Pestana Palm Gardens

Loves this hotel as the staff were brilliant with the kids and the accommodation was perfect for our family. With a noisy boy in the mornings we needed a quite space to watch Tele and this was perfect. Basically a house away from home. Two bedrooms upstairs with bathroom and downstairs big living area with TV, couch and dining table with a toilet and kitchen at front. Perfect! Swimming pool was just big enough and bar and restaurant was fab with great staff. Great for a family holiday, but need to be happy walking or hire a car as about 15min walk to nearest supermarket and bars/restaurants. To get down to Carvoeiro centre takes 30min walk but taxi back is 6euro and plenty of restaurants on the road down or take the boardwalk route for the scenic way!

10 out of 10! The location, beautiful! Get the premium with ocean view. Grace, at the reception desk, with shorter hair, was amazing! She answered all of questions, showed us to our villa, offered us some delicious wine upon check-in, really set the tone for our first trip to Portugal. I wish everyone we came across was as pleasant as Grace! Thank you Grace! Now the villa is beautifully decorated, a great mix of traditional and art, very clean! Be sure to bring a socket converter, there is no usb/usc compatible outlets. Also, there are lots of stairs here, its not wheelchair accessible, so if you need those accommodations, Ask for a one level villa. The place is quiet and neighborhood is charming, I felt safe walking at night. The grounds are very well kept. There is a restaurant on-site, food is yummy! So far, my family and I are enjoying our stay, definitely recommend to others.

Villa was fantastic. Staff were amazing, efficient, and super friendly. ||Unfortunately you need to be quite fit to walk to the shops, restaurants, beach or anywhere. It’s about 30 minutes each way. We walked down and got a cab back. Nothing is local enough otherwise sadly.||The pool needs an attendant. Too many unruly adults with their kids. Kids will have fun, we have a child, but throwing water everywhere, screaming and shouting, and the inflatables make it difficult to swim, kids constantly diving in soaking beds, and the smoking and vaping were constant and spoilt the relax around the pool. We all deserve a holiday! Going away in the kids holidays is unavoidable for us, I feel an attendant might calm things down a bit, so we can all enjoy. ||Overall it was lovely.

My Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our nine nights stay at the complex on a bed and breakfast basis. Our villa was comfortable, very clean, well equipped and spacious. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. Dining in the evening was a pleasure, with good food and service.

Our stay was fabulous. We had two bedrooms, which were spotless. 2 bathrooms a big one and small. Kitchen was well equipped. Sitting room was a great size. Table and chairs outside not very private.

Resort consists mainly of holiday villas, however site lacked that holiday feel, just rows of villas with few people other than staff around. We stayed in one near the entrance a two bedroom 6 berth apartment overlooking the tennis courts which wasn't in great condition. The villa was impeccably clean , spacious and well equipped, however it had obviously been well used and seemed tired and really was in need of a refurb . There was also a lot of cockroaches in the kitchen . Outside we had a plastic table and chairs to seat six people that was situated on a small piece of sloping block paving, making it impractical to use, and two sun loungers on a piece of artificial grass . The outside area was totally impractical and useless . we were really disappointed with the location , but apparently they were full, so had nothing else to offer, so we made the best of it. |The site itself is kept really clean , thou basic maintenance with regards to tennis courts, road near the entrance, kids playpark seemed lacking, also down the far end the recycling point was ,rubbish everywhere . Pool is reasonably small, with sunbeds around which is a a lovely well maintained area , a pool bar off the main area where you can buy food and drinks, thou the day we did , the bar person was far from friendly , even reluctant to allow us to have a tray to carry our drinks back . They also have a restaurant area , a nice small gym and a sauna, but they lack a small shop to get supplies, which is surprising as there are no shops nearby outside the site , a trip in the car every time we needed something. |Overall it's an ok place to stay if your looking for quiet relaxing place away from it all and don't require any really facilities .

just returned from 4 nights. we were upgraded to a 2 bedroom. 2 storey house overlooking the pool. The house was clean spacious and had everything we needed. |However, although the house was lovely. with attractive surroundings. i would say that this is probably 3 not 4 stars. There is need for updating as well as repairing and upkeep of the hotel grounds. |we had breakfast included. This was lovely. great variety and nicely cooked. would definitely suggest new towels as they have definitely had their day.|Even though some negatives of this property i would say a lovely peaceful break was had and would recommend.

I made the mistake of booking a room here while planning a trip. I canceled the reservation 2 hours later. I thought the cancellation policy was before midnight my time, but it was midnight Portugal time. The cancellation email said I would have to pay for the entire stay since I went 30 minutes over. The dates were 2 weeks in the future. There was no one at the hotel desk when I called, since it was 12:30am. The next day they said there was nothing they could do, and sure enough, 2 weeks later they charged my card for the full amount. Don't stay here. They will rob you blind. If they will take $500USD for doing nothing, imagine what else they would take if given the chance.
