disappointing.

Google
Shawn gave me the best haircut I’ve ever had. Growing it out was such a long process that I was hesitant to let anyone touch it, but he listens, communicates, and is just really talented, bottom line. I found my new spot/ go-to guy!

Google
I’ve been to POI a number of times over several years and had pretty good cuts. But my recent cut was disappointing. Barber appeared intoxicated while she cut my hair and really beat my head up with the clippers and comb. She didn’t show me the back of my head after the cut, which is standard practice. And I see why after the fact. She left me with an uneven fade and with the back hairline cut too high. Overall a sloppy job and unpleasant experience; not worth $70. I’m giving three stars because in the past I’ve had good cuts here. - Edit: Shortly after posting this review. POI’s owner reached out to me and offered me a full refund. I think that’s pretty great and shows they care about their customers. Upping my rating for that alone.

Google
I went here because it had great reviews. The staff is indeed very friendly and the place looks cool. Unfortunately, when I went here for haircuts, both times the results weren’t what I hoped for although I gave specific instructions on how to cut my curly/wavy hair. However, after I shared my concerns, the owner reached out to me and he resolved the situation in a very professional and considerate manner, which I highly appreciated. I could therefore tell that they value customer satisfaction and try to make things right. So even tho I didn’t have the best experience haircut-wise, I was impressed by how well they handled the situation.

Google
Been going for over two years, on and off. Great shop, though I tend to stick to early mornings on the weekends or last time slots during the week, due to work. Staff is welcoming, atmosphere is warm, and most other clientele are friendly. Skilled stylists and I have to give a big shout out and recommendation for Mayu Yamaguchi. Definitely give this shop a shot.

Google
Kei was wonderful! Made me feel very comfortable as I’ve had the same person cut my hair for over 20 years. He did an amazing job and was a fantastic presence. Will definitely be going back when I need my next cut!

Bernard Ellouk

Google
I have had a great experience at POI. Hugh has been the best barber I’ve ever had. I have extremely curly hair and besides Hugh there has never been a barber that knows how to cut my hair so well. Incredible barber. Generally very friendly staff. But the store has been impossible to reach recently. The phone is always busy — has been so for five days now — and there email is not working. Whoever is running this place needs to get it together.

Amin Ziaei

Google
The front desk and everyone is nice and respectful, but the quality of the service was not great. I had a haircut with Travis, I asked for fading on the side and gave some other instructions on where the fade should end. The whole haircut took about 5 minutes, my instructions were not really followed or understood. The worst part was when I got home my wife found all the spots they missed. Especially on the front side which is most visible. For the price of $58 (not including tip), the quality felt worse than those quick cuts for 15 bucks. But if you're into hip cool barbershops and care more about the vibe than quality, this is the place for you.

Yelp
I recently moved to NYC in desperate need of my new go-to barber. Noticed this place during my commute to work, and considering that it's so close to my current apartment - figured to give it a shot. I ended up choosing Gabe during my initial visit and he was very helpful! He's very cool, will give you honest advice and he's quite consistent with his haircuts. It's been months since my move and I've visited every month since then! Shout to Gabe for being dope! Even though I'm moving out of Williamsburg soon, I'll still come through. Bonus points: the aesthetics of this barbershop is nice! Another reason that drew me in on the get go.

Rob S.

Yelp
If you want a fade go here if you don't then don't. Barber was 5 minutes late when they actually called me to be on time.

Yelp
Today, I attempted my 2nd trial at a haircut that I wish I never had. I made an appointment with Dustin, who cut my hair for the 1st time, again yesterday. scheduled for 4:30pm, unfortunately duty called and I was for to reschedule 30min prior to time. in knowing that I really and needed a haircut I booked for the next day being today at 12:30pm. At around noon or 3min past I received a call from the front desk agent to remind me of my appointment and that it actually was at 12 and not 12:30 as recalled. At that moment, I apologized and quickly walked over, for I were only 2 blocks away. upon approaching the location I was able to see Dustin and signs of frustration written all over his face. I went in and continued to sit in his chair, as Dustin poignantly addressed the fee incurred due to tardiness or cancelation, did I pay and how did I avoid paying. As a black getting a haircut by a white man which doesn't mean nothing in my book because a good haircut is good haircut no matter What. I was far disturbed at this point with his body language, his tone and the mere fact that you would question my excuse even though I made it to the appointment and like the 1st time was ready to pay for an overpriced buzz cut based on that fact I loved the decor of the salon. I kindly got up did not proceed with appointment paid for cancellation and left. Dustin was rude and I felt every inch of disgust in him that he had to cut my black hair and that I was given a pass and he didn't understand that I was not penalized with the get. Don't go there even if you are a sucker for good design like me. Not worth the feeling.

Yelp
I'm not picky when it comes to haircuts but this place just did an objectively bad job. At the shop I thought it looked fine but when I got home I realized it was asymmetrical and some hairs were cut much shorter than others. If it was like a cheap haircut I'd get it, but it was a lot of money for something that just looked plain bad. The fade on the sides was fine but everything else was just cut unevenly. I feel like this happens with a lot with barbershops in Williamsburg - they find some guy who looks cool and trendy and knows how to do a "sick fade" on the sides and back - but they have no actual training cutting hair - so they know how to buzz hair off but they don't know how to do anything with the scissors. The people were super nice but it was just a really disappointing haircut for a lot of money. I really wish I could get my money back. I don't understand the hype around this place

Yelp
When I get a haircut, I research the barber first. I just don't walk into "any" place. When I was 25 I'd walk into a barber and hope for a good haircut. That was the 20th century. In this day and age, there are specialty barbers. There's Williamsburg Brooklyn. And now there's Persons of Interest. These specialty Mens grooming places are what I search out. I'm from Long Island, it's not a problem for me to travel for a good haircut. I usually go to Blind Barber, I wanted to mix it up and try another Williamsburg Barber shop. I made an appointment online for 11am Saturday morning. This place is pretty large, there are at least 10 chairs. Nick is my barber for today. He shakes my hand and I'm asked how I want my haircut. I actually showed him my Yelp picture! Blind Barber cut my hair, lets see how ya do. Sure enough, he's buzzing, clipping and taking his time with the scissors. All said and done, for $45 bucks it was a damn good haircut. They have a coffee bar in the back, I assumed I'd grab an espresso. No such luck, its a separate entity from the price. It's all good, I reach in the cooler, grab a Brooklyn beer for me and a soda for my son. I'll be back in a few weeks, I want the same haircut before I go on vacation. As the Monster says in Bugs Bunny, I meet very very interesting people... Persons Of Interest, Very impressed with your business.

Yelp
I have had mixed experiences here over the past two years for one reason or another. My experience today was random but will keep me coming back for one reason; MAYU. She's new to the shop but represents everything perfect for me about a haircut. She's warm and friendly, efficient, and precise. I can't say enough good things about her as she has a natural instinct to read a head of hair and make it better than you thought it would be. Go see MAYU! Additionally the gentleman handling the back end of the shop was great too. As an addendum, I didn't want to take away stars to take away from Mayu, BUT; dude cutting hair two chairs away should clean up the language. I get it. It's Williamsburg. Everyone's a rock star who rinses with whiskey, and I'm far from some version of a saint aiming for purity and embrace expletives as a form of expression; but it's a rainy Sunday. I don't like that for the same reason I wouldn't watch a Tarantino movie while soaking in a hot tub. It was unprofessional and took away from the experience. If you're in market though, don't miss a chance to have MAYU cut your hair before one of the big places scoops her up and charges $200.

Yelp
Incredible spot, great vibes and well priced. Jason hooked it up with a great fade!! Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Best barber in Brooklyn. Stu has been my go to barber for years. Highly recommend visiting this barbershop for any and all of your barbering needs. Stu is very knowledgeable and never disappoints. Looking forward to many more great haircuts, fades, and beard trims here.

Yelp
Best haircut experience I've ever had. Highly recommended. Thanks to Doug. Great location, service, and attention to detail.

Yelp
The place is just okay. I wish I could say better- really. I would appreciate it if I walked into the spot and was not greeted with a smug hipster desk attendant hands deep in a burrito dressed like he just got up from the couch in his apartment after watching Netflix til 6 AM. I have been coming here for a couple years now, and sometimes I do not know why I ever go back. Sometimes I have a good cutter. This time, I had a good cut by Austin. He was great and professional and did everything right. 5 stars. The last time before that, I had a guy (don't know his name), but was so rude and smug, it took me almost a year to try them again. They have really great combs at the front to purchase, and even though I'm not always satisfied, it can be good if you get the right barber- even for the price.

Yelp
I've been through five barbers in the last four years. They all seem to disappear. I was desperate for a haircut and didn't want to go to my regular spot since the only reason I went in the first place was because of the barber who, as I was rudely informed, had left. My girlfriend asked her stylist for a recommendation and he suggested Persons of Interest. I made an appointment online which was easy enough. I didn't know anyone so I didn't specify a particular barber. When I arrived, I was informed that Francis would be my barber and that he was just finishing up with another client. Once finished, Francis came over and introduced himself. He was super friendly and gave me the best haircut I have ever received in North Brooklyn. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
This last time I went here, my barber was little nervous then dropped the comb on the floor. This was someone new who I was not even scheduled with. Then he sprayed it twice with something then proceeded again to comb my hair. $45 haircut plus tip and the stylist says it's ok because he disinfected it, then angrily says "stop getting angry." Living in the hood, I've been here maybe five times in three years for haircuts. It was pretty chill in the beginning. The haircuts were ok. You have to kind of tell them how to cut it, which is annoying though. Shouldn't hairstylists know what looks good? Pretty expensive for the level of skill but the free beer helped. Now I have to say this place is emblematic of the douchieness of new Williamsburg. I'm going to Manhattan or Queens for haircuts from now on, where its cheaper, the haircutters have more experience and are more professional.

Yelp
I've been going here for a few years and have always had a great experience. 9/10 barbers I've had here did an amazing job, but now I just call and ask for Russ. He's the nicest dude, makes great conversation, and is a wizard with the scissors.

Yelp
A crappy haircut by a bunch of hipster dbags for $45 If there was beer and drinks there I wasn't offered any . The barber offered a hot towel for my face but that didn't happen . Then I have to hand over $45 and a $5 tip , while trying to convince myself this is Williamsburg and everything is meant to be cool here and you got to pay a bit more but being down $50 for a $15 haircut is a kick in the Bollocks . But now I know and so do you.

Yelp
I stopped in for the first time yesterday for a cut--Jason killed it! He was calm, cool, collected and super talented. I'll be back!

Yelp
I hope my review is permitted, since I'm actually reviewing my spouse's haircut. When I met spouse, he had short hair... Since the '90s he had frequented a barber that provided fantastic $12 cuts, but that barber was all about the latino buzz thing (He still loves that place for buzz cuts). Once he met me, he realized that each time he grew his hair out, I got googley eyed and mesmerized, so he started to grow his mane out a few years ago and realized his barber could not do the long hair thing... I suggested that he find a stylist - I received raised eyebrows, but he did find a place in Williamsburg at the recommendation of a friend. Truth be told, every time he came home after one of those cuts I would think to myself, "ok, not bad, but still very little style". He was also frustrated and continually stated, "You don't understand, it's not easy to find a place in NY that knows how to cut long guys hair styles..." We looked through various blogs and got the sense that POI could be the place. Today, he came home after his first cut at POI (with Colleen) and I can honestly state it is the first hair style that I adore. He is growing his hair out and is looking for a unique style and shape (based on a picture of a guy online) that is not typically seen on the streets of NYC. She did such a fantastic job... the sides are perfect, the front has a swoop... And the best part??? POI is opening up a location in Fort Greene!!! Much closer to us, so he no longer has to go to Willyburg.

Yelp
As others have noted, if you're late for an appointment, they will punt you an hour and a half. That was disappointing -- I just didn't have that kind of time. Hoping they'd cut me some slack since I was trekking through a monsoon... it didn't really look that busy. One gets the sense the lateness policy is simply punitive, not a good feeling, but whatever. Having recently moved to Brooklyn, I'm trying to find a regular spot for hair and beard. They could have hooked me with some flexibility, but it's probably for the best. I'm not really into the ballcap-hipster scene. I went to another shop in Soho with convenient online check-in -- got in with no appointment, minimal waiting (and they were REALLY busy).

Yelp
I'm giving this location five stars only because of Doug Paster, who impressed me with his hair styling skills and knowledge. It's almost impossible to find a PHENOMENAL hair stylist in a barbershop but Doug is indeed wonderful. From sitting in Doug's chair I can honestly say that Doug loves cutting hair and it shows, thanks for a great haircut!

Andreas L.

Yelp
The hairdresser was not listening to my wishes and didn´t ask questions about how I wanted the hair. I actually ended up with my worst haircut ever. I´ve would not recommend this place to anyone caring about their hair. Sorry guys, but this was a bad experience. Andreas Luksepp

Yelp
Yep, another review another customer service horror-show. Had an appointment for 5pm with Jason, came in early, all 3 barbers were working but no waiting line. Checked in at the desk, then sat down and patiently waited - 4 other customers came into the Barbers at varying times after me, and got seated/cu by all 3 barbers. At this point every person is being served ahead of my appointment, even though they were either very late for their appointments, or didnt have one at all... I'm guessing friends of the store but I cannot be certain. 5.25pm rolls around before I approach the desk I say 'hey man...' in an attempt to find out what was happening...however after waiting an uncomfortable few seconds at the desk, the clerk didn't look up from his phone, but to no avail. Didn't even look up as I put my hat & coat on and walked out the store. Store looks the part, but the establishment is all fur coat and no knickers, clearly. Actually horrific in 2019.

Yelp
Went to Gabe yesterday (a friend recommended the shop) for a low fade. Showed him a pic of what I wanted and he nailed it. Awesome stylist and super nice guy - it's a bit of a trip from where I live, but the cut/convo is worth it. Will def be my regular spot now

Yelp
A friend recommended POI to me as I was in a desperate need of a fresh cut after growing my hair out for a bit. I made an appointment with Ricky on a Thursday for a cut the next day. Came in and was immediately impressed by a couple of things: 1. The coffee shop in the back. 2. The Marantz amp and Ohm speakers. 3. Waiting area with a cooler of free beer and water. 4. The overall cleanliness of the place. 5. The music - excellent selection. Ricky asked me what I wanted and gave me an awesome haircut. Everything turned out great but on the expensive side - $42 for the cut + tip + a $5 latte. All in all $60 for a visit to the barbershop was definitely a bit higher than I was expecting but then again I can't complain as the experience and haircut were both worth it. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
I came here with my boyfriend and waited while he got his hair cut. We arrived early, so we grabbed two iced coffees from the back and admired the stylist at work. They called my boyfriend to the chair right on time. I sat and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the shop while he was in the chair. They did a fantastic job with his cut and my boyfriend said that he almost fell asleep from how relaxed he was! On our way out, my boyfriend made an appointment in advance for his next cut. I can't wait to join him!

Yelp
Hannah has consistently given me the best haircuts of my life for the past 5 years that she's been cutting my hair. She is a sorceress with scissors. She's taken my hair from long to a short fade, and back to long again. She's versatile and her haircuts always grow in really nicely. Not to mention you can tell she really cares about making sure her clients are happy. Thanks Hannah!

Yelp
Got a solid cut here. Opted out of the beer, but next time I'll book it on a day I don't have other stuff to do so I can partake.

Michael C.

Yelp
Had my first hair cut here today. Liked it a lot. Thought the stylist really took care and had skill to shape my hair to my face. I work in the fashion industry and the specific hair stylist was recommended to me by another hair stylist I work with on editorial fashion, but who really doesn't cut hair. (Yes, that's a thing!). I figured that was a good sign as that guy is amazing and he would know the difference. Everything was quick and easy. I phoned at like noon and they had an appointment available for 4pm with the stylist I wanted. I showed up 10 minutes early and they took me 5 minutes later. The stylist took time and care, but it was fast and easy. No pushing of products or anything. Lots of advice. I will return to them. If my experience changes, I will update my review.

Yelp
I went to Persons of Interest twice. The first time was a positive experience. I walked in without an appointment, I was seated in ten minutes, and I got a haircut that I considered great for the price. The second time, I was dramatically less impressed. I had a busy day but really needed my haircut before the evening, so I called ahead to make an appointment to make sure I could get in quickly and smoothly. The conversation on the phone to make the appointment went like this: Me: Could I make an appointment for a haircut at 2:30? POI: Yes, we can get you in at 2:30. What's your name? Me: *said first name* POI: Last name? Me: *said last name* POI: Phone number? Me: *said phone number* POI: You're not in the system. Have you been here before? Me: Yes, but I've just walked in before. POI: OK, come in at 2:30 and we'll get you in. I assumed at that point that I was all set with an appointment at 2:30, but when I showed up at 2:30, they didn't have me down for an appointment and the earliest they could get me in was 3:30, which did not work with my schedule. I was totally appalled by this abhorrent customer service and lack of respect for my time. I suspect that the person on the phone was too lazy to enter a new person in their system, so he didn't actually make me an appointment, and in retrospect, I suspect that's what he meant by "we'll get you in," which obviously was not what came to pass. I don't care how well they cut hair; I will not waste my time with POI and their abysmal customer service.

Yelp
Barbershop quality haircuts for slightly less than salon prices, but more than the other old-school barbershops in the area. Very nice staff. What you are paying for is atmosphere (which is nice). So if you're a young hipster guy who wants a no-frills old-fashioned haircut (like the kind that's real popular in Williamsburg now) but doesn't feel comfortable walking into the older barbershops in the neighborhood then this place is for you. Also, a word to the wise if you're a guy making the switch from salon to barbershop. You need to tell them everything so come prepared with an exact description of what you want and how each section is going to look. I'm talking sides, top, front, back, etc. I'm not saying this to be negative about the place, I'm being informative for people in this specific situation. In a salon the stylist takes a lot of liberties and you put a lot of trust in them with that. Overall it wasn't for me but it could be what you want. Yelp shows 3 stars as "A-ok!" and I feel that's appropriate.

Yelp
Gabe does a great men's haircut. Listens to what you want and takes his time. Worth every penny and would highly recommend.

Glen D.

Yelp
Terrible, stuck up posers. No talent here, though they have a cool backdrop their stylists are pretentious, Over-priced and borderline rude, they don't even wash hair before they cut it. Gross folks and gross lack of customer service.

Banning J.

Yelp
Great stylish barber shop. These cats are chill and know how to cut men's hair. Francis is the MAN. Always hooks me up. Zero attitude here. Nice people with honed skills. I'm here every 3 or 4 weeks..they keep me looking presentable. Enjoy the free Brooklyn Brewery beer with your cut or shave.

Yelp
I live for this place, and have never been disappointed with my quick and easy cut. I've found my guy and I'm not telling you his name. You'll find yours. But yeah, if you're up for some people watching a seltzer while you wait - good art books and the Times make it more homey. You can get a macchiato if you want one. I like the Baxter products too. Check em out. Or use whatever your guy (or gal) suggests. These people put a lot of car into their craft. I've seen some next level precision finishing going on, which considering the price is a miracle in this town. Thank you. PS: they have a good Instagram I think run by Steve the owner it's personofinterestbarbershop

Yelp
David for the win! I've been to three of the top rated places in Williamsburg for a cut, and I must say that David at Persons of Interest gave me the best haircut out of all of them. He listened, cared, and is highly skilled. The guy has been to all of the leading schools and knows his stuff... I highly recommend him. Seriously, so nice to finally find someone who listens rather than just gives you the cut they want to give you. Ask for David... seriously! 5 Stars. Very nice people. Solid.

Yelp
Been going here for over a year to get my beard shaped up. I do not have the dexterity to do it myself so I take it to the professionals. Bottom line is they always do a killer job, are super nice and it costs me $20 (15+tip). They have drinks in a cooler, and a coffee shop in the back. They always have killer music playing through awesome speakers (though I hope the Ohm's aren't bolted to the wall, come on guys...) . Contrary to popular belief they do take walk in's, but only on off hours (like a Tuesday afternoon. If I walk in on a Saturday morning they can usually say come back in 30 - I will and I will get my hair trimmed. I will keep coming here as long as I am in the neighborhood or I keep a beard.

Yelp
Walked past POI a few weeks ago and immediately felt the need to get a much needed cut. See, I've been going to Hair Metal for a while now, and I've sent friends there, my girlfriend included, and everyone has been happy. But I've never felt compelled to return on a consistent basis. I've said for a long time that as an "adult" I should be getting a cut every 8 weeks or so. But at this point I'm at about two cuts a year. That's going to change now. Persons of Interest is a straight forward, no nonsense kind of place. It's a small, honest space, with only a few chairs and a table for waiting before your cut. Show up a little early and grab a beer or pop out of the cooler sitting on the ground, cause who doesn't like a complimentary cold beverage? As for the cut, it was efficient, precise, and my stylist was very easy going. For $40 I see no reason why I won't be coming back when it's time to get cleaned up. This is exactly the kind of place I see myself going to for years to come.

Yelp
My sister bought me a gift certificate for a straight razor shave and a haircut here so I gave it a try. I had a pretty big winter beard situation and needed a warm weather trim for my hair, which is a pretty classic high and tight cut. Made an appointment over the phone and a few hours later got an automated text asking me to confirm the appointment. I liked that, to me it meant that I was definitely going to get in when I was supposed to. And I did! Justin cut my hair and gave me a shave, both of them were top notch. Having a stranger hold a razor to your throat can really go badly in the wrong hands but he made it a very comfortable experience. My hair looks exactly how I wanted it to. And they gave me a beer, which is always nice. I'd go back even if it were on my own dime.

Yelp
I had walked by several times and admired the decor. I have always felt that attention to details was a trait not easily turned off. If the owner had hand picked the vintage radio and selected the retro wood walls with metal trimming, certainly he employed the highest caliber of professional. I was not disappointed. First the call. Appointment in an hour? No problem. Second the greet. Name? Thanks, it will be just a couple minutes, help yourself to a beverage. So far so good. Third the barber. "Hi im Jessica, pleased to meet you." Well spoken, natural conversation and a fantastic cut. The movements had a gentleness about them that bordered on massage. She worked quickly and efficiently but never seemed hurried, in fact it was the most relaxing cut I have ever had. I had guessed I was in the right place from the moment she draped the apron over me. The linen that was around my neck was soft and comfortable. It boggles my mind how every other barber in my life has missed this detail. Who wants to sit in a chair for an hour with a scratchy paper napkin irritating their neck? The final touch was the price. When I had first sat down I explained that my last cut took too much off... way too much. So the plan was to just clean up the sides and let the top grow for a while. Some cutting had to be done though to reshape how the hair lay. She could have asked me for the $40 for a full cut and I wouldn't have said a word, though deep down I would have been disappointed. But no, she came through and called it a cleanup. And just as I was putting on my coat she handed me her card. She will definitely see me again.

Yelp
The only thing that was good about my expierence was my 3.50 macchiato. Great ambiance but as for hair cut $45 was a waste of my hard earned effort. Mr. F. Couldn't even give me a decent line up with a blade. Maybe I wasn't hipster enough since every question was where am I from instead of how can I make you look better. I wanted a style and instead left disappointed and with a task in fixing the cut my self and having to wait for my hair to grow back. Poi left feeling like a POS for thinking the expierence would be different.

Yelp
Quality haircut every time. Reception has always been nice. So it's expensive, welcome to New York City. What the hell are you people complaining about?

Yelp
First I would like to say this is purely based on service because I could not even get to the point of cutting my hair...my appointment was at 1, I got there from queens at 1240, checked in and waited patiently...it was passed 1 and now going into 120, I am non confrontational so I didn't say anything until I was called up front, now I would not care if they called to cut my hair even though they were 20 mins late, you know things happen. But, they tell me that the person that was supposed to cut my hair is coming in late and was notified 7am that morning. Now, I was upset, you couldn't contact me earlier about the delay. So they said I have to wait another 30 mins. And now comes to the point that I could wait any longer. It is disrespectful to your consumers and very un classy . I would give a zero just for overall treatment.

Yelp
I have to agree with Brad M. It seems to me that the person taking appointments could care less about whether you get a haircut with them or not. The first time I walked in on a weekend and it was not a problem. I stopped by last night and they said they were all booked for the evening. Admittedly it's my fault for not checking before I showed up but what barbershop is booked for the entire evening - on a Wednesday? Obviously this place is just too cool to accommodate a 30 minute trim. I ended up going to FSC Barber on N. 8th instead where they were actually pleasant and accommodating. A much better experience overall for about the same price. P.S. Actually, don't go to Fellows Barber on N. 8th either, they're terrible too. Just let your hair grow...forever.

Yelp
COLLEEN HENRY is hands down the best barber ever. I've followed her around the nation having her cut my hair. I currently live in Salt Lake City and have flown all the way to New York just to have Colleen cut my hair. If your in the market for a new mane definitely ask for Colleen.

Yelp
I've been here 3 times now, and every time I've had a great experience. I think I might be one of those annoying haircut customers where I'm amazingly unhelpful and rely on the barber to make it happen, so whenever I come out with something great, it makes me come back. I typically walk in and say something along the lines of "I just want it way shorter, and want it to look good if I gel it, which I rarely do, so also look good when I don't". Probably really annoying, I know. But somehow they always manage to deliver, so consider me a loyal fan. Also, the music is killer, whoever the DJ is, hats off!

Yelp
Colleen is the best. I've had my haircut with her for the last five years and I won't go to anyone else. She's fast and professional. It's cool to see her at a cool shop like Persons of Interest. Maybe Aziz Ansari will pop in to get a cut from Colleen next time he decides to come by ;)

Yelp
I've only been twice, but these guys did a great job both times. They're happy to help you find something new that you might like, but are also great listeners when you know what you want. Best haircut I've gotten in a while and definitely a place that I will be heading back to.

Yelp
Do Not Support This Pretentious Place. Yes, its over priced. Men's haircuts are not supposed to be $60 at a "barbershop". Everything else in this part of Brooklyn is expensive, I've been acceptable of it - like a sucker. Fifth time here in five months and NEVER AGAIN. Ridiculous, pretentious and rude reception. They are appointment only. No auto text confirm like mentioned below. 5 times here never got any text confirmation. I was exactly 3 minutes late to the appointment. Not 5 minutes not 10 minutes. With a horrible attitude - as if I let them down - they refused to cut my hair until 1.5 hours later -"the next available" - it was clearly some form of punishment for keeping them waiting - FOR 3 MINUTES. WTF?!?!? DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PLACE. TAKE BROOKLYN BACK. KICK THE PHONY PEOPLE OUT!!!! WHERE DID ALL THESE PRETENSIONS COME FROM? WHY DID THEY MOVE HERE???? The Receptionist was oblivious that I had a day at work also - its all about them - not about the people who pay for their services. This business chose this guy as their face and representative. Apparently this is how they are - oblivious to the rest of the world. The seriousness that they feel the need to take themselves with, is out of control and utterly unwelcome. I hope that they go bust and clear the area for those with actual personality and who actually care for the people THEY SERVICE - otherwise just another soulless, hollow, unaware counter in Brooklyn that IS NOT SPECIAL and DOES NOT DESERVE ANYONES PATRONAGE. Do Not Support Them.

Yelp
Great place, and great price. I have longer hair than most of the clientele, but Austin does a great job with my 70's cut, and is really good with layers. You can often just drop in, have a coffee (they have their own coffee shop in the back), read a magazine and chill for the next available barber, but I think it's best to get an appointment (with Austin).

Yelp
I wish I took advantage of the complimentary drinks. Ill go thirsty next time. The staff seem to know what they are doing and come from a nice background and wanted a modern mad men vibe. It works well. Although for my $42 fade, it would have been nice to have a razor shave at the neck and using one of those vintage back massages by barbers. I liked that for a simple cut they took the time to make it right and not rush it like some other local barbers.

Yelp
Ask for Justin Virgil - he's meticulous when it comes to hair and has a terrific eye. He's simply the best.
