"After you’re sweaty and tired from dancing, eat more grilled octopus. Head to Pescaria, which is actually back in Polignano a Mare, but so worth it: It’s a fast food seafood restaurant that’s open until midnight, and serves fried octopus on a bun — octopus burgers — for like three euros."

This delicious and convenient fresh fish shop was recommended to me by a colleague and I am so lucky I was able to go! We enjoyed a raw octopus salad and a box of soft battered and fried white fish and polenta. Everything was absolutely delicious. It’s a busy location, so I recommend arriving before or after peak lunch hour. However we were able to share our table with a group of travelers and had a great conversation about the beautiful city and food. We shared food, stories, and vibes. Great place all around!

Found this nice eatery that sells fish and chips. We ordered the salmon burger, fish and chips and the fried squid. The fish is fresh and nicely cooked with a good crisp. We enjoyed the way the fries were cooked. The squids are also very tasty and fragrant. The burger comes with some raw salmon, chopped tomatoes, some greens and sauce, pretty big burger. Nice and cosy place to have your meal, no fuss. Recommended

Fantastic place for fish & oysters lovers who want to have crackers or panini gluten-free too. The place is spacious inside and outside and provides all sorts of fresh fish for a reasonable deal. Except Prosecco and wine is not served per glas, per bottle only. For me as single traveler a bit challenging and I would love to have some sparkling wine to the lemon squeeze of the oysters. Service is also highly kind and attentive. I definitely recommend this place!

What a delightful taste! We ordered 2 octopus sandwiches and fried calamari 🐙 🦑 Both were delicious, and we did not have to wait in line. The waiters did not speak English very well, but they understood our order from the photos I showed. The bread was hot and crispy, and the seafood was also very tasty. If you visit to Polignano a Mare you should eat something in this restaurant.

Pescaria The octopus sandwich is definitely the highlight—fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. Other seafood dishes are decent but don’t quite stand out in the same way. The overall atmosphere is casual and lively, making it a nice spot to enjoy a relaxed meal. No reservation is required, but be prepared for a bit of a wait—usually around 20 minutes just to place your order. Once you order, you’re given a number and it typically takes another 30 minutes for your food to be ready. When it’s time, a staff member calls out your number in Italian, which adds a bit of local charm and is a fun opportunity to test your listening skills if you’re learning the language. A good place for a laid-back seafood experience if you’re not in a rush.

A visit to Pescaria in Polignano a Mare is a truly unique experience, but one that is absolutely worth it. The food is fantastic, and the prices are surprisingly great for the quality of seafood you get. However, you should be prepared for the process. It's a very busy place, and first, you have to stand in a line to pay for your meal. Only after you've paid do you get to sit down and wait for your order. It's a system, and while it's efficient, it can feel a bit chaotic. And while the food is amazing, some of the staff can be a bit rude, which is a shame, but it might just be a part of the fast-paced, high-volume environment. The food, though, is the real star. The salmon and tuna panini are absolutely delicious—the fish is so fresh and flavorful. The fish and chips are also fantastic, a perfect Apulian take on a classic. For the great price you pay, it’s an incredible value. In the end, it's a worthwhile trade-off. You might have to deal with a strange ordering process and some less-than-friendly staff, but the food is excellent and the prices are more than fair. It's a place you go to for the delicious seafood, and that's exactly what you get.

The food was amazing. It was fresh and well seasoned. The service was fast and great. The mixed fried seafood was kind of salty but everyone of my friends and family enjoyed it with the beer, coke, and water. In my opinion the octopus burger was the highlight of the food i ordered. Overall I would recommend this place for people who like seafood, tourists and most of my friends.

Google
We visited Pescaria for the first time today and it did not disappoint! I will be dreaming about this polpo fritto panino and crunchy chips for a long time 🤤. We went before dinner and did not have to wait at all. Karim was very kind and made sure we were enjoying our visit!

Yelp
This seafood joint is worth the line. Italian-born, but soon opening an NYC location, I loved the 4 meals I got at Pescaria. Highlights: 1) Definitely the pulpo sandwich. 2) Next is the tuna panini. 3) Then the salmon panini. The crudo options are delish. If you've never had a raw shrimp, now's your chance to try some freshyyy ones. The salads are also delightful and the polpette's are MUAH. I ate here so many times and I'm glad I got to check out their menu...didn't try any of the pasta dishes, but the fish here is fresh, delicious, and decently priced. Pro-tip: Go online and order about 2 hours before you're hungry esp in peak season so that you can just skip the line and pick it up. Otherwise, it's like an hour+ ordeal at times to grab food here.

Yelp
While I have yet to experience dining inside we chose to eat her 4 times during out short stay in Poliagno! The fresh seafood was such a nice compliment to all the pasta and pizza. While you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu- I highly recommend grabbing a sandwich with fresh burrata! You can order online for pick up if you don't want to stand in line but make sure you plan ahead- all the food is made with care. It's also open from 12-12 making it a popular spot for most of the lunch, dinner and late night crowd. Do not miss this on your visit!

Yelp
One of the recommendations that we needed to try. It was a weekday, so it wasn't quite busy....yet..(we had dinner around 5pm). So there wasn't a rush to decide on food, since they have a lot of options. We finally decided and placed the order at the counter and then looked for a seat. Apparently, you can make reservations here. We saw a note on most tables of different reservations. The restaurant was in between a nice sit down and a fast food place. I ordered the Soft Broiled Prawn Panini while my friend ordered a vegetarian dish. The panini was so huge!! I definitely had to pluck off some bread so I can take a proper bite! My poor friend, she has braces, so she was having a really hard time eating her panini. Nonetheless, it was very flavorful and it hit the spot. As time went by, more and more people started to roll in. Next thing you know the whole place was packed! People watching is my thing and I noticed just about every table ordered the Cacio Cheese, Pepper and Mussels. However, I think that night it was with clams. It looked so good and I was extremely jealous!! Maybe one day when I come back, I will order it!

Yelp
Nice interior, busy line, and fantastic food. We selected a series of small items from the display shelf for lunch. Bread, cheese, spreads, and fish were arranged into delicious combinations of simple ingredients. Each was prepared thoughtfully - all of them were good with the salmon's spread being a highlight. Absolutely delightful and would love to try the other options.

Yelp
I only can say I wish São Paulo (Brazil) had a Pescaria. I'be tried 3 panini there with sea food (tuna ceviche, polpo/octopus and salmon) all the three were great. Every euro spent there worth it

Yelp
What a winner! Cute little place that is churning through patrons! It's kind of like an Italian seafood pinxtos place! Fresh seafood in great combinations. Went for the Paninis and fish of the day. The bread from the paninis is sooooo good! Definitely recommend for a great lunch!

Yelp
Great place! The food is delicious. It's a renowned by locals. I tried both the sandwiches with swordfish and shrimp tartare, I'll come back for sure.

Yelp
In a stay of five days we went there 3 times. 'Nuf said, no? Ok, nice decoration, enough place to sit during the day, products are good, served fast, they don't close during siesta, central location and very tasty fritura and sandwiches.

Yelp
Rly nice octopus sandwich. I felt the veggie inside was too salty but rly nice overall. I didn't love the fried fish balls nor the swordfish carpaccio . Just come for the sandwiches

Yelp
WOW what a great seafood restaurant in Polignano a Mare. This place gets busy, but the line goes really quick. Great value for the quality and the amount of food you get. I ordered the fried seafood plate and my husband got the swordfish burger. DELICIOUS! We got a sauvignon blanc bottle of wine since it was only 12 euros. We got a spot outside which was very pleasant. This was one of our favorite spots in Bari!

Yelp
Run do not walk to get here. The absolute best seafood sandwich on the planet. Nothing else to say.

Yelp
We arrived in polignano a mare super jet lagged and hungry at 4 pm - many other restaurants are closed at this hour and the only ones open were more snacky places that had things like pizza and bread and cheese which were not going to work for me as I am gluten and dairy intolerant. We were debating turning back or to go on and look for the final place our hotel had recommended for gluten free options - "it will probably be closed like the others" we said. Well, we looked up and there it was, definitely open and with a sunny, inviting, beautifully decorated interior and people dining in the sunshine on the patio. You go up to the counter to place your order like fast food, but the quality of the food there is far above what we know as fast food in the US. The menu is clearly marked with which items cannot be made gluten free so you know you can order anything else - they even have yummy gluten free crostini. We got the tuna tartare and a lightly cooked swordfish dish and both were absolutely wonderful, but the tartare was our favorite! If you are gluten intolerant, this place is an absolute must!!! They also have lactose free mozzarella - I can't have any dairy at all, but I still thought this was cool.
