Pestana Cidadela Cascais - Pousada & Art District (Cascais, Portugal) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Pestana Cidadela Cascais, an imposing seaside fortress turned inviting, 126-room hotel, is a place of oddly complementary contradictions. A pousada is by definition meant to be a small, historic place that’s distinctively Portuguese, a hotel that doesn’t feel like a hotel; Pestana Cidadela is large, modern, cosmopolitan in style, and feels very much like a well-executed, all-the-amenities hotel. Yet the old stone walls and cobblestone courtyards are constant reminders of its history, the laid-back atmosphere makes it feel cozier than its size would suggest, its many influences are right at home in culturally layered Cascais, and it’s certainly no ordinary hotel." - Tablet Hotels

I had a great experience at Pestana Cidadela! Rooms are spacious clean, location is amazing, breakfast is great. The views are incredible! I also had a massage with Erica and it was one of the best messages I’ve ever gotten. She really knows the body’s pressure points and is able to work out all of the knots and tension in the body. I highly recommend adding a massage to your stay. I had dinner at their restaurant and it was lovely. Service was a little slow, but it was nonetheless delicious. Overall, all of the employees are friendly and helpful. If you’re into staying in unique boutique style hotels, this is the spot for you!!

A great few days at this really lovely hotel. Excellent position and everything to make a stay luxurious. The staff were all lovely and very helpful offering advice and always with a smile. The food at the hotel was great, excellent breakfast buffet and the hotel restaurant across the square is a must. Would definitely recommend and hope to return. This is a real gem.

This is our second visit to the Pestana Cidadela Cascais, and it doesn’t disappoint. It is of course a pretty special location, being built inside the fort, and they’ve made to most of the features and space that this allows.||Rooms on both occasions have been large, airy and comfortable. Everything is clean and housekeeping are on hand throughout the day for additional towels etc. ||On this occasion our room was directly above the bar, but I’m happy to say there was no noise disturbance at all. ||Breakfast has a good selection of hot and cold food, and when the weather is good you can sit out on the terrace overlooking the lighthouse and the marina. ||All of the staff are friendly and helpful, and happy to assist with any queries. ||We look forward to another visit soon!

Fabulous hotel and location. Indoor & outdoor pools lovely temperature. All staff very welcoming, especially Vera & Artur. Breakfast buffet is extensive and yummy. Coffee excellent. Only gave 4 stars for room as our bathroom didn’t have anywhere to hang towels outside of shower. However fresh towels are easily obtained.

A wonderful stay at this lovely hotel. The rooms are well appointed with everything you could possibly need. The beds are so comfortable with lots of pillows and luxury cotton sheets. The staff are so polite, friendly and attentive. We had a lovely breakfast overlooking the marina. Anna and Arthur need a special thank you for a surprise birthday cake, card and champagne breakfast, all done with a genuine smile. Many Thanks for making our stay in Cascais a little bit more special.

Despite storm Claudia trying to dampen our holiday this place still made our time magical. It's literally inside the medieval fort which an epic location and provided great views for breakfast across the marina. Staff were always friendly and helpful particularly Ana & Arefin. Would love to come back when it's drier and sunnier to really experience the magic of Cascais

We had a great experience. Spectacular location, great views, excellent service. The breakfast was great and the staff there very kind. Rooms have seen better days, but all is clean and works well, just one can see they haven’t been redone in a while.

The hotel is excellent — very organized, luxurious, and offers premium service. The staff are genuinely kind and attentive. It also has stunning views over the marina of Cascais, which makes the stay even more enjoyable. The hotel restaurant is decent in size — not too big, not too small, just right. The waiters were friendly and helpful, though one thing I have to mention is that they kept passing behind me during the meal and bumped into my chair several times, around seven or eight times, which was a bit annoying. Aside from that, everything was great: the food was delicious, and overall I strongly recommend this place!
